rewatched some old mileapo interviews and I just find myself smiling every time mile retells his and apo's history because he tells it so excitedly with a huge smile on his face even though he probably told that story a hundred of times already. also I never realized that he said he watched apo's dramas before. he really is apo's biggest supporter 😩

Here's this perspective from a Thai fan who's been a fan for several years about Apo's career:

I wrote this because i saw some comments from interfans insult Apo about his famous in the past. As a thai fan for several years , I accepted that Apo is not superstar in thailand. And at that time, in previous company DID NOT EXPORT their soap opera/series, their focus market is in local thai only. But i can say that Apo is an artist IN TREND as always among hundreds artists in same company. And fandoms culture is not strong for Thai artist.

And i would like to top up a bit more that , he got a lot of choices from organizers asking to join their series especially action role which his outstanding talented , but because during that time he was studying in university.

So attend 2-3 series in a year might made him tough on time management.

In 2014-2018 under previous company contract , he was 11 filmography both main and support roles, 8-9 shows, >20 cover magazine. Also he was a model in several fashion shows. And his series still 2-3 times re-run until now.

His name&face still be remembered by wide ppl.

Hope all of my explanation can clarify you all on his famous.

Which makes it even more sad Apo felt pressured to quit an art he loves to make since the terrible working environment made him so unhappy, because it seemed like he was building a strong career for himself domestically and he was beloved by TV producers and fashion designers.

So we also really need to thank Mile for making sure KPTS stayed afloat because Apo really talked about KPTS like it was a last ditch effort in acting and would have left probably for another [permanent] hiatus if it had fallen through. Maybe would have returned much older like Ke Huy Quan did in EEAAO (not that age is a problem! just so many years of projects that wouldn't have happened...).

But what we should be really envious of is Mile's Y/N Wattpad fic life... "So like, I'm rich and smart and was a model and I met this hottie while modelling but I didn't know I liked guys then and then he became super famous but then he quit acting and then fate brought us back together again and now we are very cute and gross" 💀 if I didn't love Mile so much, I'd probably hate his fortune.....

And yeah, the way they both tell the story together in the early days of their casting relationship (e.g. Funday Show) is soooo different compared to even the way they tell the story even during Kinnporsche series promo as it was airing

There's one in particular I'm thinking of during KPTS promo where Mile talks about seeing Apo on the catwalk but being too shy to talk to him before Apo approaches him… (drop the link if you have it, I gotta run to a meeting in 5 minutes).

Yeah, Mile's enthusiasm for their first meet-cute story is so obvious from the start and he progressively remembers/reveals more and more details, while Apo's is initially more reserved but now super enthusiastic about it. As @sinnadreams pointed out, Apo in Funday was testing the waters while also making Mile work for it/chase him and now he is confident and secure and Mile is even more *continues to tell longer and longer versions of the same story*

It really feels like one of Those Couples Stories couples tell about themselves. I think you know what I mean if you know.

ToA Theory 1 - Apollo's Waking Visions

First official theory post, here we go! :D

Alright. So. After rereading The Dark Prophecy, I started wondering about something. In TDP, Apollo experiences waking visions, where he conks out for a bit and has prophetic visions.

I found this interesting because, well...isn't Apollo supposed to be cut off from prophecy? With Python back in control of Delphi?

Because think about it. Python controls Delphi, the root of all earthly prophecy. This would include Dodona, Trophonius, Herophile, and Sibyl - sure, they aren't strictly connected to Delphi, but it's pretty heavily stated that Delphi just straight-up Makes The Future. It's prophecies are The Big Deal and you Should Listen.

Meanwhile the other Oracles seem more guiding and "beware!" instead of "this is how it's gonna be".

(sidenote: found out there are MORE oracles and I wanna know WHERE THEY ARE IN RRVERSE CANON because I want my boy Branchus okay??? Okay. Branchus's oracle was second only to Delphi let's give Apollo's first boyfriend the attention he deserves!)

So of course, like all great members of this fandom, I started thinking.

Let's do a little family history first. ;)

Buckle up. We go down a deep rabbit hole 😎

Apollo and Artemis are twins, born to Leto and Zeus. Zeus's parents are Kronos and Rhea. Leto's are Koios and Phoebe.

Rhea has connections to Dodona, as we learn in-series, but she doesn't really seem to be all that involved with prophecy.

Her siblings, meanwhile...ho ho ho, they are a WHOLE NOTHER STORY!

Let's start with Phoebe. Phoebe, like all first generation Titans, is the daughter of Gaea and Ouranos. She married her brother Koios. Her children consist of Asteria, Lelantos, and Leto. As well as Artemis and Apollo, her other two grandchildren are Hecate (Asteria) and Aura (Lelantos).

Her name means "bright" and is the root of Apollo's most famous epithet - Phoebus. She is often described as "golden-crowned" and is the Titan of bright intellect, the overseer of Earthly Prophecies, and is the second guardian of Delphi, after her sister Themis. She gifted Delphi to Apollo for his birthday after he defeated Python.

Anyway. There's a bit of Phoebe lore. Time for her elusive husband :3

Koios. His names means "question" or "questioning", probably because he's the Titan of inquiring intellect. He's also the overseer of Heavenly Prophecies, and has an oracle up in the North Pole guarded by an earth-dragon - you'd know this serpent by the name of Draco, the constellation btw. Additionally, Hyperborea (where Apollo goes in the winter times) is part of his domain.

Unfortunately, we have very little mythological lore on these two, and even less in the RRverse (I cling to that one (1) Koios scene) which sucks because I love them already BUT it does give me lots of legroom to mess around with canon >:)

Back to the theory now. As you may have guessed, I'll be taking us in a direction concerning Apollo's mysterious grandparents. But what does this have to do with Apollo's visions?

Well. Remember when I mentioned that Delphi is the root of all earthly prophecies?

...look at Phoebe's paragraphs. She's the overseer of Earthly Prophecies, right? So it makes sense she's been affected by Python's takeover too.

Asteria, Apollo's aunt, is a little trickier. She, too, has a hand in divination, but mainly through the night/stars and dreams. <-will come back to that later.

Koios, again, is overseer of Heavenly Prophecies, and is heavily implied to be able to commune with Ouranos's spirit. This is, apparently, a Big Deal because nobody else is mentioned to be able to do this.

...Except...remember this throwaway line in The Hidden Oracle?

^Apollo can see Ouranos too.

Within this theory is a sub-theory, so to speak - that immortals with the gift of prophecy can see Ouranos, since they can see what cannot be seen. This would include Phoebe, Asteria, Koios, and Apollo.

And it'll make sense why they'd keep it to themselves. Kronos wouldn't have been happy to hear his dad was still around. Neither would Zeus, for that matter.

So here I was. Contemplating. Wrote a few fics based around this idea. And one in particular got me thinking (fic in question being When The Stars Align), and a little ways down the road I realized something.

If Phoebe, the overseer of Earthly Prophecies, would have been affected by Python's takeover...was Koios? Could he even be affected?

Because here's the deal: Koios is the overseer of Heavenly Prophecies. Prophecies from the Sky.

Phoebe's are of the Earth - the Earth that Python has taken control of. And Delphi is the root of Earthly Prophecies - not Heavenly.

That would be Koios's oracle, up in the North Pole with Draco.

...So that means Heavenly Prophecy must have still been in business during ToA.

But then comes the question: If it was still within the gods' control, why didn't they use it?

Well...Draco's there, for one. He's probably the Python-equivalent of the North, and clearly he's still there since no myth has spoken of his death (that I know of).

If you ask me, I just think the gods are too nervous/afraid to try Koios's oracle. They were too scared to face Python, after all, until Apollo arrived. I think they'd be scared of a serpent who comes and goes from the stars as he pleases.

And as for why Apollo hasn't done anything about it...well, I think his fight with Python left him rather scarred, don't you think? He probably went "yeah grandma's oracle is enough" and the only time he ever got close to Koios's was during his time in Hyperborea.

So getting back to the main theory now. (So many rabbit holes to dive into with this post. The ADHD Urge is real)

Since Heavenly Prophecies is still active, but Earthly is in Python's control, I conclude Apollo's visions come from the Heavenly source.

Could they have come from the now-working Dodona? Maybe. But Dodona's all about those windchimes and trees. It doesn't have the Vibe, so to speak, for granting visions.

And remember. Trophonius, Herophile, and Sibyl aren't destroyed/freed yet. They have Zero connection to Apollo at this point because Python cut him off from them.

...but he didn't from the North. From Koios's divine power.

Because remember. Apollo is the god of prophecy.

Not of Earthly Prophecies, like Phoebe.

Not of Heavenly Prophecies, like Koios.

Not of nighttime divination and dreams like Asteria.

Of. Prophecy.

Prophecy as a whole. The entirety. The whole enchilada.

Every part of prophecy he's the god of, be it tarot cards to the Oracle of Delphi itself.

In my opinion, I think whatever Koios's Oracle is, it has just as must power as Delphi. The only problem was that...everybody just left it be. Nobody considered it because:

1) scary dragon

2) scary titan ruled the place

3) honestly at this point I think it's just straight-up forgotten about. Like Branchus's Oracle. I think at one point Apollo himself mentions there are other Oracles besides the ones in-series, but there's so many that his mortal brain cannot comprehend how many.

If the Grove of Dodona nearly faded into obscurity, then I think it's entirely possible Koios's Oracle was forgotten about (or so we think...I'm gonna be chewing on this for a while.)

Coming back round to TDP...I think this is a reasonable explanation about Apollo's visions. To summarize:

Apollo is cut off from Earthly Prophecy, his usual source of foresight that he gets from Phoebe

The unused, near-forgotten-about Heavenly Prophecy side of Apollo ignites to steer him on the right path

This is possible because Apollo is the god of prophecy itself, and not a single subset of prophecy, so he's not limited in the same way Phoebe is

Koios's Oracle is still out there and kicking and I will die on this hill

One problem. What about Asteria? She can interpret the future from the stars...aka the Sky. Like Koios. So couldn't she provide some insight to the future, since she, too, is connected to Heavenly Prophecy?

This is where things get a lil' tricky. And where I really slap on my tinfoil hat and start headcanoning my way through lmao

Basically, I think that since Asteria became the island of Delos (long story) a good chunk of her power is ingrained there. She's not as strong as she used to be, so her foresight isn't as strong.

This, in turn, I think could also serve as a reason why Koios's Oracle is "asleep" so to speak and nearly lost to memory in the RRverse - in fact, I think Asteria and Phoebe are the only ones who bother to remember its existence.

And Leto, of course. But I don't think she wants her son to know of another Oracle with a giant snake guarding it. She's had enough heart-attacks, thank you.

(Same with Lelantos, tbh.)

TL;DR

Apollo's visions in TDP stem from Koios's source of Heaven Prophecy because Phoebe's source of Earthly Prophecy (Delphi) has been taken over by Python. Koios's source firmly knocks on Apollo's mental doors and decides to kick back into gear to help its titular patron's grandson out. Because Apollo is the god of prophecy itself - every bit of it.

Things in my Outsiders Au that I think about too much

Rasbi's sister didn't die during the war. She dies after it's over. The danger has passed, and she wanted to get married she was ready to live her life. They're at a celebration of peace, and everyone must have been so relieved. The death and destruction are over. Then, the princess and future queen is slaughtered in front of them.

Is Will dead? We see Eden's body, but I don't believe we see Will, and while Apo thinks he's dead, what if he's not? He would be so relieved that Apo made it out, maybe he's imagining what happy life he's found. Until he catches sight of a TV one day and sees his little brother plastered up on the screens in a death game. How very heartbreaking that Apo ended up in the maze to avenge his brother and inadvertently forcing his brother to watch him almost die over and over.

Do people ever cosplay as the Outsiders? Has Oeca had to face some kid dressed like him, an eye patch covering their face to match the one that has cursed him so much.

Did Kyle have family? Siblings, parents, or friends who watched hoping to see him make it out alive? Did he have people he gushed about Acho to? Were they excited to meet the boy who their friend to love so much only to finally see him stepping out of the elevator and into the maze?

Were any of the Outsiders fans of the show before becoming victims of it?

Do Anygels siblings see her differently after her time in the maze? Do her parents? No longer a frightened and kind child but a hardened and trained warrior. Someone who had to fight to survive and made it out, different but the same. Her siblings probably only think higher of her, but are her parents ever afraid.

Guts is a war criminal as bad as Owen, and that should be addressed more because while Owen was forced into the maze, Guts chooses to go because they're so guilty about what they did.

Can you imagine Rasbi's mother and father watching her befriend her sisters murder? Becoming best friends with each other, baking together, and seeing her place her life in his hands.

Do Squidney and Mohwee have no one on the outside, is it better or worse to know that no one watched in horror as you struggled to survive?

What happened to Mr. Chestscribe? Did he watch the show? Was he close to Rasbi?

Would the show try to get Soups brother in the next season? This question extends to Ayngels siblings or any of their family or friends. Are they all marked now by Starr because they knew people in the show?

Actually, how much power does Starr actually have? What strings do they have to pull to get 'interesting' prisoners like Owen. Can anyone sign up like Rasbi? How legal was it essentially buying Graecie off her Father? How much glory do you get for going in and being successful that Anygels family would force her or her far younger siblings into the maze?

Of all the Outsiders, I think Graecie and Struggles most with being famous.

Oeca loses his eye, Bekyamon her leg, and Apo his horns in the maze, so do they get medical attention? What about the lesser injuries like Owen's injured leg or the fact that Graecie was in a coma? Or at most, do they just do something surface level so all the paparazzi wanting to snap pictures can get a good shot and leave the Outsiders to lick their wounds when they're not their problem anymore?

I've come to the conclusion that, in my humble opinion, Higashide is the writer in TYPE-MOON who makes the best ships involving Heroic Spirits.

Which might sound really weird. After all, the central couple in Fate/Apocrypha is Sieg/Jeanne d'Arc, and it's a pretty divisive one. No offense to those who like it, but it's always a dynamic I thought made no real sense narratively and didn't have much chemistry. Sieg on his journey of self-affirmation and personhood didn't need a romance (except maybe with Astolfo, with whom the dynamic is much more fun). Jeanne, the historical figure who rejected a marriage proposal, wore male clothing, and whose famous nickname refers to her celibacy, getting into a romance just never vibed with me (especially when it felt like the parallels/relationship between her and Shirou Kotomine were far more relevant). Add to that the ending copying Last Episode without what made LE have a strong impact, and it makes the whole even less appealing.

But despite that, Apo is also the work where there is the surprising ship of Shirou Amakusa and Queen Semiramis of all people: the semi-legendary Assyrian queen credited with making one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world falling in love with the young charismatic Japanese Christian who rebelled against the shogunate and failed. It's a very strange crossover ship between two people who never could have met if not for being brought back and it somehow works in being endearing.

(Achilles and Atalanta kinda count I guess, but it's a one-sided ship with little reasoning, that I care so little about, and is eclipsed by the more compelling foils each get, Chiron for Achilles, Jeanne for a Jackie the Ripper-driven mad Atalante.)

Higaside having grown and improved as a writer by the time of FGO, what followed this growth was him not doing a repeat of Sieg/Jeanne, but writing better ships mostly involving Servants. Asterios the Minotaur and Euryale the Gorgon; last Byzantine emperor Constantine IX and fictional Popess Johanna; heck, you can even see the relationship between Mordred and Dr. Jekyll this way (it also works as simple close friendship). Being characters from usually completely different mythologies and historical cultures, there is care done to make it clear why they fall for each other and as a result these couples are very different from one another instead of being the same formula everytime. In a game where a lot of (female) Servants are made to fall for the last Master of Chaldea for sometimes very little reason, these are a breath of fresh air.

For all my problems with her, Sakurai does something similar, though her ships are usually people who canonically were together in their legends: Sigurd/Brynhild, Aslaug/Ragnar Lodbrok, Julius Caesar/Cleopatra, Ozymandias/Nefertari, Tomoe Gozen/Kiso Yoshinaka, etc. They can be one note and there is a repeated thematic tendency of hers of writing "inhuman woman discovering humanity by falling in love", but they tend to be very cute and I easily understand that these people are in love even beyond death, so I root for them to reunite. Higashide also has "canonical" pairings, but the results are more muddled here: Siegfried and Kriemhild are adorable as a divorced couple where there are clearly still feelings, no matter what the tsundere wife says. But Rama and Sita are just...there. I understand the point of their separation, but it's not very engaging and Rama essentially disappeared after the American Singularity, while Sita was yeeted to Arcade. A mark against Higashide, but not as bad as Sieg/Jeanne and overshadowed by the numbers of better ships he wrote in FGO.

And there's Orion and Artemis, where I'm split. Super Orion and LB Artemis was really good and poignant. Orion the teddy bear and ditzy Artemis are a realy bad joke that overstayed its welcome.

FGO prioritizes Master/Servant relationships, both because the last Master of Chaldea is a blank slate for players to self insert into, and also because human×Servant is the type of ship Nasu specializes in (Shirou/Saber, Rin/Saber, Kuzuki/Caster, Caren/Angra Mainyu, and to a lesser extent Bazett/Cu, Yukika/False Assassin, and Ayako/Medusa in FSN; Fate/Extra as a whole; Ritsuka/Castoria in FGO). But even there Higashide made better choices than when he penned Sieg/Jeanne. Charlotte Corday is a surprisingly well-done choice for her archetype, it seems like it's going to be another Kiyohime but no, he actually makes her a good character you get attached to.

And then there is Kadoc and Anastasia. Words cannot describe how much I love them, how their personalities clash and complement each other in the best way, how aesthetically good they look put next to each other, etc. And it's not even just that we got a MasterxServant relationship outside Ritsuka, though that helped.

Basically, Higashide has become my go-to source for good ships, especially intra-Servants ones where Ritsuka is not involved and characters are allowed to not orbit around their Master. Sakurai also provides in that last aspect, but Higashide is doing that and also giving that crossover flavor you see in things like that one Cartoon Network ad with Johnny Bravo and Velma, and that works really well for me.

Never has "Man Suang" been marketed as anything other than a cultural/period film. While the main actors became famous through another genre (which they're actively trying to change for the better), it's sad how some people ignore the official promotion and assume there's going to be elements of anything else. Criticizing the film as not having enough of "ABC" (ex. explicit romance) when there wasn't any focus on that in the first place is very insulting to the actors and their message. The fetishization of queer media in Asia needs to stop. Limiting a fictional work and artists to MLM/WLW categories, etc. does more harm if there's no focus on it to begin with.

Apo: I think the key is that you must not see it as a BL film. Mile: Otherwise, your imagination will be ruined or limited since the beginning. Apo: I always tell myself that it's not normal to classify WLW, MLM, or whatever. [...] If we see it naturally, anything is possible. People living together would want to develop their relationships. I see it as a couple wanting to develop their relationship. That's why Kinn and Porsche happened. It's not just who Kinn and Porsche are, or who the other characters are. [...] Mile: [mentions having watched "Brokeback Mountain" and "Bangkok Love Story" as a youth and as an adult] "So, I got some ideas (assumptions). If you have your own judgement before seeing the film, you might lose out on some valuable content. Apo: Well, if we're being honest, I think most people still don't accept BL. It's about generations. People in the past, like the ones in "Man Suang"--Khem, for example, loves being himself. He believes in himself. However, at the time, he was just a commoner. He couldn't express his thoughts freely. He couldn't be what he wanted to be. He couldn't come out. When the generation is changing and people are trying to understand, BL is one of the things they're trying to understand. But when it's called BL, the acceptance is [...] limited. Spend weeks getting inked at Buscalan Tattoo Village in Tinglayan Kalinga.

Home to the butbut tribe and the world famous Apo Whang-Od (or Fang-Od), the last mambabatok. Before, "Batok" [the traditional hand-tapped Filipino tattoo] is primarily given to headhunters as a symbol of honor for protecting villages or for killing enemies. Given that headhunting and tribe wars are just stories of the past, this sacred art of tattooing has now become part of Buscalan's various attractions.

Prior to my trip, I made prior arrangements with a local guide in Buscalan. I've been planning for so long to get an arm sleeve tattoo etched on my skin made by her apprentices and the signature 3 dots from Apo Whang Od. It is something that I considered as a legendary trademark and not everybody will have the opportunity to be tattooed by her. She is a 106 years old already. Time is flying. I need to get that tattoo. So the moment I felt that rush, I immediately but carefully planned a trip there.

One of Thailand's best known landmarks and named after the Hindu god Aruna.

The temple has existed since the 17th Century, stretching back to the Ayutthaya era but it's most celebrated feature, the giant central Prang (spire) was constructed in the nineteenth century and was completed in the year ManSuang is set.

The spire represents the mythological sacred mountain, Mount Meru and the four smaller prangs that form a square around it are dedicated to Phra Phai, the wind god.

The prangs are decorated with shards of porcelain and tropical snail shells which give it an iridescent glow when the sun hits it.

The temple was once home to the famous Emerald Buddha, the sacred image of Thailand. It was placed there by the man who would become Rama 1 but when he shifted his capital over the river and had the Grand Palace built, the Emerald Buddha was taken and placed in the newly built Wat Phra Kaew, which stands in the grounds of the Grand Palace.
