It’s kind of embarrassing when you are quite literally a professional gardener who is studying for a degree in horticulture but you can’t even bring yourself to weed the tiny bit of your garden over which you have sole responsibility because you are a lazy shitebag who is often afflicted with a general summer malaise. However, today, the embarrassment of inaction became too much and spurred me into action. Grass, be gone!

The bees absolutely lost their minds for the flowers on this shrub in our front yard. Any time you walked past for the entire month of May, it was like the shrub itself was making a loud buzzing noise.

Back in my max debryn era and by that I mean doing some actual gardening for my own garden. Ironically studying horticulture and working as a gardener means I have had little time to garden…
But I had an unexpected day off today and we are so back. I sowed some seeds, did a very minor bit of weeding and pruning, finally planted an Enkianthus campanulatus (an absolute darling of a plant) that I bought months ago…
[If you’re thinking ‘that border looks ugly as hell what’s with the design or lack there of” well I understand where you’re coming from and basically this started as a bee garden (random plants that bees like) then I started actually learning about plants so I’m slowly just filling it in with things I enjoy/find cool, especially from a taxonomic standpoint. Need to get some solanaceae in there and then I’ll be happy :) though I did sow some Physalis today so if that works I will be a happy chappy indeed :D ]
