There was nothing but darkness filling the apartment when he walked past the front door, interrupted only by the lights of New York City that came through the impressive floor-to-ceiling window. Dropping the keys on the side table by the door, Kurt Hummel went towards the window as he loosened his tie. He was tired.

It had been a long day, but then again, it was always a long day.

If there was one thing Kurt didn’t like, it was sounding like he was complaining, because he definitely wasn’t. He loved his job, felt such huge satisfaction from everything he got to do day after day, knew he was helping people, and that was absolutely priceless. But every day he left the office later and later, and the exhaustion began to pile up on his shoulders.

Still, his briefcase was filled with case files he needed to finish reviewing before he went into the office again in the morning. He had a court date coming up for his biggest case, and a bunch of meetings scheduled for the next week. His schedule was packed, and even if he was drained sometimes, so tired he felt like he could sleep for a whole year, he wouldn’t have it any other way.

If he stopped his busy schedule, if he let even a tiny little moment of emptiness in it, wouldn’t he be overwhelmed by the loneliness he still couldn’t quite learn to live with?

Kurt's gaze traveled across the room to the large window facing the street.  Blaine was looking out it, fidgeting slightly while smoothing down a truly hideous Ugly Christmas sweater that Tracy had picked out for him to wear.  He was too adorable for words.

While Blaine’s attention was focused on the view outdoors, Kurt silently crept up behind him.  He slid his arms around Blaine’s waist and placed his chin on the doctor’s shoulder.

"You're nervous," Kurt murmured softly into his ear.

Blaine sighed as he gripped Kurt’s arms tightly.  “Can you blame me?”

Kurt chuckled as he nuzzled the soft curls at the doctor’s temple.  “You don’t have to be nervous.  They won’t bite, I promise.”

Blaine swallowed loudly.  "It's your parents, Kurt. . . your Dad especially.  I think I have a right to be at least a bit intimidated.  I have a vested interest in him actually liking me.”

“He’s going to love you.  They both will.”

Hello! Could someone help me find this fic please?

Kurt and Blaine broke up and years later they see each other in the street (in New York) I kind of remember the story went from past (mostly Blaine and his ex’s and how he never was fully happy with them) and present, and how they go from talking, to having sex and finally getting back together.

I think Blaine is with his boyfriend when he runs into Kurt and they break up shortly after because the boyfriend realizes Blaine’s not over Kurt. But I’m not too sure about that part.

June feels the pressure of nimble fingers kneading into the sore spots on her shoulders and a soft sigh escapes her lips. Nora’s thumbs dig into the nap of June’s neck and she lets her head fall forward, gathering her long hair to the side to allow Nora more access.

“I’m sorry you had a rough day, June.” she says delicately, the cadence of her voice sending an involuntary shiver down June’s spine.

Soon, the ache in her neck becomes more bearable and she’s able to turn her head in the way her body wouldn’t let before. But June still feels a tension, though it’s different from what she felt before Nora worked her hands over her neck and back—a churn in her stomach that June has felt one too many times in the presence of her roommate.

June takes in a deep breath through her nose.

“Does that feel better?”

June hums in lieu of a response, her back still turned to Nora. Her hands never leave their place on June’s back, staying meticulously still as if they're trying to detect something under the surface of June’s ribs. She tries not to squirm under her touch, scared that Nora might be able to read right through her calm exterior.
