If its no trouble, could you add X6 to the sole almost dying post? I adore the way you write X6, everyone always either writes him as an emotionless wall who's only interested in his mission and the institute or they dont write for him at all, so your blog is like a breath of fresh air

X6-88 doesn’t mind running errands for settlements, not really. It makes him feel useful and they don’t all require him to decimate a raiders den, which gives him time to grow. To cultivate. He does mind that Sole is the one they’re asking, too afraid to even look at him, and they accept it every time.

He understands now the value of helping eachother and how humanity together can thrive despite the ruins around them, thanks to Sole, but Sole is special. Sole can be so much more than an errandrunner. They have it in them to run the world but they keep getting held back by minor issues.

Such as finding a kidnapped settler who’s been kidnapped for the third time. X6-88 suspects, and has shared the suspicion of course, that the settler isn’t really getting kidnapped. Maybe they’ve fallen inlove or they’ve changed their allegiance. Perhaps someone else has sold them. Either way, the settlements are always protected by guards and turrets and it doesn’t make sense that people dissapear.

But Sole still comes through and finds them tied up in a basement somewhere, protected by dozens of raiders. By now it runs like clockwork and all they have to do is pick up the kidnapped settler and get back to their home but it seems that the raiders have figured out the pattern.

He knows he should’ve paid more attention and he knows it’s all his fault. Someone creeps up behind him and hits him hard enough to knock him to his knees but not hard enough to knock him unconscious. Still, it’s enough to create a path to Sole who ends up shot twice in the chest.

The settler gets shot as well, debunking the theory that they were in on it, and it appears to have simply been a trap all along to catch Sole and kill them.

It takes a few moments for the room to stop spinning but X6-88 crawls towards Sole as they bleed out on the ground, desperately patting down his coat for a stimpak. On any other day before he met Sole he would’ve hunted down the raiders first and applied first aid second but Sole is different. He has no guiding light without them.

Instead he locates the wounds, determines that the bullets aren’t in the way of anything important and stimpaks the wounds shut. A surgery can be performed later but now they need to stop bleeding. He hates himself, all of a sudden. He feels a rage grow inside him that he’s not used to. He should’ve known better, been better.

Sole is pale and weak, only their breathing is really a sign of them still being there. He feels an unfamiliar knot in his throat, like he’s swallowed something far too big to process and his eyes ache. The basement they’re in is empty, he’s made sure of that now, and after he quickly makes sure the settler has passed away he sits by Soles place, holding their hand gently in his until they’re strong enough to get back up.

anyways, meet aetiliva tharn! she’s my OC that’s uhhh abnur tharn’s kid. doesn’t interact with him, much, though. or the rest of her family.

im not entirely sure why i got the idea to make her in the first place, considering that... when i first conceived the idea of making a tharn OC, elsweyr had not yet been released and i liked abnur tharn a LOT less than i do now. a lot, lot less. they kinda switched up his character in elsweyr, made him more... redeemable? likeable, in ways OTHER than “hehe... funney line.”... something like that.

but anyways, back to aetliva. she’s pretty normal as far as tharns go? i say normal loosely. it’s less of a matter of her being normal and more a matter of her not being off-the-shits like the rest of her family. ‘tis a spectrum

i made her a pinterest board a bit ago and since it’s almost 10 AM and i feel like im going to pass out, ill just copy her bio from there instead of rehashing more;

“the youngest child of the well-respected battlemage, abnur tharn. forthright. capable. levelheaded. simple in interests, and one for minding her own business, at least compared to typical tharn habits. gets into shit anyways. takes after her father's magical skills, second to an also-inherited (albeit neglected) political charisma and will. ex-advisor to her sister, septima tharn, and designated family errandrunner.”

she is also a strong candidate to be my daggerfall covenant hero, as i have no others i’d like to sacrifice for the role. i’d have to do some pretty heavy changes to the questline to suit her character and motivations, though, which absolutely do not include a future with emeric on the ruby throne. BUT, her having a History with septima tharn def leaves some potential..... hmm. to be explored.

Thinking of ways to help rescues during National Dog Week? We could ALWAYS use volunteers. Currently, our greatest need would be help with errand runners. Don’t have the room or time to foster? You can commit to one or two days a month and help transport our foster dogs to and from vet appointments at a time and day that’s convenient for you.
