Expandedverse Worldbuilding Tidbits: SMPLive

About time I revisited this.

Decentralized government with no single leader

"Server cop" is being reworked into more of a self-appointed neighborhood watch type of position

Laws are decided through court, so everyone gets a say

Main laws worth noting:

Potions and enchanted golden apples are controlled substances that can only be used under extremely specific circumstances, usually with supervision of someone with medical training

Killing without a hit, barring for self-defense or a mutually-agreed fight, is illegal

Economy is mostly market exchange-driven

Some characters sell books, crops, food, rare building materials, weaponry, etc

Specialized skills are highly valued - Luemas and Travis's building firm is successful for this reason

Diamonds are still the primary form of currency, but secondarily to that a bartering system is often used as well

Food:

Common food tends to be the basics such as cooked steak and pork, fish, fruit, vegetables, mushroom stew

Sandwiches and wraps are a common meal made from vegetables and meat

Cake is beloved but mostly reserved for special occasions - other options like cookies and sweet berries are more common snacks for people with a sweet tooth

Nether delicacies are highly sought after - nether wart and warped fungus stew, meat from hoglins, strider bacon...

Miscellaneous:

All characters have a communicator device used to quickly nessage the entire area or particular individuals

Some characters have modified their communicator to fit their personal needs - James's has a "flight mode" that displays incoming messages as a HUD on his visor, and Cooper's is waterproofed

Primary form of travel is through the Nether highway system. They never get elytra in Expandedverse, sorry!

Most characters have a very loose understanding of first aid, very few have proper medical training

Dripleaf is a common material used to fashion bandages

While potions themselves aren't allowed in most cases, other applications of their ingredients are acceptable!

So in this variation atan actually after getting branded for maximum angst actually takes the book but ford stops him. And asks him to stay a night and to treat his wound. He ends up venting to stan after some pushing and tells him about bill how he possesed him, tortured him all the works. And warns stan about him. Stan in a moment of pure adrenaline asks ford to "take rest" and he will look after him and not allow bill to wreak havoc ; ford was suspicious but god did he need some sleep and stan wouldn't do something stupid right ??right?? He in a frenzy gets approached by bill who asks him to take his side ; Stan "agrees " and asks him to use his body instead of "sixer" and did one thing ford asked him not to do and makes a deal.

Bill makes a deal yada yada but stop stan is not stupid he wispered something under his breath along the line of "but my body still belongs to me" He remembered reading something about a memory gun in the journal and though he would wipe him right of his mind . So back to the but my body still belongs to me part. Bill mends the deal between his wispers and so his conditions not fully established and so what happens is that half his body is in his control and teh other half in bill's.

Bill catches a wind of this and sees his plan in his mind .stan realized what happened and is certain he is not gonna survive . He and bill started to fight which triggered the security cameras put up by ford . Bill pulls takes the crossbow and points it at stan's head " your not gonna hurt yourself smart guy" but stan had other plans he took the memory gun and points it at his head . And boom no bill ,no stan and a startled ford . He starts to run and to teh surce of the sound and finds the body of his brother cold and dead on his basement with f a smile which was weak but content. Ford drops on his knees and noticed his hands one held the the crossbow and the other the memory gun.

Ford after a lot of crying finnaly decided to see his last moments and what he sees left him regretting every word his said to stan in the past 11 years . NOW COMES THE MUSE OF THE TWISTED IDEA "house of memories " by panic at the disco. Just listen to teh song and imagine stan saying all those things when he noticed teh camera with some unwanted interjections by bill. Especially the last second para along with the rest of the song and also the last para the "will you rememberme in teh same way as i remembered you" ok now for thsi i have two endings planned either a: the good end where ford ressurects stan or b: the guilty cherry on this cake of angst he cannot ressurect stan and instead is like the better world ford but he missed his brother .

With a soft thud a snowball landed on Jaina’s back and she winced. Tahiri was absolutely happy for her throw hitting it’s aim so perfectly for Jaina normally was able to feel impacts about to happen. Then again, the reason for Tahiri’s throw was Jaina being unnormally deep in thought, so deep she seemed to have lost contact to the area around them, and Tahiri wanted to break through to her.

“Tahiri 1, Jaina 0!” she exclaimed while grinning.

Expandedverse: Species Notes

Non-exhaustive, but some notes on the more common species :)

Nether Demons: The main race inhabiting the Nether. They are not really demonic entities, just humanoids who have evolved to survive in the Nether. The form they take is fixed, and can vary from looking extremely non-human (like Bad) to looking only slightly different from your average human (like Kara). Notable individuals: Bad, Kara, Eryn (hybrid)

Trickster Demons: Shapeshifting demonic entities who can take on any form, but usually choose one unique form to represent themselves. Rare, and stigmatized, they will often try to blend into society. Their true forms are more stereotypically demonic - spade tails, bioluminescence, horns, dark sclera, etc. Notable individuals: Tina, Travis, Grunk

Seafolk: Humanoids with aquatic characteristics - usually fish-like, but they can be dolphins, axolotls, etc as well. They are capable of living on land, but need to be considerate of different living requirements and accessibility. They are a single-sex race and gender identity is chosen as a coming of age thing, and is also flexible. They can be found everywhere, but are native to the Ocean Empire. Notable individuals: Lizzie, Jimmy, Cooper, Sally

Avians: Humanoid bird hybrids with small stature and large wingspans. Like seafolk, they come in all shapes. Their small bodies and hollow bones allow them to be more agile in the air, having less wind resistance than the average human. They live in pretty much every corner of the world. Notable individuals: Phil, Quackity, James

Sheepfolk: Shapeshifters who have two forms - anthropomorphic sheep, and sheep humanoid. Their anthro forms are usually short and fluffy (just think about Rammie). They inhabit the overworld and aren't limited to any one area. Notable individuals: Puffy, Schlatt, Mikey

Not a species, but a note on non-demonic shifters: they are only capable of shifting between two forms - typically one humanoid and one non-humanoid. They are either born into a race with this ability (like sheepfolk), inherit it through genetics (like Fundy), or are gifted the ability by a deity (like Connor).

Im not tryna say i invented it, or it's such an original thought . im js saying i used to search evboverse, expecting to find actual evboverse posts, and it was just my own accounts. Im glad ppl are finally putting a name to the expandedverse

Im so glad people have started using the word "evboverse" bc like a week ago, me and my alt accounts were the only ones to use that stupid word and now other people r doing it and im like thank god because its such an all encompassing term and i like it.

schlatt & puffy - ouessant sheep. they're little! well, schlatt not so much in his humanoid form, but his "rammie form" is very much just a little guy.

miqzah - scottish blackface. the most common breed of sheep in ireland, so it's only fitting.

tubbo - i can never decide if i want him to be a goat or a sheep. but if i do make him a sheep. jacob's sheep. the one with the two sets of horns.

friend - merino. i just get the vibes. quite literally friend shaped. is just a normal sheep and not a "sheepfolk" (the name i've been calling sheep shapeshifters) like the above

Full Name: Timekeeper Connor XD Schlatt

Species: Hedgehog shifter

Age: 18 (AF/FW era), 20 (SMPLive canon era), 36 (Post-canon DSMP era)

Pronouns: He/him

Gender: Trans man

Orientation: Bisexual (no preference)

ISFJ 9w1, True Neutral

A hedgehog shifter originating from Dream SMP, created when XD took a liking to a normal hedgehog and decided to turn it into a humanoid to watch over timelines. Was raised into the job of timekeeper, didn't really want it so ran off to SMPLive on his 18th birthday. Only returned to Dream SMP on his husband's request.

Awkward and somewhat skittish, will stick to anyone he knows closely. Can easily manipulate situations if needed. Retains his time travel capabilities.

Now aligns himself with the Anarchist Syndicate, and has managed to succeed in reviving his late husband, who begrudgingly sticks with the Syndicate despite disagreeing with their values.

Additional notes under cut:

Trans identity is complicated - prior to XD finding him he had no real concept of gender since it's a human social construct. XD gave his humanoid form a stereotypically feminine name and appearance based on physicality which Connor didn't appreciate, and XD is really weird about being wrong so that was one of the big conflicts that led to Connor leaving.

In SMPL, sells ice at Spawn City in addition to running Schlatt & Co. Has a brief rivalry with Cooper over this.

Turns into a hedgehog when extremely frightened or overwhelmed.

Has a lot of animalistic traits beyond what you would typically see in a hybrid due to his weird status as a transformed animal. Most of his body language involves his ears, as well as his quills, which make up his "hair" and run down the back of his neck.

Skipper was... Not planned. It's a bit of a long story. She was born in early SMPLive era and would be about 13 or so in post-canon DSMP. (I mainly just wanted an excuse to make a Schlonnor fankid because my mutuals had really cute DSMP fankids and I wanted in. She'll probably get her own bio eventually.)

Uses rings to time travel by bending the fabric of reality to create time portals. His time travel abilities are kind of inspired by a mix of the rings used as portals in various Sonic media as well as the time travel mechanics of Sonic CD.

A fish hybrid who resides in SMPLive. Tries to present himself as laidback and chill, but tends to worry easily and get himself worked up. Mischievous and can be a bit of a brat. Unsure of his place in the world. A literal fish out of water.

Raised by his adoptive father to fear and hate the ocean. Unlearning that.

Works as an assassin like many others in SMPLive, gets a lot of jobs due to his experience and specialized skills. Highly skilled at creating undetectable redstone traps.

Can breathe on land and in water, though has issues with hot environments such as the Nether and can experience something analogous to asthma in humans. Best dealt with by tossing him into the closest body of water.

Has excellent night vision, to the point that he can easily sneak up on people.

Concerned with the law when it benefits him, disregards it when it doesn't.

Uses his tail to express body language. Also uses it as a third arm to an extent - primarily just for pointing things out and pushing things out of the way.

Had a business rivalry with Connor selling ice until he got bored.

Absolute lightweight when it comes to alcohol.

expandedverse loreposting. okay so let's talk about the timeline split aka the smpearth problem

see, smpearth, both in its own canon and in expandedverse, is a simulation orchestrated by laramie online. however, some kind of malfunction occured with bigprism that practically tore the timeline into two slightly different timelines that will never converge.

certain locations that have a counterpart in the "prism timeline":

dream smp - origins smp

smplive - tekkitlive (it's tekkitlife, actually)

hermitcraft - traffic series

karmaland - qsmp (look, i found a way to fit it in!)

the modded nature of the prism timeline comes from corruptions within bigprism's code.

the original expandedverse timeline isn't a simulation, the prism offshoot is, and smpearth is, but used real people as test subjects

idk if that all makes sense

anyways bc i'm getting closer and closer to finishing chapter 3 of af/fw and it's been over a year at this point, let me introduce any new followers to the protagonists. (and one new one)

the story is a smplive/empires crossover fic that hopefully shouldn't require knowledge of either

Cooper Sopho - A fish hybrid who was raised in SMPLive by his adoptive father Thala with no knowledge of his origin. Unknowingly hails from the Ocean Empire, the secret third sibling to the pair of rulers that oversee it. Tries to be cool and laidback, but tends to worry easily. Seeks the truth about himself.

"Travis" - A demon who disguises himself as a dog hybrid. Trying to distance himself from his species out of guilt and fear. Tries very hard to seem nonthreatening and friendly to the point that many underestimate how observant and aware he is of his surroundings and people's emotions.

Joko - A relatively normal individual of an unknown species. Makes a living selling products that no one else expect to actually sell, somehow. Keeps the other two in line, despite getting bullied by them. Seeks adventure.

honestly I just have no idea how to incorporate the SMPEarth ARG lore into my au so I'm just taking it as real events. Like. I don't know how to work in the fact that at some point the majority of characters that appear were (unknowingly?) taken by a shadowy tech company and jammed into a virtual simulation of the earth before just being. Let go?

in expandedverse i had it so that's exactly what happens, some have their memories wiped, some don't, and some stay behind (like sophie)

and also there's a timeline split due to instability in bigprism which is what causes tekkitlife, 3rd life, origins smp, qsmp to exist in an offshoot timeline

An avian from SMPLive, a member of "Team Chunk Error". Alongside Poke, likes to cause problems as much as possible for his amusement. Deadpan snarker. Somewhat reckless and emotionally closed off.

Like most avians, dude is tiny, built for flight. Compact and aerodynamic. Unfortunately, his short stature plus hollow bones don't exactly help him in combat, so he's primarily a speedster. They can't hit him if they can't catch him!

Has a pair of "head-wings" that are used for nonverbal cues. Always wears a yellow visor that's got a couple different features, such as showing him communicator messages when he's in the air.

Hii! I just had a clarifying question on expandedverse

So in your character info sheet, you said that Connor was adopted by XD and that Drista was it's last creation, and in your fic you said XD was upset at Connor being trans due to that implying it could've made a mistake in its 'creation'.

Is XD just generally responsible for the characteristics of anyone born on the SMP, or am I misundertanding?

XD created connor - because he gave connor a human form. connor was just a normal hedgehog before that
