Bug of the Day
I was coming back in after a disappointing night at the lights last week, and came across this glorious chonkbeast on some Virginia creeper growing under my porch. This is a Pandora sphinx moth caterpillar (Eumorpha pandorus). Look at its squishy little donut feeties!!

Almost two months later (a tad disappointed in myself for not noticing sooner) I have realized that the ask says "Mo/Moth/Mothself" rather than the "Moth/Moths/Mothself" I put by accident....soo I fixed it and changed a few things I didn't like ^-^

They are based on the Banded Sphinx moth (Eumorpha fasciatus), White Witch moth (Thysania agrippina), and The Luna moth (Actias luna) respectively. [from left to right]
[Ps, the White Witch moth flag is more orange than tan like the actual moth because I didn't want a flag that was just shades of beige with a little brown mixed in.]
culd I get mo/moth/mothself neoprns flag...tyy...
moth anon
Of course! Here ya go! ^^

Gnamptopelta obsidianator is a large ichneumon wasp whose coloration mimics a spider wasp (Entypus).
It’s a specialized parasitoid of sphinx moth caterpillars, especially those in the subfamily Macroglossinae (such as Eumorpha species). Many of these caterpillars feed on grapevine and related plants, so G. obsidianator seeks out those plants to find hosts.

Bug of the Day
If you throw up a light and a sheet in a field, you're gonna get Orthopterans. This was one of the more interesting ones that I saw last weekend. Somehow, still just yet another Melanoplus sp.
(Thx to @eumorpha-dream for throwing up the light and the sheet)
