Phew. Just got down pouring resin in the garage - the interiors of 4 drinking horns and a couple of jewelry molds.
I'm unclear whether the resin will cure properly though? It's Envirotex Lite that's...3-ish years old. I knew the hardener was yellowed, which doesn't affect anything, but the other part had...crystalized chunks in it? Which I didn't notice until I'd already started using it. So, we'll see? In the meantime, they're in the fume hood contraption in my room, since they'll cure better in a warm environment.

DIY Resin Tray Art Idea! (Easy Instructions Using EnviroTex Lite Resin)
Tumblr media
I LOVE this QUICK and EASY DIY Resin Tray Art Idea using EnviroTex Lite resin and acrylic craft paints. With written instructions and video.
I LOVE This Easy DIY Resin Tray Idea I’ve had crafting with resin on my to-do list for such a long time. But I have to admit, I was kind of scared. Mixing liquids together that magically harden into awesomeness had to be complicated, right?
Wrong! It was so easy, guys!

I resin-coated the back of my Herbie!
A friend has a lot of these types of enamel keychains & the art is all chipped after having them in her bag for a year 😭 To protect @spookdoodles art from this fate, he is now fully sealed (and the tiny defects that made this a "second" are invisible... just the defects in the resin that are my own fault XD). Now I can abuse him to my heart's content!
*stuffs him in a bag of sharp keys & shakes it*

Oh hey! I just realized I completely forgot to post this!
I made this scene for an ambush on a bridge for my D&D game. The bandit leader waited until they pulled their carriage into the narrow bridge where there was no escape for them.
It was a pretty simple build, just 2" slabs of XPS foam, cut up on the Proxxon hot wire table, glued, painted, and flocked. The river is a separate board, where I melted the river bed into the board with a heat gun. The water is EnviroTex Lite resin with a few drops of turquoise ink, and a stipple layer of high gloss Modpodge for the ripple effect.
The terrain trees were made by a friend, so they're not mine, but the ruined archways are mine.
I've got some WIP pics, too. Let me know if you want me to post those.

Putting together a new vest so I made some pins out of stickers I had on hand 😊👍
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I layered the MHA stickers with some inspirational personal planner stickers I got on clearance from Michael's, and I ended up with some sticker collage compositions that I liked.
I used info in these two posts
I ended up using a perler bead board, envirotex lite resin, and pin backs (all purchased from Michael's, I'm lazy, the store is literally at the end of my block).
Overall the process was straightforward; I am a messy crafter (as you can see by my desk, lol) and definitely made noob mistakes but overall this was really doable for my first time using poured resin for crafting.
I did flood the All Might pin with a bit too much resin, there was overflow but it worked out in the end (it's a bit of a challenge to find the balance between slow enough to dome and fast enough to get them all done before the resin starts to set).
I got experimental with Himiko and shoved some glitter stars and hearts into the resin, I like how it turned out but I was worried I messed it up at first because I introduced some bubbles that were a bitch to get out. Oh, also, my white craft paint is extremely old and painting the backs was a bit of a pain, so definitely if you do this keep in mind shitty old paint sucks to work with. 😆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. The stickers "floating" on the perler board
2. The domed stickers ready to be painted
3. Painting the backs
4. Ready to resin the backs (I kept them on the board just in case there was a bit of overflow as the resin settled, so it would drip off and not stick the whole thing to the surface it was on, this turned out to be an excellent idea as All Might, being the longest of them at 4"x 1.5" had a bit of an overflow, again, whoops. Aizawa is 3" x 2.5", Toga is 3.25" x 2").
5. After the resin set for 20 min I set the pin backs into resin, which is awesome because those suckers are in there. Like, you would have to destroy the whole pin to get the pin back out, and I am astonished at how sturdy these are overall.
Tumblr media
10/10 definitely would do this again 😁👍
