✨ Romancing Eva Headcanons ✨

🥐 Humble to a fault, Eva is constantly amazed that someone like you likes someone like her. The person that saved the island and became a self made farmer all on their own, liking a plain old baker like herself? It takes some time for her to accept that you like her, making a relationship slow rolling.

🥐 I can see Eva being a bit of a soft romance enthusiast, reading novels during proofing periods or when things are in the oven. That said, she wants to try all the typical romantic dates. Picnics, walks on the beach, dinner and a movie. She’s never been in a serious relationship and she treats these things like a bucket list, and you’ll have a long life together to try them all.

🥐 She’s pretty protective: she cares about your health, she looks over your farm and points out anything that’s broken and poses a threat, if she notices you eating too much processed or unhealthy food she’ll make it a point to cook something for you. Eva relishes the idea of growing old with you--she doesn’t want to lose that for anything.

🥐 Love Language: Acts of Service/Gift Giving. Naturally she’s going to cook for you, naturally she’ll be putting baked goods in your hands every single day. But when you do her dishes for her? Prep the kitchen for her to get started quickly? Buy her a new kitchen gadget or cookbook? Maybe she feels simple, but she’s a simple kind of girl. 

🥐 Eva adores you, and you’ll feel it every single day. Your smile becomes her favorite thing, her reason to wake up in the morning. She lives a pretty simple life, but you bring color to her world every day and she can’t thank you enough for it.

Headcanon: Zarah Shipping

I have seen people that love or headcanon ship for Zarah which so far I remember there: Zarah x Denali, Zarah x Scott, Zarah X Yuri, Zarah X Mark, Zarah x Senja, Zarah X Rafael. However i never seen someone ship Zarah x Eva which i notice sometimes based on their dialogue. So i will share the evident i found:

Bread

Someone give Zarah bread secretly.

This happened more than once.

If you go to Coral Island Wiki you will found only two characters that give bread to player: Eva and Sam. Which make sense as Sam sell bread and Eva the one that own the recipe and work for Sam as baker.

Of course is possible Sam the one give Zarah bread, but based on this dialogue. Sam openly offer food to Zarah in the past so there no reason for Sam to give Zarah bread secretly. So Eva the one that give Zarah bread.

2. Cookies

Zarah activity always the same all year except winter where every saturday she visit Sam store.

Her unique activity in winter does get noticed by Eva.

Because she dont really know Zarah she assume Zarah loves cookies because Zarah buy the cookies in bulk. Which she not, she just like it.

That the reason why she bring cookies to hot pot festival because she buy cookies in bulk during winter so she still has some cookies to donate.

Those cookies topic remind me of this dialogue by Eva which I cant help found it to be more fit if she talking with Zarah than player.

3. Decorative Pillows

If player talk to Eva she will told you how she love DIY to safe cost including:

A. crocheted her own scarf;

B. draw batik pattern on her shirts, and

C. sewing decorative pillows.

While she sew it for herself. I can’t help (again) connect it to Zarah because Zarah seems to love decorative pillows and probably NPC bedroom with the most decorative pillows. So, i found it cute they have same interest! Despite how they look and act opposite of each other.

There also another screenshots that make me support this pairing more and more however those screenshot mostly about how they have opposite personality, but compliment each other. So i plan to post those screenshot on another post later.

obviously she enjoys baking but she actually doesn’t really want to cook outside of work. she doesnt mind it ofc but if the farmer made her dinner? god she’d swoon instantly.

though, she’d love to bake with the farmer. especially if they dont really know how, fun bonding experience

she knits! during the winter she knits the dogs and cats around town sweaters :)

maybe if the farmer asked shed be willing to make them one too…

Eva(Coral Island) x Original Female Character

🖋️With the difficulties of being a farmer, Lila never lets her work be imperfect or have flaws but in addition, she is a taste tester to help the cook of the island, while giving her feedback in recipes, she realizes that her love goes beyond her role as taste tester, an intense love for the person who makes the recipes, Eva.

A life she never really imagined, this year everything changed, she became a farmer in a place where she practically knows no one, Lila never imagined she would be able to make this decision, start a life from scratch, meet new people and create bonds with the villagers. How ironic this is, it's almost the end of the year, Autumn where everything seems magical, the weather starting to cool makes love blossom more, seeing Noah and Alice together in the city square, reading and talking about various subjects and Lila ponders how long it will take for the two lovebirds to realize that they love each other, the whole city knows but them. She shakes her head at the thought and goes on her way with that. Today it's a nice and quiet tuesday soon deciding to go to Sam's store to buy some seeds and also sell some veggies and opening the store door feeling the familiar smell of bread being made, of course she couldn't help but notice the person who makes the bread, since the first day it never fails to takes her breath away when she sees the baker, Eva.

Lila truly wasn't the most close of her and for oblivious reasons that she couldn't keep her head in the right place when Eva is around, Macy figured out soon enough her not that hidden crush on the baker and haven't stopped messing with her whenever the two were in the same place, it got worse when Sam and Emily noticed the strange behavior of the farmer around the baker, Sam always tried to make hints of romance and hints of how he won over Emily in his time, Lila could have sworn her face looked like a pepper.

So definitely a big NO to stay more than 10 minutes there.Getting lost in her thoughts when she reminded herself that she still was staring at Eva, almost tripping in her way to Sam and notice the man laughing slightly at the embarrassing behavior before speaking:

—You know, nobody ever had tripped in that place before.. Making me wonder if are you really that clumsy or there's something else distracting you in the point of not being able to walk straight.. — Lila couldn't believe at what point her life had come to be in such humiliating position.

—I'm quite clumsy.. — Shyly the farmer said while trying to hide her red face and trembling hands as possible with the poor excuse.

—Oh, all theses vegetable are the greatest quality, you really work well in your farm, young girl!

Farmer was the happies that he changed the subject and let her go with her poor excuse and thanked the man, feeling proud of herself in the quality of her products, after all, she have been working nonstop for the last two seasons and hopefully in the winter she can rest more. What Lila didn't expect was Eva to call her when she was walking to the door, trying her best to keep a neutral behavior while going slowly to the woman.

—Hey! Um.. I made a new recipe of this bread, It's supposed to be softer.. would you mind being my taste tester?

Eva asks the other woman with a tone of hope, without being close to her so it means that it would be a great way to connect with the person everyone in the city speaks highly of.

—Oh.. Of course! it would be a pleasure, Eva!

Without thinking Lila said to the baker, smiling brightly when Eva smilled at her answer and offered a piece of the bread, gosh she could be whatever Eva wanted her to be, definitely.

The soft texture and explosion of flavors made the farmer gasp, she didn't expect that Eva would be able to surpass her skills even further. Chewing the piece slowly and taking into consideration each characteristic it could offer in its description to the baker.

—Eva, this is really good, the texture is actually much softer! I just think it lacked a little sugar, maybe it could make the bread even tastier.

Lila made her suggestion and didn't stopped praising Eva's work till she notice the baker red face.

—Thank you! I will make that modification and soon you can see if it gets better than before, I know I can improve this recipe for sure.

—Eva, everything you do is the best, I'm impressed that you want to get it better.

And for her dismay, she had to show her gay side, as soon as that comment got out of her mouth she looked at the bread seems like suddenly it got more interesting than see Eva's reaction to her stupid confession.

And that's how her "side job" started.

The seasons goes by, the spring of the second year and Lila can be sure she made the right choice to chase her dreams. Now more stable, Lila making a wonderful job as a farmer and also being a great adventurer and ocean cleaner, true to be told Lila have more than one job, she was everywhere and doing everything to make the city better, that was her job as a citizen. Also over time she gained the trust of many residents, she really felt part of the community, every Friday and Saturday she went to Franky's tavern to talk to everyone and have fun even though she still hasn't managed to win against Yuri in snooker, according to his own thoughts, Yuri makes magic when it comes to playing. 

— This doesn't even make sense, how it's possible to do that??

Lila is outraged at losing yet another round of Yuri, not knowing how she managed to reverse the roles when she swore that tonight would be her victory's moment.

—Natural talent, farmer girl! — Yuri jokingly mess with her before seeing Eva enter the tavern, Macy that was taking photos of some plates for Franky stopped and grin at Lila and noticed the farmer was already smiling at the baker, not remembering her lost rounds and going to meet with the person that stay in her head all the time. 

— Go talk with your baker — Yuri wink at her and tapped her on the shoulder letting her know it was okay to miss this round, not like Lila would win in either way.

— Hey miss baker, may I know what brings you here in this night? — Lila sitted at Eva's side and gave her a side hug, smiling till her cheeks hurt when she's around.

—Hey miss taste tester, I'm just chilling this night and wanted to speak with Betty about new recipes!

That excited Lila, after all that means more taste testing for her and she couldn't help making a silly happy dance to make Eva laugh.

 

— Let's go then, Betty is probably watching TV right now..— Not missing a beat farmer held the baker's hand and the two were almost running into the stairs to see Betty.

 

— Oh my goodness, come in dear, a blessing seeing two lovebirds in front at me! — Betty happily affirmed as if it was a fact, if she noticed the two red face and stuttering when trying to explain that they weren't girlfriends, she definitely pretended not to hear.

— I assume you two are here to test new recipes, am I right? 

— Bingo, Betty! — Lila told her and soon Eva and Betty started talking about the modifications of the recipes and what should be better with that dish or things like that, this was definitely not her part so she stands by not wanting to disturb but also helping in ways that she can.

— Miss taste tester, can you please give me the salt? it's right at your side

It didn't take 10 seconds to Eva see the salt being placed right beside her, smiling slightly and murmuring a quiet thank you to her favorite person.

 

Thankfully it didn't take long to be ready, Lila could almost jump of excitement when Eva offered her a piece and ask for a description of the taste.

— Oh my god, this is definitely new... it's not bad, it's just not what I was expecting but this is awesome, the salt in this dish made a great contrast, I love it as usual, Eva! You rock it — Farmer always try to improve her vocabulary to praise the baker more and more but still, she loves it, as always.

Eva's face clearly got a relieved expression at this, surprising Lila by holding hands and getting closer while thanking her. Seems like she didn't saw how Lila's eyes widen at this act.

—Oh my!! Are you seriously? I'm so relieved hearing this! I have been thinking of this recipe for weeks and I'm so happy it worked out good, this is so special! We should have a round of drinks to celebrate, don't you think?

— I-I, y-yes, I agree.. — Her voice betray her but Eva didn't seem to mind, grabbing her hand and bringing her to the tavern, asking for a bottle of wine and they two decided to drink outside.

 

A half bottle of wine goes and the two were not in right mind anymore, giggling at the air and talking nonsense.

— Can you believe it? I saw Alice and Noah kissing the other day, freaking finally!

— Finally oh my god, they're so sweet that it was getting irritating to see them not realizing their emotions but I guess, they knew it at the right time, right? Everything happens in the right time.. — Farmer also share her opinion on the new couple of the city.

— And you? — Eva asked quietly without looking at Lila.

— What about me? — Confused Lila looked at her trying to understand her question.

— Are you interested in someone? It's been two years that you're here, I'm sure you found someone attractive already — If only Eva know that since day one it was her, exclusively her.

And with the effect of the alcohol in her body, farmer let it escape the true.

— Actually I am interested in someone for months but I'm not sure the person likes me back..

— Oh come on, it's impossible. You're the bestest ever, you have all the best qualities, it's impossible to not like you.. trust me.. — .. Lila stopped her line of thoughts, what did she mean by trust me? She looked in Eva's eyes and got quiet.

— I'm seriously, you're so pretty and so talented and you're so smar-

Acting on impulse, Lila placed herself as close to Eva as possible, their faces were so close that she could feel Eva's breath against her face, noticing that her eyes widen at the proximity, but that wasn't enough, Lila brought her hand to Eva's cheek, gently caressing her delicate and perfect face, smiling when the baker lean in her touch, letting a gasp out when Eva turned her face and kissed her hand. They got into a staring contest till they both have enough, they both lean in and close the distance..

"It's so soft, so good" That's the only coherent thought in the farmer's mind. The hand that was caressing the baker's cheek, was now pulling her closer by the back of her head, trying to be as close as possible, Eva's opened her mouth and let Lila devour her, it didn't matter anything, nothing matter at that moment, finally they had done it. Only stopping when they couldn't handle the the lack of air, even in that short period of time Lila didn't stop, she kissed Eva's neck and looked for that sweet spot that made Eva's breathing become faster.

— O-Oh my god, you're driving me insane, baby...

And hearing that phrase almost made her cry out, Lila got aware of everything, they were in a public place, it was spring but she felt more hotter than any summer. And also, she didn't want to do anything and not remember later, so she grabbed Eva by the waist and started to walk to Coral Inn.

— Huh? What're we doing? I'm not done with you!

Eva almost screamed in her ears, and started to do the same treatment that she received earlier, now it was Lila turn to tremble, praying to every god to give her strength to resist this.

Soon they reached the door and Eva could barely stand straight at this point, apparently the effects of alcohol and tiredness from the day were hitting her so farmer decided to carry her in the bride style, taking care of her in the most affectionate way until she saw that she slept and tried to leave as silently as possible but Suki was already at the reception looking at her mysteriously.

— For a moment I thought a thief had broken in here, but it's just you. You and Eva...

She really didn't feel like answering Suki's countless questions, even though she liked her more than anything, she said goodbye quickly and walked to the farm, falling into bed and sleeping in record time.

Oh fuck.

Farmer woked up feeling extra tired, hungover and worse... remembering what happened the night before and started to overthink, did Eva kissed her because she wanted or because of the alcohol? Did Eva liked her? Did Eva remember that? A thousand questions running through Lila's head and her solution was to hide on her farm, no one would suspect after all it's spring and there's a lot to do, until she has the courage to face Eva again.

And so it was, days passed with this routine, Lila only went out at night or when there were few people around, avoiding as much as possible any interaction that could lead to a meeting with Eva and that lasted for almost a week till Macy had enough and went to the farm.

— Now I want to ask you, have you gone insane? What happened? Why are you ignoring everybody and specially Eva?? Why are you doing this?? — Worried about her best friend Macy started firing too much questions, not noticing that it was overwhelming Lila.

 

— WE FUCKING KISSED. WE WERE DRUNK, I DON'T FUCKING KNOW HOW TO FACE HER NOW, OKAY? — Lila screamed at her best friend for the first time and let out her emotions out, her eyes tearing up when she told Macy about her worries of Eva not liking her.

 

— And that's why you're a idiot, Eva is trying everything to connect with you, she wants to confess and you're hiding away? don't be stupid!!

 

— But what if sh-

— What if nothing!! You're going to talk to her today, she was crying her eyes out to Betty because of your stupid act..

—Why was she crying? What do you mean?

— Ugh, why do lovebirds cause so much stress — Macy sighed and started helping farmer in her activities, and after a good shower and putting her best clothes farmer started running around the city to find Eva.

After asking the entire town if they knew where she was Lila found herself in front of the Coral Inn, the only place she hasn't went yet. Opening the door and seeing Suki again and got surprised when Suki guilded her to Eva's door, not even leaving the chance to give up, only mouthing "You better fix it up" and going to the reception again. She knocked on the door three times until she heard a broken voice, clearly from crying, which broke her heart. 

— Please leave me alone.. — Eva's voice was heard and she felt a lump in the throat at that sight.

—Eva.. can I enter? — After a few seconds Lila said and heard movement in the room, soon after hearing the sound of the door being unlocked and took the signal as a yes.

She entered the room and didn't even care about the mess, she went towards the person lying on the bed and when she got closer she didn't even know exactly how to act, what to say. So she decided to speak the truth and all of it, all that it was on her mind.

— Since the first day I saw you it was like a lightning strike into me, you are everything I want in those two years and I was so scared of ruining our friendship with my love for you, I thought maybe we can become friends and this feeling may go away but it wasn't a simple crush, I love you Eva, every time I'm with you, I feel like the luckiest person alive. Even when the recipes goes wrong or got burned, it was the best moment of my live just because you're in it... I'm sorry for being stupid and not  talking to you after what happened that night.. I was scared of what would you say, please forgive me for acting so reckless. I want to ask you, do you feel the same?

She didn't even realize that she started crying till she felt Eva's hand on her face, trying to dry up all the tears, Eva's eyes were tearing up but she was smiling so openly.

 

— My love.. I fell in love with you over a year ago and the feeling only intensifies, so please.. don't torture us any longer, kiss me please..

 

Happily Lila did it and kissed Eva with so much love, feeling her salt tears into the kisses, and it could've been only seconds but feel like eternity, she felt in peace, where she belongs. And they stopped with little kissed and pecks, smiling at each other before Eva suggested:

 

— Do you want to be the taste tester of my heart?

Headcanon: Eva Age

Not a discourse, but people should stop seeing Eva as this barely legal woman 😅 I have seen many people headcanon her as 18-19 years old which as Indonesian myself i was shock because while true she look younger compare to other woman and i admit she "naive" and still has lot of dream. However i dont think she THAT young.

First I dont think Coral Island game dev will make someone that young with how many older looking dateables. Second this is something that non Indonesian may not aware because is need cultural context. Eva is Javanese woman (The biggest ethnicity in Indonesia) and Javanese usually not expected to study or work far from home unless they forced too (for example economic reason make them desperate to go far for job). Because Javanese people dont like too take risk/ scared of doing something new. Which you can sometimes see on Eva dialogue how she afraid to take risk or how Joko not interested to try new job.

Yeah Eva often talk how she not well off/rich and so need saving money, but she also not save money for helping her family infact is seems like her family is financialy okay without Eva help. That why I cant see her that young. Her family situation give me impression she move to Coral Island mostly on her own reason.

Usually they only brave to move far if they reach career oriented age which in Indonesia usually after 21 years old. Because first year student in university/advance school in indonesia usually around 18 or 17 years old.

I am still not sure if Eva went through university but atleast i do think she go to some skill classes or have some side job related to bakery before go to Coral Island. So that why I headcanon her as atleast 23 years old which yes you can found lot of 22-25 years old woman in Indonesia that look as youthful as Eva.

I need to said this because i had seen some non Indonesian player uncomfortable dating her because they though she around 18-19 years old which okay good reason, but I dont think she that young haha that why i need to clarified 😅

I know it probably doesn't mean anything but I do find it interesting that Eva's name is actually Everest. Especially considering the lore that all the mermaids are named after famous mountains.

I'm certainly not the first person to make this observation either, but still, lmao.

Anyway I doubt there's any correlation, but it is interesting.
