So a little bit about Kwaszits:

The bolds:

She doesn't believe anyone can be too old for a children's story. And she prefers the simpler words.

Comics and Graphic Novels? They have pictures. Even if she can't understand the words she can certainly look at the pictures.

Fantasy and Fiction? She likes hearing about the tales of adventurers and a lot of them seem fairly far fetched from a non-adventurer's perspective.

Kwas loves romance novels. She loves the pining, the slow burns, the love at first sights, Romeo and Juliet type stuff.

The italics:

These are underneath a bunch of assumptions.

Chick lits I don't think are things Kwas would often look at now, but maybe once or twice when she was a teen.

Art depends on what constitute as "art". Are we including making forms of art like say jewelry making, knitting, quilting, embroidery, etc or just plain drawing/sketch/painting books to learn from or just plain picture books of art? If its the broad strokes, it'd probably be a bold instead. If its the latter two, again, once or twice but not often.

Cookbooks are only when she wants to make something and nothing else.

Historical fiction will depend on the plot.

Humor/comedy I think she would be interested in, but I've also never read either of those kinds of books (because they don't really appeal to me, I'd rather watch a comedy/satire) so maybe.

Nonfiction and science are probably where her instruction manuals and DIYs are put in, but they're also other things in there so italics.

Science fiction is not as good as Fantasy/Fiction but I think she'd read a handful.

Travel books only for the newest place she's heading to and never again.

The only one I wanna talk about here is the gay/lesbian one because... well if its under romance she'll probably read it, but she's not going to go out of her way to find them.

Poetry only for the sin of having problems understanding them. I think she'd find them pretty cute/interesting if she sat down and gave them a chance.

Warfare is obvious. She's a lovegobbie. Not a fighter.

Paranormal? Kwas is a coward. She HATES ghosts. (cocoa ghost only exception and only cause he's been nice and giving her cocoa) She wants nothing to do with any of it - demons, cryptids, ghosts, all of that gives her nightmares and if I didn't know any better I'd say they could induce her into a panic.

Horror is pretty much the same thing. She doesn't like the idea of something going bump in the night, anything to do with the likes of things like slasher fics or murder mysteries or anything that could make her think not twice but four times over being alone with a chocobo on the road going to the next town. Her gobbieheart can't take it.

none has been mostly restored !! still tweaking their outfits and their 'makeup' but i missed them. now there are two sad, wet creatures in the rotation.

can you explain what's with this zenos guy that you liked the card so much

TLDR; zenos is a guy that gets his ass beat one (1) time and immediately becomes emotionally attached to the player character to the point of absurdity. and by absurdity i mean He Wants You. he wants you so fucking bad. he fuses with a god-dragon, comes back from the dead like three separate times, and jumpstarts the end of the world all so he can get your attention and have Just One More Battle against you. he insistently calls the player his first and only friend and he's actively upset when you ignore him to combat the end of the world- an end he jumpstarted as an attention-seeking maneuver- because it means he isn't getting the fulfillment he wants. then a teenager tells him he's cringe and he genuinely takes that to heart and proceeds to turn back into a dragon, fly to the edge of the universe, show up just in time to help you combat the embodiment of despair (long story), and save the world he nearly ended just because he's finally realized it's the only way to get your attention long enough for the fight he's always dreamed of. he's simultaneously the player's biggest opponent as well as their greatest supporter. he has unwavering faith in his ""friend"" to face whatever challenge dares to oppose them and god forbid if that challenge isn't himself. he's an absolute lunatic that NEEDS to be put in his place, and his ultimate death at the player's hands is a result of his own unwavering obsession with facing them in all-out combat to the point of becoming universal enemy number one just so he's worth fighting in the first place.

and when you look at the zenos MTG card, it captures all of this perfectly.

when he enters the field, he arbitrarily picks one (1) opponent to soulbond himself to, and brushes aside everyone else in the vicinity. note how he transforms only when they leave, not when they explicitly die- simply getting banished from the battlefield is enough to transform him! he gets mad when his friend walks away! he actively seeks them out and becomes a gamewide threat just so he can face them head on! and, as that threat, he immediately becomes public enemy number one, forcing the other players to either band together and beat him and/or protect his chosen target with their (literal) lives. he's Literally a transcendent rival. he's threatening to end the world just so he can have his desired fight to the death. he's the perfect translation of a self-obsessed maniac becoming obsessed with someone to the point of absurdity and it is so fucking peak.

A Neon-Drenched Nameday

"Arsay!" Lehon'a exclaimed as she caught up to the other Miqo'te, stopping her on the streets of True Vue. "A little chocobo told me it's your nameday today, is that right?"

"Sure, that's true. Why do you ask?"

"Well..." A grin grew across Lehon'a's face as she pulled a couple slips of paper from her jacket pocket. "A friend of mine is playing this new music made using Alexandrian tech at a club just down the way, and I thought maybe we might celebrate with a night of dancing and drinks!" She pointed to the establishment as she spoke, not even remotely hiding her enthusiasm for the idea. "They gave me two tickets, so this one's got your name on it."

"Sounds like fun, so let's do it!" Arsay replied, plucking one of the tickets from Lehon'a's grip with a smile.

The club's lighting echoed the same neon pink and blue color scheme present all across the city, though the contrast was intensified by the lack of ambient light inside. The DJ booth stood to one side of the space, elevating its occupant above the dancefloor, and a few scattered tables sat opposite. There was a small crowd gathered already, most likely the die-hard fans and true party animals.

A hrothgar in reflective glasses climbed up in front of the DJ equipment, and nearly everyone in the club turned their attention to her.

"Come on, we made it just in time!" Lehon'a said in a hushed tone, waving Arsay to the front of the crowd. "The sound right here is the best, and we should have enough room to let loose."

Her train of thought was cut off as the voice of an announcer came over the sound system: "Solution Nine, make some noise! For one night only: the sensational, the electric, the queen of bumpin' beats herself: DJ Stardust!"

Lehon'a and Arsay shared a look that grew into a pair of wicked grins as the first song began to play, and it wasn't long before the whole crowd was swept up into the futuristic melodies and driving rhythms of the music, and all but the most stubborn of wallflowers were on their feet and on the dancefloor.

As the night eventually wound to a close many hours and dance moves later, Lehon'a closed her eyes, drinking in the last outro of DJ Stardust's final song. Try hard as she might, she just couldn't imagine a better time than sharing the dancefloor with a friend. Happy nameday, Arsay! Hope we can do this again sometime, she thought to herself, opening her eyes to see Arsay offering one last round of applause to the DJ before the party's end.

Gosh, I went like so unbelievably overboard with this! I originally just had the initial invitation shots, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I had the itch to do more. I figured why not take advantage of the Neon Stein's existing setup and do an action shot... which quickly involved adding some S9 NPCs to fill in the crowd. and then adding Wuk Lamat and Koana and Gulool Ja as little easter eggs. and then @a-pink-beau because Gulool Ja shouldn't be unaccompanied. and then @reversalsun and @godspeedwagon and another mutual friend. and then G'raha and Y'shtola because I had to. and then my other wol as the DJ cause I couldn't find the DJing loporrit in Brio.

Before I knew it this scene had like twenty actors and it's by far the most involved thing I've done (thought tbh it didn't feel like it took that long), and it was all just thanks to a little nameday request! All of this bluster to say: happy nameday Arsay ( @wildstar25 )! I look forward to seeing many more of her adventures in the future and the amazing poses you come up with, they really are inspiring.

Anyway. With that, I return to my cosplay cave for the next month, cause con is only a few weeks away, and I've got a Pitou to finish! I leave you with these alternate angles to show off a bit more of the background :3

Before I started playing XIV, I read someone's out-of-context tweet talking about things being duller without having some nasty little freak who's openly obsessed with the WoL like Emet or Haurche etc, and I was so blinded by ecstasy upon hearing that Emet would be obsessed with little ol' me, that I did not think upon it further than that, and foolishly came to the conclusion that Haurchefant was going to be a villain,,,,,,
