Sakura: Maybe. At any rate, I wish we could come see you more often. But with you being Hokage and with my work at the hospital …

Kakashi, shifting baby to his shoulder: It’s alright; makes these moments all the more important, eh?

Sakura: It does. So you took the day off today, huh?

Kakashi: Yeah. Nothing much to do, really. *points at his desk* I’ve got a stack of papers to go through but I convinced Shikamaru that it was something I could just do at home. Need some time out of that office.

Sakura: You also need a good meal, Sensei. You’re looking a lot thinner since the last time I saw you. When’s the last time you had something decent to eat?

Kakashi: Eh … I usually eat cup ramen while I’m at work, and by the time I get home I’m too tired to eat anything.

Sakura: Well, I’m off tonight, and so are you. Come to my house and I’ll make us something good!

Kakashi: I don’t want to bother you …

Sakura: It’s not a bother, dad! If you don’t stop with that, I’ll wake up Sarada and let her cry in your ear! That’ll teach you to —

Kakashi: D-did you call me … dad?

Sakura, blushing hard: N-n-no! You must be hearing things! I — I —

Kakashi: *starts to cry* You didn’t? Ah, so this is what it feels like to be rejected by your own child …

Sakura: Okay, fine, fine! I think of you as being a second father, alright? But if you tell that idiot Naruto or Sasuke about this, they’ll never let me live it down.

*Sarada wakes up and starts crying*

Kakashi: There, there; let Grandpa make it all better!

Sakura: Well... he's a lot like Lord 7th. Very determined to achieve his goals, passionate about the things he loves, and he's very kind and pure hearted

Sarada: Is he strong? Does he have cool jutsu like Lord 7th too?

Sakura: He's very strong, and he has a lot of jutsu. He uses lightning release, and as an Uchiha, he has special eyes called the Sharingan, the Sharingan helps him see enemy movements better

Sarada: Do you think... I can learn that? Will I have a Sharingan?

Sakura: You can learn anything you put your mind to, Sarada, but I'm not sure about the Sharingan

Sarada: What do you mean?

Sakura: Not every Uchiha gets it, and it can only be awakened, not taught. It's different to Auntie Hinata's Byakugan in that regard

Sarada: Oh... I see... can I ask you another question?

Sakura: Of course

Sarada: What were the late Uchiha like? What were my grandparents like?

Sakura: Hmm... that questions hard for me to answer. I never met them. Maybe when your dad comes home next, he can tell you all about them, and he can tell you about his past too

Sarada: Why can't you, Mama? I want to know now...

Sakura: *kisses her forehead* It's not my story to tell, Cherry. Your father will tell it to you, just like he told me. I know you're curious, but it can be hard for him to talk about. He'll get there

Sarada: Mm... alright Mama... can we send him another letter? I have some photos of the cherry blossom tree at school that I want to show him

Sakura: Of course. I'll go get some paper, go get your pictures and pens

Sarada: Thanks, Mama!

Spring

Trigger warning: -

The events take place shortly after Sakura's and Enver's first meeting.

"What's your name?" The boy Enver asks the young girl.

She hesitates for a moment, but decides to tell him the truth. "I don't have one. Or maybe I don't remember it."

Enver raises an eyebrow and gives her a puzzled look. "You don't have a name? But what are your friends calling you?"

The girl sighs and stares to the green grass between her feet. "I don't have friends..."

Enver closes his eyes, his voice only a hushed whisper: "Me neither..."

The moment passes in silence. The two kids sitting in the park under the warm spring sun, green grass around them and cherry trees in full bloom above.

Suddenly Enver has an idea. He glances at the girl with a half smile at the corner of his lip: "You said you are from Wa?"

The girl gives him a confused look: "Yes, I said that already... why?"

The boy's smile turns into a wide grin: "How about this... I will call you Sakura!"

The girl looks at him bluntly, but then a little smile tugs at her lips. She slowly answers: "Yes... I think I like that."

Sakura's gaze wanders to the cherry trees above her. They remind her of her homeland, when everything wasn't so complicated. She likes to be named after the cherry blossoms.

the best cardcaptor sakura episode is the one where sakura destroys all of her father's work materials by accident while trying to catch a clow card and in the end her father doesn't get mad or anything. he just comforts her and hugs her and tells her that he'll just start over and that everything is ok. in the end sakura is still super upset and wants to make it up to him somehow and he's just like "oh. well... you can help me cook breakfast together!! :D" and it's just so skdndnsksmdndkk

literally cried while watching it. it is so good. i hope everyone who worked on the episode knows i love them.

time traveling sakura and obito being reluctant (sakura) supervillains (obito sure is doing his own thing much less reluctantly) is such a funny joke au in my head but i can never quite pull it together into a coherent concept other then obito is stuck in an awkward position until he can finagle exploding his own heart and surviving (again).

sakura got mega stockholm syndromed into very reluctant undying fondness because obito knew she’d never be able to keep her fucking mouth shut stuck in the body of a toddler and just yoinked her.
