comparing Dramaturg to Dramaturg is like. Overachiever Neurodivergent Kid vs Overachiever Neurodivergent Kid Theatre Olympics but I think I really crushed this interview the other day.

I came in having found a copy of the script and read the whole thing, so I knew more or less what I was actually talking about. I had opinions about concept, and more importantly on research questions and avenues. If anything I was let down because they seemed unprepared for what a dramaturg could do for them? Which I think made my answers (Which I was afraid were just straight up quoting from the new books I read) seem super insightful. Bruh like. If you want to pay me $500 (Which is what I just made for an SM gig where I was at every rehearsal +2hrs of convo/paperwork) for showing up 1/week and asking insightful questions and writing my little program note I’d kiss you. Kissing you on the mouth.

i think I’m worth it. I think that my research/condensation skills are advanced enough in my everday life to warrant being paid to supply them but god no one has been this interested in them since I graduated and it feels really good!!! fuck I want this job so fucking bad!!!!

Like sure maybe there’s a goddamn IWW organizer who used to work at Walmart who interviews, but did they have out the gate three ideas for a lobby display, seven avenues for the program note, and was clicking back on how the director would want to use them? I think I really showed my shit and made a really good first interview for their team. The AD even asked for my play which I had sort of oversold its W.E.DuBois’s ness but I think I can salvage lololol. But still!!!
