I've found that I struggle with Lionheart

not because I dislike him [I have no strong feelings on him either way]

but literally because in my heart of hearts I only see this big massive dude as everyone's straight uncle who has dated here and there, but doesn't have a mate/kits [I dislike LionFrost as a concept]

and he's kinda done with dating for now

but not in a 'discovered he's aro/ace and unhappy with dating' way

but in a more 'I think I've discovered that, even though I am not aro/ace, I find enough comfort in myself to just be a guardian figure to those around me and I find more satisfaction in that than ever being in a relationship'

do I make any sense here???

Rosetail & Yellowfang - not particularly close, but they bond over their shared relationship with Bluestar.

Yellowfrost - becames mates after Cinderpaw's accident, when Yellowfang started caring for them. Yellowfang considers Frostfur's kits as their adoptive kits.

Lionfrost - didn't actually become mates until later in their lives, even though they had been crushing on each other for ages.

Lionheart & Yellowfang - "Isn't our wife great?"

Blueoak - on-again-off-again kind of couple. Their relationship mostly centres on caring for their kits. Still care for each other deeply though.

Bluestar & Thrushpelt - queerplatonic partners and co-parents of Mosskit, Mistykit, and Stonekit.

Thrushpelt & Oakheart, Oakheart & Rosetail, Lionheart & Bluestar, Lionheart & Thrushpelt, Thrushpelt & Frostfur - acquaintances.

The Three description tweaks that I think suits them better than their canon designs:

Hollyleaf- black she-cat with small ginger flecks scattered throughout her pelt like sparks; amber eyes. She doesn't have quite enough ginger to be considered a true tortoiseshell cat, but she would look a lot like this (with significantly less ginger). Her alternate name would be Hollyflame or Duskfire.

Lionblaze- his canon design would stay mostly the same, but instead of being described as outright golden, I imagine him as being more of a dusky ginger-brown, with more ginger in his pelt than his mother. And he gets the small white paws from her as well. I don't visualize a name change for him, but Lionstep, Lionpelt, Liontail, and Lionfrost (for his white paws) would work nicely.

Jayfeather- dark gray tabby tom with some brown coloration around his face and on various parts of his body; some white coloring on his belly and chest. Personally, I've always imagined Jayfeather as being a darker tabby color than what is described in canon. More of a dark gray-brown tabby, sort of what's shown in the picture below. I like the idea of him taking more after his father rather than Leafpool. His alternate name(s) would be Jayshade, Shadefeather, and Darkfeather

I think with these alternate designs, it would also be more believable that these are indeed the biological kits of Squirrelflight and Bramblestar, making the secret of their birth even more of a shock.

I agree! I really like these alternate ideas and it does make it more believable that they came from Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw as opposed to Crowfeather and Leafpool, while at the same time still having traits of their bio parents

okay, i have another au. this one is a dsmp/warrior cats au. i’ve named it the ‘burnt leaves’ au

the basic premise is that everyone is cats (obviously), it focuses on tommy, tubbo, and fundy, and the trauma the trio faces, and this au should probably give people some very obvious clues that i am 100% not a c!dream apologist.

this au gets pretty dark at some points, and includes themes of animal death (because. you know, wild cats living in the woods, cats fighting each other, cats hunting smaller animals, etc), a lot of violence, traumatic experiences, the exile arc will be discussed, and a whole lot more.

(this is about the dsmp characters)

some things to note:

most characters will be given more warrior-like names. even some of the non-clan cats will be given different names (ex. techno, pre-clan wilbur, and ghostbur will be named Blade, Soot, and Kasper/Kas respectively).

warrior cat terms will be used. if y’all are confused on any terms, just let me know!

the names of the factions/locations are as follows:

Can you tell us about how some of the big, non-POV ships came to be? (LionFrost, GoldenTiger, SwiftRed, MossBeech, BreezeJake, RaggedYellow, ShadowPoly, GreyMud?) Just lil cute ideas behind em :o

LionFrost - Lion started it, one hundred percent. My man thought Frostfur was the most beautiful molly in Thunderclan, and made it his mission to get through to her. Frostfur appreciated the effort, and eventually grew fond of him in return.

GoldenTiger - I like to think, after reading your Goldenflower short, that it really kicked off in earnest after they lost the race for deputyship to Redtail. It snuck up on them, too. They were spending more and more time together and suddenly it just...clicked.

SwiftRed - Swift padded after Redtail for awhile before he actually did anything, but when he did it was in small gestures. Swift was never much of a talker, so it started with little gifts and favours and then it just grew into something more.

MossBeech - As many young whirlwind romances begin, it started with seeing the prettiest person at school and attaching yourself to them at the hip, regardless of personality. Beech isnt exactly peak romance, but he made her laugh and he was very handsome--and, well, for Beech Moss was just one of the few options that didnt spit in his face, though he did find her pretty and charming in turn.

BreezeJake - Jake honestly just kept on hassling him at the border and Breeze warmed up to him over time. Long talks about their separate and very different lives turned into something romantic, and though Breeze hasn't seen his old flame (haha) in a while, I like to think that Jake left him the tag to his collar (pried off after Breeze taught him to use his paws better).

RaggedYellow - Oh these two danced for a long time. Ragged was a big time flirt, but Yellow needed to time to be certain that it was legit. Ragged never wavered, though, and eventually, bit by bit, Yellow let her in.

DeerStumpClawed - Deerfoot started it, tbh. Both of them were padding after her, and all three of them knew it. She flirted back with both of them, though, confusing the hell out of them--until one night she sat them down and told them outright she fancied them both. StumpClawed came later, once they realized that they hadn't just been sticking together because life as a loner is hard, but because they were genuinely very fond of each other.

GreyMud - Think...high school sweet hearts, but when it came time to mature into an adult relationship they actually made it over that lump instead of trying to pretend to themselves that the marriage wasnt a mistake of youth. These two worked every second to love each other and keep loving each--but because neither of them like PDA, most cats don't even realize how deeply committed to each other that they were.

Shipping in the warriors fandom!

Warning for spottedleaf heart stuff because that’s a warning of its own.

Ok probably going to get some hate on this but I just wanted to point some stuff out on the shipping in my rewrite and honestly my opinion for in the fandom.. so please no death threats or any of that stuff because as I said this is my opinion and honestly those aren’t cool guys

So let me point out the number one thing I think of! They. Are. Cats! Not humans! But cats. If they were humans I will be a disgusted by the age difference but nope they are cats. Smart cats that have religion forbidden romances and all that other stuff yes but at the end of the day they are still cats.

Another thing.. if they try to stay in their age group then there will be more incest. Like really lionfrost kits (cinder, bracken, thorn and bright) are related to goldenflower’ skits (swift, lynx and even bramble and tawny) dust and raven are related to the lionfrost kits to because frostfur is dust and raven’s sister (same as fern and dust but the Erins always been messing up the incest in the books) but that’s why us fans are always trying to fix that by either making some cats former rogues or kittypets (me with robinwing, fuzzy pelt and willowpelt) but really.. in canon I don’t think the cats have much choice... and we really don’t want another patchwillow do we (like really hunters really? They are siblings!!!) also in canon they only started bringing new blood in so lots of the clans are going to be related to each other either as cousins or maybe second cousins.. somewhere down the line someone is going to ship cousins because they forgot that they were and because the Erins don’t really talk about the two cats being related

Now... the age gap. Ok i understand especially after we got the terrible book of spottedleaf heart that the age gap is kinda iffy..but I said in the paragraph above they also have to be careful with who they mate! And so I think it could be done carefully.. spottedleaf heart is a bad example since spottedleaf was a kit when thistleclaw showed intrest in her which is very wrong! Pineleopard im a little bit iffy since at least pine didn’t show any interest at leopardfoot until after she became a warrior.. heck we didn’t even know they were in a relationship until leopardfoot was in the nursery thornblossom... Just never made sense to me.. there were so many other cats thorn could have mated with and he never seem interested in anybody so why give him kits.. if they wanted blossom to have kits why thorn?

So yes I ship tigerfire because I’m a sucker to heroes x villains and the villains get a redemption arc or therapy and help (looks to all the warrior cat villains who hve daddy issues) if they were humans I would not like it at all because of the age gap and instead would let them have a mentor/apprentice friendship but their cats and my brain goes brrr also the age gap Isn’t that bad as people try to say it because it’s the same age gap between tigergolden goldenflower was already a warrior when tigerclaw was born...same with brackensorrel thrushblue ivyfern and many more

I understand and you all have your own opinions for shipping in the fandom and that’s valid! You don’t like tigerfire that fine! I’m not saying you can’t have your own opinions but I’m just putting out my reasons on how I’m shipping in my rewrite/au just remember that words can hurt people the next time you see something you don’t like.

Curiosity gets me, What’s wrong with LionFrost?

I just never liked the idea of them together

idk if there's anything wrong with them

it's just one of those couples where the more I think about them, the more I find that it's not a couple I like

there's also the issues of making Brightheart, Thornclaw, Brackenfur, and Cinderpelt related to Bramblestar and Tawnypelt

as these are some of the bigger families in Warriors

but even not taking that into consideration

Goldenflower Becomes Mates With Leopardstar AU

I'm going in this with only a vague idea

cause there was a lot of things I could do

so I'm gonna go with the idea I like the most and roll from there -

After Tigerstar's death, but before with BloodClan, Goldenflower starts going to sunningrocks to grieve, not wanting anyone to think she still loves her former mate, since he was a terrible cat

A couple days before the BloodClan battle, she finds Leopardstar there, staring into the water with an intense look.

Goldenflower is nervous and Leopardstar assures she doesn't want a fight. The two sit in silence, neither of them talking. Though it's strange at first, eventually the two are at peace with each other and leave feeling a little more at piece without anything spoken.

The build up to the battle with BloodClan, the two had been sitting in silence together and when day comes, they greet each other calmly, like long-term friends

The fight breaks out and Leopardstar and Goldenflower are holding their own quite well. However, three BloodClan cats gang up on the RiverClan leader, attacking without mercy. Goldenflower runs to help her, saving her from losing a life but earning a nasty slash across her face in the process.

The two fight off the cats and Leopardstar aids the ThunderClan molly to the medicine cats after the fight, worried about her bleeding face

Goldenflower loses use of one eye, but is okay otherwise. She and Leopardstar have their first full conversation then, fretting over each other and talking about their families to calm their nerves.

A couple nights later, they meet at the sunningrocks again and talk more and more.

Over the next few nights, Leopardstar and Goldenflower learn a lot about each other and eventually the topic turns to Tigerstar. Goldenflower admits she loved him for the longest time, but she could never forgive him, nor would she want to be near him again. Leopardstar talks about how she thought he'd make RiverClan stronger, as she was struggling with her confidence as a leader, only for him to make everything worse.

Leopardstar starts crying, grieving over Stonefur and saying how she should've never let him die, talking how he would've been a much better leader than she is.

Goldenflower tries to comfort her, but Leopardstar shakes her head, saying she knows she wasn't a good leader, but then saying how she wants to improve, to make up for her mistakes by doing her best to protect her Clan with all nine of her lives.

She follows that up with thanking Goldenflower for helping her.

The two say goodbye that night and Goldenflower's mind is filled with Leopardstar.

It's a few moons later and Firestar is gone on a mission [to revive SkyClan, but Golden doesnt know that] She and Leopard had been meeting up often and their friendship has been getting more and more intense, with a couple of nights that the two spent sleeping in a makeshift nest at sunningrocks.

Goldenflower had made up her mind and has already spoken to Brambleclaw about leaving and informs Graystripe, who is the acting leader. Graystripe is saddened that she wants to leave ThunderClan, but doesn't stop her.

She has a heartfelt goodbye before going to sunningrocks. Leopardstar is waiting there.

The two go to RiverClan and Leopardstar and Goldenflower nuzzle each other after it's announced she's joining.

Goldenflower had some trouble adjusting at first, but becomes close with Mistyfoot, Blackclaw, and Mosspelt - the three of them helping her learn camp and the traditions of RiverClan Meanwhile, Leopardstar shows Goldenflower the basics of swimming before admitting that she's a bit of a drypaw herself, not liking the water despite being a full RiverClan warrior.

Goldenflower is instantly cautious of Hawkpaw and Mothpaw, especially since they both resemble her ex mate in their own ways, but she fights back these worries and helps Leopardstar mentor Hawkpaw.

She becomes a second mother to Mothpaw and Hawkpaw, especially after Sasha leaves. Her and Leopardstar treat them like their own kits, Goldenflower showing her mate how to be patient with younger cats.

After Mothpaw and Hawkpaw becomes Mothwing and Hawkfrost, the two actually start talking about possibly having kits of their own. Even as warriors, she's as supportive of the two as she is of Tawnypelt and Brambleclaw, whom she visits regularly and sees at gatherings.

While The Chosen Cats are gone finding the territory, Goldenflower and Leopardstar have put a pause on trying to find help having kits, only to learn their most recent donor had actually been successful and Goldenflower is expecting.

Leopardstar becomes fiercely protective of her mate, giving up her own prey to make sure Goldenflower eats.

During the move from the Forest to the Lake, Goldenflower tells the news to her biological kits, Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt, before turning and informing her adopted kits, Hawkfrost and Mothwing. All four are happy for her and excited to meet their younger siblings.

While the cats are deciding territories, Goldenflower has her kits - a golden tom she names Lionkit after her brother, a brown and golden tortoiseshell she-cat she names Sunkit, and a dark ginger tom named Brightkit.

When Hawkfrost dies, Leopard and Golden grieve heavily for the loss, unaware that their adopted son had been training in the dark forest with his biological father, Tigerstar. Lion, Sun, and Bright grieve, too, as they had a fairly positive relationship with their older brother.

As warriors, Lionkit becomes Lionfrost, Sunkit becomes Sunwing, and Brightkit becomes Brightwater. Sunwing, at this point, has come out as a trans tom and has a lot of support from his mothers and brothers. Lionfrost is stubborn and loud and can be quite hard to be around as he doesn't handle having his opinions challenged. Sunwing is patient and a jokester, with cats finding it easy to be around him. Brightwater is quite and reserved, but very affectionate to those close to him.

It's also not long after they're warriors that, with more help from a donor, Leopardstar is expecting their second litter of kits and is rather nervous about being a queen. Goldenflower comforts her and promises she's there with her.

Everything is going well until Goldenflower ends up getting really sick. Leopardstar is worried, but isn't allowed near her mate.

Goldenflower is still sick by the time Leopardstar has their other kits - Flowerkit and Mudkit, twin golden-brown mollies who look like darker versions of Leopardstar.

Thankfully, Goldenflower recovers and is really happy when she can meet her kits. Goldenflower teases Leopardstar about the name Flowerkit, but the leader acts like she doesn't know what her mate is talking about.

When the battle in Eclipse takes place, Flowerkit and Mudkit had just becomes Flowerpaw and Mudpaw. Mudpaw is outraged when she isn't allowed to go, but Flowerpaw doesn't seem to mind. Both are shocked when the eclipse happens and it's around this time that Flowerpaw feels a greater power tugging at her paws.

Leopardstar ends up passing away only a couple moons after her daughters earn their warrior names - Flowerpelt and Mudfang.

A few notes

Flower and Mud have lineage from The Sisters before they even know who the Sisters are, as the tom that helped Leopardstar was distantly from the Sisters. Neither can see ghosts naturally, but Flower has a higher sense for when ghosts are around than Mud does

Goldenflower retires not long after Leopardstar passes and is quick to defend Mothwing when Mistystar is mad that she doesn't believe in StarClan

Neither toms that helped them are important or have names, but they were both two different loners - an idea had by Goldenflower to avoid having kits with a Clan tom who'd want kits with someone else in the future.

Mistystar has Brightwater as her deputy, finding him easier to talk to and sees him as being a good leader after her. Sadly, Brightwater ends up being killed by Darktail and his Kin, making way for Flowerpelt to be deputy after him.
