well, today, I finished the scene that I had been working on yesterday. that scene ended up being the final scene of the chapter. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to start working on the next chapter yet.

however, the next chapter was actually supposed to be part of the one that I just finished. I just didn't realize that something that I planned to only last for one (maybe two) quick scenes would actually take me an entire chapter to write. I had said a while ago that I only had about 6 chapters left to write, but obviously that was a lie - especially since a couple of those recent chapters were longer than anticipated and needed to be split into two separate chapters. so I took another look at what I have left to write, and there are seven story points remaining. some of them should only require one scene, while others will absolutely require an entire chapter. if -- and that's a big if -- I can write everything according to plan, I have 4 chapters left (although hopefully no more than 7)??

I finished writing the scene that I had started yesterday. then I stared the next scene, but I literally stopped writing in the middle of the first sentence of that new scene. I got distracted by a message on my phone, then completely forgot to go back to working on my WIP after. oops.
