What happened to Tordball AU chapter two? R you still doing that?

i dunno tbh. havent had the motivation to actualy sit down and write it, but i do know what goes down

will put spoilers for my whole ideas for the second chapter below:

Tom learns the power of family when Ted Lasso sneaks into his room and stabs him and tom is like "whos blood is this???" and ted is like "i dunno lets find out!!" and they travel on the magic schoolbus to the hospital to take a sample of tom's blood and find out whos blood it is and then its revealed to have been ted's blood (dun dun DUNNNN) because ted lasso was secretly his father. and then they do father son activities and do father son stuff i guess like catch and baseball and quidditch.

meanwhile edd tries to teach matt how to play soccer the correct way and then matt pops a hole in tordball because you are not supposed to bite soccer balls and tordball screams in agony and does not stop screaming so edd kicks him until he flattens completely and matt panics and calls the police and edd is arrested for murder and goes on trial but tordball is judge (he faked his death) and the only witness is... you guessed it.... Gertrude (also faked his death i think idk i don't remember if he died in the first chapter or not) and then matt breaks into the courtroom riding a dinosaur and kills gertrude and busts edd out of there so now they're criminals on the run but that doesn't matter because they go home and watch seinfield

I saw that post and it made me so mad! Jamie was a prick in S1, but Roy was also a prick, the show just sided with him more! I'm not forgiving Jamie's behaviour in S1, but honestly, watching it back he comes across as like an arrogant mean teenager, making himself feel big by taking others down. And thats bad, don't get me wrong. But then you've got a man in his mid 30s, threatening his team with violence constantly, letting himself get riled up to the point of trying to fight a 20 something, and physically attacking a team mate to the point said team mate got a concussion. But thats fine for those people apparently? I love Jamie's arc and its partly due to the fact that he and Rebecca are the only two who were actually ever held accountable for their actions

I'm saying, like!! this show overall has a pretty good track record with ~redemption arcs~ and it's because these characters are at their core good people. They are good people who have made bad decisions or a series of bad decision because of circumstances and struggles in their own lives. Now, of course that's no excuse for their bad actions, and i would never defend those actions, but there's a difference between excusing and explaining! and the show explicitly offers explanations for Jamie's behavior (as well as the others) that show they can be corrected and that do not in any way make the characters irredeemable.

this person in particular was also being flat out ridiculous because they were trying to argue that Jamie only ever got a redemption arc because viewers ended up loving Jamie. Like, first of all Jamie's redemption arc STARTS IN SEASON ONE, which automatically means it wasn't a product of fan response, lmao. Secondly I can tell them as someone who was around during season 2, Jamie was not nearly as widely beloved or as much a fan favorite until the third season. Hell, I know many people who say they didn't care about Jamie at all until Man City! So no, the writers didn't redeem Jamie because "fans are obsessed with Phil" or "because he's pretty." Just, ew.

anyway, the whole point of the show is that we can all learn to be better for and because of the people and community around us. Jamie & Rebecca are able to course correct and change very quickly once the first domino falls because they aren't bad people who need to change fundamentally. They are good people who just need others around who actually believe in them and see the good in them. They just need nudging back onto the right path.

Which is all to say that Jamie doesn't deserve redemption is to misunderstand the entire show I'm so serious. like i don't think that person actually likes Ted Lasso, because.

you know, i am really glad andrew garfield is finally getting some down time. he has been busy since nwh and he deserves a breather.

should said breather be with the shadiest person he’s dated? imo, no, it shouldn’t. however, he’s a grown man and if he wants to make bad decisions, that’s on him, nothing i can do about it. do i support this stupid decision? absolutely not, but i still support him and i will continue to support him. he is going through lot, like losing his mother, i believe he, like many of us, is still recovering from the mental and emotional issues the virus left us with, he suddenly overloaded his schedule and was thrown heavily back into the limelight with nwh. dude is grieving and trying to piece himself together and while i personally haven’t gone through losing a parent, i know what some sort of loss and heartbreak feel like and i know it can really mess with your head and lead to you making some of the worst mistakes of your life. now i am not excusing his decision to date such a shady woman, but it’s his life.

imo, she is more than likely taking advantage of his vulnerable state and using it to her advantage. i imagine her tiktok and whatever else social media she uses has blown up because we keep checking it out to prove she’s shady and that’s probably what she wants. she’s gaining viewers even if you’re viewing to prove she’s a shady person. now i cannot confirm this, it’s just my personal opinion, feel free to disagree.

back to andrew, i have been a fan of his since i was 12, i am 24 now; that is literally half of my existence. this parasocial relationship i have “with” him has been a HUGE part of my life, clearly since it’s been there for half my life. i personally will continue to support him (unless he does something that is just absolutely awful) and not blame him for choosing a terrible partner at this moment in his life. i have been in a dark place before in my life to where my decisions weren’t the best ones, in fact they were the worst ones. so to put blame or hate on someone for choosing a shady partner while they’re publicly stating that they’re grieving is, imo, such a weird thing to do. again, feel free to disagree. his movies and his interviews personally helped me through a lot and i am sure they’ve done the same for many others. like 65% of my personality is being a fan of his. people i barely talk to but who know me on some sort of personal level, immediately think of me when they see anything related to andrew garfield. hell, my phone sometimes automatically fills in ‘and’ as ‘andrew’ because i talk about him so much. he was my third most listened to artist on spotify last year. i won’t go on about my personal belongings that are related to him because we will be here all day. but to stop supporting someone who has been a part of my life in some way for a long time all because he’s choosing a shady partner in a dark time in his life is an absolutely wild concept to me.

yes, i am fully aware of what she has done and it’s really fucking shitty. she is, imo, a terrible person. she uses people for money, which in this economy, should be a crime, it really should.

if you wanna stop being a fan or stop supporting him or hate on him, that’s 1000% your choice and i personally will not fight you on it. it’s your life, no one can stop you from making the decisions you want to, even if they’re bad ones.
