Proud the Robotics Professor smiled at his newest invention even if its purpose was a far simple one... he put on the last screw as he sighed in relief, feeling a slight tap on his shoulder and looking down at Reinhardt waving at him.

"Guess you were so busy you didn't notice me... next time I just sit down on the table you are working at."

A small smile appeared on his face...

"Its good that you are here, you can help me try out my newest invention... the sortynator."

He held a closed jar of beans and gave a confident look.

"This machine can guess the amounts of beans in this jar and sorts them by color... You could say its a good Mean bean machine."

A loud laughter came out of his mouth boasting proud, Reinhardt smiling at him brightly seeing how amused he is.

"How about you guess before I put them in how many Jellybeans are in here?"

He handed him the jar so Reinhardt could inspect it closely... lookin at each bean in the jar counting them and trying to find a solution.

"459 beans i would count."

"Lets see if you are right."

Erwin put all of the beans inside the invention, seeing them fly by and be sorted each by every color. the number up top being the total number of beans while the number down each part was how many colored are in their.

"460... very close, nice job."

The small compliment gave Reinhardt a smile.

"That invention is amazing though... can it sort more things than just beans."

"If I am working on it more, maybe papers, coffee beans in sorts and much more... but for now this is just the prototype... so then you didn't come here just to look upon my Invention, don't you."

"Oh right I wondered if you have time to get something to eat together for break... maybe spend some times together."

Erwin put an arm around him and nodded.

"For you I always have time."

And so they walked out the lab, leaving the invention behind and went to eat together. Erwin having a constant proud smile and shareing some more stupid puns he picked up to make Reinhardt smile and laugh... in all it was a good break from all the work he done.

Interrupted kiss

Fiddling at some of his usual machines Erwin sighed... it didn't turn out like he wanted the robot to look like. Looking back at his concept sketches he felt a tap on his shoulder... he didn't even notice that Reinhardt came into the room...

"Hard day?"

"No the students were actually splendid in class today, just personal projects don't go the way they should go."

"Hmm I know a way to cheer you up, remember the experiment you showed me once."

He quickly went to the back of the lab and pulled some cloth off something, revealing an alchemy set.

"My... you really took my advice for that potion serious... call me honored..."

A cheeky smiled appeared on Reinhardts face.

"Well I have to get your attention away from your work somehow... you seriously need to take more breaks."

A warm hearted chuckle escaped the Robotics professor.

"It is true... I do seem to care too much about my robots, but I do enjoy your little visits as well."

With some steps Erwin walked closer to him, seemingly less tense.

"Well Erwin... now that I have your attention... how about you grant me a kiss for good luck... I have to do some good deals today after all."

"I think... I can give you that."

Reinhardt was leaning a little against the table, a bit up so Erwin didn't have to lean down so much cause of the height difference... moving closer to one another .... yet before they could have an impact a certain smell in the air disturbed them both.

"Urgh... I think its the Potion who is going out of control."

"R-right I should have turned it off. "

He quickly turned off the flame and removed the potion sighing in relief as Erwin sighed.

"You should really be more carefull..."

"My bad...Oh god its that time already... guess I have to do without your kiss..."

"Its fine, stop by later and you get one."

"Wonder if once I come in you have this weird Mad scientist laugh again."

"Come on, I can't help it."

"Don't worry... I do like that about you, Erwin."

"Well then see you, stop by my lab when you can."

Reinhardt nodded and left Erwin back to his work.

Both didn't feel satisfied yet still had something to look forward to.

Touches Ask

It was just the usual staff meeting at NRC but Erwin was before in such a workflow that it was an inconvinience to be dragged away... he sat down next to Seraphim and Reinhardt to listen but... clearly it was noticable his thoughts were elsewhere.

“Mr. Fowler anything you can tell about the students?”

“Hmm? Oh of course.”

He took his time to calm and report his findings before sitting down... he still seemed very tense... untill he felt some warmth... Reinhardt put his hand on his as reassurance. With a small smile he took that offer and held it a little untill his thoughts calmed down and his Science brain could shut off. Untill he saw Seraphim look at them both a little judgemental and they silently both exchanged a smile.

After the meeting Reinhardt approache him.

“Seriously Mr. Fowler, you need to let your brain rest a little.”

“Can’t help it, the experiment was so close to finish... but you are right...duty comes first.”

“Would you mind If I watch the experiment you worked on?”

Erwin was surprised but nodded.

“I am glad each time someone does take interest in what I do... of course you can.”
