Uso de la APP Files de Google:

files de google es una herramienta de gestión de archivos que fue desarrollada por google. anteriormente se le conocía como (Files Go). lo que hace esta herramienta es la de liberar espacio en android asi podremos  trabajar  cómodamente con todos los archivos y documentos que tengamos en la memoria de nuestro celular movil.  

ademas cabe mencionar que tambien nos quitaremos de en medio archivos duplicados o inútiles.

¿Cómo funciona Google Files?

Google Files se encarga  de cotejar el tamaño y fecha del archivo para determinar que 2 archivos son iguales. aunque tengan distintos nombres de archivos. usa files de google para liberar espacio en tu dispositivo o ya sea para explorar y compartir archivos.

Google is testing a new feature, i.e. a Safe Folder in Google files to hide private files. It seems that the testing of the safe folder in Google files begins, but not activated yet. By using this feature user can protect their secret files in the Safe folder in Google files. According to the family of XDA developers, this feature is yet to come up with the latest Google file app (v1.0.315).

Google Files is the best file manager app, which not only stores the file in an organized manner but can also be used to transfer the files quickly from one device to another. Every Android user will appreciate Safe Folder in Google files.

Hide Files with Safe Folder in Google Files

You can find the Safe Folder option inside the Collections tab at the Browser page. The folder allows you to save your important documents or secret files inside the Safe Folder in Google Files.

When you open the Safe folder for the first time, it will ask you to enter a four-digit PIN, and note the most important thing never forget that 4-digit PIN, you are allowed to forget everything else but not 4-digit PIN of Safe Folder in Google Files. Because there is no option saying, "Forget PIN?" to restore your PIN. After setting the PIN, you can select one or more files from the app and can easily tap on the "Move to safe folder" in the menu to save the files.

Moreover, if you delete or reinstall the Google Files from the smartphone, so forget all the files stored inside the Safe folder forever, because now you cannot restore those files anyway, the app will unable to recover the content previously stored inside the app.

The files are stored in the root directory of the external storage named .FilesByGoogle which is located at data/media/{user}, the folder seems to be encrypted itself so you can't restore the files which were previously stored (before reinstallation) in the Safe Folder in Google Files.

The Safe Folder is not available yet in the latest version of Google Files for the users. We can expect the feature will launch sooner rather than later.

Files by Google is a file manager app that has become the de facto default file manager for Google Pixel devices on Android 11 as the AOSP Files app is now only accessible from storage settings. The latest version of the APK started to roll out recently, and it was also uploaded to APKMirror. Version 1.0.315 reveals work on a new “Safe Folder” feature that will allow you to hide and encrypt files using a 4-digit PIN.

This is because these features are currently unimplemented in the live build and may be pulled at any time by the developers in a future build.

Strings for this feature were first spotted by 9to5Google earlier today, but we have fully enabled this feature in the Files by Google application. How it works is quite simple: A new “Safe Folder” button appears in the “Collections” section of the “Browse” tab. When you tap on the Safe Folder, you’ll be asked to set a 4-digit PIN. Once you set a PIN, it warns you that you can’t open the Safe Folder again if you forget the PIN. After setting up a PIN, you can move files by selecting one or more of them and then choosing “Move to Safe folder” in the menu.

Under-the-hood, files are stored in a folder called .FilesByGoogle in the root directory of the external storage (located at /data/media/user). The contents of this folder are hidden from other applications thanks to a .nomedia file in the directory. The files themselves seem to be encrypted, so there’s indeed no way to recover them if you forget your PIN. If you uninstall the Files by Google app, the contents of the Safe Folder will not be deleted. However, when you re-install Files by Google, it won’t be able to read the old Safe Folder contents again. You can set up a new Safe Folder using the same (or different) PIN, and all new files moved to the Safe Folder will also be saved in the .FilesByGoogle directory.

This feature is not yet available for users in the latest version of the Files by Google app. However, once it rolls out, we will let you know.
