Well, see now I'm just

fucking upset about Solar Flare too.

This

ROBOT

because that's what he was, an entity guided solely by his programming, to protect Killcode, who had begun to experience sentience. He's not an animatronic, he's a body with programming who's controlled by his directives that has only just begun to understand life. and maybe, MAYBE he understood, maybe it was more than just code at the end. The way he talked, he had a deeper understanding beyond what his programming told him, you know? But he was still driven by his code.

Solar Flare who, from his introduction on the 6th of February to his first 'death' on the 8th of March, was around for a little over a month.

Solar Flare, who was presumed dead by most, all the way up until it was revealed he had sunk his claws into living because of his one purpose on June 17th, THREE MONTHS AFTER HIS 'DEATH'.

Solar Flare whose introduction episode was prefaced with a message addressing how people didn't like all the new characters. THAT was his introduction, THAT was what he was paired with.

Solar Flare who appeared in only THREE episodes before he was killed the first time, and SIX OVER THE COURSE OF THE ENTIRE SHOW. Who had the same amount of fucking screen time as fucking GARBAGE GUY.

A character who is, arguably, one of the least important on the show. Created as a tool for someone else, and treated like an enemy by most everyone

IS THE ONE WHO ULTIMATELY HAD THE LARGEST PART TO PLAY IN KILLING WHAT IS ARGUABLY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTERS ON THE SHOW.

And in doing so, he sacrificed himself. He knew he would die.

And he FUCKING

accepted it. Gently. No fighting. A character who had only just begun to experience life and self, graciously accepted it was his time and attempted to get Eclipse to accept it as well. He tried to give Eclipse a sort of peace in the end, as well.

I just...

Why do these animatronics keep runnin' out of breath? Who synthesized lungs for them?

"It has been awhile." It sure has! If I'm not mistaken, Killcodes last appearance was in the episode 'Killcode HAS A BODY!? in VRCHAT' which aired on May 19th, 42 days ago! Killcodes been out helping folks, workin at soup kitchens and perhaps repairing Moon's less than stellar reputation.

I'm very happy Killcode's had such a nice turn around.

Him pretending to drink tea is adorable.

He's so kind now! He really is taking advantage of this new life he's been given. God damn. Preparing an extra serving for someone else, even though he can't actually drink? Because "you never know who might stop by"? That's... such a wonderful outlook on life. He can't even drink the tea but he still makes two because it's the experience that matters.

I'm also happy for him.

That makes sense to me. The star's power is mostly magical in nature, according to Golden Freddy. Magic seems like a more abstract material/concept in the Fnafreacts Verse so... Like, it's imbuing. Which sounds like what Old Moon probably did to make it in the first place. As long as you have a physical container you can put the magic inside it. There's probably no limit on what that could be. Could be a shard of wood or a living animatronic.

I always thought that the star was indestructible because of the sheer power of the thing, but it occurs to me as of this episode it's indestructible because Old Moon made it that way.

As of today, July 7th 2023, it has been 82 days since 'The DEATH of LUNAR in VRCHAT' episode (April 17th, 2023), and 72 days since the 'Lunar's RESSURECTION in VRCHAT' (April 27th, 2023) episode. 2 and a half months.

Today in the Monty Gator and Foxy show, Puppet finally launched a rocket and began his journey out to Monty's space station to retrieve him.

The return of the true villain of the series: That one fuckin bouncy, physics defying plush cylinder in the theater.

The music change had me wheezing, the fucking dramatic chase music for this bouncy toy.

Followed by all three of them legitimately walking around trying to catch the damn thing.

I'd love to see an episode where they have a discussion, like a serious discussion or something in the theater, and someone throws the toy and it just bounces around forever while they're having a serious talk, and it's played completely straight the thing is bouncing and no one addresses it or tries to catch it this is wishful thinking but the idea had me laughing so hard i forgot hwo to use punctuation

It's strange seeing how... kind? The creator is towards Earth. Like, he's always been kinder to Earth than he has been to Sun or Moon or Killcode, but it's still weird. Like, he lets her decorate her room and got her movies in preparation for her activation, and doesn't get upset when she calls him father, and he's gentle when he asks her to leave them at the end.

I like... whatever is going on between Garbage Guy and the Creator. Like, GG is so annoyed with the Creator, but he's speaking so casually to him? Exasperated with the Creators antics. They're like... a goddamn sitcom couple or something. The Creator gives no shits about this guy's irritation. They remind me of Chatot and Wigglytuff from PMD:EoS.

So, Earth was activated around November-December 2022, during the Bloodmoon arc. She showed up in... April? I think? Late March, early April? Though she said she got lost trying to find the daycare/Sun and Moon, so she left/was sent away from the Creator sometime just before that.

Also, whos they? Fazbears? Sun and Moon? Some third party? Why would they get shut down? I may have missed something. I assume it's Fazbear's inc the two of them are talking about.

Earth raising her hand to ask questions.

They have a connected background??? The Creator got the garbage can stuck on this guys head?? Did he make him immortal too, or did he just get hired because he was immortal? What's the dealio with these two?

Earth out here being very right about the Barbie Rapunzel movie too, that magic paintbrush was banger, I wanted one too.

This episode was fuckin' fun. So many good quotes, I was laughing the WHOLE time. Also we might have a set up/ worldbuilding for the Creator's enemies and also more Creator and Garbage Guy stuff. Still wondering if he's dead. StG Killcode mentioned putting him to eternal rest at one point.

Also the thumbnail, again the thumbnail! IT's so pretty! The details are amazing, I wish I could look at them closer somewhere. Do we know yet who does them? I've seen suggestions in the comments of both videos featuring art so far that these new ones are done by Kiwi_Artz, but they aren't credited in the descriptions and they haven't post the thumbnails on Twitter anywhere. :(

I feel like this will most likely be the last calm episode before the 16th. This feels like a 'calm before the storm' situation and I cANNOT wait. 9 days till the 16th, that's probably 4-6 lore episodes/ 5-6 VRCHAT episodes, presuming anything is going to happen on the 16th. I'm both not ready for it, and 100% ready for it.

Wawawa you're fine! I love reading your thoughts about the show. You always have great takes so it's always a treat to read! Honestly you are completely correct that both Sun and Moon have too much problems to work through alone. Like they're getting better, but if someone doesn't intervene soon something is going to happen that might actually cause unfixable damage.

I can't help but wonder if part of New Moon's improvement in the emotions department has to do with Earth. Like it's a given that the old Moon didn't know how to deal with social issues at all, but honestly considering how he came to be it's surprising he wasn't worse off. The newer Moon though had a much more tolerant beginning. Sure it sucked that he literally woke up just to find out that he has a lot of problems to look forward to, but at least he had a supportive family (even if he didn't know them) to help him get his footing. I feel like that helped Moon a lot in being able to process things and helped him have a more healthy mindset. Earth probably led to a good chunk of the positive coping skills. Moon knows Earth is probably the most emotionally intelligent of them all so why not try to emulate some of her caring nature though emulating can only do so much if you're still clueless on the emotional cues :')

Also thank you for saying the part where the old Moon and Sun really didn't know each other as well as they thought they did. I've always sort of had that thought in the back of my mind but I never really gave it much thought, and now I'm sad thinking about how Sun really never got to know old Moon personally before he got erased. Sure the newer Moon is basically the same just reset but there are certain things that the old Moon experienced that the new one will never truly get because it didn't happen to him.

As for the name choice, Spigot is what Lunar named the toy reindeer he got for Christmas :) Also for your consideration, Cherrim for Sun.

I’m so glad folks like my deep dives! Everyone has been so kind in my comments n stuff, I appreciate that a lot, it makes me really happy. I love seeing other people’s long posts too when I pop into the various SaMs tags. It’s always interesting to see how someone perceived an episode differently than I did, I always end up being like ‘I thought that too!’ or ‘I didn’t even notice that!’ when I read other people’s stuff. It’s great, my favorite part of this. :D

It’s… a weird situation. Moon’s reset, even though it happened months ago at this point, has thrown a wrench in the situation.

Old Moon? Yes. Old Moon had a LOT of issues he needed to work through. Had he not been reset, I think he’d be at a breaking point right now right alongside Sun, if he wasn’t actively pushing Sun towards one. Or both.

New Moon is… well, I don’t think we’ve really gotten any sort of indication that he’s having trouble reconciling with the reset. In fact, I don’t think we’ve gotten ANYTHING in regards to how New Moon feels about the reset. I did SAY that in the previous post but it was more me waxing poetic and less concrete proof has been provided that he’s struggling with any emotional turmoil due to the reset. At most, maybe he’s stressed with all the stuff that he’s dealing with all at once?

Like, yeah, he’s annoyed and disturbed by the actions of Old Moon and he thinks Old Moon was a dick but like… does he see that as himself? As a different person? Does he ever think about it at all? Is it on his mind a lot, or is it just something he’s reminded of sometimes? Like, Old Moon is just some guy to him people bring up, or whose stuff he has to sort through sometimes. We’ve gotten nothing as far as I can remember. I don’t think we have any perspective on how New Moon sees the reset at all. We don’t know at all. NOTHING. Which is funny because I really did think, well this was such a huge event for us and for the show, there’s gotta be something unresolved there for New Moon but… I don’t know? It feels more like, considering the way he’s reacted when Sun has brought up stuff Old Moon has done… Like, when Sun talks about stuff Old Moon to New Moon did he says things like, ‘you used to do’ or ‘you did before’ or ‘when old you’ and New Moon always just kinda seems to go ‘huh’ or get quiet, sometimes correcting Sun ‘well I can’t do that now’ and then the conversation moves on. At the very least he must know Sun sees it as Old Moon or previous version of Moon and New Moon or current version of Moon. I can see that causing some contention no matter how New Moon perceives Old Moon in relation to himself.

He’s stressed out because he’s juggling a lot of plates right now, for sure. I mean, he was basically just born and now he’s trying to save the world from six different angles, on top of re-learning/learning everything for the first time. I’d be a little irritable too. But I think that that’s it. He’s at most annoyed and a little burnt out, but all that previous trauma is gone and it’s gone for good, if the most recent lore ep told us anything.

Suns isn’t. Obviously, lol. In fact he kinda called this out himself, that Moon just got to start over and Sun doesn’t. Which is going to cause contention from Suns side.

It’s a mess.

Earth is a TREASURE. I love her. She’s a wonderful character and I’m so happy for her inclusion in the show. She fits so well into Sun and Moon’s dynamic, she’s like a piece that was always missing that no one knew about. Had I more time, I’d talk about her for awhile, because she’s such a sweetheart.

But I agree with literally everything you said in the paragraph about her and Moon. I couldn’t say it better myself. Her being around to help contextualize New Moon’s formative experiences alongside Sun has definitely been a massive factor in his changes.

It makes me curious about her relationship with the creator. The Creator refers to her as daughter and Sun and Moon as mistakes (Though he also talks about her as an object, much like he does the others, tools he created to do things. Even so, he is miles more respectful towards her than he is towards Sun and Moon). If she’s anything like Sun and Moon she was ‘raised’ in the sense that she had programs written into her, but her experiences after she turned on were what shaped her current personality. She is SO MUCH MORE well adjusted than Sun and Moon. Does he… love her? She refers to him as father and is defensive about his actions towards Sun and Moon, she took care of him. It makes me super interested to leanr even more about her ‘childhood’ so to say.

I like Earth.

There’s a lot to grieve about in regards to New Moon. I know a lot of folks were holding onto the idea that perhaps there was a way to return Moon’s memories and I’ll admit I was one of those people. But with what amounts to a concrete confirmation from Golden Freddy alongside just the fact that it happened at all, I think it’s safe to say that Old Moon, ALL of Old Moon is gone. There’s more to say about it, but that’s a longer discussion for a different post.

I did not remember that detail about the reindeer for Lunar! That’s perfect. Also how did I not think of Cherrim for Sun?? It’s literally the perfect Pokemon for him! It’s whole gimmick is the sun AND it’s rays look like petals just like Sun’s rays, I LOVE that. Perfect perfect perfect.

Also, beep beep, ty to everyone for your nice comments and stuff in the tags, I see them and I appreciate them. I love that everyone loves this show. It's fun to do these little deep dive reaction posts. :)

RIGHT OFF THE BAT WE START OFF WITH SUN INSISTING MOON DOES NOT HAVE TO LEAVE

This was kind of what I was talking about in the last post. Sun does not have the confidence to ask for what he NEEDS. He knows what he needs. He needs Moon to STAY right now. He's pulling every excuse out in the book. He's trying to frame it as 'Maybe Moon doesn't really want to go.' which isn't going to work because yes Moon does. He's trying to frame it as 'Maybe Eclipse isn't really a problem' which isn't true. He's talking about the length of time. Framing it as being "A month of not being in your life."

Sun kind of DOES touch on the issue, mentioning that he'll be alone, which had to be INCREDIBLY difficult, just that one word, you know? Because even one word opens up the possibility of the question 'Are you okay?' and then the horses are out, you know?

He's desperate at this point to get Moon to stay here, dropping every explanation he can to try and convince Moon to stay but the only thing that's going to get Moon to stay is him saying, 'Moon I Need You To Stay Right Now'

Which SUUUUUUCKS

At this point I don't think Moon COULD put off going and getting the stuff for the satellite. He's right too. They don't know what Eclipse is up too and his disappearance is MUCH more concerning than if he was around being a nuisance. They also probably run the risk of being found out if they wait too long. They also now have Jigsaw locked up in the arcade (which, aren't there like, customers? How... why... there's... anyways)

But I'm sure if Sun SAID something, Moon would take a moment and re think it, maybe try and plan a way, bring him with or set up a method of communication. Time dilation or otherwise.

It does sounds a little bit like Moon is using this as a break which is something I did touch upon before, that Moon and Earth can't be constantly holding Sun up or they're going to get exhausted themselves. Something that may inadvertently affect Sun if they take said exhaustion out on him. Which happened last episode so that's a very likely possibility.

I am glad he's taking a break. They need it. This is just really BAD timing. It's nobody's fault. It just sucks.

2. Who is your most hated character?

There aren't any character I really hate on the show! The story progression of every character interests me, and how they interact with each other, and I really do love each and every one of them. All the funky secondary characters, all the AU characters, even the ones we only get mentions of or hear in the backgrounds of episodes, like Nice Eclipses Sun and Moon bring their own theories and discussions with them. Even characters I'm impartial to I don't really hate? I'm just more like 'eh' when they show up at best and cringing at worst.

As I have to pick one, however, Lord Monty or the Garbage Can Guy. Didn't really care for them, and nothing in recent episodes has pulled my interest for them.

6. Who is your least favorite villian?

Hatsune Miku! :D Drop kicking her into space.

10. Who is your least favorite AU character?

Do the Rainbow Friends count as AU characters? I'm never all that interested in crossover episodes with different franchises, so any of those characters (AKA The Rainbow Friends, Wally Darling, ect.)

Otherwise, Lord Monty.

24. What is your all time favorite episode?

What if I said skibidi toilI'm very partial to the 'Minecraft But THE UGLIEST TEXTURE PACK with SUN and MOON'. I go back and watch that episode often, probably the only one I've purposefully pulled up to watch multiple times. It's just a fun, cute episode.

I also really like the one chunk Minecraft challenge episodes, for the same reason.

32. What is your most favorite plot-focused "in VR-CHAT" episode?

OOOOOOOOOOF. This is such a hard quessstion. Nearly half the episodes on the channel are VR-CHAT episodes and very few of those are not plot-focused/lore episodes. (465 vids, 188 VRCHAT Eps) And since all the lore episodes are connected, picking just one from a set of episodes is REALLY difficult for me, because I tend to look at groups of episodes as a whole, rather than individually.

You've got the interview and the episode right after in the bunker. I'm a bit nostalgic for those, the animations and animatics of those two episodes folks did is what drew me to the show.

You've got Eclipse showing up to infect Moon and the introduction of Lunar.

October. Just... All of October.

The Death of Eclipse, Sun and Moon's Secret Sister, Bloodmoon is Shut Down, The Trapping Episode, How Sun Met Moon, Killcode and Moon's Final Conversation, Moon's DEATH, LUNAR'S DEATH, Moon's return, Sun and Moon's New Enemy, Original Moon Returns, Eclipse is Dying, Earth Confronts Eclipse. Over 100 episodes to choose from, there are SO many good ones, and we're still fuckin going!

If I had to narrow it down to one that I personally like, Just One, I think I'd go with 'Sun LEARNS MAGIC!? in VRCHAT'.

It's... I'm always a sucker for the 'person pushed over the edge gains incredible powers because of their emotions' trope. That alone made the episode sing for me. I'm pretty sure I whooped in real life when Sun broke out of that cage.

Alongside that, it's the first appearance of hallucination Bloodmoon. It's the follow up to 'Sun is TRAPPED by Moon in VRCHAT' which is another beast of an episode that I like for different reasons. It's retroactively the beginning of the end for Old Moon, the episode where he makes the decision to follow Eclipses plan to go in and eradicate Killcode for good. The last time Eclipse and Old Moon spoke to one another, their final interaction before the reset. I personally love the interactions between Old Moon and Eclipse in this episode, it feels like they're playing chess with each other. "Energy Spike Detected!" Sun's reaction to seeing 'Bloodmoon'. "I SAW it. You... You DISENTEGRATED. Into ash! Atoms."

"SHUT UP!"

It felt like a turning point in the show. It set up SO many plot points, some of which are still being delved into and going back and watching it again after all this time and noticing the little details, like the way Eclipse says goodbye to Old Moon, or the way Sun tries and assure himself that 'Bloodmoon' isn't real. It's...

It's a really good episode.
