I had already used the same location near my home to show a canoe falling into the waterfall. But I wanted to take the storytelling a step further and feature a team of unhappy pirates who had made the wrong choices and were about to lose their entire fortune!
I'd like to take this opportunity to share some behind-the-scenes footage with you ;)
Where did I get the idea for my biggest MOC? After watching @brodan_gundam video about GN Arms Type D, I think it would be cool to make something based on the idea.
In order to attach the Atlas to the Mobile Armour, it took me a while to put together the attachment system. The very original design would make Atlas lay flat, but the structure was very loose and off balance. So I changed the entire thing more vertically thanks to the new attachment mechanism. I would love to make lids for the missile launching box, but with this scale, it is hard to put on more details without looking strange.
I am happy to finally find a way to hand the blade on the MA, so the theoretically, Unit 01 could still hold it after disconnecting with the MA.
Compared to the original, there are more thrusters with more energy tanks. Also, I added some small thrusters, which ideally are for more delicate move.
So, that is it for now. If there are more pieces, crazy ideas, or sudden clicks in my mind, I might be able to modify it more down the road.
P.S. Would any one is interested at the tutorial for the MA? It will be quite a challenge to reverse though🥹🥹😂😂. However, if you guys are into it, I will do my best to make it for you. Let me know!
Deep in a peaceful valley, ‘Detonator Dan’, a ruthless bandit, had his hidden refuge. Inside his cabin, he tightly held a bundle of dynamite sticks.
With determination etched on his face, he knew their explosive power could shatter the valley's calm. As he pondered his next move, Dan understood that chaos could be unleashed with a single spark.
(I am so mad I caught the CC sizing issue a fraction too late but I am not re-rendering this, TikTok's video editor is a curse, forgive me)
I continue to be fascinated with games as toys and toys as games. I'm very new to Lego as a hobby (I only learned of 'AFOL' as an acronym for Adult Fan of Lego in the last 4 months) but more than builds I love the customisation of minifigures.
They are, in a way that Funko Pops aren't, a basic form that manages to be so expressive in its variations and designs.
Using them as figures in tabletop games makes me think of the opening cutscene in Smash Bros 64 where Master Hand turns the toys to life with a snap of the fingers.
My latest release as a designer was a randomised roll table that I've been using as prompts for designing cyberpunk miniatures, called The Blacklight Sprawl (you can get it for free!). I've previously documented my kitbashing a miniature using it, but I also wanted to apply it in other ways, hence the above.
If you ever decide to use The Blacklight Sprawl in anything, please do tell me about it! Knowing that others have found use in the things you make is what makes designing worth it.
I designed this one to be mechanical but don’t want it to be mechanically cold. Yellow hues here complement well with the need, which gave the mecha vibrant characters.
I think more weapon options can be developed, which could become my future project on Unit 01.
And it's time for another amazing #legohaturday hosted by a few awesome people!
