Genre: Regency Gothic AU
Pairing: EXO x Reader
Summary: A stormy night brought you to the manor in the middle of the woods. Nine strange men occupied its halls. They won't let you leave. A dangerous secret haunts this estate. Learning it might either be your saving grace or it could lead to the last breath you ever take.
Part: 1 I 2
**
Lightning lit up the thin curtains covering the two small windows on either side of the carriage. Thunder rumbled and you felt it deep within your chest. Tugging your silk cloak closer, you closed your eyes and prayed that the driver would get you through the storm. There was no one to comfort you, to reassure you that a little rain and noisy sky wouldn't delay your journey.
Your father had insisted you take your sister or even a friend, but the two day’s journey didn’t  seem consequential enough to need a companion. Besides, what would they have done once you arrived? Your elderly aunt had only asked for you. From what you could decipher from her letter, she needed you to be a companion as she traveled to the southernmost coastal town. Apparently, it was now the ultimate fashion to travel to for the summer. Just the idea of rolling waves made your stomach churn. But what was worse was who else would be there–
The carriage jolted to the right. You spread out your arms, only barely catching yourself from falling to the floor. No sane person would have endured such dangerous weather. This storm had come from nowhere. Skies blue and cloudless as you had ever seen bid you farewell in the late morning. Most of the day's journey had been uneventful. Then the joyful light faded. Thunder shook the walls of the carriage. Rain pounded on the roof. When would you reach the inn? Bile rose up in your throat, burning the sensitive tissue as the carriage continued to rock violently. The horses neighed over the sounds of the storm.
The carriage shifted hard to the left. And kept falling. You slammed into the door, nearly opening it with the force. You didn't know what was happening. The floor was now the wall and the wall the floor. A downward momentum made it impossible to stand. Screams ripped at your throat.
Then it stopped.
The rain continued to pour and the thunder roared on but the carriage was still. Your legs wobbled as you slowly stood. With your palms, you pushed open the door. The thin wooden panel clapped against the outside of the carriage. Immediately you were pounded by the storm. Large drops pelted your face, obscuring your vision. It was dark. You could tell that much. And there were trees. In every direction.
You climbed out of the carriage, calling for the driver. Your feet slipped in the mud, but you managed to keep your balance–for now. The mud was thick and sticky as you trudged to the front of the carriage.
No. No, no, no. Both of the horses were gone. And so was the driver. Somehow, the carriage had fallen down a hill or ravine. With a storm this terrible, you needed to get to higher ground or risk possibly being carried away–or drowning. Clawing and digging your hands and feet into the soaked dirt, you climbed the hard incline back to the road.
Once you could make out the road, you called for the driver again. No answer. He was nowhere to be found. You needed to find shelter. The storm gave no promise of letting up. You wouldn't survive the night in this forest, even if you went back into the carriage. The only choice was to find sanctuary. You stared in the direction you believed you came from. Nothing but trees and darkness. You turned to the other choice. All the same–wait.
There was something... when lightning brightened up the sky. Your heart began banging in your ears. Spires, towers. Not trees. It was some distance away, but it was shelter nonetheless.
With near tears in your eyes, you picked up your skirts–your fingers numb from the cold–and hurried towards the castle that could be your saving grace.
*****
The manor was calm tonight. Odd, considering the amount of bodies roaming around these haunted halls. Only the beautiful storm outside and Chanyeol's sorrowful melody from the piano broke the silence. Jongin had draped himself over one of the arm chairs as he inspected the wine mixture within his goblet. The taste was… adequate. The cellar would need replenishing soon.
In the corner, a rather lax game of cards covered the small, round table. Minseok smirked at his winning hand. The faded wooden chips with bits of white painted around the edges were piling up in front of Yixing, who leaned back carelessly, sure of his next win. Little did either of them know that the youngest among them had a little... trick his sleeve. As the quickest, Sehun had perfected sleight of hand long ago. None had caught him yet.
A fire roared, coaling the usually gray and brown room in flickering orange. With how close he stood near the fireplace, Kyungsoo's silhouette was visible through his loose shirt. He leaned his palms on the mantel and let the warmth of the flames engulf him. Warmth was all they could feel after all these years. It could be an addiction so strong it was tempting to throw himself into the fire.
Junmyeon joined him at the fireplace, leaning his shoulders against the brick. The bite of the edge hardly registered in his mind. Pain of that measure... it was only a ghost that had nearly crossed over.
“Such strong thoughts for a night like this.”
Kyungsoo didn’t look from the fire, but raised a questioning eyebrow in response.
Junmyeon shrugged a single shoulder. “I can’t read minds, but it's obvious you're turning something over more times than a praying rock.”
“It's the same thoughts,” Kyungsoo murmured in his strange, monotone voice. “Always the same thoughts.”
“One day you will have to let it go,” Junmyeon sighed. “This is our existence now. And forever will be.”
“Acceptance of the present doesn’t erase the past.”
“But it does make the present more enjoyable.” The red liquid sloshed against the rim of the goblet as Jongin draped an arm over Kyungsoo’s shoulders. He wore a mischievous smile. A clear indicator of his true intention.
Junmyeon shook his head. “We’re not going out tonight. There’s nothing out and about in this storm.” Hunting in these conditions would wield no trophies. Tomorrow would be a better night.
“Jun’s no fun tonight,” Jongdae teased as he and Baekhyun emerged from the hallway.
“If you want to go out in this mess,” Junmyeon waved towards the front door. “Be my guest. Just don’t you dare get mud on the rug–”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
“Help! Please! Help!”
Nine pairs of eyes snapped to the echoing sound. None moved.
Bang! Bang!
BANG!
One of the double doors burst open and a figure fell to the floor, landing on its knees and palms. It looked up. A flash of lightning illuminated the face.
The face of a beautiful young girl.
*****
Your knees vibrated when they hit the wooden floor. Water fell from your loose hair that clung to your cheeks. The chances of  the door opening when you pushed on the handle had been low–yet the barrier that kept you victim to the storm fell open and you crashed downward with it.
Greeting you in this strange hall were several men, their jaws hanging open in a mirror of your own surprise. More men appeared from a side parlor, curious as to who dared intrude on their evening. One, two, three–you counted nine total. Nine men. This was not ideal–a bit terrifying, really–but you didn't have a choice. The storm raged outside.
"P-please," you stammered past chattering teeth "The st-storm overturn-overturned the carriage.”
The men stayed silent as they exchanged unreadable glances. One raised a questionable brow.
"Jongdae, go run a bath," ordered the man closest to you. One of the shorter residents nodded and disappeared into the darkness that led into the rest of the manor.
That's what this place was. A grand old manor, not a castle. Isolated. When you'd first run through the rusted iron gate, you'd feared it abandoned. A long dormant instinct whispered that you might have been better off if it had been.
The first man approached, each motion slow, deliberate, and hauntingly graceful. He crouched down in front of you and captured your frightened stare. The fear in you began to melt away. He was… beautiful. Obsidian fell over his forehead in gentle waves. His tunic was of a fashion your grandfather would have worn. There was something strange about this man–all of these men. Something... different.
"Let's get you warmed up." He held his hand out and you were up on your feet before you even realized your fingers were resting on his. "Don't worry," he murmured. "You're safe here. My name is Junmyeon."
You nodded, somehow believing him, but unsure if you should. Through your violent chattering, you managed to stammer out your name in response.
Bang!
You jumped at the sudden noise. One of the other men had somehow appeared behind you to shut the door you'd fallen through.
"Thank you, Yixing," the man beside you said. The one named Yixing nodded and then shifted his eyes to you. “Come.” A hand pressed into the space between your shoulder blades and guided you down the hall, leaving a trail of mud in your wake.
The man led you down several halls until you reached an unoccupied bedroom. Red blankets draped the oversized bed. Matching curtains hung limply from the canopy. All of the wood was a dark sort, rich in color but not quite welcoming like other, brighter woods.
Jongdae emerged from another door on the other side of the bedroom. Steam rolled out after him as if it were following him for its next set of orders. “Anything else?” he asked drily.
“No, thank you.”
Jongdae strolled the from the room without a glance either of you and closed the door behind him. Your breath hitched in your throat. The two of you were… alone. It wasnt appropriate. It was…
You looked to the man still with you, fear causing your heart to pound painful against your chest. You tugged your cloak closer to you, but it was soaked from the rain. Shivers violently raced down your arms and spine. The man didn’t seem to notice as he walked over to the dresser and opened the top drawer. He pulled out a long white cloth.
“These should suffice for tonight.” He held up the cloth for you to see. A nightgown. An old one by the cut of it, though thankfully it hadn’t been devoured by moths or mice. “If you need anything else, don’t hesitate to ask.”
You nodded. “Thank you.”
He visibly suppressed a laugh at your small voice and waved you into the adjoining bathroom. Taking the nightgown, you tried your best to avoid his gaze. You scurried inside and shut the door.
*****
Junmyeon smirked at your mousy state. It was understandable why you were so frightened. The women of this period were warned of being alone with a man. And now you were alone with nine.
Nine very dangerous men.
The proper action for him to take was to leave your room now that you were safe inside the bathroom, but his feet didn’t move. Somehow, the storm had stranded you in their forest. What had happened to the driver, he wondered. Surely a gentlewoman such as yourself was not controlling the carriage. And yet, you were all alone. Circumstances were… ideal.
A small hiss echoed in the bathroom. It stretched out, along with the sound of sloshing water. Junmyeon frowned.
Hm.
He stood there for a few minutes more, listening to you sigh as your skin grew used to the scalding water. The sound of soap scraping against skin reached his ears, followed by more sloshing water. Soon, you would be getting out of the tub. Time to leave.
He emerged from the bedroom, careful to close the door as quietly as possible. Everyone had gathered out in the hallway since they were too curious about their visitor to go about their night. Junmyeon found Jongdae blending in with the cluster. He glared at him as he hissed, "The water was too hot."
Jongdae merely shrugged. Why would he care about water possibly being too hot? It would never hurt him.
On the opposite end of the group, Yixing cleared his throat. "What are we going to do with her?"
Junmyeon glanced at the door behind him. There was only one best option, for all their sakes. "Tomorrow morning, we will send her on her way."
The eruption was instant.
“Enough!”
In an instant, the hissing ceased.
Baekhyun huffed and folded his arms against his chest, collapsing against the wall. Jongin scoffed. "Such a waste."
“A waste that will keep this household from tearing itself apart,” Junmyeoun countered. It was an outcome none of them wanted. No one wanted to cause a fight, but resisting was difficult. The temptation was great. The quicker you left, the better off they would all be.
"Do you really think it’ll end so well?" Minseok’s mocking comment hung in the air. Silent agreements rippled through the air.
Junmyeon looked to Kyungsoo, whose answer was to look away. "No one touches her," he ordered. They all would try, he knew. But their strength would only get them so far. He stared down a few of them especially, so they knew he meant it.
Sehun pushed off the wall with a roll of his eyes. "Just get her out of here so I can get some peace."
Junmyeon started to call after him but was interrupted by a soft thud from the room behind him. Confused, he opened the door to find you lying on the floor.

You were always sitting by the window facing whomping willow, a book in your hands that flipped pages with a soft sound. Sehun would lean his head against one of the many book shelves, eyes closed as he just listened. The title could be about animals or herbs, even the universe was in your rotations of books. But it was your time to relax, his too, and he really needed it right now. There was a quidditch match right around the corner, looming over his shoulders like his bloodline.
Sehun was a pureblood and he remembered the day he got sorted to slytherin, the happiness and relief he felt made him almost feel like he was drowning. But that was a long time ago, he was young back then, believing in blood and pride. Things were different now when he was sitting on the floor just breathing. The wish for everything to always be like this was growing like weed in his soul.
-
Cheering echoed like a white noise in his head. Chanyeol swished around in his red clothing with grins on his lips. Sure, they were friends with each other but he was competitive and Sehun knew he actually had to try, if he wanted to avoid the disappointment of his father.
Sweat dropped down his forehead as the Quaffel was thrown up.
“Game on” someone screamed as Sehun focused everything on the snitch. He had to get it.
Wind ripped around him as he flew towards the golden ball, seeing the other seeker in the corner of his eye. Sehun barely managed to avoid the gryffindor coming at him.
Diving down, he slipped between wooden poles, only accompanied by the drumming of his heart. He was lean which meant he could move fast and it made him a great seeker, but he was also foolish.
Coming up from the tunnel like graves around the arena, he was so focused on the snitch he missed the other seeker.  Swirling around and around, pain shot up his side. Sehun could feel his vision blurr but he had to ignore it and all the gasps from the public. He couldn't even hear what the announcer said, only try to steer his broom right.
“Shit shit…”his mumble was lost to the wind, adrenaline making the pain forgettable. The snitch was so close now, he could almost feel it with his fingers tips. Cheering broke out around him and Sehun exhaled one last time.
Lifting his gaze from the golden ball, time stopped, because there was another golden thing right before him. His obsidian eyes met yours as you were standing with the other hufflepuffs, right in the direction he was flying towards. It was you and only you, until there was nothing.
Gaps broke through the crowd and you put your hands over your mouth. Someone was screaming at the slytherin beaters but you could only stare at the green and black pile on the ground. Both bludgers had hit him in the side.
Teachers rushed towards him, Hagrid lifting the limp body and ignoring Mcgonagall's warnings to wait for a gurney.
You hadn't spoken much with Sehun but you knew about the Oh family since they had an interesting history but rumors spread like wildfires in Hogwarts so you knew more than just history too. Searching through the crowd, you found the man who had similar features to Sehun but he didn't even look concerned. No, he only stood up and left the stand.
“Did he die?” someone to your right asked but you could only hope it was not the case, besides Madame Pomfrey was excellent with what she was doing, the best. You knew since you had studied a little under her and she was almost a miracle worker.
Sehun groaned as he seemingly came back to life, the grogginess and headache making him turn to the side and hope for a bucket or something to catch his last lunch. But nothing came up, only liquid since he hadn't eaten for five days.
Coughing, he managed to focus on the tall windows. It wasn't something new, being in the hospital wing, but the figure standing to his right, holding a bucket, was something new.
You looked concerned at his pale face, even if you had watched it turn green, blue and red. He had some nasty bruises still but they had started to fade, all thanks to…
“Madame Pomfrey, he’s awake!” you called for the peculiar woman, watching as she came out from her room.
She had a tendency to not like when the wing was crowded but ever since you expressed interest in healing magic, had she helped you and taken a liking to you. Madame Pomfrey would smile at you and say that she felt safe leaving her wing to you when her time had come. It made you feel both warm and weird, how could she not be in the hospital wing? Folding sheets or making sure that all the supplies were stocked?
“Now now mister Oh, please stay down..” she pushed Sehun down gently, making him still as she checked to see how he had healed.
You remember coming later the same day he had fallen, just before curfew. The scary bandages and hollowness of his eyes. It got worse when Madame Pomfrey told you about the broken ribs and arm and dislocated shoulder and twisted ankle and…yeah, you were surprised he was as whole as he was.
“Everything seems to be healing right but I want you to rest for this day…”the Madame stood up, mumbling to herself a little as she thought about what she had to write down, you guessed.”I’ll get you some food…and Y/n, please don't stay too long, our patient needs his sleep..”
She said everything with a smile but you knew she meant it too, besides why were you here? You didn't know Sehun..maybe you should tell his friends instead.
Madame Pomfrey left with the closing of the privacy screens and you were alone with Sehun. It got awkward fast, you wondered why you were still there and he thought about how you had seen him take fall from the sky and throw up. He was so cool..yeah right, all he had to do now was say something stupid.
“How..how are you feeling?” the question hung in the air, your voice soft like the turning of pages.
Sehun closed his eyes, floating back to all the times in the library, the peace and calm. He hadn't realised until now but you were a safe space just as much as the window nook.
“I’m sore but that’s about it…have a little bit of a headache, maybe..”your smile was too pretty, almost unfair. He knew why you belonged to hufflepuff.
“That’s good…since you took quite a fall..”his slightly reddening cheeks made you giggle. Gazing at him up close was so different from seeing him in the corridors, the boy was not as scary as you thought.
The ruffle of fabric made the both of you tense as Madame Pomfrey arrived with food, her blue eyes having something knowing in them.
“Here you go mister Oh…eat carefully now so it stays down..”she left as soon as she came but you knew it was time for you to go as well.
“Well I should leave you now…”it actually made him disappointed, seeing you stand up from the chair. It felt empty now. “By the way…you caught it, the snitch..”
-
“Dude! You can't scare us like that!” Chanyeol’s loud voice made Madame Pomfrey almost throw her tray, glaring at the giant who pulled the privacy screens with one goal in mind. Junmeyon had the decency to look embarrassed and apologetic at the older woman before he to piled into the almost room.”I really thought you were dead!”
Sehun smiled a little, the feeling of warmness spreading through his cold chest when he watched Junmyeon, Chanyeol and Baekhyun standing before him. The others would be here too if it weren't for school and Madame Pomfrey. But they were family and the best thing that could have ever happened to him. They were what made him take the right way, his own way.
“Yea! I mean, we couldn't have let you go in that way! It would have been too embarrassing for you!” Baekhyun teased but Junmyeon would later tell him that the other slytherin boy had cried for days and been red eyed due to it. Chaewon had told them about how scared he was, even after it was declared that Sehun would survive.
“How did you miss the bludgers!?”Chanyeol leaned forward, staring his friend down. Sehun was usually one of the best players and missing those goddamn iron balls was one hell of a rookie mistake, especially since it was so they were coming towards him.
Something clicked in Baekhyun's brain and he got that grin on his face, accompanied with that look that only meant hell was about to go down. Junmyeon swallowed because he also knew why and it was spelt hufflepuff.
“Maybe he was looking for something else..just as gold as the snitch..”the smirk widened, his tone crawling over Sehun’s skin. Baekhyun leaned forward, excitement in his brown eyes.”A little bird whispered that she had been here everyday since the fall…hmm, you wouldn't know, would ya?”
Sehun’s cheeks reddened and that was that, his crush confirmed for his loud mouthed friend. Chanyeol’s eyes widened as realisation hit him like the Hogwarts express.
“Is it her you have been going to all this time? When you just disappear?” Chanyeol’s question made Sehun even hotter in the face and Baekhyun made some delighted noise.
“My my..have our little Sehunnie fallen in love? I never thought I would see the day!” Baekhyun could tease anyone to death but he was quickly remiended with his own pining after Chaewon and actually kept his mouth shut after that.
“Well..I’m happy you’re fine..”Junmyeon smiled, his hair perfectly laid.”Rest some more now..”
With that was Sehun left alone again and Chanyeol hurried out when he felt the daggers Madame Pomfrey's eyes threw after him.
-
You didn't dare come back for three days after Sehun had woken up, too embarrassed and filled with butterflies. But the Madame asked for your help so one morning, when the double doors closed, were you standing in the room and alone with the black haired slytherin again.
“Good morning.”Sehun had started to love the sounds of your voice, carving to hear the tones.
“Morning..”it became quiet again, you two just studying each other.” Why are you here?”
Maybe it sounded rude, he hoped it didn't, but he sure knew what he wished you would say.
“I’m helping Madame Pomfrey…and she shows me some…stuff.”
“Oh…”disappointing but not surprising, stupid of him to hope you came to see him.
Quiet again, so heavy that it felt like something pressed down on his chest. Sehun’s hair shone in morning light filtering through half opened white curtains. It looked soft when it had no gel in, like you wanted to pull your fingers through it. Some colour had returned to his face as well but the tone was still contracting to those were dark eyes. Green sure fit him but this not so perfect look made him less hard.
“How’s everything going? Are you well now?” you kept your distance, watching like you always did. He was pure blood and you were half, it would never be okay or even an option.
“I’m okay now, getting out tomorrow..”
“Oh…”you wanted to say more, wanted to ask about him..the real him, but nothing left your lips, nothing left his.”That’s great to hear…”
Sehun didn't have a chance to say something more, he could only watch as you slipped into Madame Pomfrey’s room.
-
Sehun watched you from afar, gaze following as he guessed you were picking out a book to read at your nook…One week had passed since he left the hospital wing and he felt like the two of you were catching each other's eyes more but you would look away, every time. And Baekhyun noticed, he noticed it too much.
“You know..ogling at her won't make her come talk to you…” Sehun glared at his house mate, hating the heat he felt covering his cheeks.
“You forced Chanyeol to come when you wanted to talk to Chaewon…about dragons too..”Kyungsoo didn't look up from his book when he spoke, missing the offended look Baekhyun had.
“Yeah…and you were pale because you were so stressed.”Chanyeol smiled but Sehun had noticed that his giant of a friend was looking for someone and that he had been a little off since he ran into that ravenclaw.
“Maybe I can get Chaewon to talk to her!..”Baekhyun’s voice was loud again, earning glares from a table filled with students.”...but I don't really know if they are friends…”
Sehun stopped listening because you were gone and it took most of his willpower to not go after you or at least where he thought you went.
-
Autumn had turned to winter and Sehun started to dread the holiday break, even if there were weeks left. He hadn't heard from his father since he fell and it probably meant he was mad. It clouded his mind and Chanyeol was worried for his friend, seeing him fall deeper and deeper in that dark void.
“Hey..are you staying over the holidays?” Sehun looked at the giant, scarf covering most of his lower face but letting his ears point out.”I was thinking about it anyway…”
Sehun sighed. He knew that Chanyeol really wanted to go home, see his family and the creature he called a dog.
“No…I’m going home…” but it wasn't home, not like Hogwarts.”I think you should too.”
Chanyeol smiled sadly, throwing his arm over his friend's shoulders.
“Well then, we better celebrate before everyone leaves!” yea, before everyone leaves…” Butterbeers on me!”
Sehun laughed lightly, nodding his head, black hair laid perfectly just like his uniform.  He would miss his friends but he couldn't keep them here, not when they already did so much for him. However, there was one more place he had to go to before leaving, one more person to see.
-
The bookshelves were the same, spines in all colours and with all titles. Sehun walked quietly, following his usual path towards the window. But you weren't there, no he was just staring out the glass at a grey world which would probably soon be covered in white snow. The whomping willow bare and almost lonely.
“Oh…uhm…”he turned fast as lightning, wide eyed and blushing. You stood there, book in hand and robes falling over your form.”Sorry…are using this…uhm place?”
Sehun just stared. There you were, busting him. Shit.
“No no…eh..”Sehun scratched his neck, wondering what he should say. You had already seen him and it would be weird if he just ran away.”You can…read here, if you want..”
But he didn't move, glancing up and down from your book to your eyes. You too felt like disappearing. No one had ever come close the million times you had been here and now was Oh Sehun standing there, looking dumbfounded.
“O..okay..?”Shit, he should really leave, like now but he didn't want to. The next time he could be in forever and anything could happen.
“Maybe we can…use it together?” Sehun grabbed a random book from the shelf, smiling slightly. It made his face completely different, soft and with arched brows instead of straight.
“Sure…but I didn't know you were interested in the frog choir…” Sehun looked down at the book he had taken, hearing you giggle softly under your breath. He blushed, putting it back before actually looking at the titles.
You kept laughing as quietly as you could, hopping up to sit by the window you always sat, back pressed against the wooden frame. It was actually spaceus up there and had a nice view of the outside, something which made you calm, for the most part. But now, now was a slytherin distracting you.
Sehun looked and looked, taking a book called “History of frogs and the magic world” and putting it back. It made you laugh again, the clueless look he had as he searched for something bearable to read. He didn't know that this was the “frog corner” and that you had chosen it because almost no one came back here.
“You won't find anything here…If you don't want to read about frogs…”your smile was wide as Sehun turned to look at you, this weird feeling floating through him. Most of the time, he was hiding behind one of the shelfs but was now right before you.
“Ah…Yeah not really..”
“Do..Do you want me to read for you?” you lifted the book in your hands, heat slowly creeping up your face.” I’m a couple pages in but maybe that’s okay?”
Sehun nodded, swallowing a little too hard. It was everything he had dreamed of for a long time but it felt..not scary but not okay either. Like this could break a fragile picture of something he cherished.
He hopped onto the window sill, leaning against the cool glass as you started to read. It was pleasant to listen to, made his heart beat calmly. Your voice was really like the turning of pages, soft and full in a sense that only emotions made vowles.
With closed eyes, he let the whole world be only you and your voice. There was nothing more, no problem and no need. Only you and him. Everything made you hope a little, glancing at the slytherin boy with polished hair and no part of his uniform tilted. Maybe one day, you’ll read for him but those words will be your own and said to him as a promise of forever…hopefully he’ll have his own too.
“Shhhhh…”Baekhyun waved his hand up and down, a camera pointing towards a window. He was leaning as much as he could around the bookshelf, holding his tongue between his teeth.
You and Sehun were blissfully unaware of the jokester, who was Sehun’s housemate. But he was too unaware of the gryffindor taking his own picture. Those two pictures would later become your favorite when your Hogwarts years were done. Sehun would blush but secretly feel the same

The soft wind moved the curtain in front of you, delicately brushing your arm in a tender caress. Without taking your eyes off your notes, you moved your arm and slapped the fabric away as you tried not to lose track of what you were studying. Only one more exam and you would be free, that’s what you repeated in your mind to keep yourself motivated.
Suddenly, the curtain hit you in the face, blinding you for a moment, all the previous tenderness of its movements gone. With a sigh, you pushed it aside and stared at the window to check if it was open. But no, it was still closed, just like you had left it before starting with your study session.
Then, you turned around in your chair and faced your boyfriend Sehun. He was lying on your bed, smiling at you. Clearly, he was having a great time as he messed with your patience.
“Stop it, Sehun. You’re not letting me study,” you complained.
He put a hand over his chest and feigned surprise. “Me?” he asked innocently, although he seemed to be fighting a smile back. “I’m not letting you study?”
You nodded.
It was him who had been moving the curtain all along, thanks to his wind controlling powers, whatever they were. You still didn’t fully understand the nature of his powers or his own existence, he came from another planet. So, technically, Sehun wasn’t human, and he wasn’t the only one.
You didn’t care about him being an alien, as you liked to call it. What worried you was the fact that he and the others were the good guys, at least in theory, but there were also bad ones. Sehun refused to talk about them and you tried not to think about it most of the time. More than once he had promised you that he would keep you safe and you trusted him, you knew that he could be really powerful.
It was a pity that right now he was using his power to piss you off.
“Sehun, I need to pass this exam.”
“And? What am I supposed to be doing?”
His faked innocence was starting to be replaced by a mischievous smile. It made you roll your eyes. Without any more words, you turned back to the desk and focused again on your notes.
“You know exactly what you’re doing,” you murmured after a while. “Just leave me alone for a couple hours, I’m not asking for anything more than that,” you said, resting your face on one hand.
He seemed to accept it, little did you know that he wasn’t going to stop that easily.
-
You had lost count of how many deep breaths you had been taking in order to stay calm. It was impossible to tell by now. You were quite proud of yourself though, considering that you hadn’t stabbed him with a pencil yet, with the constant wind ruffling your hair, blowing it into your face and moving your notes around, of course not allowing you to study.
With a deep sigh, you took the elastic band that you always wore on your wrist and tied your hair up in a messy bun. It didn’t solve the problem because then, the wind increased, causing your notes to fall all over the floor.
Sehun’s laugh could be heard behind you.
Since you were so fed up already, you grabbed the first pen that you could find and turned around fast, throwing it at Sehun’s head. The pen hit him in the face. Under normal circumstances, he would have been able to avoid it without any difficulty, he was an alien after all, but he was so distracted laughing at you that he didn’t move away in time. Well deserved, you thought.
He covered his face with his hands as he let out a soft cry. “Ouch,” he said, rolling onto his side.
After a few seconds, you got up and approached him. It wasn’t your intention to hurt him, you were just tired and frustrated.
“Sehun, let me see,” you murmured softly, sitting next to him on the bed. You placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to make him turn so you could see his face. “I didn’t mean to hit you hard but I have a really good aim, what can I do?” you joked.
He didn’t seem to find the joke funny. Instead, he made a sound that sounded like a hurt little puppy. This made you frown, what if you had hurt him for real?
"Sehun, take your hands away, let me see."
He removed his hands slowly but you couldn’t see anything because suddenly he moved so fast. Before you could realize, you were lying on the bed, with Sehun on top of you. A big smile was present on his face as his hands pressed your wrists against the mattress.
"You're an idiot, you know that? I was really worried."
Sehun laughed and brought his face closer to yours to kiss you but in the last moment you turned your face to the side, so his lips connected to your jaw instead of your mouth.
“What’s wrong?” He asked in a low voice, nuzzling your neck with the tip of his nose before starting to leave a trail of small kisses that made you shiver under him.
"Oh really? What’s wrong?" You asked back, mocking his words and raising an eyebrow as you looked at him. As much as you wanted him right now, you had other priorities. "Now is not the time. Let me finish studying and then we can do whatever we want, or continue this. Alright?”
He released your wrists but didn’t let you go, still laying on top of you, now resting his head on your chest where he could feel your heart beating fast. After a few minutes in which your breathing became one, you started stroking his hair. It felt very soft between your fingers and smelled like your favourite shampoo from the last time he showered at your place.
“You’ve been studying all day, I’m bored of waiting. You don’t let me talk, or make the slightest noise, or play video games, or listen to music…” he listed, mumbling.
You could feel the vibrations of his vocal chords against your chest, it was kind of calming.
“This exam is important to me, Sehun. Also, you can do all those things out of here, you don’t have to stay in the same room as me.”
He raised his head and looked at you with a frown. “But I want to be with you,” he confessed.
This time, when he leaned in searching for your mouth, you didn’t turn your face away. The kiss was long and slow, without rushing. When your lips parted, you took the opportunity to take Sehun’s face in your hands, stroking his cheekbones with your thumbs. He stared at you, mesmerised.
"An hour," you said. "That's all I need. Stop acting like a brat for an hour and when I'm done we'll do something together."
He seemed to hesitate, but finally he dropped to his side, freeing you from his weight. “Fine, an hour.”
You stood up from the bed, feeling cold without his warmth, and stared at the mess of notes scattered all over the floor with your hands on your hips. From the corner of your eye, you saw Sehun lying back on the bed with his hands behind his head and his legs crossed at the ankles. He looked as relaxed as always.
A gust of air made the papers move until they were arranged in a small pile at your feet. You bent down to pick them up and smiled at him. Sehun winked at you. He could be a pain in the ass sometimes but you couldn’t deny that since he came into your life nothing had been the same.
You loved him like no one else, and couldn’t help but dread the day he’d be gone. After all, he didn’t belong on this Earth.

The Slytherin to my Hufflepuff | Sehun
Pairing: Hufflepuff!Sehun × Slytherin! Reader Word count: 1.3K Summary: Sehun, which had been expected to be Slytherin for all intents and purposes, was sorted into Hufflepuff, while you, a Hufflepuff in blood and bones found yourself in Slytherin. Authors note: This is my first fic on here. I do feel that I have gone waay off from my original idea, but hey, if anyone ends up reading this, I hope you enjoy! :)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
It all began with a bam. You were walking down the corridors with Hannah. You were looking at the sky and quickly got distracted by a cloud in the shape of a mouse. You were looking so intently, and you were so distracted by your own thoughts, that you no longer registered to what the Hufflepuff beside you was saying.
You most definitely couldn’t tell that someone was walking directly towards you, someone, who had also been distracted.
In the blink of an eye, you found yourself struck and on the ground with a sore bum before you even registered what happened. As you looked up, your eyes met his. You quickly concluded that this face was the most pleasant one you had seen in Hogwarts. A face which the glow of the sun had made look heavenly. You looked down at his dishevelled black and yellow tie. A Hufflepuff!
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was…”
“sorry, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was…”
“going”
“going” you both said simultaneously.
You broke down laughing, and he gave you an amused grin.
Later that day you pestered Hannah on who the Hufflepuff was and demanded she share everything she knew about him. She looked at you in confusion “you don’t know Oh Sehun?” you shook your head no.
“Well,” she began “If you are a Hufflepuff in Slytherin robes, he’s a Slytherin in Hufflepuff clothes; I reckoned you would know him.”
Tumblr media
Following this incident, you've gotten closer to Sehun. You also learned more about him; like how he used a bird-conjuring charm on a Ravenclaw who was bothering his friend, or how he came from a family of Slytherins, and how his family had been greatly disappointed that he ended up in Hufflepuff.
You also had a lot in common; you were both sorted into the ‘wrong house’, you both spent more time with students from other houses than those of your own and even though you were both fairly well known in Hogwarts, you somehow never heard of one another before you literally bumped into each other in the corridors. What was truly frightening was how nearly all of your friends were his friends too.
Moreover, you had constantly spent time in the Hufflepuff common room, even though it was technically not allowed. Despite this, somehow, miraculously, you had never — not once — come across him.
This didn’t mean that you never, unknowingly, crossed paths. Soon after you started frequenting the Hufflepuff common room, some of the occupants were not happy to have you there, and they were not shy to share their thoughts with you.
Seeing as you thought it inappropriate to complain to your Hufflepuff friends, you recounted all that happened to your Gryffindor friend. It didn’t take long for these incidents to cease. Flooded with schoolwork and exams, you never had time to think much of it.
You now learned that Chanyeol had gone to Sehun to speak of the matter. Sehun then took measures to keep his own housemates in check. All this while he too had never seen a hair on your head.
It only took a short time before you felt as if you'd known Sehun your entire life. You'd spend as much of your day stuck to each other as possible, and you would never run out of things to talk about.
Presently you were both sprawled beside each other on the grounds just outside of Hogwarts. As per usual, curiosity made its way through your system, and you could only keep it in for a few brief moments before you spoke up “Sehun, you have brewed Amortentia before, haven't you?”
“I would like to think that by now I have, yes” you rolled your eyes at him, even though he couldn’t see it.
“So, how was it? what did you smell?” he turned his head towards you “I smelled the fear from my enemies” this sent you into a laughing fit, and he too couldn’t help but laugh.
You slapped him on his chest “oh come on dummy, I’m being serious, what did you smell?” “not telling” he said in a teasing tone.
You moved closer and you turned to whisper in his ear “come on, tell me, what did you smell”.
He tried his best to shield his ear “Jeez, are you always this touchy with your friends? why don’t you find someone else to annoy” “No” you answered.
“No what? you are not touchy with your friends, or, you can't find some to annoy?”
“both” you turned to look at him again “don’t think I’m dropping this, now tell me what did you smell?”. He continued lying there, still. You weren’t sure if his reaction was because of your question, or because of your answer.
You impatiently got up on your elbow, and fisted your left hand, as if preparing to punch him “are going to tell me, or do you plan on getting beat?” he put his hands up in surrender “alright, alright! why do you Slytherins always revert to violence”.
As you laid back on the grass, he hummed in thought, stole a glance at you then focused his eyes back on the sky before finally saying “it was lavender… freshly cleaned laundry, and…” he looked at you again ”and Pelargonium”.
You propped yourself back up on your elbow and looked at him intently “no way, are you serious?” he seemed waver at the question, but answered with a hum and a nod of the head.
Your smile just grew bigger and bigger “guess what I smelled?” you didn’t even give him a chance to answer before continuing. “lavender” you saw his eyes instantly grow in shock “freshly cleaned sheets” he looked at you in disbelief before retorting “well, I do hope you aren’t the biggest narcissist in the world, and have Pelargonium as your third scent”.
He had accidentally given himself away, and this was all the reassurance you needed. You gave him a quick peck on the cheek, earning you a pair of reddening cheeks. “Of course I didn’t smell Pelargonium. My third scent was apple”.
He stared at you, eyes glued to yours. You couldn’t decipher the look he gave you, so you attempted to further elaborate “you also smell of apple if you didn’t realis-”.
Before you could finish the sentence he grabbed your face, pulling you down for a kiss. You could feel each other smile through the kiss and felt yourself engulphed by the smell of apples, drowning you under a blanket of comfort.
As you pulled away, your eyes found each other, and you were lost in his. He was the first to break the silence “if there is any doubt in your mind, you smell like Pelargonium” you couldn't wipe the smile off your face “I know”.
You then threw yourself on top of him, hearing him whimper in surprise. His arms snaked around you, making you feel giddy. As he caressed your back you heard him speak “I guess the fact that we smelled nearly the exact same thing proves that we were meant to be together” “oh, so we’re together now?” “haven't we always been?”.
You sighed in relief “good, now I don't have to be the only one without a boyfriend”
As you cuddled each other, you couldn’t help but think about the sorting hat, and how ironic it was that you were both sorted into what you thought was each others house. “Sehun” he hummed for you to continue. “do you think the sorting hat was playing matchmaker with us?”.
You could feel him grin from under you “I’m telling you, we were meant to be, it’s just that the sorting hat realised it earlier than we ever did”

“Alright, let’s go over the plan.”
Everyone was gathered around the table, including yourself and Hyungwon. A plan of attack had been formulated, but it was important to go over the details before the big day.
“Security will be shut down for twenty minutes for routine maintenance.” Suho stated. “And we need to take advantage of that time. Once the shutdown happens we’ll make our way inside. Chen will go to the security office with DO where they’ll make sure everything stays off, and they’ll remain there as our eyes and ears.”
“For safety reasons Shownu and Kihyun will stay with us while the rest of you continue with the mission.” Chen added. “With the security center in our hands the next step is to evacuate everyone.”
“Problem is, we can’t just set off the alarms.” Chankyun reminded. “Since scheduled maintenance is going on, no alert system would be taken seriously, so we need an external force. That’s where Lay, Chanyeol, and Sehun come in.”
“Jooheon and I will accompany the three to the ventilation system.” Minhyuk continued. “From there Chen can provide power as we release fumes into the facility.”
“It’s harmless.” Lay assured. “But it will definitely force people to leave. The only issue there is that we’ll draw attention to our location.”
“Which is why we need to time this precisely.” Chanyeol said. “We have about twenty minutes to set everything up before taking action and facing resistance.”
“All the plants in the lab would still recognize Lay.” Jooheon mentioned. “So we also have that advantage.”
“That’s good, as we need all the advantages we can get.” Xiumin commented. “As for the rest of us, once the other two phases are set we’ll be going to the lab area and freeing all those that have been held captive. Of course all of this relies on Kai being able to go back and forth with multiple people at a time. Will you be alright?”
“It’ll be draining, but I can manage.” Kai stated. “I have a rendezvous point for everyone while we proceed with the rescue and then our escape. The only thing will be planting the bombs.”
“While I’m in the security office with Chen I can figure out where the structural weak points are.” DO explained. “It should be easier to set them up and destroy the whole place. Just don’t forget we need to destroy the servers as well.”
“I got that covered.” Baekhyun confirmed. “There won’t be anything to recover once I’m done.”
“Then what are we doing about y/n?” Sehun asked. “Are we really going to leave her here?”
“I’m fine.” You assured. “I can wait around for you guys.”
“Why not put her in the garden?”
“No.” Suho spoke. “We don’t need to do that. Although Hyungwon isn’t coming with us.”
“Can I ask why?” Hyungwon questioned. “I understand, but doesn’t that work against you?”
“You can be on comms. The lab is basically your home turf, and I don’t want complications.”
“Wait, so we’re gonna leave y/n alone with him?” Minhyuk wondered. “I’m not sure that’s a good idea either…”
“I’ll stay back too.” Wonho volunteered. “I’ll keep an eye on both of them. Too many of us can also complicate things.”
“That should work.” Suho agreed. “Although I do want to remind everyone, despite having deep ties here, all we can do is take down RF. From there it is up to the people of this Earth to move forward and do better.”
“We know.” Shownu stated. “Getting rid of RF is a good first step.”
As much as you wanted to voice your own concerns, you knew it best not to worry them. This whole thing was important to them, and for the time being you were going to sit on the sidelines and support them. Besides, there was still much you needed to come to terms with about yourself and your future.
“Y/n, how are you feeling?”
After the meeting everyone was told to prepare and get rest. While you were sitting out in the garden Kai came over, sitting down at your side.
“I’m alright… I think… but I’m honestly not sure…”
“I’m really sorry all this… happened the way it did… we should have been better…”
“I know you’re always trying to do your best… although I have to admit… I kinda want to stay here… this is my home planet after all…”
“It is… I’m sorry we didn’t tell you the truth sooner…”
“This place holds a lot of memories for both of us, I just don’t remember.” You chuckled. “Telling me would also mean talking about what happened here with RF, and it’s something you weren’t ready to face until now.”
“We really don’t deserve you.”
“Probably not… I have to ask though… why didn’t you use me to come back to this Earth? I’m from here. Instead we found some space pirates with a magic hourglass.”
“The story with them is complicated, but, despite this Earth being your homeworld, you’ve changed on many levels. The frequency I get from you is no longer the same as this world. There are similarities still, but it’s not accurate anymore.”
“Huh… what about you though?”
“Hm?”
“Is your frequency… could it take you home?”
“I’m honestly not sure.”
“Do you have a means of getting home? If you wanted to, that is.”
“Yeah. There’s always a way back home.” Kai gave you a smile. “You should get some sleep.”
“You too.”
Good night then.”
“Good night.”
♥♥♥♥♥
Come morning you could feel the tension in the air. It was pretty quiet except for talk of the task at hand. You couldn’t do anything besides wish them well and see them off as they embarked on this mission. The house once filled with life became quite empty as only three of you remained. Everything was set up in order to keep in contact with those who went out, which served to ease your worries, but now all you could do was hope everything went to plan. You remained in contact as the preparations were done, but once they made the move to enter the building it went silent. It was rather obvious you were worried.
“They’re gonna be fine, y/n.” Hyungwon assured. “Everything is in their favor.”
“I hope so…” You took a breath. “Can I ask… what were your lives like with EXO?”
“Interesting. They came to our world as visitors, tourists really, but this place wasn’t exactly doing well. It was hard not to interfere, especially back then. We crossed paths by chance, and they helped us. After they learned about what was happening, that’s when they began to show us their powers and what they could do to help. We all became like brothers, and were so focused on our own battles we didn’t realize RF growing in power. Not until we were ambushed.”
“Where was I… in all of this?”
“You were out on the front lines.” Wonho mentioned. “Helping those in need. We wanted to go out searching for you, but we never got the chance. We only kept in touch via messages, but then we went silent.”
“Because you got captured.”
“Yeah. It was chaos. We tried to fight them off, but it was no use. For the sake of not losing everything, Lay ended up putting Baekhyun in the garden and set up defenses around the house.”
“That didn’t last…”
“No, it did not.” Hyungwon said. “What they were doing to EXO was severe, and on top of that they were trying to get Baekhyun.”
“Which you did for them.” Wonho spat.
“I had to.”
“That’s a fucken lie.”
“Wonho, please, let him explain.” You said. “You’ve hated him for so long, but you don’t know what really happened.”
“We were all experimented on. Hyungwon was no exception, but he still turned against us.”
“I didn’t want to, but it was the only way.”
“You-”
“Who’s Tao?” You suddenly asked. “He was mentioned before…”
“… EXO used to be twelve.” Hyungwon spoke. “Some of us were closer to certain members, like Jooheon and Lay, as for me, I was close to Tao. He was worried about the others, so he asked me for a favor. Things would only get worse without Baekhyun, but it could also be a bargaining chip for the rest of us. They got us involved in these things without meaning to. The only reason me and my brothers managed to escape that night was because I told RF I’d be back with what they wanted most. It wasn’t easy to face any of them after that.”
“Then why did you do it?” Wonho questioned. “No one asked you to do this for us.”
“Tao asked me. You know he could see the future, he saw the outcome to all of this if things were left the way they were. He knew how it could get better, and that involved sacrifice, including himself.”
“What happened to him?” You wondered. “And the others? You said there were twelve.”
“The experiments RF were running… they went too far… Sehun wouldn’t have been here if not for Tao.”
“I wish I got to meet them.”
“They would have loved you, Tao was always happy to know his brothers wouldn’t be completely alone afterwards.”
♥♥♥♥♥
Suho and Shownu were at the front, keeping an eye on the building from a safe distance. They knew that when security went down certain lights would shut off, and that was their chance to move in. Hyungwon had provided recent images of their target locations, so Kai could easily get them inside. Once they got their cue they all sprung into action. Kai took the first team into the security room, taking out the guards and removing them from the building. Chen acquainted himself with the security system, making sure to keep things down.
When Kai returned to the starting point he took the second team to the ventilation area. Once again they took care of the guards around and began to set up their plan. Lay began to grow flowers around the area, knowing Chanyeol was going to have to set them ablaze to get the proper fumes. Minhyuk and Jooheon were focused on figuring out the ventilation system. Everyone was counting down the minutes, knowing the alarms were about to go off, and the evacuation would begin. It wasn’t until their twenty minutes were up that they used their comms to communicate with one another.
Right on cue Chen set off the alarms and made sure all vents were open. Chanyeol began a controlled fire and Sehun made sure the fumes went into the vents and spread throughout them. Moments later Chen confirmed that an evacuation was underway, but guards were heading to the ventilation area and security office. That prepared everyone for a fight without interrupting the overall objective. When the lab had been mostly evacuated he informed Suho that they were good to start the next phase. Kai brought everyone inside, taking advantage of their sudden appearance to take out those that had remained.
Hyungwon had informed them where the keys were and how to free the others that were being held prisoner. Of course they weren’t exactly eager to accept help from strangers, but they all showed them the best of intentions about getting them out and away from this place. Once the evacuation was complete everyone began setting the bombs, taking directions from DO as he told them where to place them. While in the lab Baekhyun had been frying all the servers and anything else electronic, but he came across a locked door. He tried to fry the lock but his power didn’t work at all.
He asked Chen for help over the comms, but on his end the door didn’t exist. By then Baekhyun had gathered attention, having Kai bring Chen over and the others. Chen couldn’t open the door either with his own powers. From there they all knew this place was protected against them specifically. They couldn’t use their powers to open the door, but surely someone else would know. Suho called Hyungwon over the comms, mentioning the ominous door in the lab and the fact they couldn’t open it.
“Probably best to just leave it and focus on the explosives. That place will get destroyed with everything else.”
“That’s not what I was asking. What’s behind the door?”
“I don’t know.”
“I don’t believe you. Considering everything you did for RF and the years you’ve worked for them, I highly doubt you don’t know all their secrets.”
“… 007768… Suho, you won’t like what’s on the other side.”
“I’ll be the judge of that.”
The code was entered into the door and they all stepped through. At first it was dark and then the lights came on. At first it seemed just like any other part of the lab, but then three giant containment tubes were illuminated, revealing familiar faces.
“Tao…”
Sehun immediately ran over to his long lost brother, banging his fist against the glass as if that would change the past. Everyone else seemed stunned in disbelief.
“You knew about this… didn’t you?” Suho questioned into the comms. “Hyungwon answer me!”
“I’m sorry… you should have known that death wouldn’t stop RF from running their tests…”
“Why didn’t you mention this sooner?”
“How was I supposed to tell you this? Especially considering why you returned to this Earth? This was never a rescue mission.”
“Still.”
“I can go back.” Sehun mumbled. “I… I have his power… I can fix this…”
“Sehun, you can’t.” Chanyeol came over and pulled him back. “You know time works differently in every world, and you don’t know how to control time.”
“I can try!”
“Sehun, please.”
“We can’t leave them… not again…”
“We won’t.” Lay assured. “They’re coming home with us, where they belong.”
“The rest of you go set the last of the bombs.” Suho ordered. “Lay, Xiumin, Kai, and I will get them home.”
The atmosphere had certainly changed, but they still had to complete their mission. It would take a lot more power for Kai to teleport home from such a far away place, but he could do it for his brothers. Once all the bombs were set the others were evacuated as well. Wonho could finish up the detonation as the others had somewhere else to be. After leaving the group found themselves in a garden. It was only familiar to a few, but they all understood where they were. The bodies had been laid down and the garden itself was taking them under. Lay had three new trees grow from the ground.
“They’re home.”
“We should bring y/n to see them.” Baekhyun said. “She never had a chance to meet them before. They would have loved her.”
♥♥♥♥♥
When you heard about the bodies your heart sank. You may not have known them, but you could still feel pain.
“They never knew… that their brothers… why would RF do that?”
“To continue the experiments.” Hyungwon mentioned. “Because they still had the bodies they were able to give you some of your powers.”
“Powers? I don’t have powers. The boys each gave me a gift to look after me, but I can’t do anything with them, not really.”
“Ah… my mistake…”
You weren’t entirely sure you understood what Hyungwon had been saying. As you were thinking it over you hear some noise coming from the other side of the house. The others heard it too, but you told them you’d investigate as they still needed to detonate the bombs. You only took a few steps before an explosion threw you back. Your vision was blurry, and your ears were ringing. When you tried to move you felt the aches all over your body. You tried to look over at the others, but among the chaos you heard a gentle whisper from an unfamiliar voice.
“Hello, Angel…”
♥♥♥♥♥
The others returned to the woods surrounding their base, making their way back. Although they all quickly started to run when they saw smoke. They came upon the house up in flames, Chanyeol quick to extinguish it and everyone rushing inside to look for the others. Beneath the rubble they located Hyungwon and Wonho, but you were nowhere to be found.
“What happened!?”
“I don’t know.” Hyungwon admitted. “There was some noise, and then an explosion.”
“Where’s y/n?”
“What?”
“She’s gone!” Kai yelled. “I can’t sense her here at all.”
“How could anyone get close to the house?” Minhyuk questioned. “The defenses were up. The only way to avoid them is to be someone the plants are familiar with.”
With that said all eyes turned to Hyungwon. It took him a second to realize what everyone was silently accusing him of, but he was quick to deny it.
“I didn’t kidnap her… I’m still here, wouldn’t I have run away with her if I did? If you don’t believe me, give me a truth serum.”
“You-”
“Someone’s coming.”
Despite the commotion the defenses were still up and Lay was informed of an uninvited guest approaching. He was ready to strike, but something was telling him to hold back. A few others went with him out to the front, seeing a figure emerge from the surrounding woods.
“I come in peace.”
“Who are you?”
“A friend. I’ve been watching you all for quite some time now, and I’m quite impressed. It wasn’t an easy decision to face RF. Although this place is only the tip of the iceberg.”
“You haven’t answered me yet.” Suho hissed. “Who are you!?”
“I’m just like you. A victim of RF’s little experiments. Before those bitches got their hands on you, I was their plaything.” The stranger took a bow. “The name’s Taemin.”
“You said you’ve been watching us.” Xiumin remarked. “Do you know who took y/n?”
“Your girl? Yes, I saw who took her, and it’s quite perplexing.”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“The ones that took her, well, it was you.”

So to catch him by surprise, s/o decided to record his reaction when opening the box she set aside.
And oh my God he has no idea what's going on
Would look confused at the test inside the box and spend a good 5 minutes trying to decipher
Like it's the hardest thing in the world
Would argue because he thinks it’s a cov!d test and has to fly to a fashion show that same week🤣🤣
And she would look so discredited and confused at him like “Sehun, I’m freaking pregnant”
And he would be like “from who?”
“What you mean from who? YOU, dummy.”
“oh...OH. OH!!!” sehun pikachu shocked face
But don't get it wrong, even if he doesn't react or doesn't know what to say, he'll be happy. Extremely.
So his s/o should expect him being protective 24/07 since day one!!!
He would also accompany her on all appointments
Would be completely confused on ultrasound because he cannot see the baby as the doctor is describing
But the moment he listens to the small and strong heart, it would be hard to hide the tears.
And when the doc said that it’s a boy, he would giggle proudly and happily
Would probably go back to the house kissing his s/o's hand 🥺
And while she is too busy with the million things she needs to do with the baby, Sehun is planning to propose in secret
Like he got caught by surprise then he will do the same with her
But it wouldn't be any surprise
He would buy a house, decorate it all, including the baby's room, and take his s/o blindfolded
With the excuse that it would just be dinner
And when he took the blindfold off her BAAM “this is our home, you wanna marry me?”
And she would cry, thrilled of course because she hadn't expected it, but deeply touched that the house was exactly what they had both planned.
She would be like “you can't do this to me, I'm pregnant, I might pee myself”
And he would just look at her with a smile of pure pride because he got what he wanted
And of course she would say yes, half crying half smiling
I feel like Sehun would feel everything that his s/o feels too
Like motion sickness? He woke up feeling that.
An uncontrolled hunger? He would eat with her without even realizing it
Oh and he couldn't watch her throw up without feeling the urge to do the same
The bond they have, plus living together, would be much stronger.
Spending nights lying in bed while he caresses her belly and vivi is lying between them 😭
Kisses her forehead. Every. Single. Day.
Always to remember how much he loves her because he realizes how emotional she is these last few days
The first kick, she would stop in the middle of the house with her hand on her belly and a shocked face, Sehun had just arrived home when he saw the scene and of course he was already desperate
“The baby is coming already?” he would ask, already thinking about the maternity bag that they hadn't even organized.
“No, he just kicked me”
He would look with such a wonder and drop everything he had in his hands to place on her belly, to feel it too
“I want a kick too” and would probably scream when felt something
After that he would keep his hand on her belly at all times and say that the baby is kicking more with him
“That’s just me laughing, Sehun”
“You lying”
Do you remember when I said that he’s super protective?
Yeah well, his s/o should expect him making a judging face to anyone that wants to touch her belly
“Can they stop touching you? The baby just kick with me, they don’t have to try it”
And even if his face was serious, his pout would be so cute that she would just laugh
They say boys are always born earlier than expected
So the day before they had scheduled the labor, they would be in bed ready to sleep and talking about how their lives had changed
And sharing the insecurities, he assured her that he knew she would make a great mother even if inside he was scared too
Then they would both feel the bed get wet
“Honey, if you wanted to go to the bathroom I could have helped, you know” he was going to joke but when he saw that she didn't laugh, as she used to do, he was worried
“I think my water broke”
Man not even the flash would have gotten out of bed as fast as Sehun
He would take anything he thought was important to take to the hospital with them while he looked for his car keys and she would just look at him with a "why are you so desperate?" face
“If we are not fast, he will be born in the car. I've seen it in a movie.”
“It's still going to be hours before he arrives and put that dryer down, Sehun”
I can see him calling everyone that the baby came early as he drives to the hospital
Like “Hyung, the baby is coming WHERE ARE YOU?”
His expensive cars make a lot more sense now and it was the perfect excuse for him to race
He would try to tell her to calm down but in fact he would be trying to calm himself
Wouldn't leave her side for fear the baby would come too fast and tell her to grip his hand if she was in pain
Would regret saying that because her grip was too tight
He would have been much more worried when the doctor said they would have to do a cesarean as the baby wasn’t in the right position
And would probably pass out when saw the baby coming out
He would justify after it was from emotion
But the moment he woke up in the hospital and went to see her in the room, holding the baby, he would cry
More kisses in the forehead of both of them
Would be desperate to hold his son but scared because he doesn't know how to do it
But the baby would fit perfectly in his arms 🥺
When the members arrived, he would be learning to bathe the baby and would have a proud smile on his face.
Until his s/o said he passed out and they started making fun of him 🤣
But he wouldn't even care because he had everything at that moment, his family
The return home would be quick and without many complications, the baby was healthy
I think sehun is the kind of dad who will put his son to sleep and end up sleeping together, like, he would put the baby on his chest and they would both be drooling when his s/o shows up
But it’s kinda cute
Changing diapers wouldn't be his favorite chore, I can see him cover his nose with something so he can't smell it 🤣
But he would be a fun father
The type who plays with the baby in the bathtub more than bathing the child, who dances for the baby to give a toothless smile, who holds the baby on top of the vivi to pretend it's a little horse
He is the father of small details, each evolution and new discovery with s/o and the baby transforms him and makes him much happier, fulfilled
Dress the baby up as if it were him and they are the cutest father and son in all of korea 😭
The son would be so close and so connected that his first word would be daddy, and s/o wouldn't be upset because she sees the effort he makes to be a good father
And even though he's a playful dad, he's a great dad🥺

Things are quiet.
The story is still at the center of the news and online discussions. People have dissected every detail of Lee Chungjae's life to the point that he took down all his posts. In every sense of the word, he's the country's most hated man.
And candidate Lee's reassuring smile when reporters bring up the subject has started to crack.
But nothing else happens.
She's on edge. Let the storm hit already, for fuck's sake.
Yixing finds her restlessness hilarious and texts her a screenshot of the weather app this morning. 90% chance of rain for the next three days.
It looks like Kuraokami answered your prayers.
In the midst of it all, he's been refusing to blend to the background of her mind, exploiting the fact that she's weak when it comes to a good meal. Most days he shows up to her door with takeout, and just yesterday he came with ingredients and made her eat her words about carbonara being the most overrated approach to noodle based recipes.
He’d laugh at her if he could see her now, standing outside the chronicle's building, struggling to get her buzzing phone from the inside of her bag.
A part of her hopes it's the blocked number from before.
But there's a name on the screen, and it puts a frown on her face.
“What do you want.”
A chuckle spills through the line. “Resentment is a terrible thing, you know? It does the heart no good.”
“How would you know? You don't have one."
“I heard you paid someone a visit last night. I wanted to hear it from you.”
She scoffs up at the sky through her see-through umbrella.
"You want me to say I’m... what? Shaking in my boots? So you can rub one out to the sound of it?”
“Language, sunshine. Let’s keep things civil.”
“I tried to be civil, didn’t I? I even gave you a heads-up for old times’ sake, but then you decided to make things personal. So now I’m thinking that next time, I'll just let it blow in your face, make it surprise.”
“Ah, there we go again with that. Why do you insist on calling it personal?”
“Why don’t you suck my dick, Namjoon?”
She hates that she can hear his poisonous smile, over so confident and collected.
“You walked into that room yourself. How is it fair to blame me for the consequences of your actions?”
He enjoyed it, he’s enjoying it even now, she knows. He denied any involvement in her encounter with a certain pair of recently debuted syndicate members, but hist hands were all over that stunt.
A blow like that, the same night she showed up to let him know she had info on his candidate’s son, and he expects her to believe destiny is just funny like that.
No fucking way.
Things may or may not have escalated to shattered wine glass and a deep burgundy stain on Jin's favorite artwork hanging on the wall.
“Can you get to the point? Some of us can’t afford to spend the day scheming, I have things to do.” she says, impatience seeping into her tone.
It's starting to rain, so her hair will start looking crazy in about three minutes.
“I was hoping you were bluffing.”
She laughs in a way that makes an older woman give her a nasty look.
“My hopes weren’t for us.”
Ah.
There it is. As grim as it is, it’s like a weight taken off her chest.
Her surroundings come back into focus. The narrow street. The stream of people walking past her, trying to get out of the rain as soon as possible. A girl brushing her shoulder, recording herself speaking in a foreign language. A taxi driver fighting with a delivery guy. A German shepherd with a yellow raincoat and little rubber boots, its nose against the side of a phone booth.
“I see.”
“Just now?” he has the gall to sigh, disappointed. “I thought you knew when you went to Yoongi looking for a 22. I guess you're not that good at seeing things beforehand anymore, not even when you start them.”
If she had to describe it, she’d say it’s a lot like a game of hide and seek with the kids from her street. Terrifying and exciting at the same time.
“Come to the hotel,” he suddenly says, much to her surprise “Stay here until things settle down.”
And if she had to sum Kim Namjoon up, this would be it. No one but him could give an invitation and a threat at the same time with such ease. Come, or else.
“No. I think I'll stay outside, see what comes out of it.”
Another deep sigh.
“I see. Have it your way, then. You have your fun, make sure to enjoy it.”
She hits the red button and finds that the cute dog with the rubber boots nowhere to be seen, as if it vanished off the street with its human.
At least 13 different people stop her before reaching Kim Kibum's office. Even though her name wasn't credited, her co-workers know what it means when she disappears for weeks, and the kind of stories she chases. The vultures in her department rolling their eyes at the sight of her kind of give it away.
“I thought I told you to work from home until further notice,” he says as she locks the door behind her.
“What? I deliver the story of probably the year, and you don’t want to see my face anymore?”
"Don’t. I’ve had a long day” he huffs, pulling the blinds down. His office looks less cluttered than she remembers. Has it been that long since she clocked in? “You know there’s a reason why I asked you to lay low for a while.”
She drops her body on one of the chairs in front of his desk and grabs a heavy, fancy pen.
“Did you see? Lee Chungjae is living his best life in France pretending to care about free education. He’s out there taking pics with Rihanna.”
Her boss leans over, snatches the pen from her hands, and points it at her like a sword.
“And? What do you expect? That they lock him up as soon as the story comes out? We do our thing, the rest is up to the world. We’re a newspaper, not the league of justice.”
Earlier today she told Haneul something similar, just to calm him down. Now she knows how he felt.
“It’s been a week already.”
“No, it’s barely been a week” he corrects her, moving a storage box under his desk and stretching his waist like he just can’t wait for retirement. “You know how this is, Jiah.”
Yeah, she knows. Shitty. Working your ass off, dealing with red tape and censorship, putting everything on a plate only for the world to move on, people not give a shit, and those who are supposed to do something turn a blind eye and fill their pockets.
“Why is your stuff inside a box?" Even the fake Basquiat is missing, so she knows it's serious. "Are you quitting?”
“I’m moving to a new office,” he says, pausing before adding "Jongsuk quit today.”
The news hits her like an ice bucket.
“He turned in his resignation letter earlier."
"Fuck." she breathes. "Oh. Fuck."
"Talk about freedom of the press, huh?” he laughs bitterly, tapping his temple, shaking his head, his eyes turning red.
In terms of bad news, this is the kind that makes you very aware of the last meal you had.
The Chronicle’s had the same chief editor for nearly twelve years. It’s one of the country’s most respected newspapers, and Jung Jongsuk was a big part of the reason why. The idea of someone with enough power moving the right strings to get the man, the myth, the fucking legend fired just as means of revenge sets a chill down her spine.
It’s a petty but very clear act of revenge. A shame, considering he was damn good at his job and how much he cared about his staff.
She sucks on her teeth “What’s he gonna do?”
“No idea. He showed up earlier today and left as soon as he gave a speech. They want me to step in immediately. Can you believe it?”
She's out of words. Half wanting to congratulate him despite the sad circumstances of his promotion, half wondering what that means for her. He suddenly squints.
“You look terrible. Finals?”
“Done, I’m a free woman”
She's can't stop thinking about Chief Editor Jongsuk, how he was always like the cool stepdad that didn’t have to be too nice or too mean to get your respect, how he gave her a chance when she was just a freshman.
“Shouldn’t you be getting some sleep or, I don’t know... drinking your face off with your friends?”
Her hand slips inside her backpack. “Well, if you'd answered my calls, I would be doing one of those.”
She puts a small, puny handgun on the desk, and slides it in his direction.
“Are you—” he locks the door before lowering his voice to a hiss “Have you lost your mind? How did you get through security?”
“You said we need to be careful and this is what being careful looks like, take it.” she says, sliding it closer to him. It barely brushes the side of his keyboard.
“Are you crazy? Do not— ” he opens a drawer and pushes it inside like it burns to the touch, slamming it shut and leaning his body away, pressing one hand to his forehead. “Jiah, this is illegal”
“I’m the best investigative journalist you have, flirting with the illegal here and there is one of the many reasons why.”
“This isn’t flirting with the illegal, for god's sake, this is raw dogging it, Jiah. This is an office. We’re a–”
“Im Haneul is about to get into witness protection, that’s why I’m giving you something to protect yourself with. Thank you, Jiah. You’re welcome, boss.”
He bites his lip, looking at the drawer with resentment before setting his eyes on her, dead serious.
“Is there something you’re not telling me? Did something happen?”
“It’s always better to be prepared. You know what they say about peace and quiet.”
“I don’t,” he deadpans “Is that some kind of gang lingo?”
She frowns. “Just what has Minho been telling you? I should pay him a little visit—”
“You’re not going anywhere near my staff.”
“Your staff? I’m your staff. He’s a sports reporter, you can walk into a bar anywhere in Itaewon and find a dozen replacements.”
He pinches the bridge of his nose, not denying it. “Did. Something. Happen.”
“I heard something. From a good source.”
“A good source.”
“Yeah, sometimes those are what we call confidential. So—” he fixes her with a look that makes her fear that his eyeballs will pop out of their sockets. “Fine, it was Kim Namjoon.”
He blinks at her. Throws his hands in the air and plops down on his seat.
“That's hilarious. If this doesn’t work for you, you can always pursue comedy. Now get the hell out of my office, I have to move my stuff to the other side of the floor.”
She stands up stretching her arms, giving him a once over and opening her mouth. He lifts a hand.
“I don't want to hear it. Go take a bath, get drunk, do drugs, get laid. You’re an undergrad student, not Chelsea Manning. Live a little.”
“Actually, I prefer Lisbeth Salander."
"Get out."

081222 - 06:55 pm
Something about the bleach fumes welcoming the moment she enters Lady’s Room is just– homely, and Wendy's threatening glare makes up for the stern mother figure she didn’t have growing up.
“Don’t even think about it, boots off.”
She toes off her muddy boots, struggling not to spill anything on the heavy takeout bags, making her way to the back.
“How come he gets to keep them on?”
Taemin looks insane with a black cape covering his body and his hair all foiled up, Seulgi's hovering over him with the cutest concentrated frown. He wiggles is feet at her.
“Clean shoes privilege. Plus, I'm way cuter than you.”
She snaps a picture of him for future use while he's distracted explaining how he read somewhere that hair takes bleach better when you're stress-free, and that the end of his last semester is just the perfect moment.
“And of course you believed that, because it makes total sense”
“No, it’s true,” Seulgi says. “It’s also better when you’re in a good mood. That’s why I don’t like to take people fresh out of a bad breakup, the chemicals get all messed up.”
“Oh, he doesn’t need to worry about that,” she says off-handedly.
Taemin doesn’t like her tone. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Wendy answers before she can, flipping through receipts on the reception area. “It means that you need a relationship to go through a breakup. That’s usually how it works”
“I'll have you know that I have secondhand PTSD from you guys. I’m like one ride home with an angry couple away from giving up on monogamy.”
“So, blue?”
“Silver.” He shows her a picture of a male idol with gray hair, wet styled. He's worried that if he goes too light it'll wash out his complexion.
She inspects his face in the floor to ceiling mirror “Nonsense, you’d look good in anything, buttercup.”
He smiles, always a slut for some validation. "You're coming to Sana’s party, right?”
She groans, plopping down on the chair next to him.
“Jiah, come on, it’s the last party of the semester. The last party before I graduate.”
She’s not swayed by his abuse of the last something before I graduate card. “I’m out of social battery, I'll kill the vibe.”
“We’ll pregame at my place and you’ll be good to go.”
“I can’t be bothered to go home and get changed.”
“Oh! You left the strappy shirt, you know? the one you didn’t know you were wearing backwards, and that leather skirt at my place, I threw them in the washing machine just for an occasion like this.”
“I’m seriously not feeling the vibe today.”
“Who cares, you attract people when you’re sulking.” he shrugs “Plus that’s the skirt you were wearing when you pulled that Romanian guy. We get free bottles every time you have your leg meat out.”
Seulgi slaps the side of his neck with her glove-covered hand. “Don’t pimp her out.”
“And this is why I suggested a ladies-only policy.”
“Interesting that you assume you fall in that category, but go on.” Taemin says, Jiah gasps in fabricated indignation. “And isn’t that reverse sexism?”
“It’s not like men are rushing to get in.”
Irene emerges from the office, walking past them with her all work and no fucking around face on, all her focus taken by her tablet.
“Oh, actually, we had a guy customer a few days ago and he was very happy with our services,” Seulgi says. Taemin and Jiah let out synchronized snorts.
Irene looks at them, going through the pile of papers Wendy handed her. “Grow up, you two."
Seulgi catches on, making a noise of disgust.
“So what did he want? A massage?”
Irene flips a page, scanning its contents. The warning is sharper this time. “Taemin.”
“He wanted a full-on transformation, so we went with silver,” Seulgi says, ignoring the quip, poking at his bleach covered hair with the pointy edge of her brush “It looked pretty good on him. It suited his personality.”
Taemin coos "Is that a crush I smell?"
Seulgi shrugs. "I'm just saying he fit the look, he was easy to talk to. Funny too. Asked a lot of questions about the salon, said a childhood friend of his co-owns one.”
"Huh, sounds boring to me." Taemin shrugs, not impressed. Seulgi and Jiah share a knowing look. He's platonically possessive to a fault, and being the only guy in their group only makes it worse.
Jiah smirks, spinning on the chair. "Sounds like your replacement to me."
He sticks his tongue at her “I was going to introduce you to someone tonight, traitor.”
Irene and Wendy sigh in relief, finally finding whatever it was they were looking for, high five-ing.
“I’m heartbroken.” She yawns. “I wasn’t planning on going anyway”
“You should go.“ Irene says, coming to stand behind her chair, playing with her hair. "You sure need it."
“What is it with people treating me like I’m some boring bitch lately?”
“Have you considered that you’ve been a boring bitch lately? We barely see you, you were supposed to help us look for a new place” Wendy complains, plopping on the other chair next to Taemin’s, spinning. "And you missed the anniversary party"
Nothing for her to do but take the shots. Seulgi steps in for her, an angel.
"Cut her some slack, she brought food. You know that’s sorry in her language."
"Alright, yeah.” Wendy agrees way too easily "And for the record, there's nothing wrong with being boring, Yeri can always use a boring figure in her life"
“I’m not going to a party to be on Yeri Sitting Duty.”
Taemin squints at her, walking to the washing station under Seulgi's orders, cape swooshing dramatically behind him. “But you’re coming, right?”
To be fair, she does feel bad about ghosting them for weeks.
“I swear to god, you better not ditch me for one of your Instagram famous friends."
He doesn't get a chance to reply, his calls for help fill the salon and Seulgi giggles like a sweet summer child discovering the joys of waterboarding. Irene's pleased to the point of pulling her phone out to record the scene, chortling.
Tumblr media
081222 - 11:25 pm
One would assume that the only child of the owner of a massive Japanese architecture firm, who also happens to own several clubs in the city, can afford to throw a party with decent alcohol.
Her annoyance should be directed at Taemin for talking her into coming and proceeding to do exactly what she asked him not to.
He’s nowhere to be seen, and Party Yeri is at her peak, hands thrown in the air, dancing between a bunch of freshman girls with their phones out, the red light beams bouncing off her glittery top.
“Not a dancer, or just not in the mood?” a voice interrupts.
She felt his presence before he approached her table. Some people are just hard to ignore, and with his simple silky shirt with a few buttons undone, pushed-back hair, and a flirty strand hanging on his forehead, he has a crowd of curious women and men alike following him with hungry eyes everywhere he goes.
“The second one.”
He smiles just like someone who's used to seeing others react to his looks.
Her first impression of him was jealousy for having better lips than her. She was too busy listening to Mina talk about her internship in Spain to pay too much attention to Taemin introducing the guy. Sitting at levels of handsomeness that don't require a personality, the man bored her without uttering a word.
But he's not hard to look at.
“So, how come we haven’t met before?”
“I don’t know, you tell me. Taemin says your presence is an exclusive experience." she sips her drink, he thinks it's funny. "Jiah, right?”
“And you’re Jongin, one of the dancing friends.”
A guy approaches Yeri’s group, disgustingly scanning each girl like he’s trying to figure out who has the lowest standards.
“Not a big fan of us?”
She considers her answer, watching the girls shrug him off before he can get too comfortable.
“I've learned to coexist with you people. It comes with the Taemin package.”
His little laugh is surprisingly childish for his masculine looks. The way he keeps looking at her face like he can't spare any bit of attention to their surroundings makes her feel like a bug under a microscope lens.
“Here's my theory, I think he might’ve been keeping you to himself for a bit there. But I’ve heard so many things about you that I kind of feel like I know you already."
Jiah doesn't know what to say to that, but holds his warm gaze and indulges in the view for a bit. Caramel skin, glowy under the strobe lights, painted red like a forbidden object of desire, or a character of a Japanese movie, waiting for his lover at a love hotel.
Handsome indeed. Nice jaw, soft nose, slightly arched eyebrows.
“Good things, I hope.”
“Interesting things.” He says with a crooked grin. She cocks an eyebrow, but he beats her to it. “So, journalism. What’s that like?”
She gives him the generic answer she keeps for occasions like this; lots of reading, being on the phone, doing more with less. No one is ever satisfied. Neither the readers nor the editors nor yourself.
Ok. So maybe she assumed a lot of things. He's surprisingly great company, really easy to talk to. He owns a dance studio and teaches from time to time. Some of his students have made it to entertainment companies, and he tries not to seem cocky, but it's clear he's extremely proud of them. He’s very nonchalant about covering various styles, though he’s more interested in R&B these days.
“Your day-to-day sounds like a lot of sitting behind a desk,” he comments. Being someone that works with his body, the idea must haunt him.
“Oh, god, no– I always feel like I’ll throw myself from the window if I spend too much time at the office. I’m on the investigation team, so I’m almost always out on the streets, harassing bureaucrats and stuff.”
“That sounds... fun.”
“Riveting,” she promises. “It’s not bad, really. You go through the boring stuff and then when you get a good story, you remember why you do it, and… it’s a good feeling.”
“You know, usually when someone mentions journalism I think of people with thinning hair and marriage issues.”
“Are you calling me old?”
“No. I was trying to say that you just took down a stereotype for me.” he pauses, pouting and looking up like he’s considering something “But you do give off an old soul vibe, sitting on your own, sulking like you’re here against your own will, ready to decimate anyone who dares come near you.”
She blinks at him, he’s holding back a smile, she can tell. Waiting for her reaction.
“Wow, so you’re just gonna call me a hag like that?”
He looks mildly surprised, worried, and amused all at the same time. “That’s not–”
“And if I look that scary, how come you’re here at my table?”
“Because you’re very attractive. It balances out the scary.”
She hums into her glass.
“And I’m very charming, I knew you’d be harmless.”
“Right.” He’s not entirely wrong. She’s always suspicious of extremely charming people, and the alarms are going off in her head.
“This is me hitting on you, off the record.” he continues, undeterred. She snorts. "And I say that because, as I’m sure you know, Taemin is possessive.”
She lifts and shakes a finger like an aunt at church when the pastor hits a mark. “Like a kid who doesn’t share his toys.”
Which reminds her, where’s that silver-haired menace?
“We’ll just have to ease him into it.”
“Uh-huh. This is flattering and all, I guess, but I’m married so–”
“Oh, that’s fine. I don’t get jealous” he shrugs, very serious about it. Which is unexpected, no one has ever reacted to the I'm married line like that. “I’m not gonna try to compete with your career.”
She's speechless, but in a good way, laughing at the audacity and shaking her head.
But then, just for a moment, he disappears.
There’s a quick, almost untraceable absence, even his smile falters.
Then he snaps back.
“Hey, you wanna get out for a bit? Get some fresh air? Looks like your friend’s gonna be busy for a while.”
Yeri was off her radar for a bit there, and now she’s got her arm threaded with the birthday girl herself. They’re moving away from the crowd, talking into each other's ears like they haven’t debriefed in months, probably headed to the bathroom.
Now that he mentions it, fresh air sounds nice.
“Promise I’m all out of lines,” he adds.
It’s humid out on the street, but less stuffy and noisy. She pulls out a brand new pack of cigarettes and they get fire from a girl hanging around with her friends next to a motorcycle. Her kohl-stained eyes scan Jongin greedily while he leans over, hands cupping the flame.
She suddenly turns to look at her, right when Jongin leans back and thanks her, and winks.
If Jongin notices, he’s unbothered, much more concerned with moving around her to stand on the side of the street, wordlessly making them switch spots. The gentleman move is soon eclipsed by a sudden coughing fit.
It's so bad she feels kind of horrible about finding it amusing. He really just fucked up his smooth streak after one drag.
She offers to grab him a drink, but he shakes his head, grabbing her arm before she walks away. He swallows hard one, two, or three times, wiping the corners of his eyes.
"You good?"
"No." he rasps. “These are the kind that my grandfather used to smoke.”
“You could’ve said no.” she counters, patting his back. They’re strong, she didn’t warn him because she showed him the package.
“I was a victim of peer pressure.” he jokes after clearing his throat. “I was doing well, wasn’t I?”
“It’s ok. Choking on smoke like a high schooler makes you human.” she offers him as consolation. The coughing fit messed up his hair. he looks younger now, less of a threat. Maybe it’s just the fresh air, the relief of getting out of the crowd, and the nicotine easing her up.
He asks if she smokes often, sounding like he doesn’t want to intrude, but a part of him will judge her if she says yes. Truthfully, she hasn’t in months, but it always hits a spot after a while, and people assume she’s too into it.
“Work's stressing you out?”
“That’s what work is supposed to do, isn’t it?”
He winces.
“Not to a level where you have to smoke like a war general.”
She grins at him sideways, the man who introduced her to this particular brand would have a few things to say about that sentence.
“I can deal with the stress, I only smoke when I get frustrated.”
“And does that happen often?”
“I don’t know? I guess. My boss says I’m too much of a control freak. He's a jerk, but sometimes it feels like he knows me better than I know myself.”
“Not great at teamwork, then?” he probes.
“No, I mean-- I’m not, but it’s not that.” she pauses. He’s waiting for her to elaborate. “I just wish I could do more sometimes, and not just document things from the sidelines. Does that make sense?”
“It absolutely does.” he assures. “I think I know what you mean.”
“I tried it, recently” she goes on, and she doesn’t know why she’s opening up to this guy. She’s not trying to turn him into her therapist, and she’s not even sure she wants to take him home at all. There’s too much going on in her mind at the moment, she wouldn’t be fully present anyway. It'd be a waste.
“And how did that go?”
“It was alright at the beginning. I've been helping someone– a friend who was gonna do something he'd regret. Actually, I'm not sure we're actually friends, but he's a great guy in a shitty situation.” she rambles, taking one last drag. “But then things went south in the worst way possible. It didn't even have anything to do with him, just personal baggage and terrible timing. I guess I had it coming.”
He nods, deep in thought, letting a comfortable silence fall between them, just watching people walk past, going in and out of the club. She presses the butt against the sole of her boots, and tosses it in the trash.
“If it’s any help, I’m sure your friend is grateful. You did well helping him.” he says, and she remembers Yixing saying something similar. “And whatever happened, I’m sure it’s not as bad as you think.”
She shrugs. “It is what it is, right? Onwards and upwards.”
He grins, pointing a finger at her. "That’s totally something my father would say.”
“So you ran out of lines and now you’re back to calling me old?”
“I only said that because I didn’t want to come off too strong, but if you insist.” He’s back on charming again, hands in the air like she’s just giving him no choice. The switch between kind to charming gives her whiplash.
A waste, really. A month ago she might’ve taken him home, let him make her coffee in the morning.
“I’m not insisting, I just asked you a question.”
He waves her off. “Bet you 5000 won I can kiss you without using my lips.”
It’s stupid. But he looks like the epitome of determination. Kohl girl behind him keeps looking at them over her shoulder, and without the meaningless rumble of the crowd to distract her, his voice turns out to be quite lovely.
So she tilts her chin at him, giving him the green light.
He takes two purposeful steps. She calls his bluff, refusing to back up against the wall. He gets close enough that he has to bend his head down to keep eye contact, and in a surprisingly smooth move, he places a short, harmless peck right on her lips.
Then he backs up with a single step and pulls out a bill from his pocket.
“A great investment if you ask me.” he says.
She laughs despite herself. Not in the coy, flirted up way, but a full, honest, belly laugh.
The silver-haired menace himself emerges from the shadows with a cowboy hat on his head, thumbs hooked on his jeans. He’s glaring, a scowl on his lipstick-stained lips, focusing on the way Jiah bends over, hand on her tummy and all.
“What are you doing with my best friend? I’m asking both of you, by the way.” he demands.
“Where did you get that?” she asks him, fully recovered, flicking the hat.
Taemin grabs the bill from Jongin’s hand before he can put it away. Jongin raises his eyebrows at him, anticipating complaints for his actions, daring him even.
“Not that I don’t respect the hustle, but I think you’re underselling yourself, sweetie." he says, turning to Jongin like a parental figure setting limits. "A peck from our Jiah is easily worth 10000 won. Pay up.”
“Deal,” Jongin shrugs, reaching for his back pocket again, pulling out several bills, winking at her. "How many can I get for--"
“Alright, we get it, she gets it,” Taemin interrupts, putting an arm around his shoulders, and rubbing his chest distractedly. “I thought you were on Yeri Sitting Duty tonight.”
Jiah licks her thumb and wipes the lipstick marks on his jaw, much to Jongin's endless amusement
“She’s a big girl. You got some on your teeth, you harlot."
"Finally. I keep telling you girls, you baby her too much" he complains, licking his front teeth. "Someday you'll have to set her free, let her make some mistakes of her own. They build character, you know?"
"How wise of you." Jongin says. "Was that the logic behind this new look?"
"Some mistakes don't." Taemin continues, looking at her with crazy eyes, pointing at Jongin. "Some mistakes make your best friend uncomfortable and are off limits."
Jiah and Jongin look at each other. "You introduced us."
"Yes, and? I never said get chummy and explore each other's bodies, did I?"
“Nice tattoo, by the way.” She tells Jongin. She caught a glimpse when he got closer and thought it looked familiar. Then Taemin unknowingly moved the fabric on his chest out of the way and she got confirmation. “It’s the helm of awe, isn't it?”
Jongin mouth falls open, genuine shock taking over his features. Not many people know about runes or recognize them. Taemin tilts his head to the side, eyeing her curiously, suspiciously.
“How do you know that? I thought it was a snowflake.”
“I knew a girl who had one on the back of her neck. Hers was red though. Looked great when she put her hair up.”
Taemin releases Jongin from his clutches with an unconvinced hmph, taking off his hat and putting it on her head. Jongin quietly fixes his shirt.
"Oh. Oh. I think I saw Minho inside. You wanna piss him off?"
Well, that’s great. That’s just great. Super cool.
Jongin takes a look at her face and blurts out the question. "Who's that?"
"Her ex. She broke his heart, he started rumors that she's with the Yakuza." Jongin blinks in surprise, and Taemin looks like he wants to elaborate further. She stops him.
“What’s that grown man doing here?”
“You know he likes to hang around the youngsters and make people guess his age. So, you in?”
“Leave me out of it.”
"Hear me out. I was thinking you and Jongin could walk around, right? Let him see you together, put on a little show. You know how his ears get red and his eyes bulge out when he's angry?” he's trying to contain his laugh, looking maniac. “I’ll buy you dinner, both of you. I’m serious.”
That’s her cue for a bathroom break. She puts the cowboy hat on Jongin’s head, not deterred by the way his eyes follow her on her way inside.
A sigh escapes her lips as the cold water runs over her hands. She smiles at a group of girls walking out of the door, their giggles reminding her of the task at hand—finding Yeri and making sure she's not too drunk to make semi-rational decisions.
Maybe she’ll try to talk her into ditching this place. Yixing's uncle's spot is not too far from here.
The possibility of running into her ex kind of makes her want to bolt. Not out of lingering feelings, she just doesn’t have the energy for that interaction. He has a way with sucking the like out of her.
There's only so much she can take of things beyond her control.
The bathroom door clicks. Something shifts in the air. The unsettling feeling of realizing she's not alone. She glances up at the mirror and catches a glimpse of him in the reflection.
Reacting on instinct, her hand snatches the decorative vase from the sink and hurls it at him. The man covers his face, not before grabbing her forearm and slamming her against the sink.
She puts her palms up to avoid hitting the mirror face first. It happens at once, suddenly he's grabbing her bag, and the next second the chain strap is pulling around her neck.
Her body bends back. His knee's pressed against her lower back. Either she’ll pass out or he’ll snap her in half.
She's not about to go down in a public bathroom. She pushes her shaky fingers under the chain, attempting to relieve some of the pressure.
Her vision' blurring, she's running out of oxygen and ideas. Tears well up. The muffled music starts fading.
There's a distant slam, a loud thump.
And thank fuck, release.
She catches her weight on the sink, gasps for air, almost crashes against the mirror again. She turns on wobbly legs and faces two bodies intertwined and struggling on the floor.
Her attacker’s dressed in all black, mask included, buzzcut, well built. The second man has his thighs wrapped around his head, snarling as he keeps him overpowered. A blue-grey silk shirt clings to his broad shoulders, thin black lines mark the skin on his chest.
The helm of awe.
He knocks the guy out with his thighs which... ok, impressive. With heaving breaths, his eyes land on her.
She runs. He grabs her arm before she can get through the door, and bends over when her knee finds his crotch.
Slamming the door behind her, she slaps her hands against the wall for support, still a bit dizzy, heart racing.
"Wait! Rina– please wait–"
Everything shuts down—her legs, the party, the whole city stops. She drops the plans of putting as much distance as possible between them, turns around and stomps in his direction.
Four letters, one word, a slap to the face.
“What did you just call me?” she demands, her face inches away from his. She doesn't recognize her own voice. He's pawing at his neck, pulling a chain for her to see, like that's gonna do something. "Who the fuck are you?"
"I know them. I know Yixing. You’re in danger, I’m here to help you." he sounds pained, trying to calm her down. She has no sympathy for him.
Hanging from the chain, a silver band morphs into two bony hands that hold a mint-colored ball. A ring, worn as a necklace. She recognizes it at once. She won that ring at some fair in Busan. Someone at school started a rumor that she joined the occult. Kyungsoo's mother thought she was a bad influence.
“We have to get you out of here. He has back up, they'll come soon."
Jiah exhales, relaxes her limbs. He mirrors the gesture, letting out a breath of relief.
Then she runs like her life depends on it. And it just might. She bumps into people, pushes them aside, desperately looking for an emergency exit she vaguely remembers from past situations that shouldn't be crossing her mind right now.
They come in handy, successfully leading her to the deserted alley.
But god, whatever version of it is out there, is just not letting her get away so easily.
The years have granted him an extra couple of inches, not that he ever needed them. Maybe it's just the thick soles of his boots that scrape against the loose gravel. He stops, mirroring her shock for a fleeting second.
She grabs the closest thing available; a rusty, long, and thin metal thing that's heavy enough to give her some confidence. He’s staring at her, no traces left of the awe she saw before.
He's pointing a gun at her face.
"Drop it" he barks "Hands up, turn around and try not to be so damn difficult. In that order."
Frustrated, she snarls at herself, her jaw tightening until it hurts before throwing the stick to the ground. She turns around, facing the mold-infested wall. The last thing she sees is a torn-off poster of an underground rap collective.
His forearm presses to the back of her neck with no mercy. He searches for a weapon she's not carrying.
"That's for being so fucking stupid. Do you realize what you got yourself into?" he snaps, not giving her a chance to answer before he pulls her back by the back of her shirt and pushes her against the wall again.
"Ow– What the fuck, dude?" the rough, disgusting surface of the wall scratches the side of her face. She kicks her feet against the ground. "I wasn’t even– what the fuck was that for?"
"That's for making my mom worry about you, idiot."
He finally lets her go, and she moves away from him, curses spilling from her mouth.
The exit door opens revealing Jongin—the impostor.
"What are you doing? We need to--"
They guards go up abruptly before her eyes. He raises his gun at her once again, this time with clear intent.
It'd be ugly, she imagines, being shot this up close. Her brains will end up on the floor, his clothes, maybe even his face. The Park Chanyeol she knew was an asshole most of the time, but he didn't have it in him to step on an ant or kill a spider even if his mother ordered him to, let alone shoot someone.
The inevitable fact is that they are strangers. She doesn't know who the time has turned him into, just like she’s no longer someone that he knows.
"Go ahead, big guy," she lifts her chin, rolls her shoulders. He’s looking at her like she's made of cellophane.
Someone takes the ground from under her. The ground is inevitable. Someone grabs her. Her shoulder feels wet, and her hands look for the source. When she looks down it, it’s stained red.
Did he just–
It can’t be. It doesn't hurt. It should hurt.
It all happens too quickly. There's a hissing sound. The impostor grips her tightly and says something.
Was her heartbeat always this loud? And did she really just get shot?
"Eyes open," The impostor orders. There's no escape with the world narrowed down to two walls. They’re closing in.
He keeps talking, telling her that it’s alright. Her heartbeat is drumming inside her head. It’s now supposed to do that, she shouldn’t feel this cold in August. A chill settles in her bones like she’s been running barefoot through deep snow in the woods, wearing nothing but a flimsy hospital gown.
Okay. Maybe she did get shot. And now they’re taking her away. But she can’t go down like this. Irene... the girls will wonder where she is, Yeri’s gonna burn the place down looking for her, Taemin’s too sensitive to deal with something like this, and Chanyeol–
He shot her.
And they keep calling her the wrong name.
"Rina, you have to...”
thump
“...be there...”
thump
“...right? C’mon...”
thump.
"Rina."
And then they kill the lights.

A Manor of Shadow and Blood
Tumblr media
Genre: Regency Gothic AU
Pairing: EXO x Reader
Summary: A stormy night brought you to the manor in the middle of the woods. Nine strange men occupied its halls. They won’t let you leave. A dangerous secret haunts this estate. Learning it might either be your saving grace or it could lead to the last breath you ever take.
Part: 1 I 2 I 3
**
The wind whistled against the windows like a hallowing scream. You tossed and turned, desperate to fall asleep. The first few nights had been somewhat peaceful, due to the fever having a complete hold over you. To fight it off, your body had kept you in a deep sleep, only broken by bouts of blurry consciousness.
But now… every noise made your eyelids snap open and your heart jump in pace. This unfamiliar place was full of shadows and secrets. Secrets that revolved around the men keeping you here.
Releasing a long sigh, you stared up at the canopy, the newly formed indentions in the knife floating in your mind. They weren’t there before, you were sure of that. You had used that knife to cut the chicken and it was in perfect condition. No human could bend the metal like that.
And then there was the speed at which Yixing caught your wrist.
You sat up with haste. Sleep was not going to come to you tonight. You groaned and rubbed your face with your fingers. The room slowly came into view as your eyes adjusted to the dim moonlight. You had opened the curtain before slipping into bed so you could watch the moon rise into the sky. Looking around the room, you searched for an answer on how to get yourself to sleep. There wasn’t much in this grand room. Simply a bed, a wardrobe, a dresser, the chair–
Wait.
Pushing the blanket off of your legs, you crawled across the mattress towards the chair. The shape didn’t seem right. Six legs instead of four. An extra shape in the outline.
“You should go to sleep.”
A high pitched scream ripped at your throat until a cold hand covered your mouth, cutting off the sound. Now fully bathed in the blue moonlight, you could make out the sharp features of Yixing’s face.
You shoved his arm away to free your lips. “What do you think you are doing in my room?” No gentleman would dare enter a lady’s room like this. Unless– gumption gone, you swallowed thickly. Was the reason you were trapped here finally coming to fruition?
The corner of Yixing’s mouth twitched upwards. He slinked forward like a cat cornering a mouse until his arms trapped you against the mattress, a hand on either side of your hip. Only your elbows kept you from being flat on your back, even more vulnerable.
“You’re a noisy sleeper,” he purred, his eyes flashing. “It's… distracting.”
You scoffed. None of their rooms were near yours. You were sure that all the ones around you were empty. He shouldn’t have been able to hear your tossing and turning. “Distracting?”
He hummed. His right hand lifted from the bed and reached out towards your face. You flinched at the motion, making him freeze.
But only for a moment.
The hovering fingers soon resumed their path. He didn’t make contact with your cheek, however. Instead, his fingers traced the outline of your collarbone. Down one slope and up the other. You trembled at the contact. His smirked only deepend. His fingers moved on to your shoulder, the too loose neckline of the nightgown nearly falling off.
You should slap him away, scream at him to leave, but you were too petrified to do so.
At least, you thought that was what stopped you. The coldness of his fingers moved up the curve of your neck, the tips pausing on the pulsing vein. His thumb caressed the edge of your jaw.
“Go to sleep.”
And like that, he disappeared into the night like smoke from a dying ember.
You didn’t hear or see the door open or close, but you knew you were alone now.
And you were furious.
How dare he come here! How dare he–
Your feet hit the floor, heavy and without a care of being heard. Sleep, in protest of that madman’s orders, would now be impossible. Anger and frustration at your situation fueled something new within you.
You weren’t sure what it was or what it would lead to, but you followed it without question. Donning soft slippers and a thicker slip dress, you found a candle in the top drawer, along with a few matches and a holder. You lit the candle and left your room.
Out. You needed to find a way out. Perhaps if you could get ahold of a piece of paper and a pen then you could write–
But how would you get it to someone who could take it to your family?
This place–somewhere in its halls or dusty room–had to hold the key. Something here had to be your savior, something to make this hope not without merit.
You pinched the candleholder tightly in your hand. The tiny flame danced before your eyes, occasionally catching your attention away from where you were going. All of your senses were heightened, on the lookout for the next corner’s surprise. If one of them was awake at this hour, then more could be as well. Running into one of them could be detrimental–or a possibility for answers. Perhaps if you could get one of the others, one of the less… frightful ones, you might be able to plead for help. One surely would take pity on you.
Or they would simply take advantage of the isolation.
Though that fear lingered in the back of your mind, you kept on your quiet steps.
There wasn’t much you could see with the light of the candle. The floors, like your room, were of wood boards somewhat taken care of. Portraits and landscapes hung on the walls, but their colors had faded, no longer holding the joy of life they once had captured.
Taking a left at a fork in the hall, you came to a large door that didn’t open like the others. It slid sideways on wheels like a ladder against tall bookshelves. As carefully as you could, you pushed the door open and glanced inside.
The room was just a simple parlor, with an unlit fireplace and several stuffed chairs accompanied by small side tables. Most likely an unused smoke room for the gentlemen to disappear to after dinner.
Across the room was another door, though this one seemed to be the normal kind that swung on hinges. On the other side was probably another hallway. A connecting room like this could be useful as a quick getaway, should the need arise. You mentally noted its existence and stepped inside, slowly sliding the door closed behind you. With a deep breath, you started for the other door.
“I don’t recall you being given free reign of the manor.”
You nearly dropped the candle from the unexpected voice. Careless! You should have inspected the room closer and then you would have seen Sehun clearly leaning back in one of the chairs, fully facing you. His expression was a friendly one, but rather one of deep irritation. It would seem you interrupted… something. Or maybe your mere existence was enough to annoy him.
“I wasn’t explicitly told to stay in my room,” you argued, though not in a particularly strong voice. “Is there something wrong with me walking about?”
Sehun stood from the chair with inhuman grace. You had never seen someone move so smoothly, without fault or twitch. He had complete control of his lithe limbs and tall stature. Gangly would never apply to him. His steps were noiseless as he sauntered closer, stopping a foot or two away.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he snarled. “It’s stupid to roam where you shouldn’t be.”
“Stupid?” It was one thing for you to scold yourself in your private thoughts, but you would not be insulted this way. “If I am so unwelcomed in this room then you can simply ask for me to leave.” You raised an eyebrow in challenge, hoping that would cover the pounding of your fearful heart.
He didn’t appear to notice. His jaw shifted left to right, but no words left his lips.
“Well, then.” You took your eyes away from him and started for the other door, holding on to that tiny bit of triumph.
An arm as strong as an iron bar flashed before you, blocking your way and refusing to move. Sehun’s palm was spread along the faded green pain of the wall. You shoved and pushed at the barrier, but nothing even made him flinch. He encroached, leaving behind any sense of personal space, much like Yixing just an hour before. He loomed over you, his upper lip curling into a mixture of a snarl and smirk.
“That bravery is a mistake,” he hissed. You pressed your back against the wall and brought the candle close to you as if that tiny flame was enough to keep him at bay.
Which was exactly the reaction he wanted. A sly, wicked smirk fully took over.
Pursing his lips, he blew once, snuffing out the flame. For a few seconds, you were absolutely blind in the sudden darkness. Sehun was invisible to you, despite his closeness. However, you could feel his breath against your chin. It was cold, like a winter’s breeze. It should have been warm. Human breathes were warm.
That chilling breath grew closer. It traveled from your nose to your cheek and then to your hair, ruffling the strands against your ear. Something nudged against your temple. He took a long, deep breath. His nose. Was he… smelling you?
Your eyes began to adjust to the darkness, absorbing any bits of moonlight that broke through the heavy curtains hanging from the short windows above your head. All you could see of Sehun was the slope of his shoulder and the outline of his hair.
His head snapped up, making you squeak. But he didn’t acknowledge the jump, his eyes turned towards the hallway you had entered from. A low hiss vibrated in his chest. You could nearly feel it in your own. He glanced at you once, his eyes shining unnaturally in the dark. Then, he ran from the room at a speed no man should possess.
You ran back to your room, the candle still gripped tightly by your side. Panic gripped you so completely that you passed the door to your sanctuary the first time. Once inside, you desperately searched for a way to lock the door. There was none. Alright. Fine. You would barricade the door then.
Huffing shallow breaths, you pulled and pushed the armchair so it acted like a weight against the door. It might not be heavy enough to keep it shut forever, but at least entering would be a struggle. You had tried the more fortifying dresser first, but it had refused to shift even a centimeter. The chair was the best you could do.
Ripping the blanket off of the bed, you draped the heavy fabric over your shoulders and sat down on the floor under the window. Your gaze stayed trained on the door, ears straining for the slightest sound to alert you for whoever came for you next. Sehun's cold breath still lingered against your skin. You rubbed at your cheek to try and make it go away. So close. He'd been so close.
And Yixing. That was why you couldn't be on the bed. Not tonight. Maybe not tomorrow. Or even the night after that. It was tainted. You shivered at the memory of his closeness and pulled the blanket in closer. That one long cloth was now your shield, your protection. The object that kept you safe. In your mind, at least. In truth, it would be ripped away from you as easily as water slipping through your fingers. But the thought was enough.
You tucked your chin in between the folds and kept watching the door. Soon, the night would get lighter. Already, the darkness didn't seem as strong.
How long until one of them came? Until someone tried to push their way inside? You hoped it would be a long time. Even hoped that they would forget about you and you could find a way to make it out, survive the forest, and see your family again. The odds weren't in your favor, but that hope was a life line.
As the moonlight shifted, your eyes grew heavy. It was a battle to keep them open. Each time they fluttered closed, you lost ground. Sleep that had eluded you so easily before now came back to reclaim its time. The door blurred before you and then sleep claimed its victory.
Tap, tap, tap.
Your eyes blinked open. It was still night. Or, perhaps, it was night again. This darkness felt new. The beginning of a fresh night.
Tap, tap.
You looked up at the window above your head.
Tap, tap, tap.
Little black dots hit the window before disappearing out of view. You frowned and pushed up off the floor, the protective blanket falling to the floor. Still emerging from sleep, your eyes took a moment to bring the scene into focus. At first, you merely saw a blur amongst the grass.
Then, it took shape.
You groaned. Jongdae was waving at you to come down.
You shook your head furiously. Safety was in here. And... though he didn’t feel quite as dangerous as the others, he still made you weary. The memories of Sehun and Yixing were still burnt freshly into your mind.
At your refusal, he visibly sighed. In his other hand hung a small cloth bag. He pulled a small bun from the bag and held it up to you. Your stomach grumbled and gurgled  in response. It looked… nice. You could almost smell the bread's delectable scent. Were you really going to give in to food?
You needed an ally, you told yourself. He was different from the others. How much you weren't sure, but perhaps you could use that. If you could make him sympathetic to you–
Mind made up, you turned from the wind and changed into more appropriate clothing. This time, you heeded Jongdae's advice and kept your hair down to cover your neck. It felt highly improper, like a hundred governesses would appear from nowhere to scold you for being so scandalous. But you shoved the invisible tsking women away and moved the chair just enough to exit into the hallway.
It took some time to find your way outside. Jongdae now waited for you with his back against a lone tree that looked to be one more winter away from death.
"I'll note that food is a way to entice you out."
You glared at him. "Did you have a reason for standing under my window instead of knocking on the door like a normal person?"
"Junmyeon had tried to bring you breakfast around sunrise," he said as he inspected the perfectly browned bun still in his hand. "He couldn't get in, though."
"I blocked the door," you explained casually.
Jongdae raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed by some measure. “Quick learner."
"After some… events last night, precaution was necessary."
"Yixing has restraint." He pushed off the tree and held the bun out to you. "You were lucky that Sehun was called off of you, though. His self-control is... lacking."
You gaped at him, heat rising fiercely in your cheeks. "How did you–”
“Know?" he smirked. "Secrets don't exist here. Best you learn that quickly."
You narrowed your gaze at him. "No secrets?"
Seeing right through you, he laughed, leaning forward and close to your face. "From us. Not for you."
The pure arrogance in that reply. "That hardly seems fair."
"That's life,” He shrugged. Looking around for nothing in particular, he said, “Let's take a walk."
The roll broke easily against your teeth. You chewed on the bite, resisting the urge to moan at its delicious flavor. The inside was still soft and fresh. Finally swallowing, you refused him a single step. "Why?"
"You've been sleeping on a hard floor all day,” he said pointedly. You didn’t want to think about how he possibly knew that. "You need to move." For an extra enticement, he held up the linen bag. More where that came from, he said without speaking.
The bun in your hand, though all of its warmth was gone, was like heaven in your stomach. But it certainly wouldn't be enough. "Fine."
You followed him alongside the house, not bothering to speak so you could continue eating. The last of the orange glow of day disappeared into the horizon far ahead of you. Yes, you had really slept for all those sunlit hours. Once again, night, it would seem, was to be your day. Chewing on the last bit of bun, you held your hand for the next morsel.
"We’re greedy this evening," Jongdae chuckled.
"Did you think I came for your company?" You couldn’t help but give a spiteful response.
Not offended in the slightest, he threw you a rather despicable smile. "Better my company then one of the others."
Though you agreed, you refused to do so aloud. "Are you that different from them?"
He didn't answer. Staring ahead, he reached into the bag and pulled out another bun, holding it out for you.
"Is this to keep me from asking more questions?"
You managed to make him chuckle. "No. Just to keep you occupied while I answer the last one."
Too curious, you accepted the bun and took a bite. Jongdae sighed and clasped his hands behind his back, the now nearly empty bag dangling from his fingertips. "We're all different from each other. I'm not more different from them. Though I am better than the others at controlling myself."
Your steps faltered. "Controlling yourself?"
He nodded. As you passed under another tree, he reached out and swing up into the branches without exerting effort, sitting on a branch well out of your own reach.
"What are you? All of you,” you asked in a breathy gasp. All they were capable of doing was adding up, but logic told you repeatedly it was impossible. You wanted to try and rationalize it, even try to convince yourself that you were still sick with fever. But this was all too real to be a mere hallucination. What it all meant, however, you couldn’t understand.
Hands grasped around two of the branches, he leaned forward and closed the gap between you. "You seem moderately intelligent. I'm sure you can discover the answer on your own."
"As flattering as that is," you huffed through clenched teeth, "if the answer means danger then you should be the man to tell me."
"If?" Jongdae laughed, as if he had read your mind. He jumped from the tree, flattening the bits of hair that had fallen out of place with his fingers. Despite playing in the tree like a child, he looked ever so the gentleman.
"’If' is a fantasy.” He glanced behind you. Scared, you followed his gaze, but there was no one there. When you turned back around, you gasped. His nose was mere centimeters from yours. "It does mean danger. You need to keep your eyes and ears open. Happy or not, you are here for a long while and no one is coming for you.''
You swallowed back tears as his words planted firmly in your heart. Now, you truly accepted it. No running, no escape. You were at their mercy. Whatever they were. And though Jongdae gave the impression that he was on your side, his help was firmly limited. Food and company, that was all he was good for.
Walking once again, you solemnly finished the last bit of bun as Jongdae kept pace. When the second helping of bread ran out, you chewed on your next few words. If you were here for the foreseeable future, you might as well know this land’s history.
"Who’s house is this?"
"Hm?" Jongdae had been lost in thoughts of his own, it appeared. He blinked himself back to the present conversation. "Oh. The manor is Kyungsoo's."
"Kyungsoo's?" you repeated. Odd. The answer you had been expecting was the obvious: Junmyeon. He seemed to be the one everyone looked to for answers or leadership. His word was law, yet this land did not fall to him. Kyungsoo, on the other hand, felt too... isolated, cut away to be the rightful owner of this grand place. The few lords you had met before all possessed the same self-awareness and high opinion of themselves. Kyungsoo didn’t give the appearance that he cared about either.
"Yes,” Jongdae nodded, his previous teasing gone now. “He inherited it from his father. The family used to own as much land as the eye could see. But his father was a gambler. Terrible at cards, wonderful at losing. They had to sell the land to keep the debtors at bay. Now, all that is left is this manor and a bit of the surrounding land, but no tenants. The glory of the family is now reduced to this.”
You listened to the story with careful respect. It was one sadly more common among the nobility then they wished to admit. Land was constantly switching family names, sometimes it was difficult to keep track. A small fear you had was accidentally reminding a high nobility of their careless ancestor. "What's his family name?"
"Jongdae! Here's where you disappeared off to."
Your stroll in the moonlight stuttered to a halt.

I call the Maknae line of EXO AKA Chaotic fucks :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chanyeol / 찬열 - Former Elite Four Member Occupation: Song-Writer and Composer *Mega* Blaziken (Fire/Fighting) Base - 530 to 630
My bias Chanyeol is another one of the Former Elite Four Member and is also a Song-Writer and Composer and was given a Blaziken that can mega evolve. A Fire Type was obvious for Chanyeol with his power being fire, I just personally see him with a Blaziken and a starter.
His other occupation was either a Song-Writer and Composer or a Model but I decided on the first two (technically) because he is so talented with singing, song writing, dancing, producing etc. Even with his occupation he'd still be a powerful trainer as he was an Elite Four Member.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D.O / 디오 Occupation: Actor/Chef *Mega* Aggron (Steel/Ground to Steel) Base - 530 to 630
Kyungsoo!! Is a Chef and Actor and is given a tough asf Aggron. My reason for an Aggron was because his power is force though I always just say is earth and Aron is pretty cute (like Kyungsoo) and evolves into such a powerful Pokémon (his voice is just powerful).
The Chef and Actor occupation was obvious. He likes cooking and he's featured in quite the number of Drama OST and actual Dramas :) Despite his occupation he would be quite the powerful trainer and I can see his team being multitalented in those occupations.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kai / 카이 Occupation: Pokémon Contest Idol and Ballet Dancer *Mega* Gallade (Psychic/Fighting) Base - 518 to 618
Mr Icon of Sexiness Jongin here is a Pokémon Contest Idol (like Baekhyun) and a Ballet Dancer. I chose Gallade after realizing I gave Gardeviour too Taeyong, the other reason I chose this was because of the Psychic Typing and researching the fact that Gallade can use Teleport. Additionally Kirlia takes inspiration from a ballerina so that's additional.
His performances are AMAZING and he did ballet when he was younger so doing ballet makes sense. I recon his performances would be absolutely magical when doing it with his Pokémon and I think his Gallade would also be amazing at performances with ballet and the mega makes it even better []~( ̄▽ ̄)~*
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sehun / 세훈 Occupation: Model *Gigantamax* Corviknight (Flying/Steel) Base - 495
Final member and Maknae Oh Sehun, he's a Model and is given a Corviknight. Since his power is wind a Flying Type was certainly suitable for him, though I thought that Corviknight was good because I think its real intimidating and powerful looking (just like my first impressions of Sehun <(_ _)>)
Peoples already know the visual of this man, makes it obvious for the occupation and I think even with the occupation he would be a powerful trainer like what I said with Kyungsoo. Also I can picture him traveling by flying on top of Corviknight, similar to how its shown in Pokémon Twilight Wings.

Chapter Eighteen
(Prev//Next)
Prompt: You’re the most important thing to EXO, you’ve been with them for years, and when you wind up missing, it greatly upsets them. Their journey to find you and bring you home starts a chain of events that leads to facing their own greatest fears, making unlikely allies, traveling to other worlds again and finally gathering the strength to take down their greatest enemy. Along the way you get to see their true colors and fall in love all over again, although you might come to realize you don’t like what you see in the mirror.

Tumblr media
“She knows she’s home.”
Suho and Chanyeol were still processing what they had just discovered, but the others needed to know as well. There wasn’t much to explain, but everyone agreed that you needed space. No one was happy about the situation, but they also had another pressing matter at hand. All the preparations were complete, so now they just needed the start. Lay was in the water, Jooheon and Shownu having been the ones to volunteer and get in with him. Of course the difficult part was getting Kihyun into the in-between. There was no real certain way to do so, meaning the only option was for Kai to teleport with them.
It was something rather quick, and then Kai was in the water with Kihyun. He passed him over to Lay who gently fed him an elixir. Jooheon and Shownu both drank the same thing, laying back in the water and closing their eyes. The others could only watch on in silence. There was tension now between both groups. Besides the revelation of what had happened to Kihyun, there was now your past and disappearance. Still, the priority was Kihyun, so all they could do was hope for the best.
♥♥♥♥♥
To close your eyes and open them again to endless darkness was quite frightening. The fear was present only for a moment before Jooheon realized he wasn’t alone. Next to him was Shownu and Lay.
“Where are we?”
“The in-between.” Lay explained. “An endless void.”
“So Kihyun is here somewhere?” Shownu asked.
“In theory, but there’s no guarantee.”
“How do we find him?”
“You both have to seek him out. If he’s here, he’ll let you find him.”
“But where?”
“I don’t know. This place creates hell for those that get stuck, I can’t imagine where he’d be.”
“So, it’s up to us.” Jooheon confirmed. “What exactly do we do if we find him?”
“If you find you need to bring him back here, and together we can leave.”
“That’s it?”
“It might sound easy, but it’s not. Trust your gut, and good luck.”
“Thanks.”
For the sake of staying together Jooheon and Shownu remained close, walking in the darkness. Neither knew when Lay had disappeared, but it was just the two of them now. They kept walking aimlessly until they heard a loud crash noise and were blinded by a strong white light. When they regained their vision they found themselves on an abandoned road. Shownu had no idea where he was, but Jooheon recognized the place immediately.
“Kihyun…”
Jooheon soon found Kihyun running down the road, chasing down the car before it crashed. As much as he wanted to change things, he knew it wasn’t possible. At least not here.
“Kihyun!”
Jooheon chased after his friend, and soon Shownu was aware of what was going on. The two followed after the other until the car crashed and he stopped.
“Kihyun, please.” Jooheon begged. “You have to let go.”
It didn’t seem that Kihyun was listening, and soon enough the car reappeared on the road and drove past the trio. Kihyun chased after it again, and the two followed. Shownu managed to catch up and hold Kihyun back.
“Let go! I have to-”
“I’m right here.” Jooheon grabbed Kihyun. “I’m right here, I’m okay.”
“Jooheon?”
“Yeah, yeah it’s me.”
“You’re alive.”
“Yes, yes I am, and so are you.”
“Huh?”
“You can let go. We’re both okay.”
They all heard the car crash again and looked over. Kihyun stared at the scene before him, gripping Jooheon’s arms tightly.
“Let’s go home.” Jooheon said. “Together.”
There wasn’t much they could do but walk away from the crash. Eventually everything faded to black and they were walking in a void. When Lay had appeared he called out to them. Kihyun was so excited to see such an old friend, but the reunion would have to wait a moment. They all held hands and closed their eyes, placing their trust into Lay.
♥♥♥♥♥
When Jooheon opened his eyes he gasped, getting his feet under him. He could see that Lay was awake, and so was Shownu, although Kihyun was still unconscious. Before he could ask anything Kihyun opened his eyes, taking in a deep breath.
“Kihyun!”
All the others jumped into the water to greet their brother, overjoyed to see him alive. While everyone was caught up with that, Baekhyun snuck away from the scene, wanting to look for you. It wasn’t long before he found you locked up in one of the rooms, he knocked, but he already knew your answer.
“Go away.”
“Y/n, please let me explain.”
“I don’t want to hear it.”
Baekhyun couldn’t understand much, but he knew he had hurt you. He sat down, leaning against your door. Even if you didn’t want to hear it he had to be honest.
“I’m sorry… there’s so much we should have told you before, but we just didn’t know how.” Baekhyun sighed. “We called this planet, this place, home for a very long time. Everything was good and we didn’t notice RF’s presence growing until it was too late. They captured us, and we were their prisoners for months… perhaps longer… when we finally escaped we weren’t in good condition, and somehow wound up at your place. Even though we were complete strangers you were so kind to us and helped us without question. Of course it wasn’t long before RF tracked us down. We knew we couldn’t just leave you for RF to find, so we took you with us.”
“… but why did you make me forget?” “It’s not like we could bring you home anytime soon…”
“Were you ever gonna tell me?”
“Honestly… I’m not sure. We had no idea you were close to Wonho and the others.”
“I don’t remember them… can I recover those memories?”
“You’d have to ask Lay, but those memories are buried deep… do you hate us?”
“I don’t know…”
At that moment Wonho came over. He was still a bit wet, but he wanted to talk to you. Baekhyun stood up as he came to the door, knocking and letting you know it was him. To Baekhyun’s jealousy you opened the door a bit.
“Hi.”
“Hey, do you think you could come out for a bit, so we can talk.”
You carefully opened the door and stepped out. Wonho gave you a smile, putting you at ease. Although you couldn’t look over at Baekhyun.
“Why are you wet?”
“We woke up Kihyun.”
“You did!? That’s great news.”
“Yeah. The others are examining him to make sure everything is good, but I wanted to check in with you. How are you?”
“I’m not sure… everything is fine but I don’t know who I am anymore… I’m not sure I ever did…”
“I’m glad you’re alive.”
“What was my life like?”
“You were incredible, very intelligent, had a nice job and your own place. Although I do need to apologize for something.”
“For what?”
“I, and the rest of my brothers, disappeared without a word. We made you worry so much, and then when we came back we couldn’t give you an explanation.”
“What happened?”
“It’s a long story. Why don’t we step out for a bit.”
“Sure.”
Baekhyun wanted to protest about you leaving the house, but he knew you wouldn’t listen to him right now. Even if things weren’t good between them right now, he still trusted Wonho to look after you, so he let the two of you go. The two of you walked together in silence for a while. The fresh air was nice, and it helped clear your mind.
“Wonho.”
“Hm?”
“How do you know EXO?
“It’s a rather long story.” Wonho began. “Me and my brothers had our own troubles, and EXO came to our aid. They helped us out and took us under their wing. We learned about plants and their abilities, but we also drew unwanted attention. RF captured us all, one by one. They experimented on us and questioned us about EXO, but we didn’t know much.”
“But you got out.”
“We tried to escape, but that didn’t work, so… Hyungwon made a deal. He gave Baekhyun up in exchange for our freedom. I don’t know what happened after that.”
“So then what happened with me?”
“I was trying to put things back together, so I went to see you one night to catch up, and the next day you were gone. I feared it was RF, but I couldn’t do anything about it. The others told me that I had to let go, and for that I am so sorry.”
“Even if you did try to look for me, I doubt you would have found me.”
You and Wonho stopped when you heard a noise, looking around and seeing Hyungwon. Wonho immediately stepped in front of you, but you grabbed his arm. You knew there was tension between the two, but you didn’t want anyone getting hurt.
“What do you want?” Wonho spat.
“I merely want to help fill in the gaps. I overheard you talking, and I thought you might want to know the truth.”
“About what?”
“The night y/n disappeared.”
“You know what happened to me?” You questioned.
“I do. You see the night Wonho went to see you is the night EXO escaped. With the limited power they had, Kai teleported to the nearest person he trusted. That happened to be Wonho. He was at your place moments before they appeared, so that’s how EXO wound up in your backyard.”
“So it was my fault…” Wonho mumbled. “I’m the reason-”
“No.” You interrupted. “You can’t possibly blame yourself for something like that.”
“She’s right.” Hyungwon said. “Somethings are fated to happen, you can’t blame yourself for that night.”
“Was I always meant to meet EXO? To be close to them?”
“As far as Tao could see into the future, the answer was always yes.”
“Tao?”
“He would have loved to meet you, all of the others would.”
“Others…”
“What is it that you’re doing here?” Wonho asked. “No one’s exactly happy with you right now.”
“I know, but I want to help.”
“How?”
“I have a message for EXO. The base is the same, and the security system will be shut down in two days for scheduled maintenance. That’ll be the best time to strike, and this is only the beginning.”
“You expect me, us, to believe that?”
“I haven’t enjoyed my time with RF. Everything has a purpose, but I hope you’ll relay my message.”
Hyungwon left without another word. You had a lot to ponder now, but you knew it was best to get back to the others. When you returned your boys expressed their worries, but you assured them that you were okay. You still needed space, but you promised not to run off. Even if he didn’t like it, Wonho still relayed the message, and now everyone was on the same page.
“That’s why you came back.” Minhyuk said. “You want to destroy RF.”
“We won’t run anymore.” Xiumin stated.
“We’d appreciate a hand.” Chen added. “But you don’t have to. They’ve done enough to you guys.”
“All the more reason to assist.” Changkyun said. “It sounds like payback.”
“Am I included in this?”
Everyone looked over to see Hyungwon had made an appearance. Although he set his sight onto Kihyun, and the two stared at each other.
“Hyungwon…”
“It’s good to see you again.” Hyungwon smiled. “It’s been a while.”
“Yeah…”
“I can help with this plan. I know the base inside and out, but I understand you don’t trust me.”
“That may be the case.” Suho said. “But I don’t think you’d be here if you were truly untrustworthy.”
“You trust me?”
“I believe you have valuable information you’re willing to give us. Don’t you agree?”
“I do.”

Tumblr media
"Beer for everyone." Chanyeol announced as he held the bottles out to Kai, Sehun and Kyungsoo.
Y/N smiled, stopping her conversation with Sehun who was sitting next to her, she reached out her hands to grab her bottle.
"And for you, miss." Chanyeol snatched the bottle away from Y/N's hands before she could touch it and handed her another one. "Cola."
Her smile faded instantly and the boys laughed at her surprised face.
"Are you serious?" She asked irritably and Chanyeol pursed his lips, nodding in agreement. She took the bottle reluctantly. "You forget that I'm only 4 years younger than you, right?"
"A baby, practically." Kai spoke, to piss her off even more.
"You should drink milk." Sehun joked, taking a sip of his beer.
Y/N glared at him.
"I'm not the one crying because nobody wished me a happy birthday." She replied and Kyungsoo laughed out loud, nearly spitting out his beer.
Kai and Chanyeol laughed too when they saw Sehun's face wither.
"You're not funny." He complained and she rolled her eyes, returning her attention to Chanyeol who sat on the other side of the couch.
"Why can't I drink with you guys?" she didn't want to look like a child but it was impossible not to pout.
"Because I still remember perfectly how you look when you drink." he replied and she snorted.
"It was only once."
"You wanted to throw yourself in the pool."
"It was hot!"
"You can't even swim."
"I was going to float anyway."
"Your dress was white!"
"The family quarrel will last for how long?" Kyungsoo asked sarcastically.
Y/N crossed her arms and glared at him.
She hated it when they treated her like she was a little sister. She was a friend, nothing more.
And yet, it seemed that no one took it seriously. Mainly Chanyeol.
"I hate it when you guys do that." she complained and saw Kyungsoo raise his eyebrows, slightly confused. "You treat me like I'm a child." she stared at Chanyeol who was stretching his arm on the sofa, looking at her curiously. "Mostly you!"
"That's because you're innocent, Y/N." Kai said and she looked at him instantly.
"What?!" she asked, partially shocked. Because the other part thought it was funny.
That's why she started laughing, that idea was absurd.
But seeing that they were quiet, indicated that it was serious.
When she looked at Chanyeol, he had guilt in his eyes.
She blinked a few times.
"Oh come on!"
"But that has to do with your personality, Y/N." Sehun argued. "You're always so quiet and shy."
"Remember when you accidentally fell into Baekhyun's lap? You ran to hide."
Y/N felt her cheeks burn at the memory of what had happened.
It was all Chanyeol's fault, really. She had bought a new dress, a little shorter than what she was used to wearing but she loved how it looked on her body, she got up from the sofa at Suho's house - it was his engagement party - and Chanyeol got up from where he was about to cover her exposed legs with a blanket.
However, she was annoyed that he wanted to cover her legs all the time so she tried to stop Chanyeol. It wasn't a very smart decision because he kept wrapping the blanket around her waist, it brought him closer and made her flinch every time he tried to cover her up. And that made her fall into Baekhyun's lap because she hadn't seen the boy sitting down.
"Do you need to remember this every day?" she questioned, trying not to show that she was still ashamed of that.
And the way Chanyeol was looking at her was making her even more shy.
"Admit it, Y/N, you're innocent." Sehun shrugged and she stared at him, challenged.
"You guys really don't know me."
[...]
Y/N opened the door and heard hurried footsteps running towards her, trying to balance the purchases in her hands felt something jump on her leg, she smiled before she even looked.
And then barking echoed through the room.
"Hey Zzar, calm down girl!" she laughed and closed the door with one leg. "I hope you didn't wreck your father's house."
Y/N looked around and apparently everything was intact, this made her sigh and go to the kitchen, leaving her groceries on top of the counter. After she bent down to pick the dog up, Zzar gladly accepted and started licking Y/N's face, who just laughed.
"I know, I missed you too." She hugged the dog's body. "Let's make up for lost time, your father will take time."
Chanyeol had taken Toben to the vet to get some tests done as the dog seemed quieter than usual, which was really weird considering it was only calm when Y/N was around, but Chanyeol was worried since Toben wasn't eating right too.
And since Chanyeol couldn't take care of Zzar and Toben at the same time, he had asked for help from the only person he trusted. Y/N.
She already had the keys to his house, she was social enough for Zzar not to strange her presence, she was free to cook and even take a shower at Chanyeol's house.
And it wasn't like she could deny his request.
She could never resist his wide smile.
Even if it meant leaving work, tired, and heading straight to his place after stopping by the market.
Y/N took the opportunity to cook something and while leaving it on the stove, she put food for Zzar.
After eating and washing the dishes she had messed up, Y/N turned off the lights and went straight to Chanyeol's room and threw herself on the huge comfortable bed.
She laughed when she saw that Zzar tried to do the same thing as her, but without success. Y/N was about to pick the dog up and put it on the bed when her phone vibrated.
She looked up quickly, seeing that Chanyeol had sent her an audio message.
'I'm waiting for the doctor to call, he's going to talk to me about the x-ray.' Chanyeol grunted from the other side and Y/N swallowed hard, the tired and husky tone was a little too much for her. 'Thanks again for taking care of Zzar, I hope I'll be back home soon.'
Y/N took a deep breath before answering, saying that she would always be there when he needed her and that everything would work out.
She blocked the phone screen and left it next to her body while looking at the ceiling.
She knew he wasn't only tired but worried, and so was she. Both with Toben and Chanyeol.
However… Chanyeol's voice sent shivers through Y/N's body that she didn't even know was possible.
All she wanted was to be able to be by his side, hugging him tight, feeling his strong arms wrap around her tightly.
Y/N ran her hands over her face and took a deep breath again, that crush she had on her friend was pathetic and longstanding.
But there was no stopping it, he had everything she was looking for in a man and more.
In fact, Chanyeol had set the bar too high for any guy to reach. And the fact that Y/N couldn't find anyone who could come close to what Chanyeol was… was frustrating.
Y/N looked at Zzar who was lying beside the bed and staring at Y/N.
"Your dad is a idiot, you know that?" Zzar cocked the head to the side, seeming even interested in what Y/N was saying. "If he knew what his voice does to my legs, he would never speak around me again." Zzar continued to stare at Y/N. "And the worst thing is, he can't even imagine the influence he has on me. I'm a fool, right?" Zzar raised the hind legs and wagged its tail. "Of course I am, I'm pouring my heart out to a dog."
Y/N sighed, her whole body feeling tired but she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep until Chanyeol arrived.
However, being stubborn, she even tried to take a nap, but she turned from side to side, even with her eyes closed, sleep didn't come.
And honestly, that outfit was bothering her. Lying down in jeans and a blouse with pearl details was hurting her, that's why she decided to strip down to her underwear and got out of bed, going to Chanyeol's wardrobe to put on one of his sweatshirts.
She touched his clothes, his perfume was impregnated in everything there, and she laughed softly when she found the famous purple sweatshirt.
It had been so long since she had seen him wear that sweatshirt, she smiled mischievously and put it on right away.
Of course, it was twice her size but it could still read the red 'Sexual fantasies' lettering.
She thought he'd thrown that sweatshirt away, but it was tucked away in the back of his wardrobe.
Y/N took the opportunity to go to the bathroom and Zzar followed after going on its way to who knows where, Y/N laughed at the thought that the dog had also gone to do her business.
After washing her hands, Y/N looked at her reflection in the mirror and laughed as she remembered Sehun's words from the other day.
"Admit it, you're innocent."
Imagine what he and the guys would think to see her wearing that sweatshirt.
Like a click, a rather evil idea flashed through Y/N's head and her eyes widened as she realized what she had been thinking.
Okay, she wasn't that innocent but she wasn't a pervert either.
She left the bathroom, shaking her head as if to dismiss that thought and went back to the bedroom, expecting Zzar's company but the dog wasn't there.
Y/N threw herself on the bed again and looked back at the bedroom ceiling, trying to control her breathing but the idea wouldn't leave her head.
She didn't need to touch herself then and there just to prove to herself that she wasn't as pure as others thought she was.
But on the other hand, no one would ever know. Wearing Chanyeol's sweatshirt in his bed would be like committing a crime.
Maybe not that serious.
But it was dangerous. That's why it was so tempting.
Y/N's breathing started to get heavier as her head convinced her that this was going to be a secret that no one would ever suspect, she brought her thumbnail to her mouth as she pondered practically giving in to temptation.
And she only needed one thing to convince herself, remembering Chanyeol's audio.
His growl had activated something in her, her most intimate and secret fantasies. The most sexual.
Her heart was pounding and she kept her eyes closed as she imagined Chanyeol growling like that in her ear, and then kissing every inch of her neck while his firm and large hands touched her body shamelessly.
How sweet the low moans he would let out, and the dirty words he would speak so close to her ear.
Just imagining it, she shivered all over, her body temperature rose and she felt a certain discomfort in her lower abdomen as well as a fire that rose from her legs to the middle of them.
Y/N took her hand to her panties but figured it was Chanyeol's fingers slowly teasing her.
Now, she needed to finish what she started and she had enough imagination for that.
She was too lost in her own fantasy to hear the front door close, Chanyeol arrived with Toben on his lap.
The poor dog was doped with medicine that would help with the stomach problem it was having, at least he was sure that the little animal was getting better. Chanyeol hated seeing Toben so quiet, it was even weird.
Chanyeol looked for Y/N with his eyes but he didn't find her there so he took the opportunity to take Toben to its bed, after petting the pet's fur, he started looking for Y/N around the house.
She wasn't in the kitchen, he found Zzar sleeping next to the couch but Y/N wasn't there so he just thought she was in his room.
And he wasn't going to complain because he knew how much she liked his bed, and he wasn't planning on going there either because he wanted to curl up on the couch and go to sleep.
However, he didn't even sit on the sofa because he heard a muffled groan. Frowning, he stayed silent to make sure he wasn't delusional and he was sure when he heard it again coming from his room.
Curious, he made his way towards the bedroom in slow, silent steps. Was Y/N having nightmares or…
"Chanyeol." He stopped where he was when he heard the moan now louder and it had nothing to do with dreams, he knew that moan well but not coming from Y/N. That was why his eyes were wide. "Please, faster."
He felt the blood rush through his veins and pool in two places: his ears, which should have been red, and well…his cock.
The sound was low but still erotic. Something he never thought he'd hear from Y/N, it was so sensual that even going against his morals his feet carried him towards the bedroom door.
He swallowed hard and clenched his hands into fists when he had the privileged view of Y/N lying on his bed, with her panties pushed to the side while her fingers entered and left her quickly.
He smirked when he saw that she was wearing his purple sweatshirt.
Naughty, was all he thought.
Chanyeol wasn't even breathing, he wanted to be able to capture every sound Y/N made, be it the pained moans that came out of her mouth or the sound of her fingers desperately touching her intimacy.
"Chanyeol, I wanna cum. Please."
Heavens, he could never have imagined her saying that, but now that he had heard it, he felt every part of his body become electrified.
Y/N panted and arched as her fingers circled her clit, eyes closed as the most pornographic sounds came out he was sure she was close.
Chanyeol felt his pants get tighter and tighter as he got excited to see the scene.
"Fuck, more. Oh my God." and then he saw her squirm and her mouth open in a perfect O as a loud, drawn-out moan echoed through the house. As she moaned his name.
He felt every hair on his body stand on end and it took a lot of self-control not to bring his hand to the erection that was now apparent.
Y/N took a deep breath as spasms followed the orgasm, and Chanyeol felt his mouth water at the sight of her pussy all wet and shiny as Y/N removed her fingers to adjust her panties back into place.
He would have laughed at Y/N's shocked face when she turned her head and saw him standing in the open doorway, if he wasn't completely aroused and ready to do something crazy.
Y/N's mouth opened a few times but no sound came out, it didn't even sound like she was the one moaning seconds ago, and she blinked more than usual. She was speechless.
That's why he took the opportunity to enter the room, being watched by her, and go to the bed, kneeling on the mattress without taking his eyes off her.
Y/N felt her eyes flicker as Chanyeol bent down so that his face was closer to hers, both of their breaths were panting and Y/N didn't even move.
"You're a very bad girl, you know that?" he whispered, bringing a hand to her thigh and Y/N sighed. "And do you know what happens to bad girls?" she shook her head and Chanyeol lightly slapped her skin, making her moan in surprise. "They are punished."
"Please." she asked and he ran his hand over her sodden panties up to the sweatshirt she was wearing.
"Pretty conducive, don't you think?" he referred to the phrase and she bit her bottom lip.
"I was hoping it wasn't just fantasy." She replied quietly and Chanyeol brought his face more close to hers, their noses touching.
"Don't worry, tonight won't be."
