Swampkit is cranky little thing. She hates being told what to do— someone is always on her case about cleaning up her fur, not biting so hard, putting that disgusting thing back where you found it. They never understand her deep-seated need to collect unique treasures. Pretty rocks, cool bugs, smooth bones and other bits and pieces are carefully hidden away so that adults don’t take them away from her.

Oh dear its happened again. Before a con, again. ICYMI I have raised and rehomed 4 sets of feral kittens at this apartment because of the uncontrolled colony next door. Gotta get supplies, help is appreciated!

I need wet food, litter, more towels, and more bottle nipples. I already keep kitten milk powder in the fridge. Its gonna take me at least 2 hrs to de-flea them all. Sorry for the gunk, had to drag them out of an old flowerpot.

Hey, so you know those videos of people finding little feral kittens and think "wow I wish that could happen to me?"

Well it happened to me last night

They're at least two months old give or take, skinny, but they're very terrified of humans. I've been looking up ways to take care of feral kittens and how to get them acclimated to humans without forcing it (I know it takes time and I don't want to stress the little one too much).

Does anybody have any tips? Any advice, or things to look out for? I'm definitely going to take them to a vet to get checked on as soon as I can. However until then any advice or tips would be most helpful!

Thornkit was likely everyone’s least favorite addition to the queen’s den. Enthusiastically she explored her surroundings with fang and claw first— no leaf, rock, queen nor kit was spared from her needle-toothed inspections. Lacking malice (or any sort of forethought at all, really), her behavior frequently confused and annoyed those around her. Queens were relieved when the calico menace finally moved into the apprentice den.

Her impulse control didn’t see much improvement as she grew older but, thankfully, that feral energy was redirected away from her clan mates. For the most part.

I haven’t finished her adult ref yet, but here’s the colored sketch. Her design is inspired by bearded vultures.
