Errant Signal - Night in the Woods (Spoilers!)

Night in the Woods is basically Ghost World meets Richard Scarry. Or maybe it's Clerks meets a Southern Gothic ghost story set in the rust belt. Or maybe it's Catcher in the Rye, but with a Sharkle.

Whatever the case, Night in the Woods is a pretty dense work, thematically, despite wearing its intentions on its sleeve. It wants to tell a relatable coming of age story, and it wants to tell the story of Possum Springs. But it does so in a way that has a lot of meat to dig into by relating the two. I kind of try to do that here, but the more I think about it the more there's stuff I didn't cover. Hm.

I was tagged by @miyamanga in a getting to know you meme thing so I shall respond! It’s a long one so I will do it after the cut.

When did I make this blog: May 2014 when I graduated college.  

How many blogs do I follow: 133 it seems. I mostly follow artists, writers (or those who give writing tips), literature blogs, philosophy blogs and an assortment of cool people. There’s also a few silly blogs that I enjoy that I follow.  

Do I get asks on a regular basis: No, but I’ve been getting some more recently. 

Aesthetic: I’m terrible with this question so I’m just going to hazard a few guesses. Anything literature or philosophy related and I love libraries so, if possible, a librarian/writer aesthetic. Lots of quills, fancy pens, journals.   I enjoy baroque artwork and I not so secretly desire having a piece in the study of a house I own one day.  I’m big into swords as well, mostly rapiers and sabers, which I want to master the use of someday, so I tend to have a lot of swords stuff. I’m a sucker for naturalist art mixed with sci-fi or fantasy feel to it, giving things an otherworldly look about it. Or just flowers and nature in general. Then I generally like a mixture between t-shirts and jeans with a button-down shirt and dress pants. I like business casual clothes, especially dress pants since they make you feel important and yet comfortable. My shirts tend to be nature, literature or video games related. Most of my jewelry as well, mostly shark teeth, amber, sea glass, cool game references or some sort of book reference. I do have the occasional flowing skirt or dress though, but it has to stand out somehow.  I’m a sucker for boat shoes, bandannas and messenger bags too, though I’ve always wanted a rucksack since I think it’d be easier to carry books that way.
