The theatre and bar, situated on MacDougal Street with an entrance on Minetta Lane, was a popular performance venue for many legendary folk musician including Richie Havens, Tiny Tim, Mama Cass Elliot, and Shel Silverstein. Sources have cited that a largely unknown Bob Dylan wrote 'Blowin' in the Wind' at the Fat Black Pussycat in April, 1962.
