this means that the fishing in the bay they appeared in has been SUFFERING when it comes to fishing because these damn seals are hindering them

Ingo found litwick in a shipwreck and just kind of visits its shipwreck until he figures out what pokeballs and battling is

tynamo convinced Emmet not to eat it, and now just kind of follows Emmet around. (they are friends :D)

Later on, perhaps maybe a year into the seal guys terrorizing the port, I think Drayden just goes like "damn this vacation fucking sucks" and goes up to the seal boys and is like:

"So y'all are able to be humans right" "sure" "I guess" "I'mma be absolutely real with you two, I need you to find a hobby other than stealing clothes and things from everyones boats, and depleting the fish population. Do you know what battling is" "Hunting someone for sport" "Absolutely incorrect. Anyway take this ball. You can catch pokemon creatures in them. You then make your creature and another creature fight each other. Go. Please" "okay"

(AND then the boys proceed to get really good at battling. Poor Drayden just sits in his boat with his head in his hands, and is just like damn. Now the seals can extort MONEY from us too why did I do this)

Very funny guy to me I like when hes depicted as like. Someone who presents himself to look very cool and intimidating and strong but is clearly the type of person that would fall for an updog joke repeatedly. Also based on his room he might be able to skateboard AND throw toy trains into basketball hoops so thats prettt cool

oooh yeah, I don't think the twins would...not because I think they'd be bothered by the situation, I think my two muses specifically would be bad at sharing. In general, with each other, and they're both like....suuuuper clingy boyfriends tbh. as an aside, it's one reason I haven't ship-whored them out so to speak; they're semi region locked too.

Now, close platonic contact I can see here and there as a result of their somewhat co-dependancy- it just wouldn't ring true of that romantic feel for one of them, they'd be your brother.

Now, as far as crushes on the same person, this is actually a pretty common problem w. my twins- and they're really competitive about it, maybe not overtly but....subtly. Like, getting together with one does bring about the nature of them taunting, rubbing it in each other's face after the fact. Like one of them 'Won'., that's just the cain instinct biting really hard into them. Doesn't help that they have different flirting 'styles', with Ingo being very subtle and Emmet super blatant. I HC, at least with Felix, but probably in general...that it's a time and place kinda thing. Luck, on who get noticed first or gets a moment to go in for the kill, so to speak.

As for Felix, I've a few poly ships w/ him, i think waaaay in the past I've discussed he works good w/ two men. the last serious one i thought about was probably.....Volo and Adaman, mostly in the sense of like....Volo gets tired of all the subtext. Like, ig something about my Volo muse specifically is that he's willing to tease two people, pushing them together in that sort of sense. So it's another instance of Volo gift-wrapping Felix to use as bait, figuratively, my muse is weird like that. The way these things play out it's hard for the other guy to date Felix without him dating Felix, I guess....?

I'm like, super down with poly and Felix would definitely date two guys (besides Volo and Teal here), I think the usual obstacle is plotting and finding ships like that in the first place- i think most partners are either monogamous or something. and i feel like finding just one ship partner is rare enough? but it's on the table!

WIFE? WIFE? WIFE? W-' mode instead and is desperately trying to get to reader after that/just doubles his efforts to get back to his version of normal but like, Bass Boosted this time

Opening the big freezer room thing, the twins have to go find something you stored away a while ago. Your back is turned when suddenly a large sheet-covered shape in the corner if the room starts to twitch. You do not notice since it does not make any noise and begin to leave, but the shape begins to move, knocking over something. This finally catches your attention, and you turn your head to see it. The sheet is stumbling closer and closer to you without hesitation.

This, naturally, startles you. A scream leaves you. Your body kicks into overdrive as you drop whatever you come in to grab and attempt to escape out the door. This makes the shape move faster and more desperately. You both leave the room to find Emmet standing outside the door. Running into his arms, you see the shape moving closer still. Your lovely dragon boyfriend seemed to dispatch a harsh attack onto the poor dragon as he reached forward to slam close the door.

It was quiet for a moment. You attempted to regain your breath while Emmet just stared at the freezer door. Eventually, a loud pounding started on the door, scaring you again. Emmet just sighed and shook his head.

"What is that!?" You had enough of all this confusion, "Is that a person?"

"Mmm, nope!" The Reshiram man turned to you, "Well. Not a human. Don't worry." Now you certainly felt even more worried. Your concern was plain to see as Emmet let out a sigh again. "That is an empty husk from when Ingo and I were one person. It is verrrry eerie. Do not mess with it anymore." Empty husk? You felt even more bewildered. From when he and Ingo were the original dragon of Unova? Why did they keep their empty husk in a freezer?!

It kept banging on the door, too! Loudly! You wanted to grumble about the madness of this all. Emmet seemed mostly unbothered, however. "Do not go in there," he said simply, "It wakes up at random and then hunts Ingo and I down to reabsorb us. That is annoying, yep." You blinked a few times. Reabsorb them? Like... into its body? A shiver went down your spine.

"... Alright," you nodded. Emmet smiled brightly and offered his hand to lead you away. You rejected it and said that you needed to be alone to process all that. He seemed to understand and left you your thoughts. The banging on the freezer door never ended. Was it okay in there? How frightening.

Just as you were about to step away, a noise stopped you. Not there beating - no. A voice.

You froze. Again.

"Kh-kh..." a sound came from the other side of the door. The pounds echoed out still. You tilted your head. "Kh-kh... ma... may...?" Desperation almost seemed leaden in the sounds. You pressed a hand to the door. It felt colder than even before. The pounding instantly became more ferocious. "May-tuh..." The freeze seemed to intensify. The harsh hits on the door turned into an uncomfortable creaking. You took a panicked step back.

Damage to the door's integrity became more and more apparent. You flinched as it soon gave way to the harsh hits from the husk inside. The door fell apart before your eyes. The husk was visible on the other side. It appeared eerily like the twins with pieces of ice decorating its body in patches. Its gaze was trained on you intensely. "Mate..." it mumbled out and took an unsteady step toward you. You barely had time to process its words when it hugged you tightly. Its face buried into your nape. A icy winds lapped at your skin from the husk.

Though, the oddly tender moment was interrupted by two sets of feet echoing out against the floor. Ingo and Emmet soon emerged out from a nearby hall. They were stricken by the sight before them. However, this only caught the husk's attention. Its head turned to them with eyes like a predator. It rushed them suddenly. You could only watch as it tackled Ingo and began to glow with a bright light. Emmet let out a panicked scream.

Ingo was gone when the light faded, and only the husk remained with Zekrom accents to its body.

Well, this seemed a right mess, did it not?

Emmet: They can control their volume slightly better Ingo bitties and are super expressive! You can always tell what they're feeling and they can always tell what their Ingo is feeling! They can get bored a little easy so they can get into trouble quiet a bit! They cant read other people but they can read their brother like a book! And he can still be just as loud as his brother(they may be small but they can still be heard over train whistles like Ingos-), they like joltic pokebitties a lot and will happily keep way to many around lol, they cant read social cues for shit and can be seen as 'pushy' or seems to talk 'out of turn', but tbh he and Ingo talk over each other and don’t give a fuck so they kinda don’t care, if they interrupted something important they figure you'll just repeat yourself/continue where you left off, though he does try to people please, they are super eccentric and can be dramatic in the 'gay theater kid' kinda way,

Ingo: They are loud and cant really control it, they cant control their volume at all, and when they try they're still either super loud or barely above a whisper so it's better to just not adopt an Emmet and Ingo pair if you cant handle his volume, they also cant really emote well and have horrible resting bitch face and will always speak their mind, though they're pretty reserved and are near impossible to read say for by their brother, though he can read others and social cues very easily, and they're very observant, and arent afraid to remind their Emmet that while they will always end up talking over each other that doesn’t mean everyone will put up with that, they're so blunt that they're labeled as rude, but if they wanted to be rude they would be- he doesn’t people please like his brother, unless they feel that bad about it, but even then-

PLA!Ingo: As they don’t have an Emmet, they can be adopted by themselves, they are slightly more expressive than non PLA!Ingos but still don’t have much of a filter like them, though can control their volume! But tend to be a lil quiet so that might just be that lol, they are very found of pokebitties and of course like Bitty!Sneaslers the most, though also really like Hisuian Sneasels but will also happily care for any pokebitty, they also get along well with other PLA bitties(and I mean from the game),

Kinda a bonuses:

PLA!Emmet: not actually a proper type, but when an Emmet somehow looses their Ingo they will 'turn into' this type, and are often paired with a PLA!Ingo to try to help their issues, since they cant pair them with an Ingo since they will fight the other Emmet over the Ingo in fear of loosing their brother again- They have a lot of mental issues, like depression, anxiety, paranoia, and often have ptsd/cptsd due to the situation as well, and pairing them with a PLA!Ingo, since they wont have an Emmet already with them, can help them settle in and relax a bit! It will also make them not fight another Emmet over an Ingo as long as you don’t try to pair more than one PLA!Emmet with a PLA!Ingo(or PLA!Emmet with a non PLA!Ingo who has an Emmet)

They very much are Rescue types!

Aand the alternate/other PLA!Ingo: the one where the Ingo looses their Emmet, similarly to PLA!Emmet they have depression, anxiety, and paranoia, and often have ptsd/cptsd due to loosing their brother, and are often paired with PLA!Emmet's as well due to this! They will also fight another Ingo if they're paired with an Emmet and shouldn't attempted to be paired with an Emmet of either kind that already has an Ingo they're paired to,

Remember! Emmet and Ingo bitties HAVE to be adopted together or they will fall into a depression! They are paired/bonded already so it would be like separating the non bitty Emmet and Ingo(which would not end well for their mental states)

Also note that the two rescue types will fight to the death with other Emmet/Ingos unless separated!!

Hm. Well, finding someone that's similar to him is pretty interesting. I mean, it's not every day that you find someone else that's almost exactly like you when it comes to anything. It’s very uncommon.

Whether that be… taking battles seriously, being wise, yelling, or infodumping about every possible subways that exist. Anything. It's interesting to find someone that's EXACTLY like you.

Maybe some people would find it annoying to have an exact copy of you in your life. But for Ingo it isn't exactly the case since it's like heaven to have someone that has the same interest. Do you know how many people care about trains or yell about things they like? Not many. ;w;

Granted, there's still his brother, Emmet, that he likes very much because he's a good brother. Who’s kinda like him, but not by 100%? Eh. They both like trains, but have their own quirks.

Hell, Ingo might’ve not even picked up on his partner being similar to him, when they first met, that is. It’s probably Emmet that picked up on it instead and pointed it out. And Ingo would be surprised by this realization.

And here’s the thing, having a partner who’s exactly like you in every way has its pros and cons. Like, it’s good to have a partner who’s similar to you. But in every way could cause problems. ;w;

But hey, as long as it works well for the both of you. Who cares? All it matters is that you guys are happy being together. Because like, you guys could talk about trains and battle strategies 24/7.

i really need to draw khan and emmet hanging out bc they would be such buddies. ingo hates how quickly they bonded bc khan took one look at emmet, at how excited emmet is to battle, and seemed to Immediately like him (it only bc khan had already bonded w ingo, but like hell will he ever admit that. that proves he has emotions! he has to hide those.) khan & emmet battling each other. khan takes over for ingo sometimes on the multi trains except he and emmet get so into battles that they need a chaperone to keep them from getting too rowdy bc somehow (???) they've managed to destroy a couple of train cars??? khan challenges the subway himself (he battles using himself but also his pokemon. he'd rather battle using himself, but ingo and emmet get awfully concerned when he faints so he stops doing it so much). khan and emmet discuss battle tactics (khan insists "offense is the best defense" and "go balls to the walls immediately on attack" and emmet argues for better strategizing and well rounded move pools) and help each other train, offering suggestions and tips and "hey, let's try this maneuver" or "i think it would be better if you did this move first".

not that they don't enjoy an off day, but they definitely bonded well over battles.

See, they’ve been doing this for a while now. Most famously, Volo has Hisashi Iwakuma’s extremely recognizable windup, but Hop throws like Hideo Nomo and Kabu throws like Choji Murata.

Ingo and Emmet Are Both Autistic and I Will Die On This Hill, Thank You Very Much

Hey, remember over a year ago when I wrote that post screaming into the void about how Emmet is autistic? Consider this an updated version of that post, because I really should have talked about how they both are.

Disclaimer: I am an autistic adult who went undiagnosed until age 20 despite a blatant love of steam locomotives so I don’t know how I was missed considering I had the single most stereotypical interest on the planet. (I’ll touch on that later.)

Anyhow, I’ll try to keep this brief (and will likely fail), but let’s get into how both Ingo and Emmet are autistic, actually.

Emmet’s the more obvious one, which is why I wrote the initial post linked above. He clearly scripts, has trouble containing his sheer excitement about things (read: Doubles) to the point of bothering other people, has no filter, will happily infodump about strategy or the MTA rules if asked, and in the manga has an arm-swinging walk that’s visibly a stim if you know it. 

The scripting is evident when you fight him by himself, as his dialogue often feels stiff (in Japanese it’s more informal to contrast with his hyper-formal brother), but the line that always seals the deal for me is actually this, when Ingo asks him to put in a few words before a Multi Battle:

A Brief Submas Primer

Did you just find out about the Pokemon franchise’s most popular battle facility since the Battle Frontier because of a plot point in Legends: Arceus? Were you curious because your friends were talking about some weird train man and you have no idea what they’re on about? Worry no longer, because this mole person has you covered.

What the hell is Submas?

The term ‘Submas’ is a portmanteau of their Japanese trainer class title, Subway Masters (in English releases, they got the trainer class title Subway Boss). Note that I’m saying “they” - there are, in fact, two of them, and they’re twins.

Ingo (Nobori) is the older of the two of them, specializing in Singles. He speaks overly politely/formally (more obvious in Japanese), has no indoor voice, will yell “BRAVO!” the second anything remotely good or exciting happens, has an overbearing sense of responsibility (it’s an older sibling thing, trust me), and became an accidental sex symbol on Pixiv (don’t ask, he probably doesn’t know either). He’s best known for being the “serious” one and notably has not been allowed to smile in-game to this day, although he was allowed in the anime and manga to be more expressive. He makes up for this by being very, very loud.

In case anyone is wondering what real-world train drama is going on, there’s this.

The tl;dr is that Amtrak wants to run two passenger trains per day round-trip (4 runs total) between Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana, restoring a service that hasn’t been there since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. CSX and Norfolk Southern, two major freight train companies, have resisted this idea, saying it would mess up their traffic, especially since Amtrak’s passenger trains would get priority (by government decree, believe it or not).

So now Amtrak is on Twitch streaming the line to prove the line isn’t too busy for them to run passenger trains.

I’m wheezing.

Writing this down now before I start getting up for work bc I don’t wanna lose it. Had a. dream just now where Piers and Marnie bought a train and they were like “ok we’re gonna do some cool stuff w this train but also wtf are we doing with it” and they’re driving the train down some tracks (something something manual vs automatic idk anything about trains I’m only listening to the dream brain) and they’re driving down the track and pass by some guy in a white suit and top hat (Emmet wink wonk) who gestures for them to stop and he gets on and he’s like hey I like your train are you gonna do something with it and they’re like idk we bought it from some guy who wasn’t using it anymore and he was like oh yeah LOL that was me I’m not using it bc my brother is missing and idk the three were going to fix it up and do battles I dunno. I was just hanging out with Piers and Marnie I guess idk (I knew who Emmet was tho)

I like them a lot!

They're two very different kinds of "one half of a whole duo." Emmet, for example, is The One Guy Who Actually Has A Personality, and unlike the more normal personalities of some of his co-workers, Emmet's is also totally on-the-nose and not cute at all. He's so obviously, very obviously, off-putting to some people (e.g. his coworkers) and he takes this in stride and never tries to hide his actual faults or work them around. He's not trying to be likable, he's just cheerful and intensely passionate about subway maintenance.

And this is what makes his rivalry with Ingo interesting! Unlike some rivalries in anime where the antagonist is like "X is so unlikable, how could I possibly make Y team up with them," Emmet's "there is absolutely no relationship between how much I think you suck and how much you suck" policy actually makes sense, in-universe. It's a cliche, but Emmet really does think he's training Ingo up to be a star subway conductor, and he honestly doesn't understand why Ingo resents this.

Ingo, meanwhile, is haunted, creepy, quiet and stiff but not particularly hostile, and very clearly just trying to do his job. He fights B/W!Emmet because this is the way it's supposed to be, he's supposed to fight the rival over the rank, but it seems like he's more like, focusing on his station and his work than he is on the social environment.

If you want to imagine some character development, you can imagine that Ingo realizes his emotional life isn't going to be sufficient to sustain him as a human being, and he decides to try to make a home in the human world, where he's better off than he was before.

W: I don't know.

W: I seriously don't know, Kleft and I had a weird feeling, and followed it here.

W: You won't believe me.

W: Rotomblr told me Ingo was destined to vanish sometime soon.

I’ve had a Pokémon OC named Grey for years that had gray hair and silver eyes and seeing Ingo and Emmet constantly has only made me want to expand my lore.

She’s always been half human and half Pokémon, Giratina being her Pokémon patent. A Gengar named Kol is basically her big brother and she adopts a bunch of ghost Pokémon to live with her at the edge of town. She works for the leaders of the GO teams, making deliveries between their HQs and Professor Willow(who legally is her guardian).

The only Pokémon on her “team” that I for sure know how she got them are Kol, a phastump named Penelope that was the spirit of a lonely girl, and a mymiku she got as a gift from Willow on her first “birthday” I forget it’s name right now. but she also has a yamask, jeliphant, and rotom. The yamask is a bit of a crybaby but the other two are less thought out.

Team Galactic want to use her for their new world so eventually she has to flee, leaving her ghost family behind and building a whole new team (I forget what she ends up with but I think snorunt was one and a houndoom).

But then Arceus happened and the whole popular theory that Ingo was brought there via the distortion world finally gives me a great way to explain how Grey came to be! If Giratina chose Ingo to go into the past then Grey could have been made in his image but being part genderless Eldrich ghost-dragon god made her slightly different. She already had his eyes, hair and mouth, but instead of only having the hair knives as her pokeform aka that side helmet armor that Giratina have she also gets it in human form. She’s also a shiny (with slight albino traits) with the silver and blue main aesthetics.

And of course she hatched and wonders around as a Pokémon before seeing humans and thinking, oh I wanna, sand naturally shifting to her human body.

-Personally I think Diamond Clan finding her and assuming (kinda correctly) that she is the new amnesiac Warden’s kid. Doesn’t help that she only speaks Pokémon and Ingo almost seems to do as well with how he can connect with them. So she gets shipped to Pearl Clan as a token of good will or w/e. But having a Pearl Clan member find her and thinking that poor Ingo and his young family must have been a very bad attack that left him a amnesiac and separated from his child who can barely walk is also a very good way to go. I mean Diamond just is better for clan relations and my fave Legends ship.

But anyway she gets to spend her early days with her daddy and mama Sneasler, when his role is over they both get sent back but where Ingo gets his memory back Grey loses hers and ends up in the wrong region. So when she’s on the run from Team Galactic she ends up in Ninaba riding the subway to lay low but everyone is staring at her and it’s freaking her out until a figure shields her from view. Looking up she sees a familiar face, like the one she sees in the mirror every day. She wonders if he is also a Giratina but he smiles and that’s the wrong smile, the wrong coat, the wrong voice. But what’s right? Big misunderstanding of her being a descendant of the child Ingo “left” and not the mostly grown child herself.

Then after that would be the next bit of old lore. She ends up at the cave that can go to the distortion world but with team Galactic using her as a weird sacrifice in exchange for their new world with their old leader. Her Father just ends up possessing her and destroying them and trying to declare war on humans. But people she’s come to love got wind of this and do the “power of love” thing to bring her back and make her Father leave. It half works, she’s not possessed but he in on the human world still and in a sorta human shape.

Now we can have Ingo find her again and help her remember, maybe have the dads fall in love? Or just co-parent like a divorced couple lol idk. But he get to meet her teams and friends and introduce her to her uncle Emmet “the wrong smile!?” And aunts (I can’t remember how names spelling but the ⚡️&🪶 leaders) Chandelure is a great ghost mom! And Penelope and the other baby mons are like “grandpa?” It’s great! Queue up the happy family montage or w/e

I think it’s clear at this point that this man kinda sucks when it comes to… well, being nice. If those are the right words. But hey, at least he can kinda try being that thing for once. Especially to people that he likes.

Since they’ll be genuine moments where he’s actually nice, if you can believe that. Rather rare, but it’ll really depend on what you are to him and how he sees you. But since you guys are family-

Those "rare" situations consist of him being like, having very sincere words and moments. Where he doesn't usually appear as the asshole that we all come to know and love. Like, he's still flamboyant as fuck, just not arrogant or being shitty about it. He's like an entirely different person.

Honestly, he’s probably only really nice towards you and his younger brother, if this were the case. The kind of nice that would be protective (especially if he’s the oldest) and caring. He’s also one to come up with silly ideas to go somewhere outside, but yeah-

But I mean, either way he's absolutely going to annihilate anyone that even tries to bother or hurt you. That's just how protective he is. And also because he does actually care about you.

Shielbert

He’s pretty much the sweetest cousin/sibling anyone could ask for. Like, he doesn’t usually try to start problems for no reason and tries to get along with people, even if he doesn't particularly like them.

But he likes you, whether you're his sibling or cousin. Maybe it's because you two are similar or have similar interests? Ah. Whatever it is, you two get along pretty well and hang around a lot.

… Maybe to a point he'd try to invite you over just to talk or spend time with each other? Because you're kinda the only one he genuinely likes to talk to and see (well, you and his brother are his favorites). And like, you guys can drink tea or whatever-

He’ll also do anything for you, if you ask. Like, whether you want a shoulder to cry on or want to make cookies at 3am with him. He just goes with the flow at this point.

If he's the older one between the two of you, he'll likely play the role as the "older sibling" or the "responsible cousin". Or any other words, he'll be protective of you. If you do the same for him, he’ll probably say something like “I can take care of myself” as he trips over a rock.

Emmet

Honestly, if you two grew up together as children. Whether you’re his sibling or his cousin. He was probably very close to you the most. I mean, sure, there’s Ingo. But uh, yeah… you two were probably close for a long period of time. 

Whether it’s just to hangout like two best friends that are family or go buy Doritos at 1am because you guys ran out of it. Just whatever floats your boat, I guess. You guys could even start problems with each other for shits and giggles, where no one actually gets upset.

He’s also the kind of person in the family that gives the best hugs and genuine care. So like, if you're sick, then he'd do his absolute best to help out. Even if you're 50 miles away from him and he has a job to do. Some things just take priority first.

Oddly enough, whenever you guys come in contact. He has a lot of things to say. For example, funny stories that happened at the station, or just anything infodumping related. He's also willing to show you around the train station if you'd like.

He's also one for Pokemon battles. But if you're not into that, it's okay. You guys could like, just chill around with his Pokemons going sicko mode. Be warned, a lot of his Pokemons are kinda goofy in a chaotic or good way-

Ingo

Hm. You know, he’s a very understanding man, whether that goes to family, friends, strangers, anyone. So like, if you have any problems or need genuine kind words from someone, he’s pretty much the guy to look for. Since he genuinely cares for his family.

Uh, but yeah, with his memories being wiped away. He probably forgot about you, but he still tries his best to be as respectable as he can. And he's glad that you were very understanding of his situation.

You can tell him about the moments you guys had together. Whether it's silly, embarrassing, anything. Sure, he might not remember them, but it’s nice to see someone who does genuinely still care about him after everything.

He'll likely be one to gush about things that interest him, such as battles and trains. And he'll probably apologize if he goes overboard with his infodumping ways. And yes, you can spend time with his Pokemons if you'd like.

But just know that he'll always be there for you. Whenever you need someone to talk to. Or just want to say "hi" to him. He's always there and welcomes any visits from you, even during his job because it honestly gets kinda boring-
