Our sweet Murphy went to see Dr. Lyndsey today. He has been having more frequent seizures, he went in to get bloodwork. We also had a tracheal/chest xray done. Murphy's seizure meds were increased. We also tested his thyroid and it is low. He has been coughing quite a bit and more lethargic. His heart is enlarged on one side and his trachea is narrowed at the entry point of the lungs. His heart possibly shows scarring from 2nd hand smoke which he lived in his whole life. Murphy was put on Salix for this week which is used for congestive heart failure and we are monitoring to see any improvement in cough. If so then we will continue to treat for CHF. Murphy needs a dental horribly but has to wait until his he is feeling a bit better in a few weeks. When he has his dental we will also send away for a full thyroid panel to test if it truly is a thyorid condition or side effect from having a lifetime of illness. We will have more updates on this sweetpea in the next week. Be Murphy's hero, please donate to his vet/medical bills. Brotherly love🥰 #storm🇧🇻 had a really bad #epilepticseizure today! Big one! Awful! I hate when that happens.. #canto🇧🇻 was really scared...but he stood by his big brother every step of the way... Storm gets very #agressive when it hapoens and he soesn't know that he does...So Canto tries to get away from him when that goes on...then all the tremours sets in and Storm is completely helpless for minutes and minutes...so I give him medicine and I hold him close to me until it is over and then we go outside for some fresh air and then inside to drink water and to relax, because it is hard for him...he sleeps for hours after it happens... #epilepticdogs #stormgotepilepsy poor baby😔💖💖 https://www.instagram.com/p/B--Couwpgq7/?igshid=5ts3ih30mdpq

Mr. Murphy had a breakthrough seizure yesterday. He takes medicines to control his epilepsy but every few months he will have a tiny one. He recovers quickly but we never like to see it happen. Murphy and Dink were taken this morning to our local nursing home! They were fan favorites! Murphy especially made an impression on the senior hoomans and Dink was sweet as can be.
