Lexi lets out a long sigh, loud enough that her husband notes her from the corner of his eye and swears under his breath at his underboss. “Frankie, you gon’ and pissed off my wife by keepin’ me on the phone so long,” Fez says, wiping a hand down his face. “Nah man, she ain’t wanna hear yo’ apologies. Just try an’ talk business with Fredo or Ash until I get back stateside, aight?” With a surprisingly precise aim, Lexi tosses a crumpled up napkin at the side of Fezco’s head as he’s hanging up his call. “The fuck?” Lexi hums innocently, diverting her eyes back towards the rain splattered windows. Out across the open seas lightning strikes, scattering across the darkened skies despite it not even being noon. It’s a shame just how gorgeous the view is considering it’s completely wasted on two people who are totally unaffected by the romance it inspires. She lets out a wistful, almost disappointed sigh when she says. “I can see why you talk about dissent in your ranks.” “Whatchu mean?”

Fezco O'Neil had not seen the small town of East Highland in fifteen years...not since his grandmother had taken him away to live with her in the equally small town of Oakland. Taken him away from the violence.

He had not planned on ever returning no matter how much the guilt plagued him...ate at him until he felt there was nothing left but sinew and bone. fezco loved his brother Ash dearly but his sanity wouldn't allow him to take it any longer.

So when the news of his younger brothers mysterious death reached him he knew he had no choice but to return and face his demons. To find closure once and for all and make amends with the others he had to leave behind all those years ago.

Paul O'Neil was a ruthless man, Fezco was well aware of this, as well as the townfolk; and was more than likely behind his brother's tragic end. It was now up to Fezco to figure out the truth with the help of an old flame, miss Lexi Howard.

Unfortunately, nothing is ever that simple. And Fezco's brother isn't the only poor soul to fall victim to the reaper's sickle...or more accurately...claws.

The Fire and the Thud 

Eight years. That’s how long it’s been since Lexi last saw her ex-boyfriend, briefly ex-fiance. Struggling with her writing career in LA, she decides it’s time to move back home to East Highland, knowing it will bring her back to the setting of her biggest regret - her decision to end things with Fezco due to outside pressure from her family. Theoretically, she knows they were right, but her heart has never healed. What will happen when they’re forced to interact again, thrown together by their overlapping social circle? Does Fezco still hate her, as he rightfully should? Or will he be indifferent to her because she meant that little to him, their puppy love a passing fancy? Can Lexi be brave and hide her yearning for him behind a carefully curated expression? Or can their love stand the test of time, able to overcome ego, pride, and meddlesome friends and family?

“Ethan promised there was gonna be no funny business tonight. Patrols have been quite the whole fuckin’ week.”  An annoyed-looking Lexi snatches the joint right out of his hand, stubbing the thing out against the stone foundation before handing it back to him. Lexi’s always been more or less annoyed with him since the start of freshman year - when Fez came back to school after taking a near year off post crowbar incident. Technically he should have been a sophomore, but he’d missed so much school during his recovery that school thought it was best to give him a re-do as a freshman. It’s not to say Lexi wasn’t friendly at the start exactly - it was more that she worked her ass off in school and here Fez was, losing a whole academic year, breezing through the classes she was putting so much effort in. Their academic rivalry was a fun little game for him that year, mighta even made him a better student n’ shit. Also, he liked seeing her all flustered cause of him. Still does.

An 18th Century Venice AU ~ Euphoria, but make it Masquerade Balls and Courtesans and Casinos 

The next card came. Nine of Hearts. Lexi's mouth turned down as the dealer gathered the small prize between his fingers. 

The man beside her tapped on the table, then pulled a bright gold coin from his pocket and placed it beside her. “Try again.”

She shook her head, taking a quick glance around to find Maddy again. She was still feeling uneasy about the prospect of accepting money from another strange man. “I cannot accept-”

“Try again,” he whispered forcefully. His voice was gruff but not mean.

She shrugged and hurled an “All right” in his direction, suddenly annoyed by his gall. A stranger, treating her like he could make commands. “But you must know the odds, sir. And I won’t be careful with your money.”

A delighted laugh spilled from the man. “Hope you won’t be careful.”

She glanced over to see his full lips parting to reveal a small gap between his teeth. Just beneath the bottom of the mask she noted the ginger scruff of a trimmed beard. Likely attractive beneath the mask, not that she cared to peak under it.
