Life hack: if you start EXU: Calamity at 14:04:18 (2:04:18 PM) on December 31st, you can experience the finale of the Avalir fireworks extravaganza at exactly midnight.
And then, if you really wanna set the tone, you can kick off your year by screaming into a pillow for the remaining ten hours of runtime!

Luis Carazo, master of pulling malicious entities into the mortal world, and master of keeping them out, and seeing the future while doing both.

If I had a penny every time Luis Carazo played a broken character reaching out and talking (negotiating) to a cosmic/horror/evil deity that ended up ripping open a rift between realities with its own two hands to try and come out of it on a Critical Role short season with a 6h30 long finale I'd only have 2 BUT IT'S WEIRD (EXHILARATING) THAT IT HAPPENED TWICE

THIRTEEN MONTHS of my real human life were spent writing this fic. i cannot believe it's done and out in the world. i hope you enjoy 27k of zerxus living a life after the divine gate comes down and he breaks free of his pact with asmodeus.
"Vasselheim stands tall. The Betrayer Gods are, once again, defeated and shunted from the Material Plane. The Divine Gate is constructed. A thousand years later, the Calamity comes to an end. When the last spell is woven into the Gate and divinity is forever sequestered away — Zerxus Ilerez wakes, gasping and horned, a mortal man on the Material Plane."

Someone drop Brennan's PayPal so I can bill that man for the emotional damage he caused with EXU: Calamity.
Like. Fuck. He. Did. Not. Need. To. Do. That.

At work, very bored.
I don't suppose anyone would be interested in throwing questions about Ariadne (my Azem) at me?
I'll also take questions about any of the random stuff I'm working on (Ruins of Avalir D&D campaign, Circle of the Ceaseless Watcher, etc)

How much do you think it galled Asmodeus that despite his threat to "shatter [Domunas'] teeth," Laerryn through the Astral Leywright was the one to actually do it as part of banishing Rau'shan and Ka'Mort?

EXU Calamity is a cautionary tale for people who think they don’t need to explain why they are doing what they’re doing.
