You stretched your arms, pajama shirt riding up slightly as you yawned, dramatically walking into the bathroom. Sungchan was already standing there with a toothbrush in his mouth. Once he saw you, he smiled at you, wrapping his arm around you. Both of you had busy schedules and your alone time was a gift from god. Your night routine consisted of this, Sungchan sitting on the bathroom counter and yapping away to his heart's content as you did your skincare. At times, he would be curious and ask if he could try a particular serum or face mask, or when he was feeling bored he would ask if he could do all the steps for you. After you were done, both of you each other's arms, reveling in each other's warmth. It was a comfortable routine to fall into and you both made sure to clear out your schedule for this.

“And then he fell headfirst,” your boyfriend explained. You gave him a concerned look through the mirror as he fiddled with one of your headbands. 

“I’m sorry what??” he looked up at your slightly concerned face “is Anton okay??” 

“Babe Anton is a growing boy, it’s just gonna make his bones stronger.” you nodded unconvinced, while patting your face dry.

“OH i almost forgot i bought these face masks for the both of us.” you reached down into the drawer to pull out the 2 face masks.

“Kuromi for you and Melody for me.” Sungchan noticed you were struggling with the packet, and leaned forward and grabbed it from you, jumping off the counter and walking towards you slowly. Once he was cornering you, he ripped the packet open with his teeth, making straight eye contact with you, before grinning widely.

“I was thinking we could put them on for each other!” he beamed at you. You shook your head, so done with him using his pretty privilege over people (you).

Sungchan had struggled with your mask (he put it on upside down… twice, and was sticking his tongue out adorably when you opened your eyes for a second). When it came to his turn, to your surprise, he held you by the waist and hoisted you up onto the counter.

“Because you’re short.” he patted your head. You narrowed your eyes at him and snatched the mask out of his hand. Sungchan leaned forward, and you cupped his cheeks.“Close your eyes, Channie,” you patted his face gently.

“But I won't be able to look at you, pretty.” he said, frowning and leaning forward to peck your lips. You felt your cheeks heat up and Sungchan closed his eyes with a dopey smile on his face. 

“Oh I bought a bunch of these as well.” You said, scooping up the assortment of lip balms on the table. Sungchan looked up from his phone, his eyes crinkling endearingly, when he saw u applying the pink one. “Do you want to try?” he nodded, and you looked down to choose one when he grabbed your jaw and placed his lips on yours. 

“Hm, I think you should try all of them on,” his grin was evident on his face. “And then I'll choose.” You smacked his arm and he chuckled, wrapping his arm around you, his lips joining yours once again.

Sungchan’s head was leaning against your shoulder, placing kisses there every few minutes as you typed away at your laptop. You could tell he was beyond tired but only staying by your side to keep you company, his breathing slowing and turning into snores. You gently shook him awake.

“You're gonna end up with cramps all over tomorrow Channie,” he got the hint and lay down fully but as soon as you opened up your laptop he started whining. “I guess I'll just finish it tomorrow… it's not fair you always get your way.” You said putting your laptop on your bedside table and going under the covers with Sungchan.

“It's because you love me.” he muttered lazily, throwing his arm over you. You smiled to yourself running your fingers through his hair. “I love you too, maybe a little too much,”

It was a peaceful afternoon, snuggled up next to Anton. His arm was wrapped around you, draped at your waist, completely relaxed. He scrolled through his phone, attention drifting off of you, though he was aware of your presence. You were drawing little shapes on the skin of his arm— the entire expanse of it available to you since he was wearing a t-shirt. Anton scrolled to the next tiktok on his phone, smiling at one of briize’s funny videos. He liked it and scrolled to the next one. 

Everything was quiet and calm. 

It was peaceful and relaxing. Just you and Anton.

Until Anton felt a gentle bite to his arm. 

His eyes widened slightly and he turned to you, raising an eyebrow, “Did you just… bite me?” He whispered. It was clear that you did since your mouth was still suspiciously close to his arm, but he still asked.

You blinked at him, “Impulse.”

“Why do you have an impulse to bite me?” He asked, scrunching up his nose.

“Cause you’re so munchkin and pretty. I wanna eat you.” You mumbled, sinking back into his side, moving your head to rest on his chest instead of close to his arm.

“Cannibal.” He whispered under his breath, going back to his phone as if nothing had happened.

A couple minutes passed, enough for 15 more tiktoks and 4 kisses placed to Anton’s cheek. Just as he was about to show you a funny video that had come across his feed, he felt it again.

*bite*

“Y/n!” He whined, pulling his arm away from you finally and sitting up. It wasn’t like the bite had hurt or anything— you were very gentle, but your boyfriend wanted to cuddle with you, not have his arm bitten.

“What?” You asked, feigning ignorance as long as you could. Anton frowned.

“Am I yummy?” 

“...Yes.” You whispered, biting the inside of your cheek to stop yourself from smiling. Even his reaction was adorable. He sighed and laid back down on the pillow, wrapping his arms around you again.

“You said you were tired. Just sleep. No more biting.” He mumbled, closing his eyes and pulling you to lie on top of him. 

“Fine.” You said, frowning in fake hurt at your boyfriend. But he looked so peaceful laying there with his eyes closed that you couldn’t feel petty for too long, and eventually relaxed down to nap with him instead.

eunseok giggled at the texts before he shut his phone and slipped it into his pocket, ignoring the way it kept vibrating and turning his attention to the girl who was busy gawking at the cafe's decor.

“looks like you like it here.” he broke her out of her dazed state; to which she smiled sheepishly to. “yeah.. you brought me to a miffy themed cafe, eunseok.. of course i like it.”

of course he had to bring her to anything miffy related. he liked the way she squealed whenever she saw the character. even her outfit had miffy-related things to it, including her famous hair accessory.

“then, i’m glad,” he smiled and leaned back in his chair, tilting his head. “there’s a store i wanna take you to as well. it’s not far from here.” yn nodded and soon after, the waiter came with their orders.

after having brunch together, eunseok took her to a miffy store, again, he had to.

it got hard for him to hide the way her reactions towards things made him smile, so he gave up on doing that as a whole. and a smile was kept on his lips, with occasional laughter here and there.

“oh, seok, look! they have rings,” yn gasped, picking up two rings that she thought matched their styles and turned around to show them to him.

eunseok walked to where she was standing, examining the rings. “do you want them?”

“yeah, i think i’m gonna get both,” she giggled before she moved to the plushie section.

“i’m pretty sure you don’t have any plushies at your place.” yn said, looking around at the different miffy plushies. “does a keychain count?”

yn gave him a judging look and she shook her head:“no, it doesn’t count!”

yn spent the next 20 minutes helping the boy look for the perfect plushie for him, after lots of struggling, the one that eunseok liked was a gray miffy plushie. so they got that along with the rings.

by the end of the afternoon, the two were already walking home because eunseok had evening classes.

yn cursed the moment she planned her outfit because now she was getting cold due to the cool spring breeze.

but of course eunseok noticed the way she shivered, and of course he took his jacket off and draped it over her shoulders.

“you don’t have to.” yn frowned at him, attempting to remove it and give it back, but eunseok shook his head; dismissing her. “i want to.”

“eunseok, is this…” yn spoke after a moment of comfortable silence; earning a hum from the boy. “is this a date?”

eunseok stopped in his tracks, looking at her now with an unreadable expression. “do you want it to be a date?”

yn shrugged, chewing down on her lower lip to silence herself. “yn, do you want it to be a date?” he said, his thumb and index fingers gently holding her chin, tilting her head up.

“…yeah”

“alright,”

“alright?”

eunseok smiled and took his hand off her chin, only to slip it into hers and pulling her to continue walking. “yeah, alright, it’s now considered a date, our first date.”

hii there, and yes, this is one of those 'my 2023' year reviews, but make it a letter of thanks to everyone (literally everyone) who i'm thankful for this year—and get ready, because it's a long list.

a letter to 2023 . . .

hello everyone! we have reached the end of the year, and therefore here is a letter to 2023, and to literally all of you as well. this is gonna be a bit long so bare with me oops.

this year tested me. i completed high school, started university, realised that this is it, i'm a grown-up now. i cried, had sleepless nights, and had moments that felt too heavy to bare; but most importantly, i smiled, laughed, and probably felt the most joy i've had in the longest time.

i joined this place three years ago, but didn't start posting until the summer of this year. i didn't have high expectations, especially since i knew this place was vastly larger than any other platform i dedicate myself to, yet here i am! in the midst of publishing silly little writings and dumping my innermost thoughts, i found my happy place.

i did not expect to grow this much: making over 1.6k followers, posted 67 unique works, meet lots of new people whom i can call my friends, and of course, grow into the person i am now, and i couldn't be more thankful to all those who have shown their support for me 💞

Mingyu, despite how serious and hot he could look on-stage, was a completely different person with you. If a golden retriever could have ever turned into a human, Kim Mingyu was certainly the perfect representation of one. He was always smiling and giggling, and he never seemed to be truly aware of how big and strong he was— surprising not just you, but him as well.

But even though the size difference between you two was blaringly evident; your boyfriend still loved lying on top of you. Lying with his head on your chest so he could hear your heart beating steadily was his favourite. It was soothing to him. He was a positive person overall, but he had his own struggles and hardships, as everyone did. Listening to your heartbeat and feeling your soft breath as he fell asleep was one of the best ways he could reset.

But tonight, it seemed as if it wasn’t enough.

“Something bothering you? You keep shifting.” You asked in a mumble, glancing down at the man who kept twisting and turning, sometimes lying with his head on you, sometimes opting for a pillow instead. It was rather unlike him— usually he was able to fall asleep almost immediately.

“It’s just not comfortable.” He pouted in response and rolled over to face you again.

“Come here. I have an idea.” You whispered, opening your arms for your boyfriend to come cuddle closer. He settled his head back on your chest, right over your heart, and stared up at you.

“Close your eyes, Gyu. You won’t be able to fall asleep while staring at me.” You smiled, endeared at the fact that he seemed to always want to admire you; but also ever aware of the early shooting schedule for the next morning. He should have been asleep an hour ago if he was aiming for 6 full hours. He followed your instructions, letting out a huff and wrapping his left arm around your waist. You lifted your left hand so it rested gently on top of his head and slowly started to play with his dark locks.

“What are you- oh. It feels nice.” His voice softened, and you could feel him relax a bit more in your arms. 

You should’ve realized sooner that your boyfriend would like pets, just like dogs do. You continued raking your fingers through his hair, making sure to be as gentle as possible and not pull on any tangled strands. You were about to ask if he was feeling sleepier when you heard his soft snores and had to hold back a laugh. 

Your boyfriend was definitely a golden retriever.
