Miss Chappell has introduced me to the world of Cicely Mary Barker's, the artist who created the Fairyopolis book she showed yesterday before her Osheaga concert. I've always drawn inspiration from vintage elements, and was delighted to see her art inspired her outfit. As I delved into her magical botanical illustrations with eagerness, I knew I had to make a piece inspired by her work to match Chappell as one of her own fairies.

Table-top role-playing games, and entertaining books of knowledge, secrets, & pop-ups can entertain kids of many ages for the holidays, but... be cautious with the fancier books, to keep them in good order.
Why does wishful seeker use Futhorc runes, is she a norse pagan??
NOPE
I use these runes because when I was 7 years old I found a dragonlogy book at the flee market for 5 dollars that had the Futhorc runes translated in it because they claimed it was dragon language and your girl fucking loves dragons and kid like nostalgia. So here we are.
Any non-Disney books about fairies that you could recommend?
I'm not sure if you meant story-driven novels that feature fairy characters or more like fairy field-journal types, but I don't actually have many of either outside of Disney Fairies, to tell the truth!
I do have a copy of The Girl's Book of Flower Fairies.
My friend @spillthejam recommends Fairyopolis: a Flower Fairies Journal.
As for novels, I know she enjoys the Wings series by Aprilynne Pike, and says Holly Black's books also feature fairies? I remember that I've read and enjoyed the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr, though it's been years. I should actually give those a re-read...
Okay, she keeps sending me different titles, so I'm gonna let her reblog this with her additions if she's feeling magnanimous and helpful. I don't know how to recommend books I haven't personally read!
Tell me everything there is to know about your bluey ocs
OKAY OKAY so like. a lot of this is gonna be based on the Kids themselves and occasional bits about the adults because aaAAA
ginger's middle name is renée
she goes to a theatre camp for kids after school! that's where she met her friends millicent (aka millie, a cavapoo who's dougie's older sister) and tobias (aka tobi, an australian shepard)
ginger has various nicknames, but the common one and the one she uses the most is ginny
ginny's parents have been divorced since she was 2 and she's currently 6! nadine and rex have been dating for a little over 2 years now
she's Generally new to bluey's school. she's not really good with other kids and prefers to read but she's been able to make some friends in her class
her best friend is judo! they met at the park and clicked instantly. ginger steps in to tell judo when she's being Too Much and judo helps ginny speak up for herself, besties fr fr
she has a special interest in fairies and fairytales! her favorite book of all time is "fairyopolis", it's like a field guide for flower fairies. her copy is servery worn but she loves it all the same
with the help of rex she has a "fairy door" set up by the willow tree in her backyard! she leaves lil treats and everything by it as thanks for the garden growing
rex's one sister holly is non-verbal, so the family picked up learning sign language. ginny's not too good at it but millie and dougie help her out if she has any questions or if she messes up a word
her bracelet is a stim toy! it's chewing beads! she had an awful problem of chewing on her arm when she was younger as a stim, so instead now she chews on the bracelet
tobi is an over dramatic child so whenever something goes wrong at camp he tends to "faint" or grab onto the closest kid nearby, which often tends to be either millie or ginny (ginger doesn't mind it, millie pushes him away)
millie, tobi, and ginny first met after getting put together for a group exercise on the first day of camp. it was! a little rocky at first but eventually they took their turns talking to each other instead of fighting and now they're the terrible three-some of camp
