Hey guys. If you receive a DM from your friend on Discord that says they accidentally reported your account, then DO NOT RESPOND.

If this happens, then that account got hacked! They will redirect you to someone impersonating an employee and trick you into changing the email for the account!

Trust me, my account recently fell victim to this and I had to submit a ticket to Discord's support team to get my account back. They tried to make me pay money to "verify" my account. The hacker apparently tried to DM my friends and get them to fall for the scam, too!

SDFGSKGHDLKSD I mean it was what? 2003??? that shit was pretty nifty back then but like.... do they even use EMAIL???? Like sfkdlghsdkgld I'm sure they have some pretty high tech shit in SOME areas, like demon stabbing or artifact preservation, but at the same time... they're just so fucking stuck up their own asses if you told me they only corresponded by landline and hand written letter I'd believe you.

They're so self-centered no consideration for adaption and improvement. Sure a stake will dust a vampire but so will a high powered ammunition that blows their head off. Decapitations count and guns keep the evil undead away from your squishy mortal ass. Ex-Watcher Spike uses disposable cellphones and has several sock puppet emails. He knows how to set up conference calls. He has a gameboy. The Council could never.

This is why I also kinda like Wesley more than Giles, he can use a laptop without having a nervous breakdown. Also he's shoots people with guns, more people in the buffyverse should use modern weaponry. Give Dawn a flamethrower.

i reposted a fic i had deleted off ao3 a few years ago, n its gotten nice reception (kudos, bookmarks, hits) but the past 2 comments ive gotten since i did so last night have been ?? hate comments?? and they dont hurt me at all, i find it v funny theyre doing it on a smut fic like, at all, but its so weird bc they were worded v similarly, n the first one had an email as their guest name? also, im pretty sure the email address was one associated with hackers, so its like?? this must be ai right?? but like why use ur time programming smth like that to.... hate comment on smut fics? like what is ur goal in the end, im geniunely confused?

Okay - from now on, I will not curse Google for insisting on sending a verification code to my phone every time I do anything remotely significant with my email accounts. Up until now I always kind of thought they were more than just a little obsessive about making sure it’s me and all that, but no more. NO MORE.

A couple of nights ago, a random verification code popped up on my phone. I thought it was odd, but I handled the office Gmail account and phone number at my old job so I just figured Council was trying to sort out those accounts; I deleted the code and a few minutes later, a second one came up. Again, I deleted, checked my personal Gmail accounts to be sure nothing hinky was going on (I hadn’t gotten any notifications that anything had changed) and sort of forgot about it. Then this morning I get a notice from my credit card company that “some of my information was found on the dark web.”. Apparently said information was my email and password - so those verification codes were some jack wagon THIEF trying to yoink my account, but thanks to Google security they failed. (But I did change my passwords.)

I freakin’ HATE thieves; nothing worse than asswipes trying to take other folks’ stuff. Not that they could access much from my email - I’m one of those a/r folks who uses different passwords for EVERYTHING, and I don’t ever access banking institutions through email links. Still, I wonder how in the hell whomever managed to get my password…,

Pahahaha! Just had an email from a ‘hacker’ blackmailing me to send them money so they don’t release all my private info and videos of me. Will this crap ever end??
