Suddenly remembered how back when I was, like, 10 and staying at my grandma’s country cottage for the vacation, I found an article about siskins in one of her crossword magazines and wrote in “SEA EAGLE” with a pen in every place where the word “siskin” was used, therefore creating an article about the adorable tiny songbird that a SEA EAGLE is, which I found so hilarious that it made me laugh hysterically for several minutes each time I re-read it.
The main reason for that was boredom, as there wasn’t much to do in the evenings with no computer or tv, and that magazine just stayed there, so each consequent year when I visited the cottage I would re-discover the SEA EAGLE article and have the funniest time of my life without fail.

This doesn’t fit with any of my pre-existing wing au content at all but giving people wings lives rent free in my head so. Valentino Rossi with Eurasian Siskin wings…cause they match his helmet…🥺
they probably have to wear padded wing covers while one the bikes for safety but you KNOW vale is getting his out for the media all the time it’s exactly the sort of thing he’d do.

Sometimes the common names and scientific names of birds are really frustrating but my recent fave is:
Eurasian Siskin - Spinus spinus
and
Pine Siskin - Spinus pinus
