💌 Send this to the twelve nicest people you know or who seem to have a good heart and if you get five back you must be pretty awesome. 💌
Thank you 😘
And greetings from Portugal! Last day of my Erasmus course here though, tomorrow I'll have to go back home to 8 degrees 🥶 (and my cats 😊).

I love mandalas. Their symbolism of unity and flow inspires me especially when the colors are so vibrant and the geometry so stunning. These were on exhibit in #ferragudo I must return and bring one home. Which one is your favorite and why? #mandalas #art #algarvelove #nothingisordinary #slowlivinginportugal @slow_living_in_portugal (at Ferragudo, Faro, Portugal) https://www.instagram.com/p/Co13YdCufn1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Kleines Mittagessen in Ferragudo

she is in Portugal
Dear Portugal Anon,
I deleted three of your submissions and published the Canada Day one. You sent them to *urv, too and I suggest to stick with that destination.
I am not interested by what a very ephemeral side player is doing. Miss Universe or not.
If anything, that should scream transactional, Anon. And some money on the side during her Summer European tour (she went on one last year, too: it included Paros, the main Greek destination for Wannabe Posers). But I sometimes wonder if any of you, gullible women, ever had a real relationship, in your entire lives.
PS: She is in Ferragudo, a fishing village of the Algarve region. That, *urv is too parochial to tell you, Anon. ⛵, 🦐, ☀️ and 🆕💰. Not with S, never will.

Vial of Forbidden Knowledge
Chest: May the following hereby be known: Ferragudo Mateus, sorcerer’s apprentice, has fled the realm’s custody. His whereabouts remain unknown. Mateus is guilty of crimes against the village and the temple of the Lionhead Spider. Cursed by gods and man alike, he shall not be permitted to escape the righteous vise of justice. Thus we proclaim: Any who offers aid or shelter to the fugitive Mateus shall suffer punishment of equal measure.”
Scroll 1: From the moment I spied the box, nestled in the grass, its unblinking eye staring back at me, I recognized the work of a master craftsman. Subtle peculiarities of its design pointed to some distant origin, a realm unknown to me. And clearly not carved with human hands, of that I was certain. In truth, it appeared no different from a simple coffret, perhaps even a jewelry box, and yet somehow I knew there must be… more. Indeed, a puzzle box of some sort – a riddle! I know now I’d be a fool not to see! As I gazed upon it then, my mind raced and my heart quickened. Realizing the purpose of its existence was only the first step in uncovering its deeper mysteries. I was roused from my thoughts by a sudden gust from behind, a light tap on my shoulder – it was the iron-shod boot of the hanged man, swaying in the wind. I quickly plucked the box from the ground, slipped it into my pack and mounted my horse to make for the ferry. The clouds were heavy, the storm poised to break. I needed to cross the river.
Scroll 2: Yet if the gods dare not tempt fate, then why, I ask, should a humble traveler? Particularly when the path to a brighter future has just been laid before him? Thus, when the sky cracked open above me, I abandoned hope of catching the ferry and sought refuge within the walls of a cemetery mausoleum. With naught but time until the storm passed, I opened my pack and reached for my new prize. With slow, deliberate fingers, I spent untold time feeling for mechanisms or triggers that might cleverly hide in its ornamentation, its seams… Nothing! Not a wood grain out of place! Then epiphany struck – I musn’t look from close, but rather far! From beyond the box! The mausoleum – it serves as a likeness of it. The space around us – a projection of me. And I – the riddle to be solved! Yes! Using the spoon placed in my hand, I removed my left eye without delay, placing it on the catafalque opposite me to complete my vantage. At that moment, I gained absolute clarity. I could truly see.
Scroll 3: Yes yes yes! This box could be none other than a hitherto unknown type of puzzle – a relativity riddle, of course! And I was on the brink of cracking it at last when that damnable band of interlopers disrupted by concentration. Fortunately, I’d already learned the truth of the coffret’s many nooks and panels. I knew the drawers on its side could deliver me from this inconvenience. Peering through the eye I’d placed opposite me, I could see—like through some distant window—as I parted the earth around the mausoleum, shifting and folding, those armed miscreants disappearing into the chasms. Hah! After rotating and extending a second drawer, from that same soil I unleashed an otherworldly horde to silence the stragglers. As my army of undead soldiers tore sinew from bone and shrieked into the dark, the mausoleum’s thick walls spared me the noise so I might, at last, lift the box’s lid to face my final challenge.
Scroll 4: I know now the solution could never have been found immediately nor easily. There could be no half-measures, no path to enlightenment beyond the one I followed. As newborn babes must communicate first through cries and wails, so must young children through singular words, simple concepts. Only later, once grown, can man fathom the depths of complexity. In the end, I did not solve the box’s riddle. No, it solved mine. It revealed in me how easy it is to break one’s bones, to fold them, to tie muscles into knots and bends, to mold flesh into timeless ornamentation! To find one’s face beneath the lid, squeezed into a frame drawn from intestines and, in a final flourish, to retrieve one’s unshackled eye, displaying it prominently at the heart of creation – ever watchful. Now, as I close this lid, I cast a final triumphant glance at the stony sky above me and rejoice in my life’s greatest achievement… the chance to offer a riddle.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
