Maybe you started shipping something as a joke, and now you’re deep into an AU where they’re engaged with an adopted penguin baby from Antarctica?

If any of the above apply to you, then you’re in the right place! Welcome to the Crossover Ships Tournament! Whether it’s two characters from a canon loosely connected by the same property, characters who once shared a crossover or two, or even a random anime character with a Disney princess, we’re here to see which pair of canon-crossed lovers can beat the odds and make it to the winner’s circle!

Rules:

Characters must come from different, unconnected canons.

Characters from multiverses, rebooted canons, canons that span across multiple series, media whose entire gimmick is being a crossover, reboots, etc, will all be judged on an individual basis, as there are so many tiny details on what a crossover could mean on a technical level. If you have any questions on whether a ship counts or not, just ask!

Two characters per submission, please! We support polyamory here but it simply wouldn’t be fair to pair up a duo with a whole polycule.

No ships with real people, please! Also no MCYT characters, unless they fall under the Mogar Clause (that being; they are eligible if they originated from a MCYT series but ended up in another media that is separated enough from the source to be its own thing, and the character its own character rather than just an extension of a real person). Other than that, you’re free to submit characters from whatever franchise you want, but I will have the final say on what characters and franchises I want in the tournament.

In the wise words of my buddy, Roman; meme ships are acceptable as submissions as long as you ship it for more than just the memes. If you’re going to slam Sansmaeda or SansReigen into my submission box, you’d better do your hardest to convince me you ship it fully and unironically. Silliness and earnestness go hand in hand but the earnestness must also be present!

Following up on that, if you’re only here to point and laugh at the ridiculousness of the submissions, I humbly request you leave. We’re having fun here, and while a lot of it is very silly and acknowledging that silliness is well and good, this is being run by someone who has always loved crossovers and crossover ships. And I can only assume those who will be submitting ships of their own likely feel the same. This is a contest for love and appreciation, not cruel mockery.

Infodumping on how you came to ship your submission is ENCOURAGED. I wanna know as much info as you’re willing to give, even if it’s ‘I just thought they looked cute together!’ Maybe I’ll even publish some of the infodumps I like beneath the submissions that get in, with permission from the writer of course! But even if I don’t end up doing that, I’d still like to see them anyway!

Fan art submissions for the bracket pics are welcomed and will be accepted via the submission option on the blog. Please either provide proof that you are the artist or provide proof of explicit permission from the artist with your submissions, otherwise it will not be considered. All artists will be credited, and all art is welcomed! Even if you so much as smush two screencaps together! (It’ll be one less pair of screencaps I’ll have to smush together, hint hint 💗)

If you’re looking for a similar competition focused on non-romantic crossover dynamics, please follow the counterpart blog of @crossovernonshipstournament, run by my aforementioned buddy Roman! This one is strictly romance-based, while his is more focused on non-romantic dynamics! This tumblr was mostly set up for Hermitcraft and Empires shitposting, and that's mostly what I'll use it for. I do occasionally post fics and other ramblings, sometimes snippets from streams or from watching episodes, new or otherwise. Lots of art and fic reblogs. And sometimes I post my minecraft builds.

I'm mainly hyperfixated on Cub and Scar and the ConVex, as well as Sausage and Pearl and their lore, but I also write RenDoc and Ren/Martyn and others when the inspiration strikes.

I am shippy and do occasionally write smutfic and kinkfic, but I do also write gen and platonic fic as well when the story wants that instead. Mostly I am your niche rarepair writer who isn't interested in the big juggernaut pairings. And who wrote skulk Cub before it was canon lmao. XD

I have been posting fic on AO3 under other accounts for a long time, and I mostly adhere to AO3's guidelines when rating my fic. So you may find kinkfic and other sexual content in my M-rated fics as well as my E-rated fics bc both are designed for adult content, but this will always be clear from the tags so there shouldn't be any surprises. I know I differ from some of the fandom on this, but it's how I do things, and I want to be upfront about that.

Transformative Works Policy:

#vex magic grimoire - If you're interested in the Vex Magic Grimoire, I have a tag for that where you can follow the progress of that grimoire. The concept behind it is that it's being written mostly by Pharaoh Cub in s7, with inputs from Scar, and it's exploring and explaining Vex magic and potions and a bunch of my Vex lore.

I have also started an archive for the grimoire pages over here at the Liber Vex archive. It's just simple links back to tumblr rn, but it'll be more of a full text archive in time. New pages will be updated there and I'll link this at the end of each new post as well, so keep an eye on that site if you want to keep up with all the lore.

#minecraft builds - All my minecraft screencaps and builds are housed under this tag. I play mostly java these days. I currently have two worlds I'm working on:

#villa hekatea - This is a Java solo world, seed -6478546301100136766. I mostly play this as survival, but it's become a bit of a crevival world, as sometimes I just don't have the energy to grind resources in survival, so I build in creative instead. It's its own personal mix of builds for particular gods, and just whatever else I want to do. Current project is a woodland mansion base near a mountain that I cannibalised for ores early on.

#hctcg smp - This is the Creo minecraft server, where I have a big desert base inspired by ancient Egypt as well as Pharaoh Cub and other things.

You do not! You can join in anytime. There may be sign-ups for more difficult challenges in the future; stay tuned.

☆ I don't have a Tumblr account. Can I still share my card?

You can! People who don't have an account can still use the Submit function to send messages to our tumblr. You can paste in your bingo card image, along with any links you would like to include, and we will receive it as a post that we can make on your behalf.

☆ Do I have to finish my card in order to share it with The High Five Project?

Not at all! We're happy if you do just one of the activities. As long as you do at least one thing, and share your post with us by the 1st Wednesday deadline, we'll share it with everyone else! That said: if you do complete your card with a blackout by the deadline, you may get a Very Fancy Prize. Check out our sample card posts to get an idea of what you can share -- but please feel free to be creative. :)

☆ Can you clarify what type of fanworks are allowed?

First: please see below for a full definition of each bingo card item. With that said: anything goes! If you want to comment on a rated G Star Wars fic for one square, and leave kudos on a rated E Stranger Things fic for another square, and reblog a "Dead Dove" Avengers artwork for another square -- please feel absolutely free to do so. We want you to have fun, not worry about fitting into any imaginary parameters.

☆ Does each square have to apply to a different fanwork?

No, you can use the same fanwork/creator for multiple squares if you want to. However, we encourage you to spread the love if you can! There are so many creators out there who could use a high five.

☆ How do I fill my card? How is each square defined?

Here’s the way we’re defining the activities associated with each card. If any of this is confusing after you read it over, send us a message and we’ll help!

- ‘leave kudos on a fic’

This is the easiest one! Just go out and find a fic you like and leave a kudos on it, if you haven’t already. It’s a small gesture but it makes an author know that someone actually read their story!

- ‘reblog/retweet an art post’

Find any art post you like and share it! Here’s the catch: you need to interact with it a little. When you reblog/retweet, please tell the creator what you thought about the piece – you can add some tags, or reply to the post, or quote-retweet or add a comment, or anything! A simple “I love this!” is nice but some details are even better (“your linework is so good!” or “that shade of blue is perfect”). One thing to think about: a lot of art on Tumblr is reposted (like when a user posts another artist’s work from Pixiv, say), so it’s nice if you make an effort to interact with posts that are actually from the creator if you can. That way the artist will see your comment!

- ‘reblog/retweet a fic post’

Same as the above, but for fic! Again, tags/replies/comments are needed, preferably with a little detail. You don’t need to be super eloquent or leave a detailed review (although if you have time/energy, that would be appreciated!); a tag as simple as “that was really cute” or “great characterization!” will do. Like with the art posts, it’s nice if you reblog directly from the writer (if you can) – some fics are posted by AO3 feed bots and the like, so the author may not even know a reblog has happened.

- ‘reblog/retweet an edit’

Same as the above, but for edits! Edits can include a gif set, or a set of screencaps, or even a fanvid. And, again, some simple tags/replies are needed. “I love that song choice!” for a vid or “great coloring!” on a gifset can let people know their work is being appreciated.

- ‘comment on a fic’

Find a fic, on any fic-hosting site you like, and leave a comment. That’s it! Again, no need to leave a novel-length comment (unless you’re inspired!) – a sentence or two is all we’re asking for this square to be considered complete. This is a great opportunity to let a writer know how their piece made you feel, or what section you particularly liked.

- ‘message a creator’

‘Creator’ here can mean anyone who makes *anything* to do with fandom: art, edits, fic, meta, knitted sweaters with character faces on them – if they’ve made anything, they’re a creator, and now’s your chance to let them know they’re appreciated. Send a message (anonymous or not!) letting them know that you enjoyed their work!

- ‘make a rec post’

This is a chance to tell your fandom friends about something they need to see. You can rec a fic, a blog, a fan event, an artist, an author, that person who knits sweaters with character faces – any kind of fandom thing that you want to make sure people see. This doesn’t have to be long or complicated, but feel free to go into as much detail as you want! Just make your own post, on Tumblr or Twitter or wherever else seems best to you, and give that thing you loved a little fanfare.

- ‘interact with a meta post’

A little love for our analytical friends! Here, you can reblog/retweet any kind of meta post for your fandom, whether it’s a three sentence headcanon or an essay-length dissection of why Character X is the absolute best character in Fandom Y. It’s even better if you respond to the meta, whether that’s agreeing or (respectfully!) adding your own thoughts, but sharing it is the main thing here.

Would it be possible to have an example or breakdown of how to submit a prompt with the form? I know I've never participated in one of these before and it's unlikely I'm alone in that. Especially for the description, which is the least straightforward compared to things like character tags or ship. I'm excited to participate, just a little lost! :)

Sure! (Here is the submission form)

First, I pick the fandom that I want. It's easiest to pick "all media types" unless the prompt you have in mind is really specific to one of the specific fandom sub-categories and/or you want to signal to your prompt-filler something like "please only use book characters and book canon."

Then I add some characters, ships, and tags that I want. When I was making this prompt, I started with one tag, "AU - Gangsters," and then let that idea suggest a pairing, some other characters, and some other tags that I thought would fit. You can only choose characters, ships, and tags from the pre-created tagset, which is here. If you want to add in additional ideas, we will get to that later.

Then I chose the categories, ratings, and archive warnings I was interested in seeing in my fic. My pairing is Geralt/Letho, so my category should be M/M. I indicated that the prompt fill could be either M or E, and I indicated that I was ok with either graphic depictions of violence (it's a mobster fic, after all) or a no archive warnings apply - which mean that the prompt fill should not include MCD, rape/noncon, or underage.

Finally we get to the all-important "description" field. This is where I put in my vision for the prompt fill. I kept it pretty short so you could see the whole thing in my screencap, but you can probably also see that I have more than 4000 characters left if I want to get much more detailed, and some of the prompts people have submitted are quite a lot more detailed.

A few final things - you can choose on each prompt whether you want it to remain anonymous or not. The reason it says "semi-anonymous" is because depending on the size of the event and the size of the community, other participants will sometimes be able to guess who prompted what (as an example, even though I have clicked the semi anonymous box here, since I also posted the entirety of the prompt on the blog people will know that I made the prompt).

You can hit submit after making one prompt, or you can add more prompts, up to 25 total per AO3 account. I am pretty sure that you don't have to submit all 25 at once but you can go back and add more later as inspiration strikes you.

Entrapdak Zine 3 -  The Stars Align!

I promised I would keep doing these for as long as there was interest and that’s a promise I’m going to keep! Link to the Google Drive with the first two issues

The deadline for this will be JULY 1st 2021 (note anytime on that date is fine - I take that day off for personal reasons)

The Zine is planned to be out by the end of the same month

You may notice I run this different to other zines as there is no sign up period, just submit work before the deadline - I’d rather people have more time to work on their pieces

As long as both Entrapta and Hordak are the main focus and the piece follows Age Rating it will be allowed.

Other allowed characters in the Entrapdak family include Emily, Imp and the Clones (also known as Spacebats)…yes weirdly this also  includes Horde Prime.

Other She-Ra characters will be allowed but Entrapdak is to be the core element.

Fan art can include rough sketches, screencap redraws, comics (appox 1-10 length), coloured sketches or full colour pieces.

If you’d like to certainly!  If you’d like to submit up to three pieces of art and 3 fan writings, sure go for it! I’m certainly not going to stop anyone having a good time

A few things on how this will work:

I’ll only be reblogging still images from the show (and comics in cases where there isn’t much material of a character in the show itself) so there won’t be any fan art, edits or gifs (moving stuff is kinda hard to reference from aha)

The quick links are just there to make life easier for myself but I’ll add posts for more characters as and when I come across them, so if something isn’t listed here, you can still try searching it and there’s a good chance it’ll come up.

There’s also the archive if you wanna scan through lots of stuff quickly rather than scrolling, most posts have multiple images so keep that in mind!

To find stuff quickly on this blog you can search the character’s name in the tags - you can add ‘(character)’ after to make sure no unrelated posts show up but it should mostly work fine without.

The same goes for locations/anything backgrounds-related, all tagged under ‘(location)’. Anything outside the city/nature-related will be tagged under #wilderness and anything that takes place within the city, but not a specific place (e.g. library, school), under #trolberg

Well, that’s a wrap!

It’s officially September, the last Summer Of 51′s prompt has been posted; figured I’d say a few words.

First of all: We nailed it! 27 works in the AO3 collection (so far, since late submissions are very welcome, hint hint :P), plus a handful of tumblr exclusives, plus some meta posts and other assorted non-fic-things, which is just really massively brilliant given the size of the fandom. Thank you so much for participating, everyone! You did brilliantly, and I hope to see you all back for another round of this marvelous mayhem next summer!

And what now?

The Summer Of 51′s main event may have concluded, prompt-wise, but that doesn’t mean we all have to go back into hibernation! 

First of all, the AO3 collection will remain open and the tag’s also still there; please feel free to submit more prompt fills if inspiration strikes! I know I will do that, hopefully quite a lot.

Then, monthly prompts! They’re a thing now! Same concept as the Summer Of 51′s, except with only one prompt per month (plus an alternative or two if the monthly prompt is very specific or otherwise difficult). There’s no AO3 collection for this one, but feel free to tag any fills as “#e! monthly prompt” in addition to any applicable fandom tags. 

I’m also planning to do more for the Living Fandom Project, like creating more fandom-specific ask memes, prompt/request-based games, tumblr post challenges and the like (and, by the way, suggestions for stuff you’d like to see are always welcome). Speaking of which: If any of our newcomers to the tumblr side of this fandom would like to introduce themselves, I did post an Intro Meme back in early June. 

We’ve also got a Discord server now where we’re attempting to watch one episode per week together, currently planned for Fridays at 7 PM Eastern so if you want to stop by for more casual E! talk, there’s that.

And furthermore, this lil’ corner of the fandom will return to its regular scheduled content like screencaps, gifsets, the Random Thoughts Posts and all the other shenanigans I usually get up to as soon as I find a minute to set up the next couple of posts. 

If there’s enough interest, there might also be some kind of fic swap during the winter months - it’s an idea that’s been brought up, but I don’t have anything concrete figured out yet; expect some thoughts (and interest checks) on that at some point soon.

top 5 Xue Yang quotes

I mean pretty much every time he opens his mouth I love it. But I guess if I had to pick single lines...I am going to put screencaps here. This is also all CQL because that’s what I’m more familiar with.

Under a read more because it got long. Surprising no one familiar with me and how this sort of thing goes. Featuring my new blog subtitle: A Whole Lotta Feelings About Xue Yang, and links to a bunch of my own older meta.

1. “You shouldn’t have gotten involved in other people’s business. Who’s right, who’s wrong? How much kindness, how many grudges. Can an outsider be clear about it? Maybe you shouldn’t have left the mountain.”

I wrote a whole meta post about this! I mean, I’ve written a whole lot of meta posts about Xue Yang generally, the amount of digital ink I’ve spilled over this character is, hm. Well. 

But I just find this line fascinating for the ways in which it is, like many of the things that Xue Yang says in this scene, such a blend of emotions: anger, frustration, misery, disappointment.

There’s the “how dare you judge me” of it all, the “you’re so goddamn clueless you just don’t get it” of it, and then also the thing that I talked about in the linked meta - the “you would’ve been better served staying away from this stupid world, where you would’ve been safe and where you would’ve been safe from me.” 

I have a lot of...thoughts, about the way that Xue Yang bounces back and forth between finding it hilarious that Xiao Xingchen is so nice to him while having no idea who he really is, finding it maddening that he is (he’s so stupid! how does he get away with being so stupid!), and finding it...something that he likes, and sort of wants him to keep (in a similar way, actually, to the way that I think Jin Guangyao wants Lan Xichen to keep his relative innocence). 

And also the arc words/recurring sentiment of those questions of right and wrong, black and white. And the idea that that’s not a question Xue Yang has historically concerned himself with, but perhaps right now it might actually matter.

And right now he wants Xiao Xingchen to be on the same page, and at least for a half a second genuinely thought he might be.

2. “The finger is mine, while the lives are theirs.”

Obviously this is like. Peak Xue Yang line: pure solipsism, pure self-centered self-interest: my finger is mine and therefore it’s worth more than the lives of other people.

And there’s a lot to be said about that as a manifesto for Xue Yang - on one level I do think it’s just about how he thinks and perceives others: they just aren’t quite real to him, not in the way he himself is. Like, yes! They exist! Nominally they have “feelings” and “wants” or whatever, but conceptualizing that in any concrete way, or internalizing it, is...hard. It doesn’t seem quite real to him. They don’t seem quite real, not in the way that he is, himself. 

And on the other hand I think there’s something about the way that Xue Yang weights his own value so heavily because he’s the only one who will. Nobody else is going to put any value on his hand or his finger. Xue Yang’s approach to life is very much “nobody’s going to give me anything, so I will get mine and fuck everyone else, if I don’t look out for me above all then it’s a short road to death.” And I think there’s elements of that here. 

Or maybe a question: why should their lives be worth more than my body? Why should they be more valuable than me? And the answer, of course, is that they shouldn’t. 

While I do think that Xue Yang has his insecurities and uncertainties, one thing that he refuses to doubt is that he has a right to exist and a right to get what’s his - even if that comes at the expense of others. 

And I think, too, on some level he figures this is how everyone works. They probably think their fingers are worth his life. They’re wrong, obviously, and the fact that he won proves that. But they still believed it.

3. “Cultivator friend, I’ll plead guilty. But to submit to punishment...that depends if you’re able to catch me.”

This is a less serious one but I love it because it is just...it’s not his intro intro (see below) but it also sort of is, in another way. And it is definitely an intro to his relationship with Xiao Xingchen, and I love it for that - for the way he shows up, perching on a house over an enormous massacre, and is just having the time of his life. 

It’s so cheerfully playful, so bright, the way that he doesn’t even hesitate to be like “yes! I did kill all those people! what’re you gonna do about it :D”

(”does my gay little crime spree piss you off?”)

It sets up this dynamic between a Xiao Xingchen who is taking this all very seriously and a Xue Yang who is having a fantastic time and I just love it. New standard for your OTP meeting: if it doesn’t happen at the scene of a massacre for which one of them is responsible then what’s even the point.

4. “I don’t fear death, only boredom/living without a purpose.”

I wish!!! I knew whether this translation (”having no purpose in living” or the Netflix one (”boredom”) was more “””accurate””” - or if it doesn’t matter and the meaning is pretty close. If someone can tell me that’d be amazing. But either way - this is the moment where I was like “oh I’m screwed” when it came to adopting a new terrible character for my very own.

I have a huge glaring weak spot for characters who are very “death before boredom” about their lives - who look at their existence as sort of “here for a good time not a long time” and recognize that they’re not one for a long life but they’re going to make it one they can enjoy. That almost indifference to their own end weighed against the prospect of dullness - or, with the Viki translation, purposelessness. 

And it does fit with how I think of Xue Yang as someone who sort of needs to have a drive or a goal, most of the time; who needs to be engaged and is easily bored. (This is one of the things that I think he has in common with Wei Wuxian! Sorry, buddy, you’re more alike than you’d like to acknowledge.)

But it also demands such a contrast with the fact that he does, later on, settle down into domestic relative tranquility - into something that would look, to a lot of people, and maybe even to his past self, like boredom.

And yet it doesn’t bore him.

And I just. You know. Have a lot of feelings about that.

5. “Very well. Would I be afraid of people’s disgust? However, are you qualified to feel disgusted by me?”

tfw you see your great fake life starting to go to pieces and decide you’re going to detonate your nuclear weapon in it because hey, might as well take everyone down with you, right?

I love this because it’s one of those things where it’s true and it’s not - I do not think, generally, that Xue Yang really cares about people’s disgust. He sometimes even relishes it! I mean, I think a certain kind of dehumanization sets him off, but in general - yes, I’m’s horrible, yes, I’m disgusting, yes, sure, do I care? Nope. 

But it is pretty clear here, both in terms of facial expression and reactions, that Xiao Xingchen’s judgment does hit home. That his anger and dismissal of Xue Yang’s story, of his exposure of a vulnerability he doesn’t usually allow, hits pretty hard. From Xue Yang’s perspective, he’s taken a risk, and Xiao Xingchen answered it with a slap in the face. (Wrote a bunch about this here.)

And in that hurt he responds, immediately, by lashing out - by using the weapon he’s held in reserve. I’ve written before about how I think Xue Yang prior to this point was in sort of “the fierce corpses thing can stay between me and the fierce corpses now” mode about his extracurricular activities with Xiao Xingchen, but it’s still there, and he knows exactly what he’s doing here. After all, that revenge was always tailored: it was always about bringing Xiao Xingchen down to his level and proving that he’s no better, and never has been any better. 

But I will never get over the look on his face over that first line, where he’s saying “would I be afraid of people’s disgust” and while the words imply no his face is definitely saying yes, at least when it’s you.

BONUSES: 

Most of his conversation with Wei Wuxian but especially the bit about slowly and intimately doing experimental necromancy, but also Xue Yang inviting Song Lan in for lunch.

Come on, Song Lan! Just take the free meal! It’ll be fine.

Okay, another imagine since I'm obsessed with those raskals....imagine tattletale having a sudden rebellious phase. Not sure what exactly triggers it, but one day he just...,,gets a wholeass makeover and arrives late for class. Everyone turns around and is like who tf is this.

Cut to awkwardness and cringe because the whole act comes very unattural to him, it's not who he is and he is obviously forcing it so he is literally acting like a caricature of how older people view teenagers.

That last sentence had me thinking about that one Steve Buscemi meme (hold please, while I go superimpose tattletale’s face onto a screencap of that scene real quick lmao).

But honestly that would be a very convincing gag with the groundwork Tan Jiu’s done establishing him as a character who is irritated by Qi Fang’s accomplishments and popularity. 

Tattletale truly is such an enjoyable character and I truly would love to see more of him. He’s certainly my favorite side character (which is saying something considering my great love of Qin Xiong and his upperclassman). This is rapidly becoming a giant character analysis on Tattletale so I’m going to tack on a ‘keep reading tab’ and continue.

If you’re reading this then for whatever reason you’ve decided to indulge my ramblings and have henceforth won my affections forever, whatever that’s worth lmao. 

The trope involving the strait-laced, studious character who’s annoyed by a classmate who naturally has all of the assets they lack (e.g. social clout, charisma) in addition to academic excellence (read: the one thing they prided themselves in) is one that has been done to death but is also one I am a complete sucker for.

 I reckon most of us (with the obvious exception of, say, Beyoncé) have encountered someone who is better at us at something we are good at and know how devastating that can be, especially if you pin a large part of your identity around it. 

That sort of reality check is as true-to-life as it is entertaining to read about. Add that to the fact that, in DnD terms, Tattletale is the lawful good (student officer, moral exemplar) to Sun Jing and Qi Fang’s chaotic good (class clowns, troublemakers) and *shenanigans ensue*. 

No[t only that, Tattletale is a genuine, good-hearted person who always strives to do the right thing even if the results are often comical.

 Ironically his earnestness is probably a large part of why he doesn’t have the same appeal (at least on the surface level) to his foil in Qi Fang, who has thus far been portrayed as fairly aloof and disinterested in gaining good grades and popularity, but gets them anyway because he’s just that cool. This dynamic is also quite common in rom-coms as the competition, perceived or otherwise, often serves as an impetus for romantic tension build-up (Last Game, Special A, Kaguya-sama, Kaichou Wa Maid-sama, etc.) which I suspect is what fuels the fire for a lot of shipping of Tattletale and Qi Fang in the TDG fandom. Add on the fact that the two have great chemistry from what little we’ve seen of them interacting in TDG and, oh look --- the ship has left the harbor!

Whether you perceive Qi Fang and Tattletale’s relationship as romantic or not you’ve got to admit they have amazing back-and-forth dialogue and, like it or not, there is undeniably some queer subtext there too. I mean, come ON--- 

But I digress. The point I was trying to make before I quickly got sidetracked in my need to gush about Tattletale, is this: I love this imagine and think it would be very on-brand for Tattletale to try to pull off a more ‘cool’ persona and dress up in, for example, streetwear fashion in an attempt to rebel and separate himself from his reputation as the serious student officer:

But of course this wouldn’t work as his classmates are already acquainted with who he is and would see through him. While they’re undoubtedly fond of him and would probably be amused by his attempt to be rebellious it would of course not have the desired reaction because as you said it would be clear this would not be natural for him. Gosh I love imagining these scenarios, anon please feel free to submit them whenever you’d like because they are SO GREAT.

Hey there, y’all!  I’m going to kick this blog off with a little bit of info about me.  My name’s Miranda and I’m what you’d call a ‘casual gamer.’  I play all kinds of things, but what I play and how I play is based purely on personal enjoyment.  I’m not a competitive person, by any means, and I’m just as likely to play a Hidden Object game as I am to play an MMO.  My very first computer games came as part of a package on my parents’ Tandy 1000.  I was no older than 3 or 4 and I LOVED the drawing program, which was a bit like a digital Etch-a-Sketch, but you could change the color you were using as you went.

We were never without a computer in my house from that point onward, and it wasn’t long before my parents started buying actual games to play.  I quickly became a fan of Sierra Online, and cut my ‘baby gamer’ teeth on classics such as Winnie the Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood, The Black Cauldron, and Donald Duck’s Playground.  ;)  When I got old enough to read/comprehend, I also enjoyed a handful of text-based games, my favorite probably being The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, though I vaguely recall playing the first Zork game and another fantasy game that my mom checked out from the library, but I could never beat before we had to return it.  >.<  LOL!

Anyway, this is all to say, that I’ve been enjoying various kinds of games for my whole life.  I play a game for one of two reasons (usually) - story and/or art style.  My tastes haven’t changed over the years, but I feel that they’ve broadened.  This new blog is a way for me to share some of the things I experience in the games I play.  Maybe it’s a cool landscape, or a favorite scene, or an awesome creation that some other user has set up for the enjoyment of others - whatever it is, it’s something that I think is worth sharing.

All of that said, I don’t expect this blog to get a lot of traction.  I kind of view it as more of a personal photo album of gaming memories.  If you happen across something you see and like, please feel free to reblog it.  ^_^  I would ask, however, that you keep any negative opinions to yourself.  If you don’t like the game, or the company or any of the people involved with the making of said games, or whatever else - don’t voice your negativity here.  That isn’t what this blog is about for me, and I’m not above blocking people in order to keep my blog free of those kinds of attitudes.
