modern steddie where everyone moves off and unless they live near each other, they don’t really talk as much as they used to. robin and steve of course live together in the city on one of the coasts.

robin, like the others, will reach out every now and then and chat with some people from the old group, get coffee when they’re in town. steve, however, has apparently dropped off the face of the earth.

he doesn’t text, doesn’t call, he’s not on social media, nothing. they’re hurt, yeah, but if that’s what he needs to heal, so be it.

but robin IS on social media. and she’s been posting these pictures for the past year and a bit of her and her “best friend” as her captions label them. it’s not steve. it’s a girl. a really pretty girl with these big brown eyes and long, wavy brown hair that she likes to throw blonde highlights in to. she’s got all these freckles and moles and wears the cutest dresses and sandals seemingly everywhere they go.

her name is evie, according to the tagged account evieinthesky. sometimes robin will throw a full “evangeline” in comments and captions.

the rest of the party have seen the photos of evangeline, they even ask robin if she wants to invite her out when they visit but she always has an excuse ready why she can’t.

but then robin gets a comment on a pic of her and evie.

As the wind and the rain whipped against the rocks, Eddie found himself drenched to the bone stuck on the island with no shelter and no way to leave until a wave crashed against the shore knocking him from his feet. He tumbled into the water and as he tried desperately to reach the surface something grabbed him pulling him into the depths below. A silent scream left him as his vision went black and when he woke he was in a cavern, he looked around noting the ethereal glow of the rock formation surrounding him and heard a giggle. When he sat up he saw a beautiful chestnut haired woman floating in the water some few feet away, she smiled and he gulped, noticing rows of sharp teeth, but she didn't seem to radiate danger. 

A few other heads popped up through the water, he noticed a man with rich blue hair and large dark eyes eyeing him warily, before coming closer to the edge and lifting up to reveal a long dark blue tail covered in spikes.

“Why were you on our island?” The man spoke, he clearly was the leader of these… fish… people? Eddie had no idea what was happening, but he felt like he'd stumbled onto something far stranger than he'd ever anticipated the one time he chose to go fishing.

When Stevie Harrington was nine years old, she wrote her future self a list on the front page of her diary. The title of the list read

RULES FOR STEVIE’S FUTURE HUSBAND

and it felt necessary to her nine-year-old self to have this list. Sure, she was young, but she wasn’t dumb. Her parents weren’t like Tommy’s parents who had date nights and kissed each other every time they said goodbye. Stevie’s parents never hugged or kissed each other (or her). And sure, they spent all their time together, but they never looked happy. No, they were always angry, and no matter what Stevie did she couldn’t figure out why. 

(At least, not until Tina Kline’s birthday party.) 

And as soon as she returned home from the party, she ran up to her room and started her list because Stevie Harrington wanted to fall in love someday, she wanted to have a house and a husband who was nice like Tommy’s dad, so it was important that she remembered the Rules.

1. He couldn’t be too old

(They’re ten years apart in age, she heard Mrs. Kline say. That’s just such a large age gap. It’s no wonder that it’s not working, they’re clearly at two very different stages in their lives.)

2. He couldn’t travel all the time for work

(It’s not the age gap that’s the problem, dear, Mrs. Hagan had scoffed back at her. It’s all of Richard’s frequent ‘business trips.’ It’s hard to have a family or a relationship if your husband is never around.)

and most importantly,

3. Any guy who dated around too much before was BAD NEWS

(Girls, we all know what the real problem is, and it has nothing to do with how old Richard is or how much he travels, Mrs. Perkins spoke with determination. Richard has never had a serious relationship in his life. We all know that he made it abundantly clear he was never interested in settling down. He had a new girl every week and she was one of them, for god’s sake! A tiger doesn’t change his stripes and Victoria was a fool to think a baby would change that.

Maybe if they’d had a son, Mrs. Kline had offered, but then they noticed Stevie was there and they stopped talking.)

It was a short list, but it was a good place to start. And as Stevie grew older she added more on to it, like make sure he wears deodorant and has to be a good dancer and never date a guy with a mullet (looking at you, Billy Hargrove.) And that’s not even to mention her large period of self-growth after college when Robin finally convinced her to go to therapy to talk about her family issues, at which point she added on you deserve someone who loves and appreciates everything about you and doesn’t just use you for sex (and fuck, that was a hard and painful lesson to learn. It also put a bit of a damper on dating in her early-twenties but, well, seeing the quality of man that was out there? It was probably for the best. She didn’t want to be Victoria Harrington, after all.)

So why, if Stevie had this list, if she’d had all of these years of preparation, if she knew exactly what she wanted – and more importantly, what she didn’t want – then why, at the age of twenty-six, was Stevie Harrington falling headfirst into a relationship with a world famous rock star who was

1. Twelve years her senior

2. Currently on tour and

3. Had a long, long string of famous (and infamous) ex-lovers?

(And why was her heart telling her that despite all evidence to the contrary, Eddie Munson was going to be the exception to all her rules?)

dustin gets the text while he’s sitting in his dorm writing an essay for class. the familiar bird tweet sound he had set up just for her. immediately, he’s closing his laptop more forcefully than he should have and jumped to begin packing his bag.

because dinner at robin’s??? with evie??? the evie?! they’d all been waiting for the day, putting bets on it even, when robin would let one of them meet who they all knew was her new girlfriend. and he was the first. he had the proof right there.

who was this girl robin was claiming was her “best friend” but wouldn’t let anyone meet? where was steve? did evie know? god, he couldn’t wait.

lucas couldn’t have come back from class at a better time. of course, he has will in tow. dustin spins on his heel, a devious smirk on his lips. “boys,” he says, drawing out the o.

“what’s up with you?” lucas asks, furrowing his brows as he locked the door to his and dustin’s dorm. will say himself on the edge of lucas’s bed, eyeing dustin suspiciously.

“guess who’s meeting evie!” dustin shouts before he can stop himself, his smirk turning into a wide grin.

“what?! how is that fair at all?!” lucas exclaims and chucks his bag on his bed, wincing at will’s flinch.

“robin invited me for dinner at her and evie’s place and even said i can stay the night!” dustin laughed.

“how do you even know evie is going to be there?” will asked and tipped his head to the side slightly.

“robin told me herself,” dustin said proudly. he turns back to his suitcase, smirking at the annoyed grumbling behind his back.

Written for the STWG prompt motivation:

"But I don't want to do my exercises. It hurts and it makes me hot and sweaty and not even in a fun way," Eddie whines, draping himself over the treadmill dramatically. "It sucks and I hate it."

This had been a near daily fight since Eddie had gotten out of the hospital. Despite the doctors insistence that the walking would help him regain the strength in his legs, Eddie was having none of it. He would whine and fuss and kick his feet like a toddler having a tantrum. Stevie is at her wit's end. She knew her boyfriend hated exercising but this was getting ridiculous.

"Baby, I know, but you need to do it so you can get your strength back. It's only for six weeks, and if you show improvement, you may not have to anymore," she tries, pitching her voice a little higher. It was like dealing with a child.

Which... maybe that was part of the problem. Maybe she was coming at this from the wrong angle. Time to switch tactics.

"Tell you want..." she purrs, which suddenly makes Eddie sit up straighter from where he was still lamenting on the treadmill. "For every hundred steps you do, I'll take off a piece of clothing. And once I'm naked, if you finish your allotted... I'll let you do whatever you want to me. How's that for motivation?"

"Anything?" Eddie asks eagerly. He gets to his feet and starts fiddling with the buttons on the treadmill.

"Anything we've done or already discussed."

Eddie's face goes a little pink. "Even the thing with your tongue?"

Stevie nods, delighted. "Even the thing with my tongue. Maybe I'll even ride you after, since you'll be so tired from being such a good boy."

Eddie gulps and she can hear the treadmill whir to life. He starts walking , shaky as he is, but now he's got a determined look on his face.

She can't not reward such good behavior. She pulls her t-shirt tight over her chest, her tits and the outline of her nipples practically visible through the thin material. It draws Eddie's attention down and she giggles when his eyes go wide watching her tits bounce. "Just a sneak peek," she teases.

Eddie keeps staring, mindlessly walking and following every single movement of her tits and hips.

She should have done this ages ago. "Keep it up, baby," she coos. Stevie thumbs at the hem of her shirt, pulling it up to reveal the tanned expanse of her stomach and the tiny little panties she's wearing, the one Eddie really likes to take off with his teeth. "Almost there."

Eddie moans, his steps faster, the tent forming in his sweats getting more and more visible.

Stevie just grins.
