No one can't really describe how freakin' bad I feel, how uncomfortable and how weird it is to see attractive male celebrities got sexualized and harassed on screen. Also, to add salt on the wounds, the audiences just laugh. Here, I am pinching the bridge of my nose because I've experienced it as a woman and how concerning it is that people take sexualization of men as jokes.

I don’t know if anyone else has had the same thought, but:
Brianna, Roger and their family are Brian and Ellen family 2.0.
Roger has been compared to Black Brian often over the past few books, they are both kind, tall and dark-haired.
People always comment on how much Brianna looks like Ellen. Hell, Brian mistakes her for Ellen when he accidentally sees her at 1739 Lallybroch. Plus she is a gifted artist like Ellen as well.
Jem has inherited the MacKenzie red hair and features. Jamie’s brother Willie was also a redhead.
Mandy, much like Jenny, is small and dark-haired, having taken after her father in looks.
It’s unclear what Davy will look like, but it stands to reason that he will be a redhead and inherit the MacKenzie features. Also, Davy was compared to Jamie, as Mandy said that they both look like ‘water’ in her mind. Perhaps Davy will not be a time traveller but will be able to travel through dreams like Jamie?

And in even more casting news today the "Outlander" prequel "Blood of my Blood" has casted 4 more roles. First is Brian McCardie as Issac Grant. Then Jhon Lumsden as his son Malcolm Grant, who is also a suitor of Jamie's mom Ellen's. Then Sara Vickers, who I loved on "Endeavour", has been cast as Brian's mother and Jamie's paternal grandmother Davina Porter, who is named after the "Outlander" book series' actual narrator. Finally, Peter Mullan from many shows/movies is Red Jacob MacKenzie, Jamie's maternal grandfather and the head of Clan MacKenzie.

Hey, i was finally getting to writing my Outlander girl(aka finally stopped looking up random 18th century facts as procrastination) and now i can't decide who to use as her face so...
Her name's Ellen Janet Randall Fraser and she's supposed to be Brianna's twin (definitely fraternal btw)
Tumblr media
Kaya Scodelario (for some reason she reminds me of Claire)

Riley Keough (reminds me of Jamie)

Here's What Happened After Coffee Today!
The Two Normans Here’s what happened to Norm Wolff (the northern one), after our weekly coffee today. But before I get to that, some of you may wonder why I include “the northern one” when I refer to him, and Norm Colon (the southern one) lives in Bellingham, WA. I made the distinction because I didn’t want to confuse Spanky, who just likes to annoy me with questions. I wonder how many times…

Outcaste Nakshatras: The Misfits & the Misunderstood
Yesterday I made a post about how outcaste nakshatra natives tend to be anti-establishment thinkers and how many of the most well known radicals & revolutionaries of our world tend to have Outcaste nakshatras.
Outcaste or Mleccha nakshatras belong outside the caste system and aren't given a place in the caste hierarchy. Shudra nakshatras are the lowest caste to occupy the hierarchy. Mleccha is considered lower than that and thus outside the system.
(Ashlesha, Bharani, Shravana and Vishaka are the Mleccha nakshatras)
Thus it comes as no surprise that those who have Outcaste naks often experience being socially outcast, excluded and like they don't belong anywhere.
Shudra nakshatras also experience these themes to a certain degree as these two are at the lowest end of the pyramid.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shannen Doherty (middle) was fired from 2 shows, Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed because of issues among the cast members & rivalry between them. When she was starring in 90210, her fellow cast member Tori Spelling whose father Aaron Spelling produced the show, asked her dad to fire Shannen. Aaron Spelling also produced Charmed and subsequently fired her after 3 seasons due to her conflict with cast member Alyssa Milano, who later admitted that she was responsible for a lot of the tension at work. Rose McGowan who replaced Shannen on Charmed also accused Milano of creating a toxic work environment.
Shannen acquired a "bad girl" reputation and was known for being "difficult to work with"🙄I feel like she was pushed into a corner by her male producers and bitchy co-stars and felt excluded among them as a girl from a small town in Tennessee :(
She has Revati Sun, Vishaka Moon, Uttaraphalguni Rising and Ketu in Ashlesha
Revati is a Shudra nak whereas Vishaka & Ashlesha are Mleccha naks
Tumblr media
Isaiah Washington was fired from Grey's Anatomy for using a homophobic slur against gay co-star T.R Knight. Washington has come out saying that this is false and that he said the f word during a dispute with Patrick Dempsey who had a tendency to provoke him (he apparently said: "Isaiah, do you know that white men are the masters of the universe?")
He also said that he was always excluded on set and they tried to pay him to NOT audition for the role. Washington also claimed that star Ellen Pompeo was given millions of dollars to stay silent about Dempsey's on-set behaviour in the #MeToo era, and alleged that she was racist, saying, “She really thinks that she’s cool with Black people like that, but she’s not.” There have been many rumours over the years about Greys being a toxic work place so tbh I am inclined to believe him.
He has Ashlesha Sun, Uttarashada Moon and Jupiter in Revati amatyakaraka
Not everyone tries to expose their former bosses or colleagues but given his Moon in a Kshatriya nakshatra (or warrior nak) I see how he's brave enough to risk everything to speak his truth.
Tumblr media
Brendan Fraser has had a lot of setbacks in his career and for a good period he just sort of disappeared from Hollywood; in recent years he has come out saying that it's because he was blacklisted by the then President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association who had sexually assaulted him. He did make a career comeback and won an Oscar but man's been through a lot in life.
He has Jyeshta Sun, Krittika Moon & Bharani Rising
Although he has a Mleccha nak in his big 3, since he also has a Brahmin & Vaishya nak, he has enjoyed immense public support and sympathy which not very many other people on this list have. Not everybody gets to make Oscar winning comebacks either.
Tumblr media
Tatjana Patitz was one of the 90s supers (she's the one in the back in this picture) but unlike Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington or Cindy Crawford, she's hardly ever mentioned in conversations about the 90s OG supermodels. She received very little press coverage and unlike the others who've made career comebacks or enjoyed sustained fame, Tatjana kind of vanished. She unfortunately passed away in 2023 from breast cancer and even then I haven't seen the industry mourning for her or anything :(
Tatjana had Bharani Moon
Tumblr media
George Clooney has spoken about how in high school, he was nicknamed Frankenstein because of Bell's palsy which caused the whole left side of his face to be paralysed, his eye rarely opened and he had problems with eating. Because of the constant bullying, he had to move to another school. After a change of scenery and active sports, the disease receded.
George has Bharani Sun, Uttarashada Moon, Shatabhisha Ketu & Rising and Mercury in Krittika atmakaraka
Even though majority of his naks are Mleccha/Shudra, he subsequently became an A list actor and enjoys immense wealth, popularity and good will. His moon is in a Kshatriya nak and his atmakaraka is in a Brahmin caste nak. He fought his way up.
Amal Clooney was born in Lebanon into a well-off family but they had to flee Lebanon due to the civil war and settle in England. Amal is a human rights lawyer whose clients include refugees. (I had previously spoken about the outcaste nakshatra tendency to be anti-establishment or to dedicate their life to causes which had initially affected them personally).
Amal has Shravana Sun, Jyeshta Moon and Venus in Dhanishta atmakaraka. Due to the presence of Vaishya naks, she gets to support these causes from a position of immense privilege and champions them through her position as a lawyer, i.e, using her intellect not armed struggle or some other form of activism.
Tumblr media
Megan Fox's career was full of ups and downs and for a period she was pretty much blacklisted from Hollywood and labelled "difficult to work with"🙄
She has Krittika Sun, Ashlesha Moon and Purvashada Rising
Even though her moon is in a Mleccha nak, due to her other luminaries being in Brahmin naks she's enjoyed immense popularity among the public for years and has always enjoyed a certain status or level of fame (largely due to her looks but honestly Hollywood is full of gorgeous women, how many enjoy the same popularity or public interest as Meghan?).
Tumblr media
Billie Eilish, Shravana Moon grew up lower middle class and was home-schooled. Even though now she's rich & famous, she still acts like an outcast and "does not fit in".
Tumblr media
Angelina Jolie, Revati Moon & stellium has spoken a lot about being unpopular in school, being a punk, being misunderstood. She has Mercury in Mrigashira atmakaraka and Saturn in Punarvasu as her chart ruler
Revati is a Shudra nak, Punarvasu also experiences themes of being an outcast, Mrigashira nak has themes of abuse.
It makes sense as to why she has dedicated most of her life to helping refugees and championing numerous causes and has even said if she were young now she would never have become an actor. She enjoys immense popularity and is very privileged (lots of Vaishya gana naks in her chart) but to this day she's condemned for her weird behaviour in the 90s and early 2000s and can never seem to shed her past image completely which is crazy because she's not the first or last person to have an affair with a married man (not condoning adultery just saying that it happens all the time in Hollywood and people hardly bat an eye but for her, her reputation as a homewrecker has come to define her).
Claire Nakti had done a survey on nepo babies and concluded that Revati was the most common nakshatra among them. This is very interesting to me because I feel like most Revati nepo babies including Angelina, Jamie Lee Curtis, Robert Downey Jr etc acquire fame that far exceeds that of their parents. It eclipses any privilege they already had; all these individuals are far more successful than their parents ever were. Obviously being privileged helps and this does not apply to all Revati nepo babies ofc but many people mentioned on the list are total superstars who you'd never guess came from famous families, this is to say that they're not famous for being famous or because of their families, they're icons in their own right.
And even with Angelina, she grew up with a single mom and was estranged from her dad for most of her life so her upbringing was rather modest even with the showbiz ancestry she had.
Tumblr media
Olga Tokarczuk has Shravana Sun, Vishaka Moon & Purvaphalguni Rising
Olga is a Polish writer who is known for the weird, quirky, mystical, and philosophical nature of her novels (She received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2018). It can be said that many of her characters live on the fringes of society but have a very strong sense of justice and fairness despite their position that renders them powerless. She has 2 Mleccha naks in her big 3 and a Brahmin one, I thought this particular quote was very interesting because its Mleccha naks who acutely understand the nature of human suffering but the Venus ruled Brahmin nak insists on how being deluded, that our psyches prevent us from seeing the true nature of human suffering. If you saw everything exactly as it was, you'll die. In order to live, you must be willing to be deluded.
Tumblr media
Lindsey Lohan, Ardra Sun, Bharani Moon & Mrigashira Rising plays a social outcast in Mean Girls who tries to infiltrate a popular girls group (despite having a Shudra & Mleccha nak, her Vaishya asc helps her ascend the social hierarchy to some extent). The movie ends with her having managed to destroy the clique of the Plastics and create a new social order at her highschool.
Tumblr media
Miley Cyrus is a Vishaka Moon & Demi Lovato is a Bharani Moon and its pretty well documented how they both didn't feel like they "belonged" or "fit in". They rebelled in different ways and have opened slammed Disney on multiple occasions.
Tumblr media
Presley Gerber who has the word "misunderstood" tattooed on his face has Ardra Sun, Dhanishta Moon, Jyeshta Rising and Ketu in Shravana
Ardra is a Shudra nak, Shravana is a Mleccha nak whilst Dhanishta & Jyeshta are Vaishya naks
As a result of feeling left out, misunderstood, isolated, excluded etc Mleccha nak natives often tend to keep to themselves and are very very private. They are loners at heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is by no means a comprehensive list but off the top of my head here's a bunch of celebrities who are very low-key and very private. There are no rumours, no pap photos, nothing, just silence (for the most part).
L to R
Denise Richards- Vishaka Moon
Christian Bale- Shravana Sun, Mars in Bharani amatyakaraka
David Duchovny- Ashlesha Sun
Shakira- Shravana Sun
Elijah Wood- Shravana Sun
Harry Styles- Shravana Sun
Saoirse Ronan- Bharani Moon
Penelope Cruz- Bharani Sun
Beyonce- Vishaka Moon
Uma Thurman- Bharani Sun
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
L to R
Charlize Theron- Ashlesha Moon
Amanda Seyfried- Ashlesha Moon
Joseph Gordon-Levitt- Ashlesha Moon
Paul McCartney- Ashlesha Moon
Ryan Gosling- Vishaka Sun
Adam Driver- Vishaka Sun
Leonardo DiCaprio- Vishaka Sun
All of these celebrities maintain a pretty low profile and only interact with the press when they're promoting something.
only 30 images are allowed per post acc to tumblr so there will be a part 2!!
I hope this post spreads some light into the nature of Outcaste naks, I have a lot more research that I'll share in my next post<33

“You didn‘t ask what I want done with my body.”
I‘d meant it at least half in jest, to lighten his mood, but his fingers curled so abruptly over mine that I gasped.
“No,” he said softly. “And I never will.” He wasn‘t looking at me but at the whiteness before us. “I canna think of ye dead, Claire. Anything else—but not that. I can‘t.”
-- An Echo In The Bone
----------------------------------------
I was so happy to see this small scene come to life in 7x03.
And it got me thinking.
Why can't Jamie bear to think of Claire dead?
Besides the obvious - that she's his heart, a part of him, the pain of it could very well kill him...
I think it comes down to the fact that he saw how his mother's death absolutely crushed - in many ways destroyed - his father.
Brian Fraser obviously lived for many years after he lost Ellen MacKenzie Fraser - but of course he wasn't the same man.
Jamie was old enough when his mother died to see this, and to remember it.
It's why he says to Claire in The Fiery Cross:
“To see the years touch ye gives me joy, Sassenach,” he whispered, “—for it means that ye live.”

Live blog Landcon (part 2)
It's time for a particularly anticipated moment: the Sam Heughan panel
Tumblr media
How did he feel when he learned that he was going to film the Battle of Culloden which is at the heart of Scottish history? He indicates that it is a real turning point in the history of Scotland with the departure many Scots to new territories. It was quite an emotional moment to film this battle.
Sam Heughan indicates that filming for season 8 started 3 weeks ago. He says that during the reading of an episode of season 8, in a castle, with the rest of the cast, someone was playing the credits on bagpipes. It was at that moment that he realized that the adventure was almost over and he burst into tears.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A prequel in the works for Outlander
If Outlander ends soon, the American channel Starz does not wish to abandon this universe and has ordered a prequel centered on the parents of Jamie and Claire. Sam Heughan took advantage of his panel to say that he would be the first fan of this series called Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
Developed by Matthew B. Roberts, the show will explore the lives of Jamie's parents in the Scottish Highlands of the early 18th century and that of Claire's parents in World War I England.
Around ten actors are already attached to this project including Jamie Roy, Harriet Slater, Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine who will respectively play Brian Fraser, Ellen MacKenzie, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp.
Sam Heughan returns to the battle scenes and the importance of the weapons which played a large role in the victory of the Americans against the English during the revolution. He wonders why Brianna and Roger didn't bring guns to help Jamie win instead of books and matches.
Tumblr media
Richard Rankin is his turn on stage
Richard Rankin would love to have the opportunity to film with Emma Stone. He really likes her performance in Poor Creatures.
Richard says that Sam, Sophie, Caitriona and himself spent a lot of time, off-camera, with the twins who played Jeremiah, in a nursery on set. The goal was to succeed in creating a bond of trust with them and for them to feel safe when playing.
Tumblr media
What is his favorite quote about Roger? He indicates that it is during season 2 when Roger is looking for Geillis and he says “Smells like a fuckin’ barbecue”.
Like last year, Richard Rankin talks about the Rebus series in which he will star during his panel. He says the casting is incredible.
If he hadn't played Roger, Richard Rankin would have liked to play Black Jack Randall or Stephen Bonnet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joey Phillips begins his panel at Land Con 6
Joey would have liked Denzell to have a scene with Tom Christie. He indicates that in season 6, Tom Christie is not really a character that we can appreciate but he adds that in season 7, what he did for Claire broke his heart. He adds that he really likes Caitriona Balfe and Mark Lewis Jones and therefore, quite selfishly, he would like his character to have a scene with them.
Tumblr media
What is the most difficult scene for Joey to film in Outlander? Unfortunately, he can't tell which one it is, because it's an upcoming scene. He says it's a scene where a lot is going to happen for Denzell and he adds that we'll quickly see what scene it is when it airs.

Beside the Seaside: Ch 12
Tumblr media
Chapter 12
The sun rose on the morning of Claire and Jamie’s wedding completely shrouded by dark gray clouds that warned of rain.
“Dinna fash yerself if it does rain, lass,” Claire heard Ellen Fraser speak up from behind her, “it’s good luck if it does.” Claire was not usually one for silly superstitions, but the first thought that came to mind was that on the day she married Frank, it had been a beautifully sunny day…
“I’m not worried,” she promised, turning from the window in her room — the last day that it could be considered as such. “It’s not as though a little rain will make much of a difference anyhow; it’s a short drive to the registrar office in town.” She hoped she said the words without any hint of dismay. They couldn’t get married in a church on account of her divorce, and while that hadn’t really mattered to Claire, she knew Jamie’s faith was deeply important to him. And she wondered, not for the first time, what Jamie’s mother must’ve thought of all this; in the short time that she’d known the woman, Ellen Fraser had proved exceptionally hard to read. That’s where Jamie gets it from, she thought.
The door to Claire’s room opened then, and Faith swung it shut promptly behind her, appearing a little out of breath. “I didnae let anyone see me,” she said in a rush.
“What?”
“It’s bad luck,” Faith explained.

Through the rabbit hole
Long, lazy Sunday: I am late with the Persian analysis and I apologize to those who were waiting for it. However, I do have an excellent excuse: I found myself unexpectedly engrossed in - hallelujah! can I say hallelujah? - Drums of Autumn, once I finally managed to be done with the very laborious first two chapters.
I continue to find the modern timeline slightly better written than most of the French shenanigans, for reasons I have already explained (yes, it is fiction, but the underuse of that particular trope left me hungry and not in a good way). The 1969 Boston episode (Moon landing included) can easily and will probably be among my favorites: it is short, lively and she does not go overboard with pedantry. Also, to my great surprise (or maybe also because the SS&RR tandem is so cataclysmic in the series), Brianna & Roger are (possibly) way better sketched and, overall, more interesting and endearing in the books. Fun fact: in my mind, they don't even look like the Painful Duo. But J&C look as S&C and whoever tells you otherwise did not watch the series and/or lies.
Unpopular opinion and I will probably get strong reactions to this: book Claire is, at times, insufferable to me. There are (mercifully) fleeting moments when I hear and almost see a poor travesty of Herself in her. If there is one person in this Universe who was ever able to masterfully round those edges and elevate Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp Randall Fraser to legend, well: that is (and I suspect it could only be) C.
Conversely, I once read on a Mordor blog something as idiotically enormous as "Jamie Fraser is, we all know it, a brute and Claire is the only person making him look human". This is Hate 101, transferred from the guy you spew on all day long to the character that guy decisively shaped and gave a destiny to, on screen. Writing such inanities lacks culture, taste and empathy. Jamie Fraser is a brute because he protects his family, whatever the costs? Is he a brute with a deep appreciation for the Greek and Roman Classics? Is he a brute just because he happens to be imagined and given life to in the 18th century Scottish Highlands, a place and time you obviously have no familiarity with, spare these books? And what about the other feminine influences in Jamie's life, that shape his unique sensitivity and understanding of the emotional needs of a 20th century woman, such as Claire? What about Ellen, Jenny, hey even the tiny (blink and you'll miss her) Annalise (dreadful name, Herself) de Marillac? I really pity you, woman. Really do.
All in all, I have no idea about what happened in LAX, other than the kilt apotheosis and the subsequent drooling, fainting and yelling that accompanied it. I still saw many young women in that crowd and I am cautiously betting for less drama, this time. But I do wonder why *urv never shows up at any event in the area, when the effort would be, for her, minimal. Things that make you go hmmm, once again.
A new (hectic) week just started. Onwards.

hi, would love to hear more about chef Lily, please and thank you :)
Hi! Sure! Thanks for asking!
I initially started this for the Jilytober Masquarade, but didn't end up getting my act together before that deadline and then I just sort of...moved on. I don't know what I'm going to do with this idea now since I didn't get very far with it, but...maybe sometime this year I'll go back to it!
Anyway, without further ado, here's a Muggle AU Lily snippet:
Lily reduced the heat to low, watching as her brew simmered in its pot — its fragrance enveloping her in a warm wash of butter and flour. The rest of the world beyond her station meant nothing to Lily as she worked…the bustle and clamor of her classmates fading to a dull murmur while she hovered over her pot — fancying herself a potioneer of sorts, a mad witch with an epic concoction. She stirred in the milk as if it were some fantastical element, whisking away the lumps until the sauce thickened to perfection. She could feel the jealousy of her classmates bubbling around her as presentation time approached…knowing that her Béchamel Sauce was—as always—a work of art. Her confidence carried her through the rest of her practical lessons that afternoon, lifting her spirits to impossible new heights...until it was promptly crushed in the women’s lavatory. “That Evans girl is the fucking worst,” said a voice that Lily was sure belonged to Ellen Halloway — the snooty blonde girl from her pastry class who reminded Lily viscerally of her sister. “The instructors really think she’s God’s gift to the culinary world, don’t they?” From her hiding place in the stall, Lily heard several other girls snicker at that. “She thinks she’s so much better than us,” another girl—Tara Smith—chimed in. “Just because she doesn’t have a life outside of the kitchen, doesn’t mean the rest of us are the same…” More laughter. “Pathetic,” Moira Fraser spoke up. “So pathetic.” Sucking in a deep breath and collecting herself, Lily flushed the toilet and stepped out of the stall — holding her head high as she marched silently across the room towards where the girls were standing together near the sinks. “Excuse me,” Lily said with perfect politeness, stepping around her gossiping classmates and flicking on the nearest tap. She felt—rather than saw—the way the other girls shrank in response…all three of them tensing with horror at the sight of the object of their ire washing her hands so casually before them. Lily took her time washing and drying her hands, savoring in the feel of the awkwardness that sizzled in the room. “Lovely pastry lesson today, wasn’t it?” she asked pleasantly, turning to face her classmates. “Best of luck next time, Tara. You’ll learn how to work the oven eventually, if you really put your mind to it.” Tara just stared back at her mutely, and Lily smiled, patted her on the shoulder, and stepped past. A rush of satisfaction burned through her when she left the room — the door swinging shut too slowly to muffle the “Oh my God,” that followed her departure.
WIP Game!
