Poor air quality and Pollution, flooding, fires, here v in Australia we have seen all these things in the post few years, worse than any of us has ever seen. The climate is already damaged. We need to do what we can you prevent more harm. In our everyday lives we make choices that affect not just us, but the entire planet. From the car you drive to the food you eat. These choices seem obvious in helping the climate crisis. But what about the clothes you wear? Fast fashion is one of the biggest contributors to climate change. Yet we don't think about the climate when we look at our wardrobes. Let's do what we can at home to make a difference by choosing slowly fashion, second hand, and sustainable materials. Some facts: 1) The fashion industry is the 2nd biggest polluter in the 🌎. 2) 80% of garment workers are womxn, and the majority of these womxn are forced to work in dangerous conditions (remember the #ranaplazadisaster?) and for criminally low wages (how you think that Forever 21 shirt is only $7 🤨?) 3) Climate change disproportionately affects womxn (they are at greater risk of poverty with less job security/resilience). SO, this #SecondhandSeptember, we encourage you to think twice before buying new, ask your fav brands #WhoMadeMyClothes, buy locally made goods by #womxnartists!
