I've been thinking about the templars lately. they were promised honor, virtue, told that they would be charged with protection of the innocent... And then those same people are systemically exploited and abused, abuse others because they're taught to regard everyone else as either sheep who need to be lead or potential threats. Never equals, except in their brothers/sisters-in-arms. They act as the guard-dogs and military arm of an entirely different organization that they're only a functionary member of but have no governing say in. Even the chantry aren't their equals- they function as the templar order's supervisors! And all this isolation and closing of ranks ends in disability, addiction, death, and abandonment by the system they spent their bodies in service of.

To top that off, retaliations against them just confirm the paranoia they were taught to embrace. It's probably a long hard road to get out of that hole.

Like, listen. the dichotomy of mage vs templars is a satisfying and easy one, but the system is tearing them apart too. have you ever heard of a retired templar?

at the end of it, mages and templars need to unite against the real threat. the chantry.

Togame Jo x Reader

Word Count: 370 (it's just a baby)

No Cw just fluff (unless you don't like dumplings)

It's another writing exercise I was told is cute enough for the public so...the request for today was singing/humming while cooking with Togame.

The song is stuck in your head. Humming it on repeat surely isn’t helping as you roll out the dough for the dumplings, but the mindlessness of it helps somehow. By the time Togame’s feet fall solidly against the floor, you’ve made half so far. Roll, stuff, fold, roll, stuff, fold. The process has little intricacies, but your hands are practiced enough by now that you’re almost machine-like. Maybe that’s why you barely hear yourself sing the first line of the song softly, almost mumbling it.

“Don't go breakin’ my heart.”

Jo from his perch on the chair in front of the counter, watching you fold perks up. Usually he helps, but you get in such a finicky mood when you cook, and he can tell you just want to do this by yourself without him crowding your station today. Still, he can’t leave the song unfinished, even if you’re so focused on the dumplings you didn’t react to him coming in. 

“I couldn’t if I tried.” His voice rumbles, peeking at you from over his glasses to see if you heard him. The smile you’re trying to hold back breaks across your face. He’s snapped you out of your daze, but it isn’t unwelcomed. 

“Oh honey if I get restless-”

“Baby you’re not that kind.” He finishes, his lopsided grin and green eyes looking at you, at the hands that have slowed just a bit while your focus is drawn to him, if only a little. He shouldn’t distract you, but he’ll take any attention you’re willing to give him, even if it’s shared with dough and meat filling. 

Going back and forth until the song ends, he adds a flourish here and there. A small gesture of him holding a hand to his heart when ‘I got your heart in my sights’ is sung has you giggling, fingers slipping on one of the dumpling folds.

It’s not quite melodious, but the flow between you both has a special harmony that only singing with each other often can create. When the song is finished, coincidentally so are the dumplings. It’s almost as if you’ve sung them to completion and you know they’ll taste all the better for it.

Alright another update on my descent into Hyrule warriors hell

I still can’t beat the level to get Volga’s first weapon upgrade

I haven’t even FOUND young link’s OR King Daphnes’s first weapon upgrades that shit doesn’t seem to exist. I found the third one for both of them, but that doesn’t really help me if I can’t find the first ones????

I have Ghirahim’s all black outfit and I am literally squealing and giggling and kicking my feet he looks SO GOOD

Still in the process of going back and getting all the stuff I skipped over/couldn’t get during my blitz through the first two maps, but I’m making a lot of progress on heart containers.

I now have 3 fairies with the revival ability and one with a health regen one. I don’t really understand how they work outside of that. They’re here to get me up after someone smacks me in a no-heal one-hit-death map which there are TOO MANY OF

Speaking of maps where if you get hit you instantly perish, spinner upgrade is the enemy. I WANT A LEVEL THREE SPINNER I LOVE THE SPINNER ITS MY FAVORITE LINK WEAPON BUT I NEED TO BEAT A WHOKE MAP EITHOUT GETTING HIT ;_; just let me beyblade game please

Uhhhhh oh yeah, in a video I watched about all the weapons the guy said the dominion rod was mid and I think he’s just a coward I LOVE that thing! Dominion rod FUCKS dude

I don’t know how to unlock the abilities on the master sword and at this point I’m too afraid to ask

Speaking of power creep, somehow Skull Kid has become the most powerful character in my arsenal right now. I just happened to get some awesome weapon drops after upgrading his ocarina and now I have a 392 power weapon with really great abilities, he just carves through maps like it’s nobodies business??? Little dude is COOKING

I finally figured out Zant’s gimmick and I feel a tad bit silly for not understanding it earlier (you have to use the gauge ability once it fills or else he falls on his face when you try to do something else. I was out here just thinking he was clumsy)

I have a random unlocked ability on Linkle’s crossbows that I’ve been transferring through every upgrade because it’s really funny. I call it the “fuck them kids” ability cause it increases damage on specifically skull kid and toon link (and tingle but he’s very rarely utilized as an opponent so I forget he’s in the termina classification—and why even is he in the termina classification he’s been in so many games? He has is own games???)
