At Flutter Live Conference in London, Google released the first stable version of Flutter, a dart-based development platform for mobile phones designed to enable app writing using a common code base for iOS and Android along with a user interface In addition, Google announced an experimental web-based implementation of the flutter runtime to integrate Flutter apps into standard web browsers. After nine months of beta, Flutter 1.0 focuses mainly on stabilization and bug fixes, as well as some new features like Dart 2.1, new UI widgets and previews for adding to the app and platform views. Dart 2.1 offers smaller code sizes, faster type verification and better diagnostics. According to Google, Dart 2.1 reduces output size by 17% and compile time by 15%. High level targets are things like libraries and executables.
Target Level Parallelism – This is when a build system builds high level targets at the same time.
In this blog, I will cover the approaches for parallel builds on the major platforms and tool chains supported by CMake. Since CMake is a Meta build tool that does not directly build software, but rather generates build files for other tools, the approaches to parallel building differ from generator to generator and platform to platform. The CMake build system and its developers have always been aware of how important parallel builds are, and have made sure that CMake could take advantage of them when possible.
