Hergé (Georges Prosper Remi) - The original illustration for the Tintin album Le Lotus Bleu (The Blue Lotus) was rejected by the publisher in 1934 and, neatly folded into six, kept in a drawer for decades. In 2021 it was auctioned for €3.2m (£2.8m), setting a new world record for the most expensive comic book artwork ever.

Once again, I wish everyone a blessed and happy New Year 2024! And to post these great pictures from the official Dutch Donald Duck comics called "Donald Duck Weekblad" (unfortunately I forgot the authors name who drew these great pictures with the duck family), where Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Grandma Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Gyro Gearloose and Gus Goose celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays together. Yes, the second picture shows the duck family wearing Christmas sweaters. Let's not forget the Dutch authors who make excellent comics about Donald Duck, in addition to Italian, Spanish, Brazilian and Scandinavian authors.
