watched the kdrama celebrity over the last few days. was hooked from the first few seconds bc the EDITING in the show, & just the cinematography in general is on a whole nother fuckin level, man.
also, just. a really great show in general. v good at building suspense & throwing loops & very nice themes/takeaways. also just a rly interesting way to convey those themes/takeaways.
i think the only issue we had w it was the romance, but. eh. it wasn't so bad that it took away from the ample amount of good shit in the show.
def recommend it!! especially to anyone who really enjoyed the glory bc it has v similar themes.

I am not and have never been a gamer but the more I hear about hades the more it sounds like it was created just to try and tempt me into the gaming world. everything I could have wanted from a game right down to the apparently well researched mythology is there. unfortunately my non-gamer identity is more than just a choice and I am genuinely just shit at it from zero practice otherwise I would have probably bought it by now
#like it has everything to tempt me. afore mentioned accurate mythology. set in the underworld (goth).#character designs for all the mythological figures make sense and also absolutely fuck. the whole game looks visually very nice. ghosts.#the main character is even bisexual.#also as soon as I saw the achilles has basically been written as having undergone significant character development since dying#I was INTERESTED#having a biggest bitch in the achaean army (affectionate) die and eventually gain the energy of a depressed middle aged father is INSPIRED#and I (<- person with thinks far too much about the iliad disease) am always here for interesting takes on achilles#especially if they're also funny#only disappointment is that he isn't ranga 😔 the era of exclusively blonde achilles needs to end. acknowledge his canonical red hair#y'all say you love to see a ranga losing but won't let this iconic ranga lose his war prize his boyfriend his temper and his life. smh#ANYWAY. the design of orpheus in hades is also funky as hell#I was expecting something more along the lines of hadestown orpheus so to see robert smith instead was a very fun surprise#sapphire's random thoughts#hades game

you’ll all be thrilled (or i dunno like maybe mildly interested) to know that while i was away (yes, the very long, arduous ~48 hours that i was away) i had a like a gender awakening of sorts?? and realized that i’ve kinda always just used she/they pronouns to refer to myself (at least in spaces where i felt comfortable doing so), but?? i never really realized i was doing it?? so like for years?? i’ve been like “oh my pronouns are she/her/hers” but like now that i’m aware of it… i like the way it feels… we’ve (me’ve) decided to embrace it. so… she/they pronouns now! yay!
#for a lot of people this probably isn’t a big deal#but i grew up in the catholic church and um… yeah the shame you internalize as a catholic is different to like anything else#catholicism will make you feel shame about sleeping in an extra hour#so like imagine how big of a fucking thing coming out was for me#and then like i was never given the opportunity to explore my gender identity bc…#well i was never really given the opportunity to explore in general???#like my whole life has been very rigid and like ‘you are this way and you’ll always be this way. amen’#like i don’t even think my family realizes they’re that way?? or that they mean to be that way? but they very much are#my identity (in all senses of the word) was decided for me at a very young age#& it has been very hard to convince my family that any aspect of that identity is not accurate

#we're coming up on three straight weeks of spontaneous nerve pain my friends#doctors dont know whats wrong & all i can say is thank fuck i've got a real person job with benefits & live in a country w/ free healthcare#i dont even know how to explain it. i've been on meds helping the pain finally.#and only noticed they were working once they wore off and it legitimately felt like i was dying again. i hope you never know this pain#my bodys exhausted i'm exhausted even though the pain is being managed. my body is still firing all the nerves i just cant feel it anymore#i sit in bed all day and cant focus cant think cant type accurately. holding my phone hurts. but im so exhausted. i shouldnt be but i am#it occurred to me the other day that. this might not just stop. its been almost 3 weeks theres no reason to think itll just stop#and thats fucking scary. im 2* and i know age isnt correlated with health but. i shouldnt be. i dont know. im young & healthy & so confused#i just want to know whats wrong. i just want the pain to stop. the sensations to stop.#im stuck at home because thats where i should be with ease of emergency rooms but. my family is driving me crazy#half of my dad thinks im faking it (which my brain keeps latching onto bc it tries to tell me i'm fine when i#am so clearly not fine.)#char speaks

I am a normal person with a job and various normal hobbies but also if you sliced open my brain you would find a region which has existed for years and is singularly dedicated to storing my needlessly overspecific post-OOT / MM Zelda headcanons covering the span of several in-universe decades and in fact aren’t headcanons because they are all completely correct and accurate and ~thematic~
#okay so canon strongly suggests that TP Link is a descendant of OOT Link but I dislike the trope of biology/bloodlines = magic destiny#also OOT Link was raised by a talking tree and literally never even met an adult until he was like. eleven.#therefore dude has no attachment to the concept of marriage or a ✨nuclear family✨ and by the time he grows into adulthood again#he gives like. negative fucks about anything. he’s paid his dues to the world man.#therefore he ends up in some kind of polycule thing + raises a bunch of kids some of whom are maybe ‘’his’’ but several are adopted orphans#so like. inherited generational Stuff is going on and he’s a parent in every way that matters but as far as biological ancestry: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#he obsessively teaches them all the survival skills he knows but is super lax in most other respects#(no sword training tho bc he didn’t want them to HAVE to know and then by the time he was maybe ready he physically couldn’t anymore)#and is thrilled to see them turn all rowdy and rebellious bc he feels like his life would’ve gone better if he’d been that way as a kid#in the same way that Link was somewhat modeled after Peter Pan (or really one of the lost boys to be more accurate)#the kids end up akin to Robin Hood and the outlaws especially after Link dies at a fairly young age bc they’re quite reasonably like#‘’hey fuck you queen Zelda you ruined our dad’s life fuck off fuck offffffffff’’#(cue them being derisively called a wolf pack—foreshadowing the whole Assigned Wolf Fursona at Death thing lmfao)#this ends up being extremely relevant to 1.) what happened to the actual ocarina of time between MM and TP#2.) it floors me anytime someone is dumbfounded when the source material of ancient poems and epics is brought into a conversation about ancient myths. you’re going to look at me and seriously tell me that you think a 2000s adaption into a childrens series is going to be more accurate than the actual ancient poets that recorded the stories? you’re going to question me straight faced on how there can be a “real” or “accurate” way of telling a story when 3 different ancient poets wrote it the same way? i’m pulling all of my hair out of my head you have to watch me strand by strand.

#spooky arts#i have so many issues with this design#first off. he looks nothing like p03. aside from the freckles or the specific way i draw his eyes/brows (but youd have to follow my art to#know this) theres nothing that tells you who it is at the first glance.#secondly. he looks too young. baby faced motherfucker. i mean these fickers dont age normally on the account of not being organic but#COME ON.
