Hello there!

Some time ago, I asked if anyone would be interested in a SHCO/SHTA fanweek.

The post got more attention than anticipated, and I am happy to announce that a fanweekend is on the way!

The event is planned for the second May weekend ( May 10 - May 12) this year.

The theme of the event has not been decided yet, but I will start a poll soon so we can all decide on the theme together 😊

Last but not least, the event will not focus on SHCO/SHTA only. Fans of the older games are very welcome to participate as well!

Skærbæk Designer Space Race Collaboration by Markus Rollbühler Via Flickr: Skaerbaek Fanweekend 2017 was just a week ago and marked the perfect time to bring the concept of space racing back – and open it up to more people. I was able to convince several colleagues of mine to come together in a space race collaboration, each submitting at least one racer to the whole layout. You can find all their racers in this overview. Each racer has been designed by a LEGO product designer from a variety of themes. Not all of them have flickr but I will link the ones that have. Hope you like it, it was awesome to get so many to participate! :)

As previously announced, I would now begin taking suggestions for the 3 themes of the next FW Sherlock Holmes Fanweekend! The themes which didn’t make the cut last time will be included as well! They were:

Time off

Disguise

Roommate troubles

A long trip

Music

Past / present / future (as one theme of the three)

However, it would be nice if we got more themes to pick from. This is where you come in!

Hello, froggies!

First things first: as you remember, I started a poll a few days ago to determine the frequency of our event. I was quite surprised to see that the absolute majority voted for twice a year/ every six months!

Thank you a lot for voting and helping me make this decision! The next FW Sherlock Holmes Fanweekend will be scheduled for November 2024 - I will let you know the exact dates a bit later.

Second things second: I will rename the event from „fanweek“ to „fanweekend“. It doesn’t roll off the tongue as nicely, but it’s a more accurate description 🤭

And last but not least: I know some people struggled with the theme „family“ - ngl, I struggled a little, too 🥲. I decided that the second event should have three themes instead of one - one for each day, so to speak.

However, there will be no theme-days: you can share your contribution(s) to the theme(s) of your choice during the whole event and regardless of the day. And of course, you can participate with as many creations as you want to. The idea behind having multiple themes is to give everyone more freedom to create something they like and not to restrict them 😄

I will start taking suggestions for the themes soon, and then create a poll. This will happen in a separate post, though.
