I unexpectedly had less time to work on fic than I originally thought I would, but I still managed to get a decent amount written - a lot more than I expected to. I am still on the same scene as I was when I stopped writing last night, but I'm feeling good about what I have and where I am.

✨Klaine Fanzine AU Prompts✨

Here are some prompts to help inspire artists and writers who wish to contribute new fanworks to Volume #1 of the Klaine Fanzine AU Series:

Theme: Alternate Universe Broadway/ Actor/ Musician/ Dancer/ Artist/ Model/ Fashion Designer/ Photographer

Prompts:

Billy Joel's Piano Man, except its a gay bar and it's Blaine who plays the piano and Kurt at the bar is a friend of his, who gets him his drinks for free. Could be historical, or modern. Writer/artists choice for whether Blaine knows it's a gay bar or if he's just really oblivious.

Kurt is a famous Broadway actor, and Blaine is a famous TV/film actor (or musician). Blaine goes to see Kurt's show, and they meet backstage afterward--lots of cute flirting ensues.

Broadway AU: Kurt shows up to a callback audition and internally starts freaking out because Blaine is in the waiting room for his own callback audition, and he has seen Blaine in musicals before and knows that he's a fantastic actor, so Kurt is nervous he won't get the part. But his fears are assuaged when he finds out that they are there for separate roles after they are brought in to do a chemistry read together, and they both get cast.

NYADA AU: Kurt is a dance student, and Blaine is an orchestra student. They are paired together for an assignment where Kurt has to create an original dance to an original piano piece composed by Blaine. They spend weeks doing private rehearsals together before performing their recital for an audience for their grade.

Word Count Calendar

I'm going to try to continue the writing calendar for this month because it really helps with making sure I actually get some writing done. and I really want to finish the Florist WIP. and despite the heat trying to melt my brain into a pile of goo, I actually managed to work on The Power of Flowers for a little while today.

it's been a while since I've worked on this story, and I'm not sure where my outline disappeared to, but I was still able to write about a page of the current chapter. but if I remember correctly, I'm about halfway done with this chapter, then I have the final chapter/epilogue left to write after that.

it's currently 102F (39C). I want to work on writing fic, but the heat is making thinking hard. I prefer to write on my desktop, but I do have a laptop that I could transfer the files to, and unlike the rest of my house, my living room has AC. so I thought I'd take my laptop there to write and enjoy the cool air. but now that I'm here, I've realized part of the reason I don't work in here often is because this room is too loud and there are too many other distractions which hinder my focus.

my town's library has AC, maybe I should take my laptop there to work on fic?

Word Count Calendar

I finished writing the fic for the Klaine Fanzine!! and it's within the word count limit; I didn't go over! I even did all of my proofreading and editing today as well. the story has officially been submitted to the zine along with a few manip graphics that I made.

I want this story to be a zine exclusive for the first month or so after publication, so it won't appear on my AO3 page until January 2026. it's only been a few hours since it was submitted, but it just feels so weird to have a completed fic sitting in my fanfic folder without any intention of publishing to AO3 right away.

but now, let's hope this burst of writing motivation lasts, and I can finish the rest of that Florist!Kurt fic that's sitting in my WIP folder.
