She is a staunch supporter of an absolute monarchy, but there is no part of her that wants any power for herself. All she really wants is to maintain her current status- and she’ll do whatever it takes to make sure that happens. When you get to know her, she’s very down-to-earth, generous, adventurous, but she is not above manipulating those around her to ensure they keep the correct image of her in their head.  backstory: Andromeda woke up without any memory, and without any identity. She opened her eyes one morning, her head throbbing with pain, with no recollection of who she was or how she got where she was. The only thing in her room was a bundle of clothes, a small pouch with a large sum of money, and a little figurine of a crow. Upon exiting her room, she found herself in a small inn, and was promptly told by the grumpy innkeeper that she had overstayed her welcome by a few hours.  It became increasingly obvious that she would get no information from the inn, so she kept her head down and picked a direction. She had no idea who she was, where she came from, or where she had been traveling, but she was getting nowhere by staying still, so she walked for days, passing through towns and villages, waiting for any memory to come back to her. Eventually, after no new developments, she picked a village, found a job as a bookkeeper, and picked a new name- Seble.  Her memories never did come back, but it stopped bothering her. After all, how can you miss the life you have no connection to? She grew to love her quiet life, even if it was often uncomfortable at times, and after a few years, she married. It was only a few days after the wedding that she woke up to find the bed empty, and the small fortune she had woken up with years before was missing, leaving Seble penniless, abandoned, and miserable. The pay from her job kept her alive, but not enough to keep her out of poverty.  Everything changed when an Ethiopian soldier stopped her on the street, clearly in a state of disbelief. Seble brushed him off when he told her she was the spitting image of the lost princess, but was unable to brush off the Ethiopian officials that arrived at her door after the soldier reported her to his authorities. Once again, she was reduced to a scared girl with no identity, a bundle of clothes and a little crow figurine. The officials declared that Princess Andromeda had been found, and she was dragged away to the Ethiopian palace. Seble was gone- she was now Andromeda.

now:  Despite Andromeda’s initial reservations, it became clear that this was a massive blessing. The Soloman family welcomed her home with open arms, and she was showered with jewels and silks and all the riches she could ask for. Finally, she had a stable, comfortable home, and most importantly, a family. Still, she can’t shake the idea that she isn’t the princess. For the timeline to match, she would have been on the run for at least two years before she lost her memory. Everyone tells her she looks exactly like she did before she went missing, but the young girl in the paintings is a stranger to her.  Even if she isn’t the princess, Andromeda has no intention of losing her new life. She could never go back to the cold, lonely life she had before. It was easy to live without a family and stability when she had no memory of it, but now that she does, she will do anything in her power to keep it.

Milenko Sisay Radoševič-Tesfaye

At long last, an introduction for Vesuvia’s future Poet Laureate, Amparo’s best friend and Anatole’s second cousin: Milenko.

Name: Milenko Sisay Radoševič-Tesfaye, though he goes as ‘Milenko Radošević’.

Milenko means gracious, dear, while Sisay means good omen in Amharic. Some of his nicknames are:

Milan and Lenko are the ones most used by his family; one of his mothers, Aurora, his uncle Atanasie and his grandfather Blasio are the only ones who ever call him Sasi.

Family: He’s a Radošević, and has the same great grandparents as Anatole (Dragoslav and Elysian). He’s the grandson of Anatole’s great uncle Blasio and his spouse Ilnya Radošević (non-binary, they/them, only non-gendered terms).

He’s the nephew of Atanasie Radošević, archaeologist, curator and collector, and the son of Violeta Radošević and Aurora Tesfaye.

Violeta, Blasio and Atanasie are Bosnian-Muslim, while Aurora, on the other hand, is a Sephardic Jewish, mixed black woman. Many of the inspirations for the character come from Andalusian Romani, Sephardim customs (obviously), and Ethiopian culture. In Arcana world terms, however, she was born and raised in Vesuvia, to one of the cities many immigrant families.

Milenko was raised in an interfaith household, raised jointly in both of their mothers religious practices. He was not forced to choose, and he has in his own chosen both: you cannot understand Milenko if you subtract any of these, and he doesn’t see what’s so incompatible about both asking questions and "If the Final Hour comes while you have a palm-cutting in your hands and it is possible to plant it before the Hour comes, you should plant it."

Languages spoken: Common, Vesuvian, Balkovian, Prakran, Alzor/Nopali, Zadithi and conversational Venterrean and Karnassi.

Magical Abilities: His magic is detailed here, but, in short, Milenko is able to have visualisations of diverse value through water. He isn’t sure of the clairvoyant/prophetic element of what he is able to see, and often times if they do have such meaning, he only realises way later. He inherited this from Ilnya Radošević, who was clairvoyant to a degree of terrifying precision, but also comically unaware of it. 

He doesn’t control what the water shows him. He is either transfixed by water or completely submerges in it when it happens, the rest of the world washing away. He’s always okay after it, as if he hadn’t need to breathe at all

Because he controls it less, in comparison to, say, Anatole and Amparo and their hyper-specific magical gifts, he’s the one who’s the best at different types of magic which aren’t his specialisation, being a jack of all trades and the most multifaceted magician of his generation of magic users in the Radošević-Cassano & Adjacent.

Occupation: He’s a poet and a journalist. In time, he becomes Vesuvia’s Poet Laureate.

His poetical themes are Pastoral Horror or ‘Bucolic Nightmares’, and Urban Eclogues. Could also be described as Chimeric Romanticism because he focuses a lot on the sublime, but he sticks genres together, creating a genre chimera. The story of the Julesverse Arcana is supposed to become an epic poem of his penmanship intra universe.

Speaking of horror, this post is his vibe.

Personality/Trivia:

Doesn’t think being gay is a competition, but his mothers surely won the being gay game.

His familiar is an African Wild Dog named Ursula. Because of his magic, she acts as a service dog too, preventing Milenko for throwing himself in the water in dangerous situations.

He’s a swimmer. Because of this and his magic, Amparo and Anatole nicknamed him Merlenko.

Has a very, and I do mean very, vivid imagination. He can get sucked into what he’s describing very easily.

He doesn’t mean to be cryptic or ominous, he just speaks and comes out that way.

He plays the mandolin (this would be his mandolin), and can hold some of his own with a viola and a double bass. His grandfather Blasio is a composer, and he taught him to play the last two.

Half his vibe is this picture of a guy in a floatie in the Zadar Floods. He would go through the Vesuvian Canals in his own floatie.

Kind of weird, kind of owns it. According to his mothers he has the energy of a weird 10-yeard-old girl. The summoning things in the woods, and dressing up as bugs type. When Belle and Sebastian wrote “colour my life with the chaos of trouble” in the Boy With The Arab Strap they were talking specifically about Milenko.

His thought process isn’t the most linear thing in the planet, may be prone to inductive jumps, or act on instinct “just because”.

A lot of unlikely things tend to happen to him — the kind that make really particular and peculiar stories that if told by anyone else would sound fake, but if you know Milenko, you are bound to know the stories are legit.

Part of his antics include being chased out of Macawi, being banned from two Vesuvian bars, having one sworn enemy from nobility and a very questionable season between Venterre and Nopal.

In his opinion, the Balkovian sea is the best sea. Sorry to every other Sea ever.

His favourite poets would be Mary Oliver, Alejandra Pizarnik, Ilya Kamisnky and Anne Carson. He also likes Arab poets in general.

But his favourite poem would be Alastor, or the Spirit of Solitude, by Percy Shelley.

He also has tattoos. He only has five, however.

He was convinced the Arcana weren’t real as entities until the events of the game. 

Chugs respect women juice. He’s also the kind of person you can tell was raised by lesbians.

Despite being a Nadia main, he (generally) truly does not vibe with Nobility. Their social conventions are too stiff and to him, they don’t make sense. No offence to them (maybe a little), but usually while he will humour them with their titles and actually use them, and not be rude when meeting them, he does love fucking a little with people sometimes, and it’s really easy to fuck with nobles.

Ironically enough, one of his favourite places to write is the palace’s fountain in the gardens.

Absolutely hates Vulgora.

Valerius calls him pest, mostly because he likes to improvise poems about him and yell them at him while he goes by.

He doesn’t live in Palazzo Cassano, but he is considering moving in because that’s where he spends most of his time and his nights anyway, but his actual place is in Goldgrave. He lives with a friend of his and Amparo, called Octavia Rey Dos Santos. She is a playwright by night and works as a barista by day in her parents coffee shop (the trio’s favourite) ‘The Sphinx’.

He mostly wears black.

Takes it the worst when either Amparo or Anatole die when it’s their turn to be the apprentice.

He’s a surprisingly decent dancer, self-proclaimed ‘adequate’ singer, decent sketcher, and one of his favourite pastimes are crossword puzzles.
