It all started when they were 5.

She was furiously coloring the tree in her brand new coloring book. The leaves on the tree needed to be as green as could be because green was her absolute favorite color. During her attempt at making the greenest tree ever, her crayon snapped in two.

A/N: This little story has been sitting in my Notes app for a long time. It's the first story I ever wrote but never had the nerves to post, but with lots of encouragement from @jhsgf82 I am sharing it with y'all now.

OK, really hard to choose just 5. I mean there are so many great creators on here. I will just go with the first 5 that come to mind. Here goes!

First let me just say my absolute fave creator has to be @little-lynx. Her work is so detailed, so accurate. She nails the essence of the characters every time in her illustrations. And she's an absolute darling. So down to earth and friendly. Here is a link to one of my fave drawings of hers. The Boys

Next I would have to say the fanfic writer BlueMaple is currently writing a wonderful THG time travel/redo fic about Katniss going back in time and correcting/trying to correct all her mistakes. Its called Afterburn. Its not just a rehashing of the book, or like anything I've ever read so far. It's truly inspired. I would link it here but she doesn't want anyone sharing links of her work. SO I'm just gonna say look it up on AO3. Its incredible.

Next I would like to give a well deserved shout out to my wonderful bilingual friend Elisza94 Her fic Owning Me is only made more unbelievable by the fact that English isn't her first language. But honestly the fic she has written about brother and sister victors Cashmere and Gloss is some of the best tragic/hopeful writing I have seen in the entire fandom. I'm obsessed with her story.

Also @ombradellaluna 's Mellark family Christmas illustrations hold a special place in my heart, it is a masterful rendition of exactly what I imagine Christmas would look like for them.

Lastly can I just say I love @mrspeetamellark 's fics, but also her fic aesthetics? Like the woman is a double, no triple threat because she's 1, a brilliant writer, 2 great at editing pics and putting together fic aesthetics that set the entire MOOD for the story, and 3 she's a really sweet person in general. Just so nice and leaves the best reviews on other people's works. Here's my fave fic of hers: Academia

She took a deep breath, then rapped on the front door of Mellark house. Waiting to be let in, she gave herself a mental talking-to. Courage, she thought. You are capable of doing this.

Mellark's man, Boggs, opened the door. He was a difficult man to read (as good servants were supposed to be), but Katniss always felt welcome when making an appearance at the house. There were people in the village who didn't approve of her position in a man's role, but she didn't believe Boggs to be one of them.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Everdeen. Mr. Mellark is expecting you. Do come in. I shall let him know of your arrival. He is in the midst of a meeting, so it may be a moment."

"I'm not interrupting?"

Boggs shook his head. "No, Ms. Everdeen. Mr. Mellark was insistent on seeing you today. Mr. Heavensbee was an unexpected arrival."

Hotel Paper Deux - both Katniss & Peeta die (I cried the entire time writing it and I was sick out of my mind with bronchitis at the time)

I love HEA, I'm such a sap really the one I love the most is Sorrowful Angel because of the mud fight at the cemetery.

Do you write crossovers? If yes, what’s the craziest thing you’ve written?

I think this is a crossover where I took the plot of Twelfth Night and plopped Hunger Games Characters and I did use characters from Shaakepheres Book too.

Yes with a side of harsh criticism....just go to Wild Horses Katniss cheated on Peeta --- yup - yup not saying anything else.

Don't you mean Pie lol. I've written smut for the sake of smut but I like writing including it in stories...I don't think I'm like graphic though...IDK

What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Hangs head. Katniss Everdeen is Not a Stalker. I have to find a way to finish - the problem that I have to figure out who dies. And I know no one wants their favorites to die but it's war Peacock!

What’s your writing strengths?

To be honest I plot like there's no tomorrow. I do research and I when I write you'll see the influences of what I researched. I'm also pretty goofy as you get to know me and I like writing that sort of humor in my writing.

What’s your writing weaknesses?

My weakness is my dyslexia, to be honest, and it affects my spelling and grammar because well I write things backward, kind of like Yoda. I panic when I have someone who's never seen my material in the raw. Because I'm like they are going to think I'm an IDIOT.

But I'm always working on my writing so I'm working on imagery and quick world-building. There are a few writers on here that I wish I wrote like...yeah I've dropped a few anon-stalking-love you notes. lol

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

I'm multi-Lingual so it doesn't bother me. I think it's a great thing to write a bi-or even tri-lingual fic

To be fair it's always the story I'm currently working on - but if to be fair a story that I love it has to be a toss between Sorrowful Angels, Chosen One, and Como Duele.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

Yes, I do! I love hearing from readers. While I’ve never changed a fic because of a comment, reader’s opinions definitely play a role in my editing process.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I don’t write angsty endings, although some readers were a bit put off at the end of The Ghost and Mrs. Hawthorne.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Hard to say as they all end happy.

Do you write crossovers? If yes, what’s the craziest thing you’ve written?

No crossovers, but I took the plot of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (a book and movie) and re-wrote it as The Ghost And Mrs. Hawthorne adding a twist of my own to the story.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Not major hate, but some readers were very upset when Katniss “friend- zoned” Peeta in The Unexpected Year because he was overweight. Oh yeah, and then she slept with him, too, and got pregnant. Readers don’t like it when Katniss does Peeta wrong.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Nope.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I’m aware of, although several years back I was googling my name and found a story called “Gold Rush Girl” by MTK4FUN followed by a few sentences in a foreign language. As I’ve never written a story with that title, I wondered if someone stole Argonauts And Allies, changed the name, and was publishing it in another country. At least they were giving me credit for writing it, LOL -- although not any money.

No

Have you ever co-written a fic?

No, although I did participate once in a fic posted on tumblr in which each person wrote a single chapter but we didn’t know what the others were writing.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Everlark.

What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I don’t have any WIPs. I don’t post anything until the story is completely written.

What’s your writing strengths?

I’m a panster writer which means I don’t outline. I think my strength is that I can start with a scene and turn it into an entire story. I also try to be accurate in my stories (if they’re historical in nature). And I think I’m humorous (at least I laugh at my own jokes).

What’s your writing weaknesses?

 I’m lazy. I have to set a timer and play all kinds of head games to make myself write.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

I like to read it, but I’ve never done it.

I love The Shimmering Colors Between Two Worlds because I love time travel. It is the one story I wish I could jump into.

Maybe it's because I'm trapped inside this room with nothing else to occupy my time, but everything taunts me. Smells of food wafting down the corridors I can't eat, splashes of water from the sink in my room from which I can never drink. God, I wish I could have one sip of water, not the continuous drip of fluids from the IVs keeping me alive.

I'm awake. They don't know I'm awake.

I dream of escape from this body that's become a sack of meat, chaining me with its worthless limbs and frozen muscles. I want to be myself again, living my life.

The first light burrows its way beneath the blinds of this room in those early morning hours before my team arrives to poke and prod and wonder if they can wake me again. I wish the nurses would open those windows. I want to feel the outside air on my skin. The heat of the sun would warm my toes, and I would curl them against the bedsheets.

Last night, I had a visitor. Not a member of the medical staff, but a man who's voice I didn't recognize. I assume he was old, he sounded old, but he didn't approach the limited span of my vision, what I can make out behind half-closed eyelids. The man lowered himself into the chair at my bedside, joints popping and groaning in protest, until finally landing on the understuffed seat pad. "What a piece of shit," he muttered, shifting about and making the springs beneath his ass protest. If I could have laughed I would have laughed.

I waited (obviously) for him to get around to whatever brought him to visit a comatose patient. He sifted around in a sack of some sort, speaking to himself, until he sighed again upon finding the object of his search. "There she is."

I heard a match strike and light with a hiss. The man set the match to what I now know was a candle; now that it is daylight again, I can make out the singed wick of the very same one. So it was no dream.

"There is a way out, you know," he said as if to himself. "A doorway to another place. A path homeward through the tiny flame. You just have to believe."

I hope the staff don't take my candle along with the dirty sheets and catheter tube after they change me. I don't know what the old man was or what his visit meant, but I'd like time to consider the possibilities before resigning myself to my fate.

3. and because i know we’re all egocentric, have you ever made yourself laugh out loud or cry with a fic you wrote?  

I've never made myself cry (probably because I mostly write fluff and if I'm crying over the kind of fluff I write, something is seriously wrong), but I have made myself laugh. I normally keep those parts when editing 😊  

However, I have received comments that are so kind they make me tear up. Shout out to all the commenters out there - it's so lovely and motivational to get a kind comment. 

6.what is your favourite sense to incorporate in your writing and why? 

I like to incorporate smell because it's so strongly associated with memory and hopefully helps bring my stories alive.  

10.what word do you keep using like it’s going out of style? 

“Okay.” I have to go back and edit to cut this word out so there aren't too many!
