well, I finally finished the December Klaine Challenge fic! I will proofread, edit, & post tomorrow (Saturday). as of right now, without edits, it's just under 9k words. I can't wait to share it. I'm so glad I got it done before the end of the year!

I managed to add 841 words to the December Klaine Challenge fic I've been working on today. I can cross off 3 more words from the list now too. so I still have 7 words left. but I feel good about the story so far.

I need to keep myself motivated and hold myself accountable for this December Klaine Challenge fic I'm working on (even though the event is technically over). so... update on the story:
so far I have used the first 8 words, and have just under 3,100 words written. I really want to finish & post it before the new year, so I feel like if I make a post on my blog about the story, and my progress on it, then I won't give up on writing it because there may be someone looking forward to it, and I don't want to disappoint anyone.
okay, now that I've written this post, back to writing the fic I go...

only one last chapter in my December Klaine Fanworks Challenge fic left to write!! I think I will hopefully be able to finish writing this story tomorrow. but I'm going to try to get some more of it written tonight, that way there's less to write tomorrow. so chances are that I will be able to post it on Saturday. I am really excited! I can't wait to finish it and get back to writing non-Christmasy things ;)

thank you for tagging me @forabeatofadrum! I am still chipping away at the December Klaine Challenge fic that I began writing last week. I've got about 3 sections of the story left to write - and the final 6 words of the challenge left to include. I'm hoping to get it done by the end of this week. I just need to stop getting distracted by other things.
I've previously shared 2 snippets from the first chapter, so here's a little bit from chapter 2:
-
Kurt and Caleb arrived at Santaland about fifteen minutes before Caleb’s reservation. They waited nearby while the other kids had their turn sitting on Santa’s lap and getting their pictures taken. While they waited, Kurt looked around and stifled a laugh when he recognized one of the elves. The elf in question was Blaine Anderson, a fellow camp counselor at the theater camp Kurt worked at during the summer. He caught Blaine’s eye and gave him a small wave. Blaine blushed in embarrassment, returned the wave, then quickly turned his attention back to Santa and the child he was talking to.
-
the chapters in this story vary wildly in length. the above paragraph is literally just under half of the chapter. while other chapters are close to 1k words, so I have no idea how long the story is going to be.

made some progress on the Klaine December Challenge fic that I've been working on. I have used the first 11 words of the challenge so far. and I have written 4,354 words. still hoping to get the rest of the story written this week. even though it will definitely not be ready in time for Christmas, I want to post it relatively close to the Holiday because it's a Christmas story. so fingers crossed that I can finish and post before the new year.

thanks for tagging me @forabeatofadrum! Merry Christmas, everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday! and if you don't celebrate Christmas, then I still hope you have a fantastic day!
I worked on my December Klaine Event fic a little more this week, and I'm almost halfway through the list of words. so here are 6 sentences from the first chapter:
-
“Caleb is supposed to get his picture taken with Santa over at Macy’s today,” Rachel told Kurt. “I need you to take him there for me. I won’t get back in time to take him myself.”
“You want me to take a 6-year-old into an overcrowded department store two days before Christmas? Where we’ll have to wait in a line a half-mile long just to see some guy dressed in red polyester and a fake beard, who probably wishes he was anywhere else? All while there are screaming children, annoyed parents, and frustrated last-minute shoppers running all over the place?"

thanks for tagging me @forabeatofadrum. despite today being the last day of the daily word prompts (there is still a weekly song prompt coming tomorrow), I actually began writing a new story for the December Klaine Challenge. I started writing it on Tuesday, but I don't know if I'll be using all of the words or not. I guess it depends on how long the story winds up being? I didn't think that far ahead to be honest. I just started writing without a plan. I also didn't work on the story at all yesterday, but I plan on working on it some more tonight. not sure when I'll be done or post it, but (hopefully) it will be before the end of the year?? I already have a title, and I made a little title card banner for it too. I won't say what the title is, because I don't want to give away the story just yet, but here's a non-spoilery snippet for you:
-
Kurt warily glanced at his phone when it began ringing just as he sat down for breakfast. It was Saturday morning, who could possibly be calling him this early on a weekend? Noticing his sister-in-law’s name on the caller ID, he let out a heavy sigh. If Rachel was calling him this early, it could only mean one thing – she needed him to babysit his nephew.
“Good morning, Rachel,” Kurt said, answering his phone with a tired voice.
“Kurt, I need a huge favor!”
“Let me guess, you need me to babysit Caleb?”
“Yes, please. I got a callback for that new Broadway musical I auditioned for, and I have to be there in two hours. If I don’t make this callback, they won’t be able to see me again until after the New Year. And if I wait that long, they may change their minds and go with someone else. I really want this part! Finn is already at work, so he can’t call-out; and I can’t take Caleb with me. I don’t have anyone else to watch him,” Rachel replied.

thank you for tagging me @cerriddwenluna & @forabeatofadrum! well, I just finished and posted my December Klaine Challenge Story, A Boyfriend for Christmas, yesterday, so I don't have anything new to share. I am currently taking a tiny break from writing right now. I'll continue working on Breaking Stereotypes once we start the new year. but in the interest of self promotion, here is the link & summary for A Boyfriend for Christmas:
A Boyfriend for Christmas
When Kurt takes his 6-year-old nephew, Caleb, to see Santa, he's mortified when Caleb asks Santa to give his Uncle Kurt a new boyfriend for Christmas; Blaine - who is working as one of Santa's helpers - however, is eager to help Caleb get his Christmas wish. (9,221 words / rated T)
