Pompeii came out 10 years ago: sounds right. that's not even that long ago?!
Last all time low concert was 5.5 years ago: absolutely not. that's literally impossible. that's like half a lifetime, the Fuck?!

Even if Capcom didn't plan anything with the writing and Project W wasn't a thing until RE5, I still love the fact that the reveal recontextualizes Wesker's line to Chris in RE1:
Tumblr media
It's meant to be all smug he's like "I've always been with Umbrella 😏" But now knowing Wesker's backstory it's quite a sad and ironic line. Like he really has always been with Umbrella... This is one of my roman empires my guy thought he was chilling as Dr. Frankenstein when instead, he was actually Frankenstein's monster.

[ID: A colored, digital illustration of Link and Marin from Link's Awakening. It is a bird's eye view of the scene where Link washes up on Toronbo Shores, with one difference: Link is a mermaid.
Link rests her head on her right arm, wet hair spilling over her shoulder. Her hat, scabbard and shield are resting in the waves next to her; her tail drapes behind her as water laps at her scales. She has pink hair and a bit of a tan. Marin kneels and reaches out a hand tentatively. She is a woman of color with brown skin and russet curls. Both of their faces are obscured. end id]

It’s “realizing that Will’s struggle in S2 with being infected with a virus that spreads and will kill him quickly (but doctors don’t care) is a metaphor for how gay men were treated during the aids crisis” hours
—right alongside Mike (who comes from a family with a Reagan sign in their front yard + a mom who outwardly supported Margret Thatcher), who sat at his now confirmed gay best friend’s side the entire time he was sick and watched as people were willing to let him die because he was viewed as expendable……and now has an ongoing storyline where
1) his relationship with his girlfriend is falling apart because he doesn’t love her romantically
2) he’s staring longingly and pushing toward the freedom his gay best friend embodies for him, and
3) he cannot bring himself to tell anyone around him something because “what if they don’t like it” + dehumanize him for telling the secret truth he cannot bring himself to externalize, despite now knowing something that scares him about about himself:
Tumblr media
(Bonus points for the fact that the first time we see Mike push Will and himself toward a girl is after he watches how people were willing to let his gay best friend (and him, by extension) die should they not confirm to expectations)

Going absolutely insane over the concept of name and identity in The Odyssey. The concept of recognition. Like, the reveal of one's identity is present in both The Iliad and The Odyssey, but specifically The Odyssey drives me into despair.
The Phaeacians don't recognize Odysseus. His family doesn't recognize Odysseus (except his dog!! all praise Argos). Odysseus doesn't recognize Ithaca. There's barely any recognition without revealing, and Odysseus takes a while to reveal himself. Chronologically speaking, his first disguise in The Odyssey is Nobody. And when he does reveal his true identity, it causes him and his crew pain and suffering. Maybe that instilled a fear of revealing his true identity. His name invoked the death of his men. And all his other identities (too tired to remember/look for all the names he's gone under), while realistic and authentic sounding, are non-existent. All those people he claimed he was are not real. They are nobody. If he is not Odysseus, he is nobody, and if he is not nobody, he is Odysseus. But Odysseus, his fucking name drives me insane. His name means to hate. Since his childhood that hatred was imprinted on him. Do you think it left an lasting impact?? Some sort of "expectation" that he had to meet?? A curse, a constant shadow following him everywhere he goes?? Something he inherited, that is tied to him even if it's not his?? Hate was tied to him directly through his name that his grandfather gave him. In The Iliad, everyone refers to him as "Son of Laertes (which is obviously the way they identified as back then)", "sacker of cities", "long-enduring" etc etc. But Odysseus refers to himself as "Father of Telemachus". Also this:
Tumblr media
He swears by his son's name, by the name of someone, something that is his. Something that is not inherited, that isn't placed upon him. Something that he earned himself. Something that he loves, the opposite of the hate that is his name. It's a part of him, part of his identity. And if he is not the son of Telemachus, then he isn't Odysseus. He is nobody.
But in The Odyssey, he refers to himself as the sacker of cities. When he introduces himself to the Phaeacians, he says that he is the sacker of cities. His invention of the Trojan horse was the bane of Troy. And that trick is a part of him, his cunning and trickery. He destroyed the home of hundreds, thousands of people. And do you think, that after every hardship he faced on his journey back home, he lost his sense of self?? In the war, he had the hope of going back home. He had the hope that he would see his wife and son again. As long as the other kings and soldiers are there, also longing to go back home, then his hope is real. He is real. But after all of his men died, he was alone. No one to share his longing, to share his hope. No one is there to remind him that he is real. So he only has his newer memories, new things that are tied to him. Sacker of cities. Long enduring. Doesn't sound all that happy. It almost sounds like hate. Without the hope of seeing everything that is his because he earned/worked for it himself, he goes back to his name. It might be the only thing grounding him, reminding him that he is real. And when he hears the bard sing of the fall of Troy, the man absolutely weeps. Because he sings about him. He sings about the fall of Troy, and it fell because of him. It fell because he is the sacker of cities. He is the sacker of cities because he is Odysseus. Because he doesn't know who he is. And even Penelope when she listens to the bard wants him to sing about something else. Someone else. Because that is not her Odysseus, her husband, her son's father. It hurts her to think that even though he might be alive, her Odysseus is gone. He is dead either way. And even his son when he sees him first thinks he is a god. That he is not human, that he is not a man. Because gods are immortal, ever lasting. And mortals have only a lifetime to make it worth it, to attach something to themselves and their names. And Telemachus thinks that his father is a god, that his father has no name and no identity of his own.
And when his loved ones recognize him, it's by the things he attached himself to during the war. The things that are a part of his real identity, of his identity. Odysseus tells his son that he is his father. Argos recognizes him as his master. Eurycleia recognizes his scar that he earned when he went hunting. He tells his father about the trees in the orchard. And Penelope finally believes it's him because of the olive tree bed story. The bed that he built himself. That he built his home around. And Penelope doesn't believe it's truly Odysseus, because he is not the man that left Ithaca twenty years ago. But when Odysseus is able to tell her about the bed, she can believe it's Odysseus. Or atleast a part of him is there. It's Odysseus Odysseus, the name and identity that he built. And not Odysseus, the name that simply means hate.

How would the bots and cons handwriting be like? (Sorry for my bad English lol)
Ahhh! I love this idea! Had WAY too much fun with this.
Bots and Cons Handwriting
Optimus:
-Can write insanely neatly, and in literally ANY font
-Everything he writes looks like it came straight from Google Docs
-He can perfectly recreate Comic Sans, much to the children's amusement
-Handwriting KING
-He's too powerful
Arcee:
-Her handwriting is gorgeous
-She writes very neatly, definitely in cursive
-Everything she writes looks like a diary from the Victorian era
-Majestic✨✨✨✨
Ratchet:
-Cursive, but MESSY cursive
-Like, REALLY messy cursive. What is he even writing? Who knows? It's a mystery.
-You know, cuz, like, that's how a pharmacist's prescriptions look, and he's a medic. Lol
-Ratchet has messy pharmacist handwriting
Bumblebee:
-His handwriting is so cute😭
-Basically Comic Sans
-Not PERFECT Comic Sans like Optimus, but just bubbly and adorable
-Having legible handwriting is something he practices a lot, since his voice box is broken. Writing is a nice way to express himself if need be.
-He has kindergarten teacher handwriting
-My dyslexia would be so happy
Smokescreen:
-Neat enough handwriting, but HE WRITES SO BIG
-All caps, all the time
-He goes through too many notebooks, because he saves NO space
-Poor guy. He just has a big personality
Bulkhead:
-Unreadable
-His hands are just way too big
-Very messy. Only Wheeljack can read it because he and Bulkhead share the same braincells
-Bulkhead and Ratchet get in arguments, because Ratchet's reads Bulk's handwriting, and is like: "Bulkhead, your attempts at penmanship are downright INCOMPREHENSIBLE."
And Bulkhead's like: "You say that like any of us can read yours!"
And Arcee's like: "I second that."
And Bumblebee buzzes in agreement.
Ratchet just rolls his eyes, like "ugh." Because he can't argue. HIS handwriting is gibberish, too.
Ultra Magnus:
-Opposite of Smokescreen...Ultra Magnus's handwriting is TINY!
-Seriously, where is it? You need a microscope.
-Only the humans can read it, because it's so small. And even THEY have to squint
-It's also PERFECT. His handwriting is very neat
and blocky, like a typewriter
-If only we could actually see it
Wheeljack:
-He's like, a graphic design CHAMPION
-He learned handwriting from Miko, so he loves big bubble letters. He decorates them with cool patterns, like flames, and lightning bolts
-Very stylish
Megatron:
-What I can only describe as "spooky cursive"
-Very formal, and kinda gothic
-He'd use some kind of calligraphy pen with very dark, splattery ink, or, like, whatever the Cybertronian version of a quill is.
-He's an elegant guy...well, sort of, except most of what he writes consists of:
"My dearest Starscream,
It is with great regret (note my sarcasm, Starscream.) It is with great PLEASURE that I must inform you...
I have caught you invading my stash of dark energon, once again.
I will be grinding you into scrap metal momentarily.
Yours truly,
Lord Megatron."
Starscream:
-Starscream has the ABILITY to write neatly, and in cursive
-But he writes very scribbly, because he's angry
-If "ranting" was a font, it's the font he writes in
-Also, he probably keeps a rage journal, where he trash talks everyone he knows
-Somebody help him🥲
Soundwave:
-Handwriting? What's that?
-He probably uses his internal computer to make documents, and prints them
-And when he prints things, they probably slide out of his neck. Terrifying. So he prints things to freak Starscream out
-It's beautiful
-If Soundwave was FORCED to handwrite, he'd do it in computer code, or morse code, or something weird like that. Everyone would be baffled trying to understand it.
Airachnid:
-Very splattery
-But that's what happens when you use energon and human blood as ink.
Shockwave:
-Writes in calculator font
-Like, the font a calculator has
-He says it's "the most logical font"
-Starscream constantly judges him for it
Breakdown:
-Definitely not neat, but not Bulkhead levels of messy, either
-He doesn't have the best handwriting, but he can make some pretty good doodles
-If, for some reason, Megatron assigned Breakdown and Knockout a task involving handwriting, Breakdown and Knockout would both doodle instead of being productive
Knockout:
-Ooo! So majestic!
-It's very bold
-His handwriting is suave and announcer-y, just like him
-It'd also be curved slightly to the right, like italics
-Almost like something you'd see in a commercial, or a movie trailer, or a billboard
-Like a NASCAR advertisement (y'know, because race car)
