WIBTA if i cut off someone reaching out for help on tumblr? i am a very anxious person. ive been on tumblr a very long time because most all other social media terrifies me as someone who grew up with the wild west internet a decade past (im in my late 20s) so i feel sometimes with how reckless and spurractic people can be online in chatroom and especially clearly public platforms where any stranger, malicious or otherwise can just archive your digital presence for personal use.
more recently as someone who has been here during the pornban and as an asexual really enjoyed the quiet with no drama farming and a slow pace to talk about more unique political topics in a measured way it is something im strangely nostalgic for and a great example of my sensibilities to people when they insist that i use other platforms like discord or twitter or whatever clone for these services comes out of the old guard introducing feature creep to copy everyone else or any other indi "were the anti corporate version" of the endless scroll apps. i just dont want it. tumblr is special because im desktop only, been here for years, and i have kept track of every single change made so i have manually adjusted the change through hacks to evade every bad decision on here and make my set up look identical to how it was in 2010. so let it be understood that i tend to be a loney person because of this stubbornness. web 3.0 is too dangerous to people with addictive tendencies that my adhd brings out and my need to wear my heart on my sleeve. so i hope i defended my personality type enough to show why someone like me would see a post about some horrible abuses they have fell victim to who also share alot of the marginalized status as me and writing depressive things in the replys of others posts as to attention seek about it.
i directly interact with this person, not only to check if they are real (but wow, modern chat bots make this part horrifying for me. we really cant ever know for sure what is real anymore. trying to find warmth on the internet feels impossible now a days) i have multiple conversations at this point both venting and just casually shooting the shit. but the begging for me to constantly repost their paypal makes me so nervous in a way that i feel so guilty for because it reminds me of all the scams that get associated with this kind of ebegging and the reminder that capitalism takes away all warmth from human interaction to make them purely transnational and conditional. but then it just has been escalating where im so scared that now its not enough that im reposing on my 8 follower, all mutual blog, they are asking me to share it on other socials. accounts i do not have i have a flip phone and a laptop and i am tinkering with a windows 7 tower that will never be connected to the internet so i can always have software sit perfectly in its time capsule for when i need it. i do not have a way to help this person outside of what i learned from collage psyche classes. a part of me is so scared to just abruptly cut them off and just delete my entire account like i tend to do often on tumblr for a multitude of reasons, its a part of what lets people survive being here this long but i worry that would crush them if i did that, i dont want to make them feel more hopeless and unwanted then they already talk about. but i am text on the internet through a screen. i can only do so much. so would i be the asshole if i just deleted my account with a "i hope you hang in there, the world is a harsh place but keep moving" to cut someone so similar to me who is struggling out of my life?
What are these acronyms?

Browsing the World Wide Web
Browsing the World Wide Web
One of my favorite passions is creating/finding ways to navigate the web that are healthy, authentic, and fun! Here are some resources I use to guide my internet usage. Some language has been slightly adapted for tone and accessibility. For more in-depth reading, follow the links! (taken with permission from https://yair.garden/browsing). Shared Ideals
MelonKing has an excellent list of shared ideals which I try to keep in mind as I browse the web. It's a great starting point!
Creativity is First: We see the ability to design, decorate, and graffiti digital spaces as essential and powerful.
The Internet is Fun: We want the Web to be a playground that's free to explore and enjoy.
Corporations are Boring: We are tired of the monetization, data abuse, and endless breaches of trust in corporate culture.
The Web is Friendly: We believe the Web should be friendly and supportive; caring is a radical act.
Right to Repair: We value the freedom to make, break, and repair our stuff - tinkering is a form of debate and protest.
One World Wide Web: We want free open knowledge and global connectivity, without paywalls, bubbles, or borders.
Chaotic Effort: We believe that value comes from the time and effort put into projects they love for no reason other than love.
No to Web3: In many (but not all) situations, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, unfairly trained AIs, and buzzword tech are unwelcome and uncool.
Manifesto for a New Web
The YesterWeb is an organization seeking to progressively transform internet culture and beyond. After two years, they created three core commitments and three social behavior guidelines to benefit everyone.
A commitment to social responsibility and partisanship.
A commitment to collective well-being and personal growth.
A commitment to rehumanizing social relations and reversing social alienation.
50 additional manifestos can be found here Social Etiquette
Engage in good faith.
Engage in constructive conflict.
Be mindful of participating in a shared, public space.
Why say no to Web 3.0?
One of the shared ideas of our community of web surfers is to push back against "Web 3.0". Here's why:
It's driven by predatory marketing tactics.
It requires complex technological and financial knowledge to fully understand.
It is actively harming the environment.
It caters to early adopters and whales.
It profits off artificial scarcity.
Investors are banking on Web3, and they really don't want to be wrong.
Personalized Web Surfing Guide
Make your web surfing personal and adventurous, away from corporate influences. Here's a simple guide for a unique browsing experience.
Configure your browser
Remove Ads and Clean up Privacy:
Ublock Origin for removing ads
ClearURLs for removing tracking elements from URLs
SponsorBlock for skipping sponsorships on YouTube
Make it a Safer Space:
ShinigamiEyes for highlighting transphobic/anti-LGBTQ sites
TriggerRemover for removing trigger-inducing content from pages
Clean up UI for Beauty and Minimalism:
CleanerReads for a muted Goodreads experience
Minimal; for a minimal and less attention-grabbing internet
Bonuses for a Cool Experience:
Library Extension: Check book availability at local libraries
Translate Web Pages: Translate pages in real-time
Return YouTube Dislike: Bring back the YouTube dislike feature
How to Browse and Surf the Web
Explore Beyond Corporate Sites: While the internet is vast, the majority of users only see a small fraction dominated by large corporate sites. These sites often prioritize shock value and extreme content, overshadowing the richness of the wider web. Explore alternative avenues to discover the internet's diversity.
Search Engines: Avoid corporate search engines like Google. Instead, consider using alternatives like Kagi, which focuses on privacy and doesn't sell your data. While it costs around $10/month, Kagi offers a diverse mix of web content, making it a worthwhile investment for varied search results. Other niche or non-commercial search engines can also provide unique content. While they may not be sustainable for daily use, they're great for discovering new sites. Find them here.
Webrings: Webrings are collections of websites united by a common theme or topic. They offer a unique way to explore sites created by real people, spanning a wide range of interests. Here are some of my favorite webrings:
Hotline Webring
Retro Webring
Low Tech Webring
Geek Webring
Soft Heart Clinic Mental Health Circle ...and here are some list of webring databases to explore!
Curated List of 64 Webrings
Neocities Webrings
Curated List of Active Webrings
Comprehensive List of 210 Webrings
Cliques/Fanlistings Web Cliques/Cliques are groups which you can join usually if you fulfill a certain task such as choosing an animal or listing your astrological sign. Fanlistings do the same for fans of various topics! You can then be linked on the clique's/fan group's site for further website discovery! Here are some web clique directories:
Project Clique
Cliqued
Fanlistings Network
5. Link Directories
Many sites have smaller link directories of buttons where you can find sites that they are "mutuals" (both creators follow each other) and "friends/neighbors" — sites they follow. It's a great way to build community. There are also larger link directories of sites which someone finds cool, and it's a great way to intentionally explore the web. Here are some of my favorites:
SadGrl Links
Melonland Surf Club
Neocities Sites
Onio.Cafe
Though there are many more! 6. Random Site Generators
Finally, there are random site generators which allow you to randomly stumble upon websites. While not very practical, they are a lot of fun and offer a unique way to discover new corners of the web.
A list can be found here
What now?
The next question you have is probably how can you become an active member/contribute in this world of the underground web? I unfortunately don't have the energy to write a guide right now but it will come soon! In broad strokes, consider making a site on Neocities. If you do make a site, remember to include a robots.txt file to get AI and bots out of there and don't forget to rate your site so we can know who it's for. If you'd like to transition off social media I recommend an RSS Reader such as the one at 32bit.cafe or on Fraidycat (guide on this to come soon as well!). For your twitter-fix you can always post a status at Status Cafe and your mood at imood. There is a whole world out there full of passionate and friendly people who are ready to reclaim the web. Excited to see you there!

Wish List For A Dumb Phone
I have a dumb phone with 20 days of standby time. It's getting old. I might need to buy another one soon.
I only really need that phone for phone stuff. It's small and light. It's my backup in places where my smartphone does not have reception.
A replacement would need physical buttons, and have bar or flip phone form factor, preferably in a blight green or orange colour. It should be a dual-SIM quad-band with GSM for basic phone calls, SMS and MMS, and 4G or 5G connectivity. The web browsing or download speed doesn't really matter.
In terms of featurephone features, I don't need twitter, facebook, whatsapp, or any of those built-in apps. I want the ability to take pictures, play MP3 and OGG files, record audio, play audio, browse the file system, and assign audio files as custom ringtones. E-mail is optional.
The hardware features I want are an SD card slot, a 240p camera or better, a light, FM radio (DAB would be a plus), a replaceable battery, bluetooth for tethering and audio headsets, and USB-C for tethering, charging, and file transfer. It doesn't have to be USB-PD or USB 3.0.
There are some features that would be nice. It would be nice to have a playlist that I can sync with a desktop podcatcher application. It would be nice to be able to move contacts between the SIM card and the SD card in bulk, and to sync contacts with my NextCloud address book with a desktop application. It would be nice if I could mount my phone's file system via USB.
All these features boil down to this: My dumb phone is a bit beat up. I wish I could just replace it with a slightly newer model with USB-C, but otherwise it doesn't need apps or wlan.
There is no phone out there that is just slightly better than my old dumb phone, and can be charged via USB. Once you have all the hardware and features, you might as well slap Android on there, and a more powerful processor, and sell it on features.
It's sad. There are many dumb phones that are almost better than my old one. There is one that is just like my old one, but with 4G instead of 3G, but no USB-C. There is one that looks great, but all reviews say the software is buggy and bluetooth doesn't work reliably. There is one with loads of features that has a couple of days of standby time, not weeks.
There's also one that has all the features but costs more than a smartphone.
All I really want is a Nokia 215 with USB-C, tethering, and a comfortable way to sync my stuff to a PC.

The Evolution of Web 2.0
The Evolution of Web 2.0: Transforming the Internet Experience
The internet has come a long way since its inception, and one of the most significant milestones in its evolution is Web 2.0. This term, first coined in the early 2000s, represents the shift from static web pages to dynamic, user-driven platforms. With the rise of social media, user-generated content, and interactive online services, Web 2.0 has revolutionized the way we connect, communicate, and create.
Tumblr media
What is Web 2.0?
In simple terms, Web 2.0 refers to the transformation of the web into a more interactive and collaborative space. Unlike its predecessor, Web 1.0, which primarily consisted of static websites where users could only consume content, Web 2.0 allows users to actively participate in the creation and sharing of information. This paradigm shift has led to the rise of social networks, blogs, wikis, and other platforms that encourage collaboration and community building.
Key Features of Web 2.0:
User-Generated Content: Platforms like YouTube, Twitter, and Wikipedia have made it easier than ever for users to create and share their own content, whether it's videos, articles, or social media posts.
Social Networking: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn are prime examples of Web 2.0's emphasis on building online communities where people can connect, share experiences, and collaborate.
Interactive Interfaces: Technologies like AJAX and APIs enable more dynamic, responsive web pages that allow real-time updates without refreshing the page. This has greatly enhanced the user experience, particularly on social media platforms.
Rich User Experiences: Web 2.0 applications are designed with the user in mind, making it easy to navigate, interact with, and personalize their online experiences.
The Impact of Web 2.0 on Digital Culture
Web 2.0 has empowered individuals to have a voice in the digital world. Blogs, forums, and social media platforms have democratized content creation, giving anyone with an internet connection the ability to publish their thoughts, ideas, and creations to a global audience.
For businesses, this shift has created new opportunities for engagement with consumers. Brands are now able to interact with customers directly through social media platforms, fostering a sense of community and loyalty.
Moreover, the rise of influencers and content creators on platforms like YouTube and Instagram has changed the landscape of marketing. People trust recommendations from peers and influencers more than traditional advertising, and brands have quickly adapted to this new form of communication.
What’s Next After Web 2.0?
As technology continues to advance, discussions around the next phase of the web—often referred to as Web 3.0—have begun. While Web 2.0 focuses on user interaction and community-driven content, Web 3.0 promises to take things even further by incorporating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and decentralized technologies like blockchain. In this new era, the web could become even more personalized, secure, and user-centric.
Conclusion
Web 2.0 has truly transformed the way we interact with the internet, bringing about an age of collaboration, connection, and creativity. As we look forward to the future, it's exciting to imagine how the web will continue to evolve and shape our digital experiences.

MY REFLECTION WHAT I LEARN IN EMPOWERMENT TECHNOLOGY
Tumblr media
Empowerment technology is a great idea for students like me, to learn better, understand better and to socialize. Using technology is very convenient and it is easy to use and you get faster information, it is very applicable in education. As a student, I learn better by using technology and empowerment technology is teaching us the way of using technology it gives us information how to be more responsible of using it for good intention and that is by education. I learn so much about empowerment technology it helps us to know more about ICT or Information Communication Technology. I learn about the WWW or World Wide Web, internet, static and dynamic web pages, key features, semantic web, several problems about 3.0, mobile technologies, trends in ICT, mobile OS, how to be safe online, six types of social media, internet threats and many more are the lessons that we tackled and learb about. And these lessons help me, the new generation or the millennials to be responsible enough to use technology in means of education.
Tumblr media
Empowerment technology is one of my subject in third trimester. And for the three months of Class Lectures, Projects, Assignments and Performance task, i have learned a lot. more than what I needed. I’am a person who is not techie, yes, I may love to surf the internet that much but that’s all. Doing computer works like Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel is not my thing and I hate doing it also. I’m ignorant with its features but then when we had subject, it thought me the things I never knew. I learned also the Key Features of different kinds of web pages. And Empowerment Technology course thought me how to handle the internet with safety and security. It has also taught me the different online platforms tools for Information, Communicaton and Technology Content Development. I also can say that this subject was useful and very helpful because today’s modern world, we shall know how to be within the trend. And right now, technology has a really fast pacing. Whenever, there’s one gadget coming out, different inventions also of gadgets will follow. I’ve also learned a lot in different malwares, adwares and phishing–It made me aware what are the things that could possibly harm my personal gadgets or computer. I can relate Empowerment technology to my life by saying that for example, In the Personal Computer we can download everything that but its just that there is something that we should always be careful of: the Virus. It may cause a greater harm than we ever thought, and Just like in life, when we ask too much, when we download what we want; saying that we didn’t intended to do so, or assuming that we didn’t think of its possibilities and impossibilities, its causes and effects to us, we end up being greedy that it causes harm in our very own selves. I have come to understand that Empowerment Technology made my learning skills more in trend and explore and discover in a looks of a valuable and interesting. Empowerment Technology allowed me to a finer interactivity in order to cope up with the experience of learning based on what I needed. Instead of using the “old way” of learning like writing all the articles in hand-written, we had it using WordPress and it made me, as student, to utilize the material we had-which is laptop- to make it easier. The thought also of Empowerment Technology made my life easy as in this course, we have been educated to do research and so with the help of Internet-as of one of our lectures- it is a powerful tool for it became as way of us, the students to have a active learning and provides opportunities for authentic learning experience.
Tumblr media
And so, I thank my subject Mr. Erica Decapia for giving me the things i need to learn throughout this subject that she made me less ignorant with the technology. Five hundred words are more than enough to describe how thankful I am that we had this subject this trimester for us to help to be with one in the trend.
Tumblr media
As technology advances, our leisure time is increasing this statement make a rather unreal assumption. It is in our nature to invent, improve, innovate and think of a better ways in order to make solutions in every problems that we might encounter in our daily lives. Nowadays, technology controls everything even ourselves and the things we use to do, everything is changing and technology changes us all. The development of technology will continue to expand rapidly.
Tumblr media
Empowerment is the process of becoming stronger, more confident and in control of what might happen while technology deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life and society. Empowerment technology help us strengthens our scientific knowledge in order for us to learn how to apply different technology-related information at certain things in our lives. The extent of ICT integrated in the teaching learning process in Senior High School have a positive impact in every student like us especially were taking ABM strand. In our Empowerment Technology subject our activities are to be done through the use of social media, this blog that we create using WordPress is one of these example. For us, it paves the way for self- discovery.

Notcoin – How to Earn Crypto in Telegram
Tumblr media
Let's face it: trends have a habit of fizzling out quickly. We've seen this play out time and time again. If we're being honest, probably 95% of Telegram games are just riding the hype train, offering little to no real value.
But Notcoin? That's a whole different ball game. NOT isn't just a game; it's a philosophy. The developers realized that a simple clicker game wouldn't cut it long-term. So they used that viral mechanic merely as a way to distribute coins. The real challenge was to offer users something more substantial, something truly valuable.
No sooner had the clicker craze cooled off than Notcoin launched the next big thing: Explore-to-Earn. This is uncharted territory in the crypto world. After a successful beta run, they finally dropped the full release on July 11th.
Let's dive deep into what this project looks like today, who might benefit from it, and most importantly - how to make some money.
Getting Started with Explore-to-Earn
Jumping in couldn't be easier. All you need to do is hop into the Telegram bot.
Next up - and we can't stress this enough - link your crypto wallet to the app. Don't sweat it; it's completely safe. Notcoin can't touch your funds without your say-so. It's just requesting info. Any non-custodial wallet will do the trick. The crowd favorites? TON Space and TON Keeper.
And that's it!
The Essence of Explore-to-Earn: A Triple Win
In the crypto world, you'll often hear the phrase "win-win" - a situation where both parties come out on top. But Notcoin? They've upped the ante with a "win-win-win" system. Let's break down how this clever setup works.
The Notcoin ecosystem brings together three key players: Notcoin itself, other Web 3.0 developers, and you, the users. Notcoin's user base has already blown past an eye-popping 40 million. Let's be real - what project wouldn't jump at the chance to showcase their product to such a massive audience?
Here's how the mechanism works in practice:
A crypto project buys a chunk of NOT tokens from the market (usually around 1 million coins). Think of this as their advertising budget.
You, as a user, go through an onboarding process - getting to know their product, following their channels and social media, and completing various tasks. For your efforts, you pocket the lion's share of these tokens.
A smaller portion goes to the Notcoin team. This is how they monetize the project and fund further development of the app.
The third, also small, portion gets burned. This reduces the total supply of coins, potentially driving up the value of NOT tokens.
In the end, everyone comes out ahead:
You pocket tokens for checking out new projects.
Crypto projects tap into a massive audience.
Notcoin turns a profit from their platform.
NOT holders benefit from the token's rising value.
Simple, yet brilliant...
Let's dive deeper into how this mechanism ticks.
Pools
When a new project drops into Notcoin, they kick off what's called a "pool". Think of it as a reservoir of NOT tokens, with two key features:
Pool Size: This is the total number of NOT tokens up for grabs, waiting to be divvied up among users.
Campaign: This is your to-do list - a series of tasks you need to knock out to get your slice of the pool.
Here's how the process of participating unfolds:
You spot a new pool and decide to jump in.
You work your way through the campaign tasks. This could involve following the project's channels, getting acquainted with their product, performing specific actions on their platform, and so on.
Once you've successfully completed all the tasks, you become a full-fledged pool participant.
Now, here's where it gets exciting: As a pool participant, you start "draining" NOT tokens from it. This happens automatically, every hour. You and other participants gradually claim tokens until the pool is completely emptied.
Levels
Your farming speed in the pool depends on your level. There are three levels: Bronze, Gold, and Platinum. During the beta, your level was determined by how many NOT tokens you staked. Now, things have changed.
Those who staked their NOT tokens early (before May 16th) and haven't withdrawn them yet have been granted a permanent level (as long as they keep their coins staked).
For everyone else, it's now subscription-based. You can pay through Telegram Stars, or use your NOT tokens already in the app.
Will the subscription pay off? That's the million-dollar question. For example, over 2 months of farming at the Platinum level, we managed to mine about 10,000 NOTs. Currently, a 3-month subscription costs 9,990. It's a decision you'll have to weigh carefully.
The Evolution of Notcoin
We envision Notcoin evolving into something akin to Steam - a platform connecting products with end-users. This is the unique value Notcoin offers, setting it apart from most of its clones and imitators.
Looking Ahead:
Temper Expectations: While the potential is there, it's clear that initial promises haven't fully materialized yet. Be patient and realistic.
Stay Active: With future airdrops planned, maintaining activity in the ecosystem could pay off.
Watch the Tokenomics: The limited supply and burn mechanism could lead to price appreciation over time, but it's not guaranteed.
Keep an Eye on New Features: The trading bot and NFTs could add new dimensions to the platform's utility and value.
Platform Potential: If Notcoin successfully positions itself as a go-to platform for crypto projects to reach users, it could become a significant player in the space.
Diversify: While Notcoin shows promise, remember it's just one project in a vast crypto ecosystem. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
The team's focus on creating a unique value proposition - being the bridge between crypto projects and users - is a smart move. If executed well, this could indeed make Notcoin a "Steam for crypto", providing lasting value beyond the initial hype.
As always in crypto, there are no guarantees. The project shows promise, but also faces challenges and competition. Stay informed, engage wisely, and as they say, DYOR (Do Your Own Research).
Good luck!

The Evolution of Web Development: A Journey Through the Years
Web development is the work involved in developing a website for the Internet (World Wide Web) or an intranet .
Origin/ Web 1.0:
Tim Berners-Lee created the World Wide Web in 1989 at CERN. The primary goal in the development of the Web was to fulfill the automated information-sharing needs of academics affiliated with institutions and various global organizations. Consequently, HTML was developed in 1993.
Web 2.0:
Web 2.0 introduced increased user engagement and communication. It evolved from the static, read-only nature of Web 1.0 and became an integrated network for engagement and communication. It is often referred to as a user-focused, read-write online network.
Web 3.0:
Web 3.0, considered the third and current version of the web, was introduced in 2014. Web 3.0 aims to turn the web into a sizable, organized database, providing more functionality than traditional search engines.
Tumblr media
This evolution transformed static websites into dynamic and responsive platforms, setting the stage for the complex and feature-rich web applications we have today.
Static HTML Pages (1990s)
Introduction of CSS (late 1990s)[13]
JavaScript and Dynamic HTML (1990s - early 2000s)[14][15]
AJAX (1998)[16]
Rise of Content management systems (CMS) (mid-2000s)
Mobile web (late 2000s - 2010s)
Single-page applications (SPAs) and front-end frameworks (2010s)
Server-side javaScript (2010s)
Microservices and API-driven development (2010s - present)
Progressive web apps (PWAs) (2010s - present)
JAMstack Architecture (2010s - present)
WebAssembly (Wasm) (2010s - present)
Serverless computing (2010s - present)
AI and Machine Learning Integration (2010s - present)

Honestly it upsets me that web 3.0 was taken by crypto bros back when they wanted to set the earth on fire and call it an investment when the term works SO well to describe the enshittification of the internet
Web 2.0 was when website devs were like "hey let's make APIs so that people can do fun things with them and all our websites can function together" and then the term was to describe how the old internet was dead (positive), similarly web 3.0 could say the same thing except the old internet is dead (negative)

Web 3.0 should be all about "hey that above stuff really sucks and the internet is now just like 10 corporations in a dick measuring contest" and not just to refer to that time tech bros thought their new buzzword was the answer to literally everything

One thing that's been in the back of my mind is the aesthetic component of great video essays. I don't mean the fancy costumes of ContraPoints or PhilosophyTube, or at least I don't just mean those. The video that got me thinking about this topic was The Future is a Dead Mall - Decentraland and the Metaverse by Dan Olson. The video has a running motif that I can only describe as "the 90's".
(Perhaps inaccurately—I don't actually remember any of the 90's, and I think there are some aesthetc call-backs to the 80's, too? Or at least things that make someone who never saw the 80's think "the 80's"...)
At its most obvious, you have Dan comparing the Lindt Experience to the decade's FMV adventure games. Once you I notice that detail, I started to see this motif reflected across the entire video—early Internet gifs in the title cards, references to other 90's or 90's-adjacent media, slides presented in the style of ye olde analog projectors, period music, and so on.
Why does Dan keep referencing the 90's? Several reasons come to mind.
Two of the big metaverse-inspiring narratives, Snow Crash and The Matrix, were written in the 90's. All modern "metaverses" are building on ideas developed in that era.
At the same time, they are failing to learn lessons learned in the 90's. Website design streamlined into a consistent form, simple layouts of text and perhaps images, because anything more complicated just makes the website more cumbersome. Decentraland and other metaverse projects which "activate the trap card of falsifiability" go hard in the other direction.
The whole video has a running mall motif. There's the MetaGamiMall, there's the mixture of social and commercial elements which malls embodied in their prime, there's the fact that Decentraland and other Metaverse projects are directly compared to dead malls, including in the title. That golden age of malls was, or at least included, the 90's.
Whatever the intended purpose of the 90's motif, or even if it has no purpose on its own, it serves to make the whole feature-length video essay feel cohesive. It makes the whole thing feel less like a series of topically linked shorts or a meandering stream of consciousness, and more like a single entity, a single work, a single argument with a singular thesis. "The Web 3.0 vision of the future is a dead mall."

THE POWER OF INCLUENCER MARKETING IN DIGITAL AGE
THE POWER OF INFLUENCER MARKETING IN DIGITAL AGE
INTRODUCTION:
In the digital age, influencer marketing has emerged as a powerful and highly effective strategy for businesses and brands to reach their target audiences and promote their products or services. Influencer marketing leverages the influence and popularity of individuals who have a significant following on various social media platforms.
Here are some key aspects that highlight the power of influencer marketing in the digital age:
Authenticity and Trust: Influencers often build a strong bond of trust with their followers through consistent, authentic, and relatable content. Their audience sees them as real people with genuine opinions, making recommendations from influencers feel more trustworthy than traditional advertising.
Reach and Engagement: Influencers have the ability to reach a vast audience across different demographics and regions. When influencers promote a product or service, they can generate high levels of engagement, leading to increased visibility and brand awareness.
Targeted Marketing: Influencers usually have a niche or specific area of expertise, which means their followers are interested in a particular subject or industry. This allows brands to target their marketing efforts more effectively and connect with their ideal customers.
Influencer Diversity: There are influencers in various niches, from beauty and fashion to technology and finance. This diversity allows brands to find influencers who align with their values and match their target market, ensuring relevant and tailored marketing campaigns.
Tumblr media
User-Generated Content: Influencers often create content featuring the products or services they promote, resulting in user-generated content that can be shared and utilized by the brand. This not only saves time and resources for the brand but also enhances the credibility of the product through real-life usage.
Improved SEO and Online Presence: Collaborating with influencers can lead to increased brand mentions and backlinks from their content, which positively impacts search engine optimization (SEO) and helps boost the brand's online presence.
Agility and Flexibility: Influencer marketing campaigns can be executed swiftly, making it easier for brands to respond to current trends or seasonal promotions in real-time. This agility allows businesses to stay relevant and competitive in fast-paced digital landscapes.
Measurable ROI: Many social media platforms provide in-depth analytics, enabling brands to track the performance and impact of influencer marketing campaigns accurately. This data-driven approach allows brands to refine their strategies for better returns on investment.
However, it's essential for brands to approach influencer marketing thoughtfully and ensure a good fit between the influencer and their target audience. Transparency and authenticity are crucial, and it's vital for influencers to disclose their partnerships to maintain trust with their followers.
CONCLUSION:
Overall, influencer marketing, when done right, can be a powerful tool in the digital age, helping brands connect with their audience in an authentic and engaging manner, leading to increased brand loyalty, sales, and market share.

Wow!!!!! Those cool new cartridge features have exploded on to your desktop computer once again! Now we're talking. This is some serious Web 2.0 shit, right here. Maybe even… Web 3.0, dare you say? No, let's not get carried away. It isn't THAT cool. But wait, look! Another three options too pick from. The carousel of choice spins round and round, while the dervish of free will…
The dervish of free will can kiss your ass, you grumble through a double facepalm. The UI is still seized up with ugly jittering artifacts. At least this time a different path is available, it would seem. You guess you'll click the only working option, and resign yourself to a straightforward, choiceless procession through the story, as usual. Linear as she goes, you grouse as you click the Kanaya button.
Web 2.0? More like Web two point NO. You're starting to wish the internet was never invented.
