Caríssimas, dedico essa análise a vós, Tyongfs, que muito em breve ficarão dois anos sem sequer ouvir falar de Taeyong - embora tendo sorte o suficiente, recebemos um novo mini álbum antes do alistamento. Minha intenção aqui é analisar, para além dos teasers que vimos de TAP, a construção de imagem pela qual Taeyong passou durante os anos em que esteve na mídia até então, sobretudo por meio dos seus dois mini álbuns (Shalala e agora TAP).

Como já devem ter percebido, sou entusiasta de NCT e grandessíssima nerd do que diz respeito a pesquisar detalhes sobre criações e projetos artísticos. Tudo aqui escrito é na maior intenção de respeitar o trabalho dos artistas envolvidos, e mesmo que eu seja profissional da área também, é óbvio que posso estar equivocada em algumas colocações; quando se trata de imagem muitas coisas são subjetivas!

Vamos começar do ínicio:

Introdução: Shalala

No que diz respeito ao primeiro mini do Taeyong, vamos ser sucintos: não foi nada além do que o esperado de um projeto feito pelas mãos da SM.

Vejamos que, por mais que a empresa tenha nos engodado com todas as referências ao TY, é muito óbvio que ela não desvincularia o Taeyong do NCT por três motivos: primeiro, porque isso deixaria as fãs irritadas; segundo porque o Taeyong é, afinal, o face of the group - é ele o eleito a carregar a marca do NCT, mais do que qualquer outro membro; terceiro: $$$, questões comerciais e contratuais.

Esses dias para trás, comentei que tinha dificuldade de encontrar um conceito que combinasse com o Taeyong. Falava sobre eu mesma fazer um projeto para ele, se um dia fosse possível. É difícil desligar a imagem do Taeyong do NCT porque ela foi muito bem construída: o Taeyong vestir verde na capa de Shalala e ter o cabelo verde neon no MV não acontecem por acaso. Não é por acaso que Shalala, inclusive, é a música título do mini e não qualquer outra mais autoral. É porque o Taeyong, mesmo como artista solo, precisa atrair olhares para o NCT também. Então, dificilmente (vamos ver o que o futuro nos guarda) a SM faria algo tão "tiro no pé" como tirar o Taeyong do personagem que foi muito bem curado desde o início da carreira dele.

Sim, entramos no assunto da vibe assustadora, fria, e outros adjetivos que o Taeyong carregava quando o NCT debutou. Ao longo dos anos, a SM foi moldando esse personagem ao agrado do público, o que resultou na imagem que temos do Taeyong de agora: ele é meigo, mas é carismático, ele é sensível, mas é dinâmico e assertivo. E ele não é coisa alguma; ele é quem a SM quer que ele seja. Nesse caso, o que era para ser Tsundere virou algo mais caricato, e preciso dizer que é genial, porque permite que a empresa trabalhe num artista que é como uma tela em branco, que tem facilidade de se encaixar em conceitos.

Shalala é um MV muito bom. Ele é uma coisa meio paródia, meio algo que não deve ser levado tão a sério quanto as outras músicas, ele tem cores muito fortes, tem iluminação dramática e tem as referências nerdolas que o Taeyong costuma colocar nas músicas dele - e que são coisas que ele fala com as fãs também, então nos leva a acreditar que pelo menos isso é real da personalidade dele. Para fechar: o conceito de Shalala (e isso a gente pode ver nas imagens teaser) é o de que o Taeyong pode ser qualquer coisa. E ele pode, rs.

1. TAP

Espero que até essa análise ver a luz do dia, Tap ainda não tenha sido lançada, para eu não me parecer com uma palhaça e ter de reescrever o que escrevi, kkkkk.

Ao que tudo indica, Tap caminha na mesma direção de Shalala. Ainda trabalhando nesse conceito de persona, em que o Taeyong aparece "searching for TY", o eu artista dele, que representa tudo o que acabei de escrever acima. Não abandonamos o verde neon do NCT, o que pode ser uma prova do que analisei. Acho justo. Talvez, se a SM quisesse fazer um conceito tão diferente (do que, digamos, ela vem construindo) nos causasse estranheza.

Confesso que de início não gostei, mas agora pensando em todos esses pontos, comprei a ideia, porque é um conceito bem feito. A continuidade das referências - obviamente nós ainda temos coisas que flertam com o universo geek - é muito bom, porque é basicamente um tema que se repete nas músicas do Taeyong, então fugir demais disso geraria um pequenino ruído de imagem (embora nada contra, no futuro, quererem mudar esse tema).

A primeira leva de teasers não me conquistou muito, como comentei anteriormente, apesar do conceito ser ótimo e serem belas imagens (ai, como ela é chata). Maaas as imagens teaser do MV me pegaram de surpresa porque eu esperava algo mais dramático, na linha de Shalala, com cores fortes e bastante contraste, sombras, etc, aquela coisa bem Neo (sem outra palavra para descrever). Mas aí vieram fotos com cores em tons pastéis e me lembrei de Love Theory & Long Flight, fiquei "opa!" Porque de certa forma isso quebrou a expectativa que me foi criada com as imagens anteriores.

O teaser em vídeo acabou de sair, e me levou a acreditar que, sim, vai seguir na linha de Shalala - o que se acontecer, vai me deixar muito feliz!

Quando o Taeyong lançou o álbum de Shalala, eu fiquei martelando um plot na minha cabeça por causa do mv de Gwando. Envolvia mta mitologia grega (o Taeyong era um filho desprezado do Hades e da Perséfone que vivia no jardim da mãe) e a pp morava numa casa cottagecore vibes, daí ela encontrava com ele quando era criança e ele dizia que voltaria dalí uns anos, e ele realmente volta no aniversário dela de 19 anos e rola mtas coisinhas fofas do tipo luz do sol batendo nos rostos, bochechas coradinhas, moranguinhos e estética de verão. Another Song Analysis!

Little Illusion Machine – Analysis

Disclaimer – as always this is my assumption. I’m not saying it’s fact! But I am working with the assumption that Alex and Miles’ sexual relationship began around the recording of The Age of the Understatement in 2008 and continued on and off from then on.

Little Illusion Machine was a B side to Hellcat Spangled Shalala by Miles Kane and the Death Ramps released in August 2011

Okay I am assuming this part of the  song is from Miles’ point of view seeing as he is from Birkenhead which is on the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside. So given that I think this song is about coming to terms with being gay/bi we can assume his first sexual experiences would have been in his hometown. Swinging from room to room, could be referring to going from men to women.

I think this is self-explanatory. By this time, Alex was in his SIAS era cute boy next door, perfect boyfriend image. Which given that I am working under the assumption that Alex is bisexual, this is of course an illusion and Miles is desperate to see him.

I think this refers to Alex having sex with Miles. Interestingly Alex sings the line ‘he’s ridden the riddle, he’ll do it again’.  Like he is talking about himself and the riddle is Miles.  The line ‘riding through the gloom, something beautiful’ could have many meanings. Just that the experience is beautiful, or for the fact that when they perform it live, Miles points to Alex – it’s kind of obvious!

I tried it and I liked it, but it never gets close enough, I think is sung from Miles’ point of view and is talking about heterosexual sex, especially when the next line is him asking Alex to contact him.

So, a short and simple one. In a nutshell, Miles prefers gay sex which he first experienced when he was younger.  Alex has been on the Kane Train and likes it and they’re both looking forward to their next hook up.

this season was great with really nice and likeable cast and the dynamic between them was really priceless

even tho I believe the story and world building could be done way (even more screen time for Skyland and it's characters like Beryberie and Captain Shalala [why didn't we get more from Shalala she looked so awesome c'mon Toei] ) it was still very enjoyable! definitely the best Precure season from the 2020 era

Hirogaru Sky! Precure Episode 22 Review: Battamonda's Nefarious Scheme

Holy crap. HOLY CRAP! I’m baffled. I had a feeling Captain Shalala was going to be a villain, but not like this! This also makes Battamonda a lot more nefarious than I gave him credit for! I’m just shocked about what’s going to happen with the Precures now.

Remember how in my previous review that Battamonda felt a bit underwhelming after this debut? This episode came and smacked me to retract that statement. This villain is, by far, more scheming and evil than Kabaton. Heck, Kabaton feels like child’s play compared to Battamonda now. I can’t believe Battamonda would do this for such a petty reason. The reason why he’s more focused on defeating the Precures rather than capturing Princess Ellee is because of the terrifying expression Cure Sky gave to him off-screen back in Episode 15. Because of that, he’d been holding a grudge on her ever since. He had found an unconscious and heavily wounded Captain Shalala after he had retreated and made her into a Ranborg.

Captain Shalala became an unwilling villain. She’s the first human turned Ranborg. Her life energy is being contained by Underg Energy. If the Precures were to purify her, it’d be the end of her. How dastardly. How are the Precures going to purify the Ranborg while not hurting Captain Shalala in the process?

Because of this revelation, Cure Sky breaks down. While she seems strong, her willpower is a lot more vulnerable than to be expected. She looked up to Shalala a lot, so for her to lose her idol would be despairing for her. This is the start of her depression arc, befitting of any anime MC. What will happen now that her Mirage Pen disintegrated and her Tone Connect became dull? I think that she will regain her determination on what it means to become a hero. After all, becoming a Precure means standing up for what’s right; that was the bravery Sora showed since the first episode and why Ellee chose her to become a Precure. How long will this depression era last? 

There’s a new eyecatch and a new ending song! The eyecatch is cute. The ending song is soothing. However, if you noticed the dance, there’s a big gap in the spot next to Cure Wing. There’s also a segment where there are five lights shooting towards the sky. There’s blue, light pink, orange, dark pink and…purple? Is this foreshadowing a fifth Precure? Is it Ellee or another candidate? What could it be?

I hope Sora comes to her senses soon. I know that it’s heart wrenching to see the person you admire in peril, but I know that everything comes with consequences. I hope that Sora understands that Shalala would want her to save her even if it means hurting her. Her last words to Sora were “Never falter, Hero Girl”. I hope she gains that will to be unfaltering.

Hello, I wanted to post this so people can find this in nearly every location possible, please share. (...I know this may seem like a very odd post to y'all hypno lullaby fans but I helped find this so I'm sorry for the out of place post LOL)

This was previously lost media in the Halley Labs/Lapfox Trax/Vulpvibe community. The owner of the CD reached out to me and uploaded it, and I took the time to organize it, upload it, & put it on the wiki as a download.

So here it is, the 15 years in the waiting, Omicron Complex CD rip in WAV & MP3.

"This is the CD rip of Omicron Complex. This CD was originally bought on Cafepress for about $10 in June of 2008.

--> I bought Omicron Complex, I Prefer The Sky, and an "Eat Me" shirt all from Cafepress. I still own all of them. All of the above items were bought with my first paycheck ever totalling to about $35. It was the whole 2 week paycheck and I spent it on Vulpvibe Records. These items are VERY sentimental. I still remember the first time listening to all of the tracks in my mom's truck going to a fair. Mom was not a fan. (lol)

I initially was going to release everything in 2009 when I uploaded the initial videos, but I had multiple people requesting I download X and Y software for higher and higher quality rips. It just seemed they were not in it for the music.

I became an evil villain for years. Way too many years.

Recently I found an arcade dumper that had a piece of hardware I used to own. They are refusing to dump it. Saying they will dump it in 10 years to never. It put me into perspective that this is just me with this CD. I didn't create this music, but I did pay for it and don't have to share it. Similar to this arcade dumper. However, there are furries that like Vulpvibe and later eras as much as I did that were out of the loop or too young to buy this music. Why punish them for liking this great music?

Renard shaped my childhood. Introducing me to all of the music in Mungyodance, the music making process, using samples, identifying samples... (I recommended the ShaLaLa Vengaboy sample in "Go to the Party". Staying up to 3a-4a on Youtube pays off. <3). Mungyodance 1&2 was in an ITG2 cabinet I went to as a kid and introduced me to Fur Affinity & FURRIES through Renard's FA account. Literally Renard completely changed my life. I am still a HUGE fan of Mungyodance 15 years after its death.

Keeping this CD "lost" meant that people were still interested in the era that meant so much in my life. It's really immature of me to think that way, but here we are 15 years after release.

I apologize to everyone including Renard/Emma. Here is the release. Better late than never.

Just promise me that you will remember the old stuff and play a game of Mungyodance.

TAP: Análise completa

Caríssimas, o título já diz a que vim. Só quero, mais uma vez, deixar explícito que aqui até pode constar um pouco de análise técnica, mas ainda assim é tudo baseado na minha opinião.

Introdução

Bom dia para quem é Tyongf! Quem não é, só lamento...

Então veio até nós através da SM e, óbvio, do trabalho do Taeyong, o segundo álbum solo do querido. No post precedente, me detive a comentar sobre os teasers e um pouco da construção da imagem do Taeyong como Idol - a qual acho curiosa ao mesmo tempo que bem feita - para que pudéssemos entender TAP melhor.

O que tem a ver uma coisa com a outra? Bem, é como uma marca fazer/apresentar algo que não condiz com seus valores. Nós precisamos entender de onde começam as ideias criativas para a imagem do Taeyong e para onde elas caminham, para que haja coerência. Mesmo que um artista possua "eras", ainda assim, no fundo, precisa haver coerência na imagem dele.

Ai, Klim, mas por que você fala de imagem e não analisa o álbum inteiro, canção por canção?

Bom, até posso dar uma pincelada do que achei do álbum, só que, eu não sou música e o Taeyong não me contou o que aconteceu quando ele estava compondo, então, se eu fosse analisar as músicas, com certeza iria para um lugar muito poético, que seria somente eu falando e não teria mais o Taeyong, entende? Tudo isso é muito subjetivo. Infelizmente alguém pode mal interpretar o que eu disser ou eu mesma posso cruzar uns limites que não me cabem, e eu não tenho interesse na vida pessoal do Taeyong, mas da imagem dele como Idol apenas.

Análise do MV

Preciso começar comentando que o ritmo de um clipe de música é muito diferente do de um filme. Um clipe de música geralmente conta uma história curta e no caso de TAP bem curta diga-se de passagem, então, para uma equipe mostrar o que acontece nessa história ela vai precisar (nem sempre, ok, existem as exceções, tudo depende do que a equipe está pensando) de artifícios para contar a história em menos tempo. Geralmente nos MV's de Kpop tudo acontece rápido, vários cortes, várias jogadas de câmera, porque é um gênero e um estilo de vídeo que tenta condensar em alguns minutos muita informação (o que inclusive dá a ele o apelido de "super produzido" e sem sentido).

O que nós vemos a respeito do ritmo de TAP é que não há uma história tão definida quanto Shalala, mas elementos que se repetem e nos trazem a conexão de pontos entre uma cena e outra, sacam? É uma narrativa mais quebradinha, mas tem coerência (o que é muito comum nos MV's do NCT, inclusive!). As cenas vão e voltam, vão e voltam, algumas se misturam e tudo acontece rápido. Se não prestarmos atenção, por exemplo, que no início do MV o Taeyong está escolhendo as roupas que ele irá usar na sauna/casa de banho, realmente a cena neste ambiente fica completamente desconexa - aliás, o Taeyong também aparece pegando um daqueles brindes de máquina logo no início, uma cena que só se desenvolve mais adiante.

Existem inúmeras formas de como contar histórias no audiovisual a partir da ligação entre ritmo e estética. Tudo depende da visão do diretor e sua equipe, mas para explicar eu teria que abrir parênteses muito grandes, que podem caber num post apenas para tal.

Seguimos: como explicado acima, o clipe têm vários cortes para mostrar a narrativa de vários ângulos, mas nada que cause motion sickness. Também gostei do efeito de acelerar que o editor usou em algumas cenas, combinou com a vibe engraçadinha do clipe.

Nós temos um total de 5 ambientes diferentes no vídeo: a casa do Taeyong, a sauna/casa de banho, a doceria, o "fliperama" e o meio da rua. Para quem não costuma gravar ou editar, saiba que isso é muita coisa, que demanda muita atenção e trabalho. Agora, os ambientes conversam com a narrativa da música? A historinha do vídeoclipe se trata da saga do Taeyong tentando comer dango. A única coisa que consegui fazer relação de cara é a cena do molho vs o verso "I´m saucing on you." Talvez eu precise assistir mais vezes para ter algum insight sobre isso.

A música tem um tom engraçadinho e acho que foi por aí que o diretor caminhou, como em Shalala, uma espécie de paródia; é para ser tosco e satírico (mesmo que bem feito). Devo comentar a inclusão de vários elementos de design gráfico no MV, nos pôsteres e legendas que aparecem ao longo do vídeo! É uma coisa que gosto nos meus próprios trabalhos, acho que dá um tom autêntico e divertido.

Quanto a estética em si, o que comentar? O vídeo é muito bonito visualmente, embora não chega a entrar na minha categoria de deleite visual (lógico que isso vai do gosto de cada um). Tive dificuldades de encontrar as referências, fiquei com dúvida em algumas. Por exemplo: era para o vídeo ter uma vibe 90s ou estou ficando maluca? Quanto a coerência, achei bem coerente com a imagem do Taeyong que já comentei na análise prévia. As cores variam bastante entre tons pastéis e tons vibrantes, diferente de Shalala que tem um filtro quente aplicado e é bem saturado. Agora, em quesito de caracterização eu amei ver o Taeyong assumindo tantas personas novamente, é quase a praxe.

Pensamentos sobre o álbum

Ah! Acho que o Taeyong amadureceu tanto vocalmente! Minha favorita é certamente Ups and Downs, a voz dele está in-crí-vel nela, mas não posso deixar de mencionar que TAP é excelente música título, foi feita para ele.

Ademais... Não consigo ouvir o álbum em sequência porque a vibe dele é não me matem tão tristinha kkkkk que eu fico pensando na vida e fico triste. Menção honrosa a 404 Loading... É como subir numa escada infinita para o céu, que música!

Vou reclamar um tiquinho da organização, desde o primeiro álbum. Apesar de ser algo que eu, particularmente, penso que a SM peca demais. É sempre a título comercial demais que não fala muito sobre o resto do álbum, não faz uma boa abertura, não introduz a narrativa. Mas, mas, também sei que parte da decisão das músicas veio do querido do Taeyong, então só por isso não vou reclamar tanto, rs.
