giving myself the permission to drop a lengthy reply on a y:da is bad post on reddit, turn off notifications and never look at it again.

i still don't get why people are still to this day big mad over y:da for daring to not care about lore that much but then those people have nothing to say about myths of the realm shitting all over the most fundamental lore of the entire game to tell a shitty sob story about *checks notes* nothing. it's about nothing. nobody involved in writing this story line had a singular thought about what capital-g God means to humanity

i couldn't understand why the fight with eulogia (the last boss of the EW alliance raid series) was making me tear up or flat out cry and then i realized that perhaps a story in which the culminating decision and confrontation is an act of euthanasia, something you are begged to do as gently as possible, as every single facet tells you how strong you are, how you've overcome so much, how it's out of love for you that they can even ask this at all is probably a really painful thing to put yourself through after you've had to put your sixteen year old cat to sleep.

having marinaded in my feelings for a day I will now say I think euphrosyne is the best alliance raid this series. I like the music the most and I find all the fights consistently fun. aglaia is really good but with current gear it goes too fast, meanwhile when is was fresh I kind of thought some fights (azeyma) were too long. thaleia is a weird one, where I LOVE llymlaen and oschon is extremely good (though a bit repetitive imo, at least in the first phase), thaliak is... weird? I genuinely think it's because I don't like his design bc in isolation I think his mechanics are pretty cool. the one with the rotating grid makes me remember zodiark because I have to think about it in exactly the same way as snakes so maybe that's the problem. eulogia is.... iffy. they're cool conceptually but most of the fight is rehashing the exact mechanics of previous bosses without anything new added. it's JUST azeyma's solar fans, or althyk and nymeia's hydrostasis, or rhalgr's fist of the destroyer. also the music in thaleia just doesn't hit nearly as hard as rhythm of the realm or dedicated to moonlight or in the balance. eulogia's theme is certainly really good, but I prefer the more focused themes of the previous fights. all that said though I LOVED the climb to the top after fighting oshon, I was practically giddy with excitement

Thinking about Astor and Eulogia makes me want to crawl around the walls and roof like a bat. I'm very normal about them...

I never posted the idea for an epic crossover I had: since Alice is immortal, she lives until the future in Eulogia's story, and they meet.

Her role as a psychopomp changes a bit, and now also hunts the vampires who are victims of Virtue's hibe mind, and frees them from their curse, letting them finally rest.

Alice in the vampire story AU, basically.
