If you had asked me to be in a picture with a pig at any other point in my life, I would’ve said “no.” It would’ve been a double no if I knew I’d be sitting down, because I would’ve feared people slinging fatphobic insults at me just from being in a pig picture. Now? I’ve made enough recovery progress to the point where I no longer feel shame when I’m subjected to fatphobic insults. Instead, I now understand that fatphobia is a cultural problem that manifests through individual actors, and perpetuating that is a moral failure on their part. I’m so grateful that I’m now able to enjoy the beauty and cuteness of pigs without fear, reluctance, or hesitation.🐷🐖🐽 And it’s yet another benefit of embracing my own beauty/cuteness.💖🖤💅 Plus, I did it in a sick pastel goth outfit.🌸💀

This is about healing my relationship with myself, my fat body, and my ability to appreciate pigs as beautiful in their own right. People - especially/often thin people - don’t realize how much fat people are forced to associate animals like pigs and cows with fatphobia simply due to others being mean to us. I’m celebrating the fact that I feel secure and confident enough to not only see pigs as cute, but actually be featured in a picture with one as well despite knowing the risks. #SwimxFatty Are you larger than a size 26 and feel left out of the conversation in “Sexy” swim wear? As if, once you hit size 24, that’s it, “sexy” has left the building?
