and.. ok so ive been rewatching iasip w my friend whos never seen it before which is like an incredible experience i keep apologizing on behalf of the show BUT anyway so rewatching the early seasons its kinda like... charlie is waay more evil in those early seasons right... or am i making that up. like doesnt he straight up attack dennis in season 1 or something.... and its not to say charlie doesnt attack people in later seasons but its portrayed as him being Unhinged rather than having a real malicious intent or something.. OH and he schemes the the gang gets held hostage episode is just charlie scheming and i love that for him so much. esp since hes also dyslexic/gets called the r slur a lot its like... charlie is still fucking smart u know. he hatches these plans and theres a reason to his madness and thats really important cause its ALL coping mechanisms AND hes very self aware he just doesnt care. he KNOWS half the shit he does is weird/socially unacceptable but he gave up on fitting in a while ago. i forgot the lore of his highschool and younger days exactly but ye.... hes always been ostracized. at one point u just accept thats ur fate, but u never stop being able to tell what is and isnt Weird u just learn to disregard it.

AND hes all in all really genuine (vs mac having that Tough Cool Guy persona, dennis ... being dennis, frank roleplaying as a poor, and well dee literally wants to be an actress) and that makes him especially vulnerable to the gangs ridicule but he still fits in with them! without having to pretend to be anyone he isnt! and a lot of his traits are just normal charlie things to them so its not like him just Existing is weird, and his weirdness gets celebrated at times! like when hes assigned wildcard, thats his volatile nature being recognized and validated in some way! and thats not something he could get from Outside Society like the gang truly sticks together cause no one else would put up w their awful shit but like.. theres still comfort in someone who knows and sees you as you really are even though theyre making ur life a living hell. a little bit. maybe. idk!

a while back i was thinking bout how he grew up being macs only friend and vice versa and i was getting emotional about it but i forgot why specifically i think its really about how theyve always had each other in their lives and they have so much shared history they intuitively understand each other a lot and they also know theyre friends 4ever basically. theyre bffs.... and charlie genuinely enjoys macs project badass stuff like theyre not... theyre not GREAT friends cause the whole gang is awful but compared to whatever the hell the reynolds have going on charlie/mac friendship is sort of sweet you know.... but its still very important that charlie acts mean and fucked up to mac and dennis sometime because its not like any of them is getting proper therapy so bullying others to cope works just as well actually 🤗

... what are people that are attracted to women and nonbinary people (or some other combination not inclusive of all genders)? those are different genders so a one-gender sexual label would be inaccurate but since they aren't attracted to *all* genders they wouldnt meet your criteria for bisexuality

nb isnt some third gender u need a special sexuality to b attracted to lmao straight ppl can date nb ppl lesbians & gay men can date nb people literally anyone can date an nb person (but not every lesbian/gay man/straight can date every nb person—like certain nb ppl may be comfortable dating lesbians and others (esp those more masc-aligned) might not)

i like my new job a lot but its irritating (almost scary) how a majority of my coworkers are drinking, drunk, hungover, or some combination of the three while on the job. i get we have a bar & knowing cocktails/liquor is a big part of our job description but like. we are so short staffed as it is so when 3 of my coworkers get blackout wasted & then are too sick/drunk to work the next day we all suffer.

esp as someone who recently gave up drinking completely, it is really fucking annoying that i have to pick up the slack of ppl twice my age bc theyre drunk at work. sometimes i feel like im working with a bunch of 15 y/os who raided mommys liquor cabinet. fucking get it together man im at work and i don’t want to deal w a drunken temper tantrum.

ik its very counter cultural to not drink alcohol here (both in NOLA and the US in general) but im honestly so fucking done w all these companies selling us poison and telling us its a luxury. ESP for the gays. alcoholism has been marketed toward the queer community so intensely for so long that we have co-opted it as our own culture. all the queer hangouts revolve around alcohol and i know soo many queers who are only intimate with others when theyre drunk.

that to me is a generally under recognized form of violence. these companies don’t need to attack the queer community bc they’ve convinced us we WANT to do it to ourselves. your fave vodka brand does not care if you’re gay they just want you to keep buying their product. these companies KNOW who is more vulnerable to addiction and use it as leverage to give the illusion of inclusivity and community when they really just don’t care if we live or die.

so seeing my queer coworkers drink themselves under the table at our place of employment really fucking blows. im not trying to hate on ppl who drink but im not going to act like this isnt a problem. addiction is too real to be playing along like no one is gonna get hurt. all these baby gays who are drinking every night for the sake of “gay fun” are going to be dying of liver failure in 20 years and who will take responsibility then!! id rather be a bit of a hater at the club than see another entire generation of gays die of addiction.

drinking away your homophobic experiences will not make you a better gay or person. its just going to make it harder to be healthy later. if you can find it in yourself to stop drinking, or even drinking less, i really recommend you do i want you around for a long time

Honestly, your post about GG is 👌. GG, esp Danny, are some of the most understanding and respectful youtubers I watch that aren't LGBT themselves. Like Danny himself is always like "I'm old so correct me if I'm wrong..." and if he is he apologizes!! Same w Arin and the rest of the gang. Like they really do try to improve and be more understanding as the world develops. I love watching them to see how they learn more about the world and become more inclusive and educated. the grumps team are open minded and kindhearted people. they want to bring us entertainment. they don’t care about the views or whatever youtube income they get (which isnt a lot considering the current state of youtube) because theyre just doing what they love with the people they care about.

arin created gamegrumps when he noticed the youtube algorithm shifting from animation to video games. now he plays games daily while protesting that artists should get a fair chance to show their animations and artwork on youtube without being dumped down to the bottom of the recommendations. ross shares that sentiment as well, as he is an animator that developed alongside arin. he’s actually way more vocal about it as well.

these are incredible people who just want to make you smile when you’re feeling down. demonizing them for past content when they’ve learned and grown just like we have is incredibly small minded and people who chastise them are clearly insecure about people finding out about their own pasts and the horrible things they’ve said or done.

yeah, i’ll admit it, when i was 10 to 14 i made rape jokes, gay jokes, trans jokes, racist jokes; but i’m grown now. i’m 21 now, and i am much more aware of the people around me, the struggles they go through. i’ve come to terms with my own sexuality and gender identity and i’m willing to see new things of the sort. i have had friends of all races and i realized that i shouldn’t make those kinds of jokes. i wouldnt like it if people commented on my straight hair or my pasty white skin and didnt stop if i asked.

we all do stupid stuff. to act as though we’re holier than thou is disgusting and you just want to believe you never did anything offensive in your life. but you’re not a saint. you’re human and you make mistakes. you can be ashamed of your past, but you can’t tear someone a new one who you went back to content they put up in 2012 and found they made an offensive comment and then come here in 2017 when they’re a completely different person and try to demonize them and defame them.

ok ! well @turnandchasethewind (olivia) & i have been working on the sketches for this show for like. a Long time lmao it has as most projects do grown & changed & become something entirely its own & i think it’s really awesome & lovely & am rly rly jazzed for it to move forward one day

anyway the working title for it is called views, & it basically follows sloane & nora, best friends who live & work in toronto. they met when they were 18/19 at a catering gig (terrible) & theyre the kind of love that is this epic soft quiet fun powerful love between female friends. they’re young & they’re a little lost always, & the world hurts, but like. they’re Good. the current storyline begins when they’re in their early/mid-twenties & nora meets ridley, who becomes her girlfriend. ridley is rly rly lovely & beautiful & whip smart & v kind & sloane hates her which is altogether mostly funny but a little sad
