Hawk leaving all of his things at the hospital when Skippy was sick because he stayed there with him full time. The same Hawk who after Lucy had Jackson, went home to shower and was not present like that for her. If he wanted to he would, but he never had that love for Lucy even when she gave him a child, so he never did.
watching fellow travelers was SO HARD bc i had to confront the fact that if Matt Bomer treated me this badly it would also take me like 20 years to get over him.
Inspired by a very specific scene from Fellow Travellers.
So ..this guy (let's call him xyz) from work hits on Varadha casually. ..like not even flirting .. Just a casual how you doing...
Varadha comes home from work and tells Deva about the new friend at work and how he's really friendly and nice....Deva just grunts a monosyllabic uh-huh
Cut to few minutes later
Deva (thrusting inside Varadha): Who do you belong to?? Say it.
Varadha (panting): You..you...oh my God...you!!!
Deva(increasing his pace, literally ramming into Varadha) : Say my name..
Varadha (almost losing it): Deva..Devaaa!!!!
Deva (at the brink ): Say the full name. Say it!!
Varadha(vision blurring, at the edge..like seconds away): DEVA..RATHA..RA..I.SAR!!!
the choice of music in fellow travelers is just so brilliant… using Stevie Wonder’s if it’s magic, for the opening scene, including the notable line “if it’s magic/then why can’t it be everlasting?” (not to mention the lyric change in the final chorus: “if it’s magic/why can’t we MAKE it everlasting?) And then proceeding to tell a love story over the span of nearly 40 years and both explicitly and sub-textually detailing all of the reasons it couldn’t be made everlasting. And that’s just in the first five minutes. Insanity.
I really think fellow travellers had the best possible finale for all the characters on the show. However, I just really wish we got to see Hawk actually say I love you to skippy, it would’ve meant so much to him. And maybe Marcus and Frankie at the AIDS memorial quilt, showing a happy end after everything they went through.
